✓ Tower Defense at it's Best!Same game as the iPhone version, but definitely better with the bigger screen. Although it's lost it's pick up and play qualities. Playing the iPhone version is quick and easy, whether you're on the go or relaxing. With the iPad version, you truly have to make a commitment to play and that commitment is sometimes difficult to make. If you're like me, you're surrounded with technology wherever you go, living room, kitchen, bedroom and especially office... so because of the multiple options to occupy my time. I say that the original Fieldrunners for the iPhone is better than the iPad version, for the mere fact that I would play it more on the iPhone vs. the iPad..Version: 0

✓ Excellent game which sometimes crashesWhen I first reviewed this game I thought it was great and happily gave it five stars. When they came out with the first or second update which included Game Center support, I was very very unhappy with how unreliable it was, and how bad the game center support was. They've released more updates since that review, and now the game center support is pretty decent, but the app does tend to crash a bit too often. My impression has been that the App usually crashes because it runs out of memory. I am running it on the original iPad, and I wonder if people running an iPad2 have significantly fewer crashes with it (because the iPad2 has more memory). I find that I have better luck with it if I turn off the music, and if I also make sure that background-ish tasks (such as Mail) are not running. With the current version of Fieldrunners and the current version of iOS, I have been able to finish every level that I've tried (on both easy and medium) without it crashing. I have not played many games on 'hard' difficulty, because I tend to lose those very quickly! It crashes often enough that I cannot give 5-stars to the current version, but when it isn't crashing it is a very well-done game and a lot of fun to play, if you like tower-defense games. I personally enjoy it more than the other tower-defense games that I've bought for my iPad, except (of course) when it crashes!.Version: 1.1.4

✓ Fantastic Game! Thanks for fixing the bugs!Fieldrunners has always been a favorite of mine. Sure, it took them some time to come up with newer maps but it was worth the wait. I appreciate how the newer maps feature fixed routes and open routes. I also like the multiplayer feature. Fieldrunners upped the ante this time with the new maps, units, and towers and the developers have shown once again why this game is one of the best tower defense games to ever come out for iOS. ✓ This is the game I keep coming back to playStability issues have been resolved. This game keeps my attention and always throws me a curve ball. As they say "this game has legs". ✓ Awesome firepower!This game reminds me of those robotic exosuits from The Matrix Revolutions. The amount of firepower is ridiculous. Too bad the machine guns are essentially useless for anything other than blockers to channel the runners to their doom! Highly recommend the Tesla towers! ✓ Fantastic Update For Certain DevicesIt appears that rendering every frame and tinkering with the resolution has broken the game on some devices (see other reviews). However, the game runs like a maniac on my iPad Mini 4, and looks beautiful as well. Hopefully Subatomic can manage one last patch to fix the issue with iPad Pros, and maybe add a toggle to allow older devices to revert to rendering every other frame. Difficulty just increased at the right rate, creeps were interesting and varied level to level to stop you building the same way every time. ✓ Crashes upon level completion unless you close all background tasks and reboot firstUPDATE #2 : Terminating the background tasks and turning the iPad off and then on again did allow me to complete a level without crashing, so that may also be a fix for other users experiencing the same crashing issue. Also, Fieldrunners support was very quick to respond to e-mails. It's a great game! :) UPDATE : I am using a 1st-gen iPad running iOS 5.0, and from the crash logs it looks like a Low Memory issue, so perhaps turning the iPad completely off and on again before playing will help. ORIGINAL REVIEW : I guess I should have listened to the reviews. I enjoyed playing the free Google Chrome version and decided to purchase the iPad version. Unfortunately it consistently crashes at the end of the Extended Grasslands level on Easy ... The second level That I am trying to play. ✓ IPhone app on the iPadOk, so I own version of Fieldrunners, and now I've player Fieldrunners on the iPad. -First of all, the graphics are really amazing in the large tablet... something you will only know when you play. -There's a soundtrack now for each map, and they're pretty catchy... nice to know I can still use my music though -The game itself has all the maps that come with Fieldrunners on the iPhone, in addition to the downloadable maps... -That "coming soon" screenshot looks pretty awesome, can't wait for anything Subatomic has in store for me. -Achievements work, having tons of fun and can't wait for what's new!!! ✓ A Little DisappointedFundamentally a fun game. I burned up a bunch of hours playing it on my iPhone. The iPad version is benefitted only by the bigger HD screen. No other advantages noted - it is the same game with the same maps only at a significantly higher price. On the seriously down side is the seemingly slow motion play in regular mode and a super fast action in fast mode. The only other negative noted is that smoke and fire from explosions have been enhanced to the point that it is difficult to see the board action. These negatives are fixable. I was thrilled by the addition of 3 new maps, but increasingly frustrated by how unstable the game was on the mudslide level (crashing on most loads and crashing when I tried to save my scores). So I was first overjoyed by today's bug fix and then... let's say not pleased... when mudslide seemed even more prone to crashing. ✓ Good game but could do with some updates.Great game, addictive with hours spent playing on it. Some issues with it, that get very annoying after a while. The monetary reward system is badly balanced, for example only getting one coin for heavies on bikes when heavies on foot give you two! Jeeps only worth 2? Really?! Could also do with an almanac of the enemies, knowing what their weaknesses and strengths are. We mostly play co-op multiplayer, but we're getting very bored of playing the same level over and over again. I highly rate Sentinel 3, this is different but just as good. Free flowing mayhem that is slick and well designed. A lot of depth and features. Options allow for setting difficulty levels just right. ✓ Same great gameI've been playing the iPod version on my iPad and decided to get the iPad version despite the negative reviews of stability problems. I have not had any issues with this version. If I were to have any issue it would be that I have to re-acquire my modest score standings to activate the additional playing fields. This is not really a problem since it was a good thing to relearn the lower levels. As I said, I've been playing the iPod version on my iPad. ✓ AwesomeI'm a big tower defense game fan, and this game is going down as one of the best I've played. It performs very well on the iPad even with a ton of units on the screen. The bad guys are well animated. The music is orchestral, and is quite engaging and professional. This game turned my wife into a tower defense game player. (well, technically it was Plants vs. Zombies, but this game sealed the deal!). I highly recommend it. ✓ AddictiveOne of the best games for the iPhone which just got better for he iPad. Amazing graphics and love the music. Level of detail is superb. What I liked about field runners was they then started adding more levels too. Major negative component is the constant crashing. I don't know whether this is because of the iOS or what, but it's been going on a while now and some games you just can't complete. It happens virtually every time I play now and I can never resume a game. That sends it into major crash spasms. They really do need to fix this as its killing the reputation of what is one of the greatest games for the iPad. Come on guys. Sort it out..Version: 1.1.4
✓ What gives?I just don't understand all the comments about the skyway map crashing. It hasn't crashed on me even once. Perhaps you all should restart your ipads from time to time such as needs to be done occasionally with the iPhone. You should especially do this after installing a new app. Come on people. This is a great game. Don't give it a poor rating just because you're in too big of a hurry to do what needs to be done. I play the game from start to finish daily and not once has it crashed..Version: 0

I have probably played this more than any other games on the iPad put together. You put time and effort in and when eventually defeated you soon find yourself trying again with a few tweaks to your plans or a completely radical new means of defending.
