✓ Tread carefullyI've just spent a week travelling around France, and thought this app would be perfect. Sadly it's not. I've given it 2 stars as the functionality and useability is very good, and because it has great potential. There are nice features, such as you can add a picture to a word and you can flip the French/English translations around easily. However, if I was giving a star rating on value alone it would be a one star. The price is too high for what you get. The big issue is that there is just not enough depth to the grammar and words in the app. I used it predominantly for ordering food off menus, tourist info and shopping. I would estimate it had 35/40% of the words I needed. I could get by, but often needed to ask, which defeated the object really. Wait until there is a new release or the price is more reasonable..Version: 0
✓ OverpricedI guess I shouldn't use the price of the app to indicate the depth of the product. Well, they got me this time. Not what I expected. The words in this dictionary are mostly what British English speakers use. As an American, I didn't realize that we have such different vocabularies. This is especially apparent in the quiz feature, which must have been designed to make idiots feel smart. I didn't exactly buy this app for the quiz feature, but there it is, and I love the idea of it. The quiz interface is quite fun to use, but maybe it should filter out words that are spelled the same in both English and French. Also, any dictionary should include the phonetic pronunciation for the words, and the proper preposition which follows, for French. The conjugation feature is nice, but lacks depth, for an app of this price. There is a phrase feature, which also lacks depth. Keep looking for a better dictionary..Version: 0
✓ OK but needs a larger dictionaryI've been trying to use this app in France. Words are often not on the dictionary, or only have one or two interpretations when five or six are needed. More examples of word usage is also needed. Often there are none. I now use another French dictionary app, and only occasionally refer to this one for a possible alternative explanation. This app is really only useful if you are wanting to use a few basic phrases..Version: 6.2.71

✓ Slick interface, poor dictionaryThe interface is great, but the word list and definitions are poor. Of the first dozen words I tried to look up, 4 were missing or incorrectly defined. For example: "bouffer" is "to eat", not "blouse; "se pointer" and "étriper" just don't exist; "pu", the past participle of "pouvoir" is also not found. The Larousse dictionary (at just over half the price) finds three of the four above..Version: 5.3.12

✓ This dictionary isn't for everybodyI purchased this app about two months ago for English to French translation. It is an extremely helpful dictionary if you are a beginning to intermediate speaker of French and you'll rave about it. However, if you are a fluent speaker like myself, you'll find that its performance in finding difficult words in standard French and words in regional dialects (i.e. Québécois, Suisse romand, etc.) will be very disappointing. Out of the last ten words I checked in this dico, seven of them were not in it. Recap: Beginning to intermediate speaker: Absolutely Advanced to fluent speaker: À éviter.Version: 5.3.12

✓ ReviewThis looks like a good dictionary but it has many faults. It does not provide the gender of French words, which is something a dictionary must have. I could not find the French words for "spoon" or for "fireplace" on a recent search. There are probably other omissions if you care to look for them. A good idea that got sloppy..Version: 5.3.12

✓ Suddenly no audioI downloaded because i saw all the nice review. Just a few days it suddenly has no audio. I tried to delete and download again. It didn't change. That's frustrating. I wouldn't pay that money for such a trash. Many free apps work better than that..Version: 6.2.71
✓ Avoid thisThis is not worth the money. Very little content in grammar and phrases section. Some translations are simply wrong ("allumer" does not mean "turn off"!) and some french words mis-spelt ("echouter"?). This was not created by a french speaker and cannot be relied on..Version: 0
✓ Disappointing appI read a fair amount of French. I bought this app in order to look up words that appear, for example, in journalistic writing. Unfortunately, I often cannot find a word that appears to be commonly used in written French. When this happens, I go on line to look for the meaning and almost always find it. Perhaps I would be happier with this dictionary if my French were at a more elementary level. It does a nice job, for example, with the various conjugations of verbs. For others, I would suggest they look elsewhere for a better French-English dictionary app..Version: 6.2.71
