✓ More is lessThe game was 4 star for sheer simplicity. By updating the game and adding more "obstacles", it's made the game imbalanced. Before you had to strike a balance with speed. Go too fast and you may hit one of the small falling ships or misstime a jump into a building. Go too slow and you fall when jumping. Now they've added ships that cut a building in two, making the jump across ridiculously hard, buildings that collapse which are either too long or a poor height to jump off. The new billboard to jump onto is just asthetically unpleasant. All this game required was a variety of different backgrounds to reward you on your journey similar to sheeplauncher..Version: 0

✓ Ok for a short timeIf you look at the screenshots, well that is exactly what you get. There's nothing else to see. The game has you automatically running along and you just touch the screen to jump over obsticles and gaps. That's it. There is no more. ✓ Overpriced & overratedDon't mind retro, been playing games since the late 70's don't mind simple b& w graphics, don't mind simplistic one- button gameplay. But can't excuse poor framerate that blurs the scrolling and makes it hard to play especially when the game gets faster. This game should run at 50/60 gps and be ultra smooth. ✓ Badly needs an update.Canabalt is a great game that I've been playing for years, but it needs an update. In its current state, it's optimized for iOS8 and it runs at a pitiful amount of frames per second on later versions, even on recent iphones. ✓ Passable, but far from perfectI thoroughly enjoyed Canabalt in its Flash incarnation, and found it really addictive. Have I had that experience with the iOS version? Yes, but less so. It's important to note that due to the iPod screen, the game is not as wide as the Flash game, or at least the version I played. This means upcoming jumps are harder to plan for, and as such you need to be much better with your jumps. It's also a bit pricy for what you get, so for anyone looking for a lot of content will be severely disappointed. As another user noted, the sound effects currently do not work post-iOS5, which can make the game even harder to play as you're missing the sound cues for some obstacles..Version: 1.6

It's interesting how a number of hand picked reviews used as the description can so easily sway the opinions of buyers. This game lacks any real story, direction, or evolution of gameplay. All you do is tap the screen repeatedly. Granted, story isn't entirely neccessary, however the game doesn't have much going for it. The only thing that varies is the few songs you're given to listen to. Aside from that, same gameplay, same graphics, same mechanics, same environment, over and over and over again. And sometimes impossible to know if you should slow down (hit the boxes) or speed up - until you see the next building - by which time you've gone splat against a wall. ✓ Good idea but...The current version contains a bug that means there are no sound effects in iOS 5. This severely impacts on gameplay as sound effects are a critical part of the feedback for what is about to happen next. Also, the game is on the pricey side given the simple nature of the design and experience. Otherwise this game is neat looking in the old 8-bit style, and a fun way to pass a few minutes - or a few tens of minutes! Fix the bug and I'll rate it 4 stars. Peer to peer gaming would also be a fantastic addition to the game....another good addition would be making use of the tilt feature would be good, say for longer jumps etc. And being able too view the leaderboards after dying would be good... ✓ Solid, but has a way to go to be great.Good game that can be a ton better with some very simple additions/fixes 1. Needs levels. Scenery gets boring pretty quickly and lacks a sense of accomplishment 2. Needs a pause game 3. Needs more varitey to the buildings. Again gets boring really fast. 4. The jumping should be more sensitive to touch and swiping. The simplicity of the controls is great, but too simple. 5. I'd prefer the controls to be off to one side. ✓ Latest update is a complete fail...Firstly, they changed the gameplay without giving us the option of playing the classic original game instead. (See Doodle Jump to see how this SHOULD be done.) Secondly, they screwed up the long-awaited Leaderboards which everyone had been waiting for by not showing us our OWN position in the charts! Who wants to see OTHER people's scores, without seeing where we sit amongst them? *** "Game over. Here's a bunch of people you've never heard of who played better than you. Better luck next time." *** (See Parachute Panic to see how this SHOULD be done.) Additionally, our previous local high scores are not copied across to the new online scoreboards, so as far as submitting our high scores is concerned, we have to start again from scratch. If you had some nice high scores from before that you wanted to show off, you can forget about it. And to top it all off, it allows more than one score from one person to be recorded on the leaderboards, leading to many instances of the same name being repeated. All-in-all, the leaderboards that we have been waiting for for so long, although implemented, are a huge fail..Version: 0

✓ Overrated!!!I bought this game because I've heard a lot about it online, but I must say I was underwhelmed. For $3, this game just doesn't give you enough value. You run, you jump, you die, you repeat. I know that's the drawn but there are plenty of $.99 apps that offer simple endless running gameplay. This really needs some variety to justify the price. I'm intrigued by the sci-fi imagery and the robots in the background, but we'll never know what's going on because there's no setting established and you certainly can't progress to the next level to find out what's going on. You just run till you die. The one bright spot is the music, which is sweet, but is it worth $3? Not in my opinion. Try Monster Dash; it's cheaper and more fun..Version: 0
✓ Update for iPhone X and Up?I utterly adore both Canabalt and Hundreds on iOS, I really do. However both games desperately need a very simple update for users of iPhone X and up. Please note that I’m not necessarily asking for the game to be displayed across the entire screen space of Apple’s latest iPhones like you did with Heist (although that would be even better), however so many really cool games that haven’t been updated in the last couple years now PERMANENTLY display the time, network/WiFi reception strength and battery details on the side of the screen on iPhone X and newer. Yes, even WHILE IN GAME. There’s just no way to manually hide these details at the users end and it’s incredibly annoying and immersion breaking. I’ve spoken to several other devs, and apparently all it takes is swinging a very straightforward update over to Apple HQ, and a few days later, Hey Presto, it’s all sorted. It really would mean the world to your real fans with iPhone X and up. Right now, I’m giving just three stars, but I will gladly bump my rating straight back up to the five stars the actual game deserves and submit a fresh review if this gets sorted. In the meantime, I’ll be keeping my fingers firmly crossed. Often obstacles or jumps are set up in impossible (or near-impossible) configurations by whatever random function makes the board. Games quickly become just surviving until an "unfair" jump comes.
