✓ 50ftI fishing is possibly the best fishing game in the app store. The only thing it lacks is a larger lure selection and more than 50 ft of line. Tiny ice fishing lures can hold more than that... Definitely a sim rather than arcade gameplay- guide now in-game!!This is definitely more of a sim than an arcade fishing game, but the developer has now included an in-game guide which is very clear/concise. This is great for someone who hasn't fished before like myself. Now I can't put this game down! It plays extremely well. Casting feels good, and fighting the fish and keeping the line tension down can be a lot of fun. The graphics are very nice. The map view is serviceable, but would have looked better with more realistic graphics. The actual fishing graphics are great, especially now the water is animated- you are playing against a photo, but there is an animation that overlays the water. Very nice. Rod animation is good, especially when you hook a fish. Sound is excellent. Lots of ambient noise makes it sound like you are actually there. There is lots of value too, with many lakes to unlock with championships. Overall, I thoroughly recommend this app for anyone with an interest. Novices PLEASE read the in-game guide first, as it will help a great deal, and you will get more satisfaction out of the game knowing where on a lake to look for certain types of fish etc- and keep reeling in, as you will have more chance of catching one. ✓ Simply amazing! Almost as fun as bass fishing for real.Incredibly fun and realistic. A bass fisherman's dream app. I tried the free version and within 20 minutes I bought the 'reel' deal. A couple suggestions for the developers (the forum is not taking new posts): It would be cool to see a splash with the top water bite. I would love to see a few baits added to the tackle box: a Senko, a top water frog (like a Swamp Donkey), & a soft plastic worm. I agree that the fish weights are a bit unrealistic; perhaps they could be adjusted. I'm not sure of one thing: does working the bait correctly increase your odds of catching a fish? Outstanding app that will definitely curb my craving and tide me over till spring. Great work guys!.Version: 0

✓ Finally a real fishing app!Thanks to Egerter Software for finally providing iPhone users with a real fishing app. I have been amazed at the popularity of the other fishing app out there, as it is just so poorly designed. I asked for major improvements, and basically got nothing. This app is a bit more expensive, but not by much. The price is well worth it. A lot of planning clearly went into this app. The controls are easy to master, and look realistic, unlike the other app in the store. You can actually control where your boat is, you can see a radar fishfinder, the reel is integrated into the casting controls, there is a virtual fishing instructor with audible advice, and the list just goes on and on. Unlockable lakes, tournaments, real fish, great scenery, great sound. There isn't much I can even think of asking for in an update. Heck, you can even superimpose a picture of the fish on an existing picture in your photo roll, allowing you to send a shot of yourself with the fish to friends. How randomly cool is that?! It's as if Egerter Software saw my review of the other app, then went out and did everything I asked for and much more. Accept no imitations! This is as close to real fishing as you can get sitting in your apartment with your phone. I love this app, and I hope everybody buys it..Version: 0

✓ Great app, except......This is a great app. Reeling in the fish once you have caught it is about as realistic as can be considering you are using a phone! My only complaint is that casting could be better. No matter how you cast, or what bait/ lure you are using, it only goes 25 feet. The only reason I'm giving it a 4-star rating rather than 5 stars is because, as others have noted, the size of the fish being caught is very unrealistic. You just don't catch 16-20-lb. largemouth bass that often, even here in central Florida! :-) A much better weight distribution for largemouth catches would be 1-3-lb. fish caught frequently, 4-10-lb. fish caught much less frequently, and 10+-lb. fish caught rarely. This mobile fishing game more accurately depicts what freshwater fishing is like than other arcade and console fishing games I've played. That's saying a lot considering a console game can run you up to $50. Not to mention I fish freshwater myself. And the pictures of the lake, the ambient sounds, and the rocking motion while standing on the boat, you can tell the developers or consultants really paid attention to detail. ✓ Another winner from Rocking Pocket GamesI love Blue Skies from Rocking Pocket Games (I have absolutley no connection to this company) and I now also love iFishing. I also have Hooked and that is a good one too, but the real neat thing about this one is that you have a boat and can motor around the lake using the fish/depth finder to locate fish. Reeling in is not manual like it is in Hooked. You don't move your finger around a reel in a clockwise motion. Instead, you slide your finger across the bottom of the screen to change reeling in speed and keep the line tension in the correct range. You can take a snapshot of your catch and save the "picture". Very realistic game. Good sound effects. Easily worth the cost..Version: 0

✓ The Best App on the IPOD!I believe this to be a great use of accelerometers and a fun way to not get sun burnt! If you struggle casting 50ft dont give up you'll eventually figure out how to by trial and error it took me sometime to get it but I love the game. SUGGESTION: instead of the current theme for selecting lakes why not have a map of the United States and place a lake in each state (eventually) Even if the lake doesnt exist in that state. I dont thisnk you'll ever find pike and musky in same lake ( I may be wrong) DIFFERENT DIVERESITY IN EACH LAKE. More diversity of fish (spoonbill, sturgeon, varieties of catfish, etc). Include ponds, streams, rivers. Under options change settings for seasons/Day or Night and finally (for those "Non-game" fishermen) Add "high score/trophy" for the other non-game fish such as crappie, perch, catfish, sheephead and others. It's alot of content but it was my brainstorming and I feel many will be impressed with these additions..Version: 0

Love the fact that you can move to a different location along each lake,choose different lures and the vocal guide that gives you hints. Now with the update, the lakes are animated and there are more options. Hopefully soon you be able to use your own photos to fish from on your ipod. The developers really listen to your suggestions and work hard to make this a fantastic game. This is much more realistic and user friendly than the other animated fishing game available. ✓ Excellent App - Uneven UpdateI love this app. Play it all the time. I also love fishing and am amazed at how effective an approximation of real fishing it is. This is the first game that I actually paid to get the full version after trying the freebee. My only criticism is that I'd like to be able to turn off the guy's voice while keeping all the other sounds - I don't like fishing with someone who blabbers the whole time and don't like it in this game either. The new 1.5 version offers some nice improvements (like the gentle rocking of the boat) but also some odd flaws. For some reason, the buttons for selecting and initiating game play are now overly large and clunky-looking. Makes the design look amateurish even though the game itself is quite sophisticated..Version: 0

I love it. I really feel like I'm fishing without all the fuss. I was "hooked" line & sinker in about 10 minutes. This is truly an entertaining application. I played the "fun" mode for about 10 minutes....then went into the tourniment mode. What a blast. The graphics are terrific, the water shimmies. I wish I had an I-Phone to feel the vibration when a fish strikes. The application runs flawlessly for me. No problems at all. Who knows...by summer I may consider the real thing...rubber worms of course. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because I don't wnat the developer to stop making improvements to this app...whatever they might be. ✓ Great app, here's a few suggestionsThis is a really fantastic fishing app. Great work from the developers. Here's a few things I'd like to see in future updates: 1. Sound when casting. 2. Vibration when a fish is on, as you reel it in, with the intensity of the vibration based on the size of the fish. For me, feeling the fish on the line is a big part of fishing. It would be awesome to be able to say "this feels like a big one". Not a constant vibration, but enough to feel like you have an actual live fish on the line. 3. Ambient sounds while fishing; water, birds, etc. 4. Animated backgrounds, moving clouds and water. ✓ Love it but the fish's weights are out of porportionThe game is great but the fishes weights are to large/heavy. for experienced fisherman it can get really annoying. Please change this. Also the game is a little easy, please make it harder to catch the larger fish. More fish would be nice (like trout, catfish, bullheads, or bowfin) and maybe more lures if possible. There is one horribly annoying bug; when you quit out of the game and come back, you lose the total weight of fish that you've caught so far. With these changes its a 6 star. Choosing tackle makes a difference, such as what depth you want to fish. Tournament play makes it challenging. Jigging your rod makes a difference. ✓ Scenery and fishing action keeps you interestedGreat fishing action. Be careful to not touch the steering wheel at the 12 o'clock position. The engine will got to WOT! That does not happen in a real boat so I assume it's a bug in the game. Also may I suggest that the developer move the throttle lever to the far right of the fish finder. Doing so would allow you to steer with the left thumb and run the throttle with your right. Can you add the option to select fishing line weight?
