✓ New maps won't downloadThe new maps you can buy, very cheap at that, won't download after purchasing them, it acknowledges that you have purchased them but when contacting iTunes store nothing happens and then either throws throws you back to the buy map screen or stays with the contacting iTunes banner . Please fix this bug on the first of the two best games you can get on iPhone ( better soon be three).Version: 1.6.2
✓ Best iPhone game - and great value for money!Not normally one for doing reviews but some of the comments on here are beyond ridiculous! This is by far the best game I've played on the iPhone and I dread to think how many hours/days/weeks I've spent playing fieldrunners. Certainly more time than on xbox/wii combined. It was the best £2.99 I ever spent on an app. Those people complaining about the extra charge per map need a reality check. Any other game format would have released this as fieldrunners 2 at full price (and no other format is anywhere near as cheep as apps). Congrats to the developers for a great update (let's hope the next one doesn't take quite so long!) and a great game..Version: 0

✓ Love this game, so addictive!I love this game... love the recent updates with the new level and new towers. but a few improvements are still needed: 1. You should be able to 'select' a particular enemy, and focus all your local fire on that enemy. Many other tower defense games have this feature, and it is so frustrating to see a field runner sneak through with a sliver of life left, because your towers are firing at other runners. 2. If you delete a tower, and then immediately replace that tower with a different one (usually upgrading), you should be docked points for selling that tower. 3. There should also be more information in the help about how much each tower improves with each upgrade (ie: first upgrade = 70% power boost), so players can more easily judge if they're better off spending their money on upgrades or additional towers..Version: 0

I don't think it's unreasonable for the developers to charge a measly 59p/99c for the maps, a lot of work has gone in to them and this should be acknowledged by such a small amount of money. There are other new features which were free such as achievements. I agree with the previous reviewer about the missing map but this is just a bug. I had it at first but then removed and replaced the app and the other map appeared. Should have been noticed before release but bugs like that get through quite easily without a huge bug testing community. Good job guys!.Version: 0

✓ OutstandingThis really is as good as most of the reviews would lead you to believe. The animation is smooth and really shows the power of the iPhone/ iPod Touch as a mobile gaming platform. Great value for £2.99, don't hesitate about buying this- it's only the cost of a pint of lager. Looking forward to the forthcoming 1.1 update, seeing the new maps, towers and runners. Also interested to hear the sound, though lack of it just now does not seem to take away from the game at all. This can only get better with the next updates! Get it now! ✓ Must BuyIt's a game that will keep you coming back to try and beat your high score or trying to beat the next difficulty. The game is easy to pick up and play for a few minutes or hours. The only thing that could make the game better would be a few more maps and some new enemies (blue, green, yellow). ✓ Very tactically interestingReally interesting game. Lots of tactical options. The more u play, the more ideas u have. Reminds me a bit of Total Anihalation on PC in terms of defence. It's a fine balancing act between building a long enough maze and concentrating enough firepower in the right places. There's a couple of hard levels but they are a good indication of how ur gonna hold up later on! I just managed to beat lvl100 on medium difficulty with 9 lives spare - very satisfying. It's really addictive. Keeps u coming back to try and understand how to maximize your cash and build order. Because of it's simplicity u feel u can really get your teeth into making everything work efficiently. I've spent longer playing this than many full price PC games I've bought recently - best 3 quid I've ever spent! Not bothered about there being no sound as I think it would be annoying having war sounds all the time and my gf would probably have killed me by now! Maybe a sound when placing weapons would be nice but don't want noise all the time! Best game on iPhone by a long shot. ✓ Great game with room for improvementThis is a highly polished and very addictive tower defence game. For anyone who is unfamiliar with the genre, you have to fend off increasingly more difficult waves of enemies by setting up automatic attack turrets with different attack powers to wipe them out. This is probably the best example that I've seen -varied enemies and well designed tower-types with stylish, cartoony graphics. There's no sound or music yet though, and the developers should consider adjusting the difficulty curve and adding some more powerful weapons, as the waves quickly become very tough after level 40, and make it possible to split the streams of enemies among multiple paths. All in all though, one of my top 5 favourites, a great 'boring train journey' game..Version: 0

✓ Top Game!Fieldrunners is a terrific game. A few dollars for hours of fun. If you don't want to pay any dollars then don't buy it, however it is better than the 50 or so free games I have played so well worth it in my opinion. The 5 maps all have a bit of variety and each is pleasing to the eye and challenging. Buy it, you'll love it. Interface is really easy to use and the pause feature allows you to re-arrange your base. Helpful hint - If a runner is about to make it through and you are worried you might lose a life, you can pause, rearrange your base a little and make him run all the way back through your weapon system, so keep your base flexible enough you can close/open an exit from 2 positions. Doesn't help with flying targets, but the land targets will never be a problem with careful placement of towers to allow you to flick the switch so to speak and make 'em run back through your weapons. This is obvious to experienced players, but just thought I would mention it to show there is some strategy and base needs to be flexible to win. Cheers, go get it!.Version: 0

There's a limited amount of weapons, you're always on the same field, and it's pretty repetitive. So why do I seem to be completely addicted to it?? It's a very tactical game and it's a lot of fun. ✓ A simply fantastic game!I've bought many apps through the iTunes app store since it was launched, yet this is my first review. The quality of this game has prompted me to do so. I had the initial 1.0 version, and now the free update to 1.1, and this has just gotten better! The quality and adaptation for the touch screen is fantastic. They're a small developer, but this is a sublime example of the quality that can be achieved with relatively lower requirements. It is great for either a quick game while waiting for a meeting or a marathon session while commuting. It is without a shadow of a doubt the best game for the itouch. We have spent more time playing this than all of the other games we have downloaded put together. The key to this game is it seems so simple, but is so engaging, you keep picking it up and running the battery down every time! It is all about strategy really. We thought we were doing well until we found a guy on a blog that had got to level 115 and 899,000 points, then we had to go back to school! Although initially irritated, I actually quite like that it has no sound and I can imagine that a thousand non-stop firing effects and explosions would annoy the Gordon out of me - however I appreciate that introducing a sound option would be welcome by some. They could track the last enemy or the first or even weaker and stronger. The list hoes on. This would elimanate the problem of tesla towers targeting regular soldiers rather than the fast moving planes. A problem have encoutered quite a few times. I would also like to see more towers. Make sure the centre path is stacked with rockets, blob guns and the tesla towers to take out the choppers. I only had 4 of teslas. The best I have managed to complete so far is losing one life (after playing it 4 times). Also, use the entire map as much as possible make them go along way slowly. ✓ A greatly addictive game but some shortcomings of new update...Since the updates, it has become a greater challenge in endless mode for all maps which shortens the game a little n with the fast fw i can breeze past the early boring stages of the game which was greatly needed since getting to round150 takes nealy 2 hrs. Also the added difficulty makes hard settings nearly impossible to past round100. The 2 new towers add a bit of variety but not by much, more towers are needed in the next update. The 3rd map is especially challenging with the fliers so perhaps the addition of a tower that only shoots flying stuff. Upgrades to the towers should also be increased especially the mortar tower which isnt as useful fully upgraded(a level2 mortar is more useful) since i could upgrade a tesla n a flame instead. More maps are also needed to improve replayability as the 3 maps get very repetitive after a while. Hope the next update can address these concerns..Version: 0

✓ Amazing!I felt i had to write a review as I played the 1.2 update. The graphics are truly awesome, the gameplay is impeccable, drylands is a challenge and the new weapons are again awesome. I also think that extended mode should be 200 rounds with the same difficulty as you have made it in this update that really would make it a challenge. ✓ Great game but..Excellent game. I've been hoping that someone would release a decent tower defense game. And this on is exactly that. The graphics are rendered brilliantly and the controls work excellently. A few suggestions though, maybe more than one type of background, just variations on colour/setting would be good. Also, ability to play beyond 100 levels, as I find once I get up to about 80/90th level, I start to enjoy seeing how fast I can destroy the units, not just save my base. Maybe still finish on level 100 but be asked to carry on playing past 100 if you want. More towers. Being able to upgrade the towers is good. But a few more choices of towers would be great. I love setting up the field so that they have to circle my lightning towers whilst getting gooed to slow them down - then watching them fry! My only complaint is that the fast forward comes very late on in the game - by round 70 I have everything set up just right so that I do not need to alter the field. It would be good to be able to set fast forward whenever you like to speed up gameplay as 100 rounds takes a long time. However although the game has limitless enemies the limits come in the form of the number of defenses you can put down and upgrade. 4 towers initially seems like a good selection to begin with but when you get to wave 40 or so the choice begins to dull and you begin to relax and watch wave upon wave of enemy which by this point also become a little repetative. Cannot let the iphone down as you just want to know how your towers are doing until it completed automatically in wave 100 in easy mode if you can last till then. Awesome. ✓ Brilliant!I have to say this game is excellent. It's the most addictive game I've played on the iPhone so far! Very well put together throughout. Every positive review here is absolutely correct, I've now played the game for 4 hours solid.... How much would it cost you to be entertained for that long?....In my opinion it's well priced compared to the other games available which don't have the same level of addictive and challenging game play. ✓ My first 5 star review!!I've bought a fair few games for the ipod now, and I havent really felt that any of them deserved a 5 star review, until now. This game is fantastic, great graphics, great sound, loads of action and its a good challenge. This type of game is where touch controls really shine and it plays beautifully on my ipod. For me its the best tower defense you can buy. Most of the time I moan when your expected to pay extra money to add features to a game you already own, and to be honest I dont think you should have to, it should be a free "patch" as in PC games. However I have bought the maps for this game because its just hours and hours of play for a small amount of money, hypocritical I know, but this is my favourite game so far..Version: 0

✓ Worth the priceDeserves the press awards and recognition. There's plenty of tower defence games out there, but some stand out from the rest. Consider this iPhones response to Desktop Tower Defence or PixelJunk Monsters. It's not just the depth and addictiveness that make the game shine, but the little turrets and soldiers that remind me of Team Fortress 2 and Metal Slug, and the equally chunky and clinky sound effects, as well as the killer title screen music. You can easily loose an hour playing a single game, and what's more it saves your progress so you can come back to it later. ✓ Legend of a gameProbably one of the top three best apps iPod touch though even though it's amazing it's not perfect. Not that I'm nitpicking or anything it's just what these review thingys are about. The most expensive tower for what's worth quite frankly is crap! I would like to see it from becoming a hole that shoots rocks to a nuke firing station. I would also like to see an ice tower that slows ALL enemies around it and maybe some more so the gameplay dose'nt get repetive. If you are someone thinking about buying this app buy it now or I'll go over to your house and do it for you! The presentation is amazing, graphics are cartoony and fluent making the game not gloomy like tap defence. The concept is a huge leap from normal tower defence games. Instead of there being a pathway that the enemies have to walk through the enemies choose where they go so you have to make a path out of towers making this app worth £5 so snap it up or I'll snap your leg..Version: 0
