✓ GreatI have revised my review from awful to great. They fixed the app so it now runs well on my iPhone and iPad. I enjoy reading the tech news and the occasional great deal offered on tech devices. Update. I still enjoy the app but find it very annoying to use. At some update it was changed so it continues to load data and updates even after you are browsing the articles. The screen hardly ever stops moving. Articles jump from column to column and pages shift up and down. Everything jumps and you have to scroll around to find where you were before it jumped. ✓ Fun and informativeWith this latest update I can read without accidentally clicking on a hyperlink in the article. It was a little irritating to be reading an article and then mid swipe be switched to a different article. I like the ability to switch between newest articles, or specific groups. While it is about technology news, once in a while there will be the random article that doesn’t quite fit until you realize that it involved some piece of tech being used in a strange way..Version: 4.5.1

✓ Want to loveHave always loved CNET content since their early days. I respect the quality of their articles and opinions of their journalists. The app could use some help. It has improved since the latest redesign was released, but for whatever reason it likes to push videos. Articles seem to play the same one or two videos at the top of the screen. On the surface the videos make the site look good, but quickly become a nuisance. They can be minimized, but you need to do that for every article you read. Unfortunately this drives me back to Apple News and away from the CNET app. Just my opinion. You may love it. I wish I did..Version: 4.6.0

I recently downloaded the CNET app and got exposed to the background stories about CV19 and CNET’s take on all that’s going down. ✓ AutoPlaying Videos are FrustratingThe look and feel of the app is the best; You got it down to be really fluid. My only gripe (there will always be a gripe) is that videos AutoPlay too often. It’s repetitive when the same video is posted on the a different article. I wish if the app recognized through our profiles that we have already encountered that video 2x in the same week. For example, this issue is especially prevalent with articles about 5G updates and videos tagged with 5G. That Detroit Automotive Show? I have to make it a point to tap where there is blank screen, otherwise I end up jumping to a linked article. Then you have to delete it and re download it to see current articles, but that deletes all the articles you've saved for future reference! I’m hopeful they’ll listen to this one tiny complaint I still have: there’s no way to increase the font size. Please remove the adverts and the "Related Articles" section from the middle of the news articles. Either post them at the end of the article or take them out altogether please - it really ruins the reading experience when I'm enjoying the article and then have to stop for something that isn't of interest. The design of this app is second to none though, it really blends in with the whole minimalist latest iOS design. ✓ Please keep information updated regularlyI like this app a lot but I think CNET needs to update their app more often because the Sony wireless headphones were the previous best headphones for the sound quality but now the Apple AirPods max are, according to many other online reviews. CNET still says the sonys are the best overall. I saw one product on there and it said updated a year ago. But ok so isn’t the Sonos move the best portable speaker overall? I think it’s better than the rest and mainly 100% due to the fact that’s it’s larger than the rest. But I wonder what the new Sonos s27 product will be and how will it stack up against its competitors? ✓ Perfect internet place to find PerformanceDo you want the latest news on a cell phone, router, computer...? Please use the app or website: CNET. You can save yourself from wasting money or exchanging items. Not all all electronics can be exchanged after 30 days. I expelled money by purchasing the wrong modem plus/router wifi and THEN bought a wifi repeater so I could stream Disney plus. (waste of money on the repeater!) If I had checked with CNET before I purchased Motorola cable modem/wifi router with power boost (where the hell is the power boost located?) I cannot locate it? There isn’t a button or switch!! I would not have to be buying another one a year later. A local store didn’t not explain what download speeds I need to stream videos on my computer much less if need 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz. I only have two things that stop me from giving it full marks: 1) It does not allow for a landscape orientation of articles, which is sometimes more comfortable for reading. 2) It is not battery efficient (not as bad as Facebook, Twitter, or Spotify). I like that CNET just reports the news when politics affect the tech world and journalism included, from social media to print.
