Quite literally useless appThe company I work for uses nationwide for their 401K provider and apart from their app, I've found them to be pretty good. That being said, I don't know how a company this size can't get someone to improve this app, it honestly might be the most basic, useless app I've ever used. I can literally only do 2 things on the app, see by balance and YTD return or see my balance and my yearly return. That's it. I can't see what funds I'm holding specifically in my target date fund, no graph showing growth since starting my 401K, no option to allocate my funds differently, etc... I can only see my balance and that is it. I use other brokerage apps and you can do so many things but for some reason nationwide has decided to put 0 effort into their app. I do most things on my phone like a lot of younger people and this fact alone would stop me from investing any other money I have with them but unfortunately I don't have a choice in my 401K provider. Seriously nationwide, hire someone to make your app even a little bit useful..Version: 9.5.1

Need a Insurance Card in Virtual WalletFor the most part I have no complaints with Nationwide and the app. It works well, has very few glitches, and does the job...i.e. I can see all my policies and pay my bills. However, I would really like to see them develop an insurance card that can be added to my Apple wallet on my iPhone. I hate having to save the image of the card to my camera roll, and then scrolling through photos in order to produce my card when needed. If it was in my wallet it would be so much more convenient and accessible. I hope this is in the works?!.Version: 9.4.9

TerribleI was victim of a bait and switch scam with Nationwide on my auto policy and renewal. I fell victim to empty promises about receiving a discount if my family used the Smart Ride tracking app. We completed the bogus Smart Ride requirements with zero incidents and we’re even congratulated for our great success. We were awarded a 24% “discount “ with our 6 month auto policy renewal. Come renewal time, I come to learn that our auto policy rate increased substantially despite being assured of the phantom discount. Don’t fall for this scam. We had zero incidents with Smart Ride and zero claims. It is all a lie. I’m counting the days until my next renewal cycle when I can take my home, auto and umbrella business elsewhere..Version: 10.14.0

Nationwide is NOT on your sideNationwides market cap is $1.5 Billion yet they’re such cheap people their app lacks super basic functionality. You’re an insurance company. You collect money and pay the occasional claim. Get better it’s more annoying than you’ll ever understand. You guys have no excuse to lack basic features inside your app like NOT having the pet insurance functionality built in. Thats so incredibly ridiculous to me. I’m sick of waiting around!!!! Youve offered pet insurance for how long? And clients still have to jump through flaming hoops to get policy info. I personally have had you since I got my puppy. Won’t update cardAfter my bank account was compromised I updated my debit card. That was over a month and a half ago. First payment didn’t clear. After calling customer service I was told the account would be watched to be sure my next payment went through. Well here I am again with a payment that didn’t clear. The card number was not actually updated. I will have to call again and ask to have the fees waived. After trying multiple time to add a new card or update the existing I get stuck in a loop. I can make a payment using the card but I can’t update the payment method for auto pay and make it work. How ridiculous and a waste of my time..Version: 8.21

Basically uselessThis app is half-useless. Great. I can view my insurance cards. Doesn’t do quotes. Doesn’t allow you to manage your policy. Doesn’t do ANYTHING besides show you payments, direct you to a poorly structured customer service automated hotline, and give you access to your insurance cards. Other insurance companies provide much more feature rich apps, better customer service and easier access. Never in my life have I had to make as much effort to get an insurance quote FROM A CARRIER I ALREADY USE. App is trash and my money is better spent elsewhere. Time to switch to USAA..Version: 8.18

Very Frustrating !!!!!I tried to make a payment multiple times over a 3 week period. It ended being 2 days late. I had received a new debit card with a new expiration dates since my last payment several months ago. Rather than tell me there was a problem, each time I tried to pay online, both the app and the website would just lockup. It could have come back and said there was a problem with the card or transaction, but no. Just locked up. Every single time I tried it..Version: 9.3.7

Why is pet policy left out?Nationwide offers pet insurance but there’s no app for it?! If you have a policy with them you should be able to view it on the mobile app! Now I’m not gonna sit here and claim that pets are family too, that’s besides the point. ANY policy should be accessible in the app, is it really too complicated to add it in there, what do the claims get processed differently? Does the company have a separate customer service department for pets? Do I not make payments on my policy every month just like everyone else? It is ridiculous, it shouldn't be any different than insuring your car or home..Version: 8.03

NOT on my side.I’ve been on the phone for 6 hours trying to get my car towed, a covered service under my policy. I have made 10 different phone calls to 10 different people and there still is no tow truck to take my car to a garage. Every time I have been on the phone I have had to explain exactly why my car is not working, where my car is, etc. I talked to the claims Dept, the customer service Dept, the roadside assistance Dept, and several other people. Their policy has been entirely useless for my car..Version: 10.6.1

Auto ID cards not available to downloadThe app shows the old ID card until the policy renewal date even though bill was paid 3 weeks earlier. New ID cards not released to web site with same policy. So don’t forget to download them that day unless you know the police will understand if you show the expired one :-) Don’t bother to call and ask because I did and the customer service agent at Nationwide just said that is how it works..Version: 10.10.0

HorribleWorst update ever the entire site has changed you can’t see your ID cards online it says it’s removed you can’t see your policy all on one page. It will not let you see your bill in total it only let you see it by drop-down menus so you can’t provide it to your companies that need your verification of insurance. It won’t let you see your bill as you’re bundled amount so you can provide it as a proof of residency for whatever you need it for. It’s not user-friendly it won’t work says the sites not available it’s terrible..Version: 9.4.9

Thank goodness for Customer Service AgentsNationwide is not the most technologically advanced company, for sure. There’s a major gap between what they are known for (customer service and coverage) and the digital processing of necessary documents. Now, add a national quarantine atop their challenges. Thank goodness for their impeccable phone support! Seriously, they are the best! You can use the app to access your insurance cards, but if you need anything important, you might be better off calling a human..Version: 8.41

Possibly the worst app I have ever usedEvery button is just a link to their painful website. You have to log in again. Each page takes forever to load. And when you go from one action to the next it takes you back to the app only to send you to another webpage that requires logging in again. It is worse than just providing a link to their website. It cannot even display the ID card - that too is a link to the website. The screenshots don’t match the experience even a little. Maybe it does for other products, but for pet insurance this is a waste of time..Version: 10.17.0

Company has been great, app is terribleI’ve had Nationwide for 15 years now. Never really had to make a claim other than a windshield in my car. Had a recent windstorm and had damage that needed fixed. Filed a claim but not sure if anything is actually happening. Haven’t been contacted by an adjuster. When I try to track the claim using the app the first problem is that it send a me out of the app, then it makes me log in again, makes me prove I’m not a robot (even though I already logged in via Face ID on the app) and then errors out. Why have an app if it doesn’t really work right or actually do something useful? I really hate apps that reroute to the web and start login and verification all over..Version: 10.10.0

App easy of useThe app is pretty easy to use. I really like the ease of use with the billing system, and policy information sections. However, the claim side seems to have issues given timely updates. I was able to upload pictures & get an initial update. But now every time I have gone into the claims side of the application since my claim has passed the investigation phase it will not give me an update. It just keeps spinning. It is disappointing & inconvenient not to be able to follow the claims status in a timely manner..Version: 10.12.1

What a poorly conceived app!Oh boy, let me tell you about this app! It's like a labyrinth in there, trying to find your way around. And don't even get me started on setting up new payment methods. It's like trying to solve a Rubik's Cube blindfolded. You'd think they'd give you all the information you need, but nope, you're left scratching your head, wondering what to do next. And guess what? When you finally give up and decide to call customer support, well, let's just say they're not exactly the most reliable bunch. It's like a comedy of errors, with five different people passing the buck, just to set up a simple card for your insurance payment. Can you believe it? I couldn't either..Version: 10.17.0

Rate Bait and switch!!BEWARE!!! Got a great quote through the app so I went ahead and added my ‘new’ used car to my insurance. I looked in the app a few days later to print my insurance cards and Leo and behold…the actual rate the are now charging ended up being OVER $120 MORE that what was quoted in the app. There were no changes to our driving records so the rate should not have been adjusted. If there was an adjustment, I should been notified in some way. That shouldn’t just up the rate and not say anything. There was NO notification other that the 196, yes 196 emails they sent when I was filling out the information in the app to get the quote telling me hire to finish updating my policy and the one email they sent saying that my update insurance cards were available. Trying to get this settled. If not, I will have to obtain insurance elsewhere..Version: 10.9.0

It just stopped working randomlySo I LOVED this app! It made it so simple to remember to pay and to pay my bill, but a couple of months ago, it stopped letting me login, I put in a complaint with the App Store and I can’t seem to find their response to me. I’ve been checking this to see if it’s been fixed, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled, and saw today that about a month ago, they “fixed all the pesky bugs” but what about the bug that gives you a “gen auth invalid” pop up every time I try to login? This has thrown me so far off with paying, I’m never on time now because I lost this app..Version: 9.2.1

Can Be BetterSome days the app works great, other days my fingerprint won’t work, or it will accept it and I still have to put in password, then my password isn’t correct and I have to reset it AGAIN. Or on other days it makes me use my fingerprint multiple times, then it just shows the loading circle and when it FINALLY comes up it says oops something isn’t right. This needs to be fixed ASAP. I’m tired of writing down new passwords with dates beside them just to be told it’s wrong. Why do you have the fingerprint option if it doesn’t even work half the time. IOS IssuesI recently changed to Nationwide insurance and downloaded the app. At first blush I liked the app, until I tried looking at my policy information. For the last several days, it tells me “oops something went wrong, our servers must be down please try again later. I’ve tried deleting the app and rebooting my phone then reinstalling the app to no avail. I contacted Nationwide’s web support and was told to use a browser to look at my policy information/insurance cards. I was told to delete the app and reinstall it. When I explained that I had already done that, I was told the iOS app is glitchy and sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. The app support was totally useless as is the app if I can’t even view my insurance cards/policy information..Version: 10.9.2

Unable to Process PaymentsPreviously this app was stable and reliable. However, for several months now I’ve been unable to process payments through this app and find myself having to go to my desktop to process a payment. When I try to process a payment, there is the following error message, “Unable to process payments at this time. Try again later.” Will this bug be fixed anytime soon?.Version: 9.2.1

Per insurance access in-app would be niceI like the app just fine, but I only downloaded it because we have pet insurance with Nationwide. The downside is that I can see I have that insurance plan, but to check any claims or payments, etc. on this plan I actually have to log in on the website. HORRRRRRRIBLE APPI really have no idea why this app has high reviews. It is unbelievably bad. The whole Nationwide web, app and IT department is a total mess. I just had one of their reps tell me that the only way for me to login is to clear my browser history and use Chrome or Firefox on my iPhone. That should be a red flag right there. If they’re not properly supporting Safari, iOS and the Mac, their IT department needs to be fired. I can never seem to login. I’m always on with customer service. I’m always getting weird error messages, “system down” codes, “try again later” notices, and getting locked out of my account. When I try and change my profile information and it just reverts back to its original state with nothing saved. I have these problems both on my iphone and on my computer. So many flaws...I don’t know where to startFirst, I never received the text message to verify my account so I had to cancel the authorization and have it emailed instead. Second, I tried to make a payment on my account and it didn’t take the payment in full which was what I had chosen. I tried to make another payment a few minutes later in order to rectify the situation, but it wouldn’t give me the option. So now I’m left with a partial payment fee and having to try to “fix” things over the phone. Waste of my time..Version: 8.03

Borderline Useless App from a company that is not much better.My credit card number changed when I got a new one. The very first thing I did was update all my auto pay accounts. Apparently, this was too much for the App to handle. On a Saturday I get a text saying I have a few days to pay before my coverage lapses and by the way we are charging you an extra $30 because we tried to charge your old card. Immediately, I try calling and nobody is there to take my call. Long story short, Nationwide makes a mistake, I get billed an extra $30, and they interrupt my weekend to lmk all of this but aren’t there to answer any calls that may result from these texts. For the amount of money I’m paying monthly, one would think that they would at least have a working app. It’s 2020. Please save yourself the trouble and stay away from this company. *** Update *** 6 months later I’m trying to print out my new insurance card. The app STILL does not work. Also, unlike last time, the website does not work. Finding a new car insurance company just made the top of my to do list. This company is a joke. Avoid at all costs..Version: 8.41

YOU NEED AN APP FOR BUSINESS OWNERSIt’s impossible for me to grasp the fact that you do not offer a service to your corporate customers for them to be able to see the policies that they have on the regular app. I can never see anything about my policies or request any type of certificate information for my general liability policies. I cannot modify or change without actually having to speak to a representative inconveniently and getting a request to the club back just to edit or change some thing in my policy do you need an extension for business owners? It is 2023. You are lacking a serious competitive advantage for your clientele. It’s been a horrible experience dealing with this company in this app as a business owner..Version: 10.11.0

Missing featuresDo you know how complicates is to figure when you have multiple properties an when these needs to paid with multiple accounts? You guys meed to let users add nicknames to policies an pay accounts. I will reserve my 5 stars for them. Hard to figure relation between policy number with property addresses. I have múltiple properties and i need to have a separate list to know which property is the one im paying. Nationwide may expect people to memorize relations between policy # and property. Please let users to add nick name or make property addresses visible in the main page. Also not able to create nick names on payment methods, i pay with 3 checking accounts and all i can see is the account number..Version: 10.3.0

Bad user experience - no pet insuranceHi there, I use Nationwide for pet insurance and can’t get my policy to link up. Further, the user experience is awful. For example, a simple process like verifying your mobile device when you first login is nearly impossible to complete because the design is poor. Every other app shows six boxes for each number to verify. nationwide uses a novel approach - a straight line with too much text on the page to know where to look. Once you add the numbers, you can’t actually access the submit button on iOS because it’s hidden under the keyboard with no “done” button. I’m likely gonna find another pet insurance carrier..Version: 8.41

The app functionality is limitedGreat insurance products, antiquated technology. You’ve had years to improve your computer systems and develop a better app and I still had to wait days for someone to call me back on my last claim because your computer system was down companywide. From the app I can’t print my ID cards or share them because when I press the button absolutely nothing happens. You do have a button to submit feedback on the app which just redirects me to your full website and asks a ridiculous amount of information as if I’m inquiring about something on my policy..Version: 9.4.9

Payment portal doesn’t work wellI have attempted to edit or add different cards to my account and set up automatic payments, but every time, the app does not process this information, and I’m left where I started or the app freezes. The swipe to approve thing looks cool, but the app never processes the request. I’ve had to go to the website to change my payment info, which defeats the point of the app. It looks really nice, but function is mediocre..Version: 8.41

Making paymentsSometimes when making a payment, after you slide the “slide to pay”, it just keeps spinning and spinning forever. You end up having to clear the app and do it again which makes it kind of scary not knowing if you’ll get charged twice or what. When there’s an increase in your bill, there’s an option to click on “see what changes impacted your bill”, you click it, and it tells you no useful info as to what made your new bill higher. Kind of stupid to have that option and then it tells you no info..Version: 10.14.2

Expensive!!It seems these insurance companies do NOT care about the age of folks and how long they have been driving as far as pricing. I’m 54yrs old and the wife is 44yrs old and we’re paying close to what I did as a 19yr old. We shouldn’t be paying a cent over $150 monthly for 2 older vehicles & considering we don’t drive a whole lot. Ya get excuses & apologies when you bring up the matter with their reps. I want results, not excuses and babble! All of these insurance companies are taking advantage, because they can! POTUS need to put caps on this nonsence.Version: 10.10.0
