β Does what Apple should haveThe only reason I did not give this app five stars is that it does not record video, or work in landscape mode. However, it takes much more accurate selfies with the front camera by allowing you to see exactly how it will come out rather than flipping it after the fact or mirroring you in the final picture. I use this almost exclusively for selfies. I just wish they would consider adding the video and landscape mode features.Version: 1.19

β More than is immediately obviousThe most obvious use of this app is as a mirror. You get your choice of the geometry of a glass mirror, or the geometry of an external observer's view, where your right ear will be on their left. But it's a mirror, and like real mirrors, it doesn't take photos, or video clips, or sing your favorite disco songs. Well actually, it will take a photo and add it to your camera roll, if there's information in the current view you'd like to refer to later. But wait β there's more! You can use the front camera or the rear one, turn on your iPhone's flash or not, and stretch the image to see a closeup with good resolution. That flexibility allows you to use the app to read the teeny-tiny serial number on a poorly-lit piece of equipment, for instance β a job which would otherwise require a flashlight, a magnifying glass, and three hands. Save the image to the camera roll, and transcribe the identifiers later, or mail the photo to the vendor's tech support person. This developer makes well-designed, useful tools to solve real problems gracefully. I've bought 5 of them, and find them all useful β frequently, or rarely. β Why aren't I photogenic?Because you made yourself up or combed your hair while looking at a mirror image. This is an inverted or flipped image of what you see in photos of yourself, which is what people really see when they look at you. I'd been combing my hair the wrong way for years until I used True Visage. Now, what I see when I get ready is what I see in photos taken of me, or video. No more surprises, and I can make sure I look my best in photos and to other people. Highly recommend this app!.Version: 1.10.3

β It's weird but nice!It's weird to see your picture or your face with the things around you in the right places, instead of the opposite. I thought I would see a very different kind of how I look like to other people than what I always see myself in an ordinary mirror, but I don't think that there's a big difference on how you look at yourself in the mirror than in a true mirror. β Great and simple. Only one thing lackingLove this app. Autofocus is good. You can switch between front and back cams. Absolutely great for using as a webcam with quick time on Mac or as a second camera on zoom. But I would pay extra to be able to switch between the two (or in some cases, three) rear cameras. β The best mirror app by far!While other mirror apps can only reflect your image like a mirror does, this app enables you to see yourself the way other people do. You could pay $200 for a true mirror, as they are called, or get this app for free. What makes this app truly great, even revolutionary, is that if you have to apply makeup or trim your nose hair or do anything else to your face, this makes it completely easy. In regular mirror apps, you run into the same difficulties you do with a real mirror: try to move your hand left, and it goes right in the mirror and makes it really hard to do anything. β Gives a true image, shame about geeky GUIIf you activate the photo app on your iPad you get a mirror image because that's what feels natural to people. When you click shoot it will take a photo and reverse the image. With this app can see a normal it true mirror image in real time, and it's interesting how different one looks in real images. You can also take a photo of yourself and get a more consistent end product because it doesn't switch. Shame about crappy user interface. Eg as far as I can tell you can't quit this app, you have to click out by hitting the iPads switch app key, then double click it to bring up the running apps list, then close it from there. On the hand hand you can send images to Facebook and adjust the screen brightness and do other stupid geeky things like that, so nerds and losers might like the GUI which was clearly written by IT types..Version: 1.7.3

β Perfect for iPhone4 and iPod 4th genThe front facing camera lends itself so easily to be a mirror. True Visage does just that and more. You can see a mirror image of yourself straight away. You can also switch to a normal image and back at a tap. You can also switch cameras from front to back plus mirror image your existing camera roll pictures. The interface is absolutely clean and lets you save what's on your screen to your camera roll. Plus the best part is this app is free and has no ads. What more would you want from a mirror? β Great App, Want Manual FocusGreat app, but I wish it could also be set for manual focus only by tapping an area of the video, rather than auto focus. Using this to stream video to a computer for live-streams and the auto focus can cause the image to briefly blur. Otherwise this app is amazing, no on screen icons which is perfect..Version: 1.10.3

β Really coolI don't think people understand how cool this app is. It basically shows you a "true reflection" of yourself and therefore you can view yourself exactly how other people see you (something a normal mirror doesn't do). The forward facing camera on the iphone 4 works just as a mirror would in real time which is why the picture flips after you take the shot. This app allows you to see, in real time, how other people see you and shows you a new perspective of yourself. I suppose normal webcams automatically do what this app does and I've never understood why the forward facing camera on the iPhone acts more like a mirror than a camera....Version: 1.7.5
