✓ Good practice toolThe best part about this app is that the different beats are looped over and over again so that you can just play along with the beat on your kit and won't have to think about restarting any track on your device. It's simple and effective. Yes, all this information is floating around out there for free, but all of this compiled in one simple app makes it a great way to practice. ✓ This type of app is why I bought my iPad.Like the title says - ever since I saw the iPad, having had an iPhone, I knew what program needed to be made to help me with my drumming. This app is excellent, not just good or great. I put my iPad up on the music stand, right in front of my vision, pick a beat or a rudiment, and just play to the beat. Suggestions: - I'm not sure (yet) if you can change the tempo of the included beats / rudiments, but I'm still playing around. - Longer beats and/or the ability to import beats (notation, tabs, etc). ✓ Awesome app for serious drummersAnyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of drumming and do more than just "hit things with sticks" should buy this app. Great tool for students just learning to play and read rhythms or anyone wanting the information to hone thier skills. The audio makes it easy to learn even if you can't read music yet. But if you can't read music, I suggest you start learning you lazy slacker. People aren't going to take you seriously..Version: 0
✓ Brilliant!A very informative drum rudiments book/app it may have them all or not I do not know as I am not a very experienced drummer but as a reference tool in your pocket that has two examples of say a funk beat or a bossa which you can see and hear if you wish. ✓ Great appI rated this app a 5 because not only did the developer contact me in less than 24 hours, but the issue many are requesting- tempo adjustment- is being worked on as we speak & will be out with next update. There are other good apps out there as well, but adding tempo brings this up a level-it ahould be out with next update. As far as crashing, I have not had any problem with this. If you say you do, it must. I have found a reinstall will fix some issues. It also can be an ios issue or a carrier problem, i suggest contacting developer, if it is an issue, he may not be aware, but on my Apple 4s, with ios 6, it runs fine. thank you. This is a great app with a variety of patterns. What is missing, & very important to me, is the ability to increase or decrease tempo when listening to, or learning a rhythm. I am not great at reading & that's why slowing down would be so helpful. Is this possible, otherwise, everyone, it is a great app with many rhythms. Thank You.Version: 2.3.1

✓ Fab!Make it so the notes light up so you know which one is playing, that's the most standard thing of any digital drum tuition thingy like this should do! That's the first thing that needs adding to this app. Then add more beats, some examples from classic tracks with interesting drums would be cool, I could list a whole bunch which are really interesting and challenging to learn like for example When The Levee Breaks by Led Zeppelin, Don't Lose My Number by Phil Collins, etc things like that simple beats yet tricky for the brain to play so good practice. ✓ Great at first glance... ButThis app really needs the ability jto change tempo on samples. Also some more beat examples are needed to round off what is a somewhat limited selection. Lastly some fills would also be nice with notes x-referencing the best beat combos to get beginners and intermediate drummers off to a good start. ✓ YesI'm a middle school band director with a jazz band (occasionally two). My students use two electric kits with headphones to practice on. When they are ready to join the band I let them play the acoustic set. I've always taught drummers through grooves and fills. This app is awesome for a young player! It has a variety of styles. I just want MORE grooves. There's 2-5 for each style. For example, a young player needs to learn coordination on 8th note rock grooves. There's only 5 grooves for this offered. I would love to see 40+ in additive combinations with syncopated, then dotted quarter. And if you add 1,2, and 3 bar fills I will be VERY grateful :).Version: 3.2

I've been learning to play drums for a few years and bought many different books etc but as this app is on the iPhone it plays the beats and has also how each beat should be played all in one place. My only criticism is on some of the jazz beats I can't hear the bass drum being played or the high hat when open. Perhaps this is beyond the capability of the iPhone? ✓ A good app.A very handy app for carrying and practicing your rudiments. As well as all 40 drum rudiments, it has a well-chosen selection of basic beats that can be viewed by style or time signature. In addition to the notation and sticking patterns you can also listen to each pattern. You can bookmark any beat and add it to your favourites for easy access. Some slight improvements would be : - the navigation can be slightly awkward as you need to go in and out of each pattern - a next/previous or scroll facility would make it even better - unlike the single rolls, the double rolls are not fully notated (this might be due to the size constraints) - I couldn't find a way to vary the BMP when playing the examples In terms of wish-list, if the author could add a variable metronome, especially one that could be programmed to speed up / down in incremental steps every few bars it would greatly add to the app and make it a very useful training aid. More basic drum patterns would also be lovely. All in all a good application..Version: 0
✓ Great appIf you are a beginner or consider yourself to be a more advanced drummer and want to learn drum notation then you won't need another app. This app covers a lot of grooves , yes granted there could be more, and the ability to change tempo would be great but there is more than enough for the average drummer to play and repeat and actually be able to see the notation to what they are playing, in my view this is the best way to learn. I have used the word beginner here a few times, don't be mistaken this app would be appreciated be all those want to learn how to read drum music , again I think more drummers would come to see that it's not too difficult to pick up and understand the flexibility to use this ability.
