One minute I enjoy lovely soul soothing music, next the adverts about cancer over and over again. The subject is very very close to my heart and therefore really spoiling the enjoyment of listening to lovely music. The idea has been tested back in 2012 and it didn’t work out for the company for some reason. 14 years later, times have changed because of internet availability (prices, devices, etc), I definitely would pay £5 to avoid mood-spoilers that ads are. ✓ Hoping it works well on the iPhoneThis is probably one of my most used apps on my webOS HP TouchPad and I think that the selection of music is absolutely excellent. The UK advertising is kind of fun to listen to just because it's not the norm for those of us in different countries. Fortunately, there is not a lot of it and it's not terribly annoying. I was excited to see on their website that there's an iPhone app for this and am hoping the interface isn't as buggy as the webOS version. The music plays, but the current track isn't always shown. I'm guessing the station won't stream well unless on wifi, but I'll give this a try anyway. Update: Tried the app with wifi off and it sounded fine. It might have helped that my iPhone had a strong 3G signal at the time. It's a plus, regardless!.Version: 2.4.2

✓ Best station everAmerican here. Discovered Classic FM years ago, frequently listening at the office where I got into trouble streaming on the company’s computer. Apparently I was using too many bites or electrons or something. Real bummer. So discovering an app was like having the clouds part and getting a gift from on high. Now I listen everywhere and anywhere. Great programs and informative hosts. The app itself is wonderful. I can stream live, download and/or subscribe to my favorite programs, use the catch up screen to revisit favorites or “catch up” if I had to miss something. Would be nice to be able to carry our favourite shows on the road, at the office, etc. Without wasting precious Megabytes. ✓ Only one problemExcellent app and a real life-saver here in the Scottish Highlands where there is no DAB or FM away from the major cities. I use the app when I am driving and 3G/4G coverage is pretty good. However, when I do go through a patch where there is no coverage, the app reverts to ‘pause’ mode, requiring me to hit the ‘play’ button to resume listening once back in signal area. ✓ Almost perfectVery good app. Classic FM is still the greatest station in the world for listening to classical music; however, there is one problem with this app. When you are using the app and listening to the music and the screen fades to black and the music is still playing and you want to get back to the station to the name of the song or something like that on the app and you move the bariPad to unlock the app and get back to the app, the app closes and you have to restart it again which is kind of awkward. It shows what you have missed instead. Also Up Next is blank. To add insult to injury there is no DAB+ in my area, or many others. OK, other ways to listen but not when I am away from home. Getting to be like BT making changes without thinking them through. No changes made since posting the above a few hours ago. Working now as it used to a month or so ago. I love classical music and I've been to 21 countries, this is by far the BEST radio station in my opinion. Yes, you do hear all of the radio commercials from London on this app, but I personally don't mind because it makes me feel like I am back in the UK, even though I'm in DC. The music is superb and there is just something so comforting about listening to the familiar lilt of the announcers British accents. ✓ Classic pleasureI have listened to this radio station from the bird song test up to date. It has brought hours of pleasure and helped me on the nights I was unable to sleep. There are so many different presenter that there must be someone for everyone. My only criticism is the repetitive adverts. One realises that revenue must be raised but it’s the constant repeating of the same few adverts many times every show. Variety is the spice of life and I’m sure I’m not the only one who swaps to another add free classical station. I enjoy the variety of composers and the balance that is achieved.
