First Words Sampler for Positive User Reviews

Love itI love this it is great for my 3yr old daughter.. I love the concept and would pay for it.. Great game and it's educational.. Jus think you should be able to increase the difficulty..but we love it :).Version: 0

Loved it so much that we bought the deluxe version! We've had this for about a year and my two year old still loves to play with it. The letters pop into place as long as the child gets them close enough. The graphics are simple and clear so that the focus is on the letters and is not overwhelming..Version: 0

Limited but niceI like that I can set it to french.Version: 7.0

Fun!My 1 1/2 yr old daughter loves the puzzle aspect of this app. We bought the English deluxe ver, expecting to have it write over the sampler, but it installed separately. I was ready to delete the sampler, but decided to keep it installed so we can try the other languages (we esp like the Japanese and Spanish). Wish there was a discount for buying multiple language packs. If so, I'd get a few more languages. QA note: "key" in Japanese is incorrectly spelled out as "ka-ki" instead of "ka-gi". Pls fix in the next ver..Version: 4.0

Love itI love this app & my 4 year old does too. You can set the settings so the words have to be completed in order or you can have random. Can't wait to top up iTunes & get the full version :) brilliant graphics too. You want to help your child to learn, then this is perfect :).Version: 0

Good needs workLetters should be placed in spelling order, but great app nice interaction. My kids love it. I will not be upgrading though since frog was removed. I don't think free upgrades should remove items we already had for free..Version: 0

Super greatThis game is to boring it is for babies..Version: 7.1.2

Great AppThis was my son's first spelling app. I thought it was great for a light app. It has quite a few basic words, and shows the letters in light print, a the kids can practice how to spell them. When they put the letters in the right place, the graphic of what they spell comes alive! My son played it a lot, so we ended up getting the full app, which he loved! It has a lot more words! I wold recommend both..Version: 4.4

FirstwordsMy almost 2 year old daughter loved it so much I bought the full version. Well worth it!.Version: 0

A great sample appThis sampler app definitely works well for the under 5 age group. The lock-in-place letters is the best part for young fingers that aren't very coordinated. The spelling aloud of the letters to make the word is also terrific! Highly recommend this game for all young children..Version: 0

Great - kids love it... Would be great if they added to it:$.Version: 4.1

My daughter LOVES this app!!I've put several different "baby" apps on my phone for those moments you need something to entertain your child with, and out of everything I've downloaded this ones the BEST! My daughter's played it about 20 times and has mastered it and is soo proud of herself!.Version: 0

The Best App for KidsThis is by far a great app. It is great for learning. My two year old nephew goes right for this app. I think it's his favorite. It is a great learning tool. Great call on creating this one, it is a great idea. Thank you..Version: 0

Great app!Obviously written by people who know a lot about child development and motivation..Version: 4.3

Really goodI think it is really good it helps me write and learn my sounds..Version: 4.1

Best app I've got on my phoneMy daughter turns two next week and even she can do it. Love that it helps her with her letters too. She absolutely loves it and doesn't want to share my phone now. I absolutely love it..Version: 0

Great for 4 1/2 year olds, too!I gave this product a full five stars! My little brother has figured out how to use my iPhone, and so I decided to get him some of his own applications. This one was free, so I gave it a try. He asks to play it everytime he sees my iPhone! I bought the full version, turned it on and he read the first new word he saw without any help or prompting. This is a great application!!!.Version: 0

Best app I haveMy son is 19months and gets on my iPhone (unlocks it) and go strait for this game he can complete all the words on the free version and say all the words thanks to this app..Version: 0

Love this App!!My 23 month old LOVES this app. It was one of the first iPhone apps that he liked - easy to slide the letters, very interactive and is extremely educational. So happy we downloaded the intro.... About to upgrade right now!!!.Version: 4.4

Love this appI've had this app for a year- and would play it w/ my daughter since she was an infant. She loves this app, and can now do most of them on her own! Great learning app!.Version: 4.1

My 17-mo-old Has Mastered This! She loves it, and she plays it well. I've had it on my Touch for a few months and just started showing her the words and letting her watch and listen. From there, she started tapping and sliding and at first didn't really get the right letters into their places. But after, I swear, just a few tries, she noticed the patterns of letters and sounds, figured them all out for herself, and she got it! Great app!.Version: 0

Good but Delovper read 𝚙𝚕𝚜My cousin was struggling to read his book so I downloaded this and it helped him but when he started again it did the same words in the same order please 😫🙏🙏💓can you fix 🔨🔧this..Version: 7.1.2

We love it!!My daughter London is under 2 and I just grabbed this last week. She loves it...the more she plays, the faster she gets. The sensor to drag and drop is very forgiving, which is great for younger toddlers. The colors are bright and the voice is clear. I am buying the Deluxe edition ASAP!.Version: 0

Great learning toolMy 1 and a half year old got a hold of our iPad that has this game on it and she actually figured out how to use It. Very simple and great tool for children to recognize letters and sounds..Version: 4.2

Best combination of learningAwesome learning for my toddler, letters, phonics, spelling with picture help - all in one!.Version: 7.1.2

Very good for kids learningIt's fantastic you have to try it, www.bluereliance.co.uk.Version: 4.3

Fun and Educational! There aren't that many words- maybe 10- and my daughter knows "Train" is the final word but it's a free app to sample the game before committing to buy so I still give it 5 stars! My 2 year old loves singing her ABCs and learning her letters so this app was a hit from the start. I have tried out many, MANY free apps and none have come close to keeping her attention like this one does! She asks to play the "Cat ABC game" and will sit with me for 20 minutes at a time- we go through the game at least 3 times before she's ready to move on with something else so it has saved me a dozen times in stores, waiting rooms, and restaurants. She has greatly improved her matching skills and loves to hear the noises each word makes when she completes it. She has learned to speak more clearer in just two days of using this app. and has even learned to spell simple words on her own. The Sampler can be repetitve to parents but young children thrive on repitition so in my opinion, it's a great FREE app..Version: 0

GreatMy daughter liked it so much I downloaded the full deluxe version for her.Version: 0

Great appMy two year old can't put it down. I like the big letters and the way they spell it back. This app has my approval..Version: 0

Very GoodMy 3 yr old really likes this game. Which the free version had more words, but it definately makes me want to buy the full game..Version: 0

Gus boiMe likely Funny.Version: 7.1.2

I DONT RATE APPS but...I have never bothered to rate apps and I am a mac user since 1992. But this app… watching my 1.5 year old swipe and drag letters is amazing different levels. A 1.5 yr old can do this and that this app is so easy for them to learn the future… Nothing I learned in college could have prepared me for this..Version: 4.4

ExelentExelent.Version: 0

Awesome app!My 1 year old LOVES THIS! And her older siblings who are learning to read love this too! Even my 11 year old likes to sit with his little sister and play this game. Haha. I got first words animals and I wish I would have just got splurged and got first words pro. I didn't realize there was so many first words. I also have bob books apps and my kids love those too!.Version: 4.3

Excellent app!My 18 month old daughter can spell! This app is excellent!.Version: 0

Word game rateIt is realy good for my 2 year old triplets wich are girls..Version: 7.0

Wonderful, but crashes. My friend who is 4 loves this. She's like my lil sis and I'll do anything to make her happy. Thankfully, this does that for me. She loves this app! But it only works 3 out of every 5 times I use it. I've reinstalled, restarted, and turned off/on. It still only loads sometimes. Please fix it, I hate seeing her disappointed!.Version: 0

GreatKids love it, spell in English and German. Fun, education and entertainment all in one app..Version: 4.1

Great app!Cannot fault a thing about this app except the steep price of the deluxe version compared to most kids apps. In saying that my 2.5 yr old son really loves it, he is learning new words and feels so proud of himself for getting them right so it was a good purchase..Version: 7.0

My 2 years old can spell "bird".After using this app for a week, my 2 years old can spell "bird"!!!.Version: 4.0

Awesome.I have 2 year old twins, both language delayed and one under the autism spectrum... They love this game and it has helped with increasing language and matching letters..Version: 0

Arje's MimiArje loves playing all the versions of FirstWords games - we started with the free version, but have downloaded the animal, vehicles & things around the house games also. At age 3, he is able to spell and read the words he has learned in these games. HIghly recommend as both fun and educational!.Version: 0

RashGood.Version: 4.1

My Toddler Loves this App!My 17 month old absolutely loves this app. I thought it might be too advanced for him but with a little help from mom it keeps him entertained, laughing and learning. This is my go-to app if we are stuck in line and I need to keep him occupied. It is a high quality app I can feel good about sharing with my child..Version: 0

Awesome app.2 yr old <3 itIt would be great if it had two levels. The second level would only let them put the letters in order..Version: 4.3

My little sister loves this gameMy little sister loves this game alot but i wish it said the word first so she could sound it out before she put the letters in order.Version: 0

Great appMy 2 year old loves it..Version: 4.2

Da Bes!Perfecto!.Version: 4.1

Fantastic appThey aren't kidding when they say "If your child is old enough to ask for your phone, they are old enough for FirstWords: Sampler". My kids started playing this game at 3 years old, and a year later they STILL love playing. I just bought the next version so they could have some new words. I don't think they will be getting tired of this game any time soon, and I love that they are practicing their letters, learning simple words, and having fun all at once. It's one of the best toddler games I've found..Version: 4.0

Really goodI use this app with my 12 year old child that has special needs. It's a great way to learn sight words! They are basically just matching the letters and dragging them to the correct spot. I like how the word is spelled after the puzzle is solved and the animation is a great reinforcer. I am upgrading today to deluxe..Version: 0

My 2yr old twin boys LOVE it!!I got this for my 2yr old boys since they love playing with my phone. This helps me keep them entertained for a long time while i do whatever i need to do. I will def. get the paid version!!.Version: 0

My kids REALLY enjoy this app!I have had this app for several months and my kids are still using it. I am now upgrading to the full version to keep the interest going!.Version: 4.2

Excellent drill on early language skillsSimple to use. Pronunciation is very clear and good volume. Illustrations are very inviting (though not entirely realistic). Some of the sounds are clearly authentic. Some may not be. Animation of the illustrations is not realistic. (They all twirl and get larger. None do more than that.) Surprisingly, the five options available in the paid apps are not present in this free sampler. The series of apps introduced by this sampler is the best I've seen in the App Store for early reading skills. (But admittedly, I haven't looked at all that many.).Version: 0

Great learning tool!My 2.5yr old loves this app. He started using it a few months ago and was able to work through it on his own. Nice work on developing an associative learning tool..Version: 0

Love itWe love it my daughter thinks its the best I just wish it was still free because my mother in-law has it but didn't have to pay to I went to get and it's a smaller version.Version: 4.1

The kids love it! I would recommend it for age 3-6 yearsKeeps them entertained and concentrating. Good letter recognition skills. Can be tailored to younger kids with shorter words and letters in any order, then older kids can use left to right..Version: 4.0

My daughter likes it but there are only a few words u will have to end up buying it to getMy daughter likes it but there are only a few words u will have to end up buying it to get more words but visually more appealing and with sounds too..Version: 4.4

The kids love it...... But my two suggestions: 1: Include an option to hear the phonetic sound so that the kids understand that each letter makes a sound and putting the sounds together creates a word. 2: The twirling picture when the word is made looks kind of ADD- inducing to me. Just my opinion. Could you make a less dizzying effect?.Version: 0

Very goodGood for kids.Version: 4.2

Leightons mummyVery good my boy loves it.Version: 4.1

Still playingMany of the apps we try just come and go with little interest. This is one my son continues to use. The skill is generalized to other apps too. Great starter app for toddlers or special needs reading..Version: 4.4

CoolThis is good for my 5 year old cousin that only name how to spell hi.Version: 7.1.2

This app is greatI love how this app allows children to learn words one letter at a time. The fact that there is no time limit gives kids as much time as they need. Most importantly, it doesn't make a sound when the kid makes a wrong choice. My son would totally stim out on any sound the app makes, so limiting the auditory stimuli to correct responses is a huge help. Thanks..Version: 4.4

Love this app!!My 3-year-old goes back to this app over and over again. He loves it! He knows the alphabet already and knows the names of things, but is now learning how to spell them!!.Version: 4.4

One of my sonMy toddler son loves your game, as do I. He very quickly learned to move the tiles to the correct location. We have tried another game that the letters are jig saw puzzles and the interface fights against your efforts to land the piece in the correct location. Great job on your part. He is also saying the names of the items after just a couple of days of playing with this app for 4 to 5 minutes a day. Thanks for a great program and keep up the good work..Version: 0

First WordsGreat app - my 2 year old daughter loves it! I would have given it 5 stars, but I don't like the fact that you have to pay a hefty price for the "real" version...however, it's certainly been worth the money, seeing how much my daughter enjoys this app and how much she's learning!.Version: 4.4

Excellent fun & educational game for little ones!My daughter who just turned two loves this game -- she quickly picked up how to move the letters and gets a kick out of the animal sounds. I've downloaded about a dozen different games for her, and definitely this is one of the best ones and I don't feel guilty letting her play it because she is learning about letters and spelling. Obviously, I recommend the full version since it's not that expensive and it gives you more animals, but the free version lets you test it out before you buy..Version: 0

Great for kidsMy daughter is almost 3, she loves this application. We've tried a few and she's not that intereted but this one is so interactive and easy to use for kids this age. Love it!.Version: 0

Excellent AppMy 14 month old baby loves this app! She enjoys playing with this especially when she hears the sound everytime she solves the puzzle. Will be buying the Fun Version Deluxe for her. Thanks!.Version: 4.4

AwsomeThis game is awsome, my two year old nephew loves it and plays it every night. He can read and spell all of the words on it. I do wish the words got harder though cause it's getting too easy for him. And I wish it got where it didn't show where the letters went either cause thats too easy now too. But it's defenatly worth it!!.Version: 0
