✓ Beware: This is not an Ipod application.This is not an Ipod application; it is an Ipod interface to an internet application. It is my fault for not seeing the fine print that this program ONLY works with an internet connection. To have to spend money on phone time to use a program which is basically a database program shows that the developer has not done their job. I would recommend avoiding this product until the developer does their job in making this a real Ipod application..Version: 0

If you could place your finger on the strings, for when you know what the chord looks like but not the name? I like this app! ✓ Not for iPad (Read my review instead of star rating)I have used this on my iPhone 4 for several years and it is great. Recently bought an iPad with retinal display and put the app on it. Can not believe the difference. It still works perfectly on my iPhone. On the iPad, most features work except the reverse chord look up is so slow that it seems the iPad is locked up. I give it 5 stars for the iPhone and 0 stars for the iPad. Hope they fix it soon..Version: 5.4
✓ What happened?I had this on my iPhone 6s and it worked. It will not load onto my new SE. it says to pay, but there is nowhere to pay. It shows a load circle, but it will not load. What is wrong. ✓ Too Bad it’s not supportedJust got this app, and it is pretty intuitive though it would be great to have a users page that actually answers questions. Like, since the chord finder says it’s in standard tuning and there is an opportunity to change tunings, how do you find chords in different tunings using the chord finder? Why is there no diminished chord in the reference (that’s an easy one to include)? Themes are very ugly. But it is very useful for finding names for some of the interesting chords I come across. ✓ App locks upThis app worked well on ios15, but on my iPhone 14 and ios16 the app opens and can be used as previously but then locks up when trying to exit the app. Have to turn off the phone to exit..Version: 6.0.4
✓ Pretty good, terrible chord playback implementationThis is a nice app, especially for the price. The one problem I have with it is that the chord playback is inelegant and awkward. Bascially, the app has a MP3 file for each chord (thousands of them) and when you playback the chord it jumps to QuickTime and plays it. There are dozens of these types of apps out that use MIDI to play chords, I don't know why the author took this approach. Fix that an I will bump my score up..Version: 0

✓ It's okAs others have said, it is very comprehensive. This does unfortunately lead to it being rather large. For its 64.9MB, I would expect a chromatic tuner in addition to the rest of the features of the app. I must stress, this app is not bad, but it does take up a lot of space and lacks a tuner, that's all. ✓ Flawed approachThis app plays chords and scales using pre-recorded Quicktime sound files. What this means is that 1) the app is very large 2) he user has to click "play" and then wait for the audio file to load. If you want to play it again, it has to load again. There are other apps with the same features that don't have this limitation. You can strum strings, and instantly hear what the chord or note sounds like. You can click on a fret and hear that note. Not so with this app. Deal breaker for me. I don't understand why the devs took this approach. Try Guitar Toolkit for another option..Version: 0

✓ I like it. Lots of info.Although the UI and icon is hard on the eyes this app has a lot of good info. I like it for the most part. I can't really complain as I got it for free... I wish it had a section/option for just bass too although much of the scale info is universal. I think this could be one of the best guitar ref's in the store if they would update the icon and UI. ✓ Aaaargh!!This used to be a nice app - not perfect but cool. But the new interface is ugly and counter-intuitive, the screen is cluttered and if you are colorblind you can forget this app... This one is leaving my iPhone now..Version: 6.0.3
✓ Not impressedUgly layout, has to be connected to the internet to do anything (why can't at least some of the info just be stored in the app?), slow, and when you want to hear the scale being played it opens up an ugly quicktime screen(!!!?? that is not what it looked like on the webpage either). ✓ Ruined for iPhoneThis excellent app is now very hard to use on an iPhone. So much has been squeezed into the new landscape view that everything is far too small making string and note selection extremely difficult. I totally regret having updated to this new version. ✓ Little disappointed, needs improvementsYeah it shows chords, scales and arpeggios in all keys. But what I don't like about this app is that there is some delay time from when you strike the note and when you hear it. I'm a bit disappointed that a $6 app has this flaw. It doesn't have settings for different guitar sounds either. That would have been nice. It do't think it's worth it. Especially because there are other apps that do the same for less..Version: 5.4
✓ Great information but very slowA great source of information. Very useful if you are in any way serious about learning your fretboard and music theory. But it is way too slow. ✓ Great app, terrible reviseThis app, as many people have said, is by far the best and most comprehensive learning tool for guitarists out there. It allows you too look at many chords, triads, arpeggios and then relate them to the appropriate scales in all positions. I use it daily in jazz guitar studies. It's great. However, I hate the new version. It's way less intuitive than the previous version, and harder to read. Why did you mess with something that worked great? Give me back the old version!.Version: 6.0.4

✓ Does what it says but not a good use of iPhoneThere is a great deal of info here for the serious player and it IS very handy. Problem is the interface and the sounds. There are no scrolling by thumb lists. You have to press arrow keys one "page" at a time. You should be able to "slide" the page to the next function. Instead you close one page to open another. Worst part us that to hear a chord it opens quick time and plays a (wav?) file. Very slow and cheesy. Just play a midi file! Does it give you info that no other iPhone app does? Yes. Is it Iphone user friendly? No. Not by a long shot..Version: 0
✓ Not enough chordsI'm very disappointed. Tried quite a few of the odd chords I use and it never named any of them. I use Nutchords on my PC and is a much better app but apparently not available for iPad. Needs a lot bigger chord reference..Version: 6.0.4
