✓ Nice graphics, controls....not so muchAfter playing this game ALOT, I still cant master the controls for whatever reason. I did manage to make my own team which was pretty sweet. If you have your fav NHL teams logo you can put that on their sweaters and the game embeds the image when your home at center ice. If the Developers can fix the quirky controls this game would be much better. Still wish the iPhone had NHL 2010 or something similar. In the meantime this is definitley worth the price.... By the way the blutooth multiplayer doesnt work and now the game crashes alot.Version: 0

I grew up on table top Hockey...I couldn't see how you could replicate the control action, yes it all seems strange and even frustrating at first...but be PATIENT, just pay attention to the tutorial, stay cool...let it happen. After awhile without even noticing I found myself savagely immersed in my first game and it all felt like I was playing the real deal...not sure how or why, but it all feels good to me. Extra nice that I can choose the Soviets, I'm them a lot....shhhhhh, don't tell nobody. As for NHL teams...I was so hoping this game would include them....that's where the beauty of customizising comes into play, just go find the logos online, save them in photos....have fun, I know I sure is! 👍🏾.Version: 1.4.5

I love the custom team builder, I used it to create all 30 NHL teams and my friends and I have played over 1000 games on it, which if you break it down means each game cost 1/5 of a penny, quite a better deal than at an arcade. The only thing I find annoying is how you select the teams. Sometimes it can take forever for the team you want to scroll across, it would be great if you (the developers) could put in a system where the user scrolls to select the teams, like NHL10 or most other sports games. ✓ AmazingFor a game that hasn't had an update since March 2013 this is one of the most solid apps I have ever had throughout the years. I play it almost everyday. Controls really embrace the touch screen abilities (you should clean your screen every now and again to get a better grip). I know it is International Hockey but I would like to have a Season mode, a real shootout mode (were we can control the goalie) and for the teams to have skill levels. Also would be nice to pick a set position and have AI help, The option to switch sides and a customize mode so we can place players where we want (not important just would be cool).Version: 1.4.5

✓ Awesome!I've waited a long time for a decent hockey game on the iPhone. So far most have been lacklustre air hockey games, or hockey games with only a couple of players on the ice, and with terrible graphics. This is the first game I've got which has been worth the time. It takes a bit of getting used to, control-wise but after a few games you get the hang of it. I really like the customise option - I've created a Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames team so that some great nw division rivalry can be had :-) Great fun and worth every cent!.Version: 0
✓ He shoots! He scores!If you don't like this game, you've obviously never played rod or bubble hockey. It's not supposed to be a hockey sim; it's supposed to be a sim of an arcade game. I had a rod hockey game when I was growing up. I've always wanted a bubble hockey game for my basement, but those can cost upwards of $1,000. Now I have an amazing re-creation in the palm of my hand. The graphics, sound, and physics are all very authentic. The controls may take some getting used to, but so do the rods on an actual, physical version you might find in an arcade, and once you get the hang of it, this game quickly becomes addictive and compelling. Also, the customization options seem virtually endless. I've had a lot of fun just importing various logos and doing my best to duplicate the uniforms of my favorite pro and college teams. ✓ Love itThis game is great! The only problem is that you can't do season mode. Probably because no real players. If this game also had penalties, it would be great! One time, I was playing and I won 4-1. Blowout! It also is great because you can make teams. I made a team called Warner Bros. (The logo is the Warner Bros. logo.), a team called the Bruins, a team called Candy Doodle, and a team called the Capitals. I also have over 30 goals for my center, and my goalie's GAA is like 1.29. ✓ The net needs workIn sniper mode I have 21 as my high score but as I try to set a new record I found a few bugs. 1) when ever u hit the puck hard and it hits dead on in the middle of the net the puck come back out. 2) somtimes when the puck is spining end over end and it hits the right side of the net it will go right through the net. And some more things that u could add in is, NHL teams, a reset button in sniper so when u miss the net it doesn't take so long to reset, take out the time in sniper that it takes for the puck to get to u which is like 1.5 seconds and if there is any get rid of the glitchers..Version: 0

✓ Addictive, Nails The BasicsThis game absolutely nails the basics of bubble hockey- there isn't much like it, and if you have ever played bubble hockey in your life, you owe it to your childhood to immediately buy and play this game. The physics are fairly accurate, and you will be surprised that a lot of (but not all) of your old, unused bubble hockey skills translate over to this wonderful little game. The ability to add custom teams (which you'll probably add NHL teams using) is just icing on the cake. There are some drawbacks however- you can't really move the puck with players as quickly as in real life without losing the puck, you can't easily handle the puck as in real bubble hockey, and the spinning to hit shots is wildly inconsistent- sometimes you'll hit your sweet spot and rocket a shot home far side- other times that same shot will go wide, or even travel at half the speed for no reason. Still, with a tournament mode and multiplayer, if you have ever played bubble hockey, you absolutely need to give this addictive little gem a shot..Version: 1.4.5

✓ SuperbI can only think that the reason there are no reviews for this game yet is that once you download it you simply can't put it down! Having never played table hockey (wrong side of the Atlantic) I don't think I'm in a position to compare this favorably or unfavorably against the original; but I will say this - if real table hockey is anywhere near as fun as Stinger for the iPad then I need to invest in some premium gaming space! The game comes packaged with a huge selection of different national teams, including some that aren't exactly famed for their hockey teams - hence, you too can now play out the bitter rivalry between Georgia and New Zealand! Not to worry though, there is a fairly robust team creation system that allows you to create the entire NHL and more. I'm up to 41 teams so far and still no sign of reaching a limit. You can also kit out your teams with logos of your choice taken from your iPad photo library. Provided you have a decent picture with relevant transparency (tip-Wikipedia is your friend) then you can create some relatively accurate likenesses with which to take to the ice. The gameplay itself is surprisingly simple. You drag the player up and down his runner by tracing vertically across the screen, and spin him by tracing horizontally. The controls can take a bit of getting used to as they are very responsive and a little fiddly at first, but soon, with a little patience you'll be smashing spinning backhanders from the wing and setting up one timers like a pro. Graphically the game is excellent. It is crystal clear, smooth and with a hint of lag, graininess or glitch. Naturally, you're never going the mistake the somewhat blocky players for the real thing, but there is something rather charming about the simple, cartoony and colorful presentation. The 'ice' has a nice sheen to it and the player models, puck and rink have enough detail to do the job. Sound wise there isn't a lot to write home about, but then again there is nothing you could really want for. The puck makes an authentic (presumably) clacking noise on the ice and sticks, pucks ring satisfyingly off the post and the goal horn sounds when you hit the twine. Aside from the obligatory 'single game' mode, there is a tournament mode and a skills challenge to get your teeth into, as well as a tutorial mode which fires up the first time you play to get you up to speed. A more in depth season mode would have been nice, and although the tournament is a welcome distraction, a proper full blooded playoff mode would really help. There is also multiplayer, but I'm unfortunately unable to review it as of yet - 'fancy a game of virtual table hockey' only generates confused stares around these parts! In all this is a fantastic little game and more than worth the asking price considering the hours you will waste away playing. ✓ A must-have, just get it now!Not only is it visually stunning, with an appearance that will shock you when you see it for the first time, but it's the only game app on my phone that I play every day... several games. Maybe a whole tournament (at least 7 games). This is worth a lot more than they charge. The only complaint I have is that the tuning of the controls changed when the app was updated to support the iPad. The first version that came out after that was unplayable on an iPhone, at least by anyone who had been playing it previously. However that was quickly addressed with another update, supporting user adjustments to the control sensitivities for forward/backward and rotation. It took a bit of experimenting to find something similar to the original excellent default tuning. So if you try it, out of the box you might love it except for the controls, if so, don't loose faith. I've set mine to Slide: 80 and Spin: 17 and the spin might be a bit too sensitive still, but those aren't bad places to start your experiments. Oh one other suggestion, try setting the puck to Grippy. I find it's more realistic in terms of real hockey, perhaps not as realistic as the bouncy pucks would be for table hockey, but I find "Grippy" to be more than enough bounce and slide. Overall, should you get this? Absolutely. It's amazingly great. I'm about to download the latest update which has fixes for the other two areas that could probably use a tweak: puck handling by the computer, and (as is always the case for hockey games) smarter defensive AI. As mentioned, the controls are not perfect, and they really must add goalie control. But the gameplay is well done, and the customization is an excellent feature. I love that you can customize your own team uniform and name, that it has practice modes to develop skills, even different layouts i.e. left wing or right wing forechecks, puck action options. I've owned the iPad 1 since the day it was released and now an iPad 2. In my year of iPad ownership I have never been so satisfied by a game. I love it, but have one suggestion....When I would play SuperChexx bubble/table hockey in arcades as a kid, i remember how the right wing for each team would be positioned in a way to have a much longer stick and blade. because of this, one could use physics to have that player have the most control over the puck, and often the hardest shots, giving more of a skill element to the game (as opposed to luck). That said, I am thoroughly satisfied with my $1.99 purchase of Stinger Table Hockey. As others have already stated, the controls take a little time to master, but this is to be expected with any game. I loved this kind of hockey when I was a kid and this game is a nice implementation of the real thing. Besides the great graphics, I love the customization options with creating teams, modifying their uniforms, and even modifying the rink. Another great feature is the stats that it keeps. It gives you a chance to keep track of how great or mediocre you are... So far, I've only won a few games outright on easy mode though I have several OT wins. If you expect to win every time (as I think so many people who write bad reviews do), you will be sadly disappointed. I've gotten better with practice on this game and enjoy it more now that I've figured out better ways to score. Buying this game is money well spent. Enjoy..Version: 0
