✓ Great for static DisplayVery detailed and great for static display of heart anatomy. Yes, this is a more convenient tool to use with patients/students in identifying details of the anatomy and it beats having to keep texts around to do the same. But lets face facts, the purpose of the iPad is to be more interactive than a book. With the exception of a view video movements, it does not do much more than mimic what I have had in clinic for years, and at half the cost. The video motion detail is nice but fails in anatomic detail. It is missing key components to the flow of blood through the heart and shows nothing more than a normal beating as blood passes through it or the electrical conduction through the bundles. It would be nice if future versions had abnormalities of stenosis, regurgitation, or prolapse so that I do not have to over describe what is happening. It will "Wow" the average person but needs more animation to be completely useful..Version: 1.09
✓ Heart Pro IIIThis app looks a lot better than it is. The manipulation of the heart is very limited and you can only dissect the heart in two cuts. It would be very useful to be able to cut the heart in multiple planes and multiple layers. The information about the structures are very basic, they do not provide any physiological data The videos are pretty cool to look at, with all the limitation mentioned above and you have to pay extra for them. I do not consider this a worthwhile purchase Graham.Version: 3.1
✓ One thing you should know...As a med student, we all have wet lab (cadaver) and can hold the heart in hand. This app gives us the ability to visualize the pathologies in motion...nice! Despite being well designed and implemented, hearing the sounds of the pathologies or far more important than just visuals. Sound is only available in the normal heart. Just so you know. I wish I knew before I purchased the additional content (in-app purchase)..Version: 3.3
✓ WAY TO MUCHIf you are going to have almost nothing included on a initial download of a app. Then make it free with in app purchases. But charging $10 for a app that in order to be useful you have to pay another $10 for a random set of features (you can't even pick what ones you get first). I regret buying this app off the fact that I feel like I was just robbed. Do yourself a favor and seek alternative apps that are free till they decided to make this app not a rip off..Version: 3.8
✓ Alright but expected betterNot really a fan of how laggy the heart rotates. It should be one fluid rotation when you move you finger. I also don't like how it doesn't come with all the animations, which you have to pay 9.99 to get 45 more videos. Quit being greedy 3d4. Other than that the very few animations you get are great and it's a very great visual of the heart. Very informative, just wish they weren't greedy on the animation videos. EDIT: Well I am changing my rating from 4 stars to 1 because I forked over the additional 9.99 for the animations and they still don't give you all of them!! They want ten more bucks for 8 more videos!! What a rip. Don't waste your time with this app. Better features from heart in essential anatomy..Version: 3.7

✓ Need more videosIt pained me after paying $20 for the package, having to pay $10 for the related videos. I needed them so I bought them. My only concern is that there's a few more videos that should be on there. Please look into this. If it's a heart app. Look into as many diseases associated with the heart and post. ✓ It could be so much better!Fantastic graphics. Beyond that, however, this app needs some work. It is very helpful in showing people structures and how blood flows. My suggestion would be that defects and disorders are included. If you could show a patient the normally functioning heart (what the app now offers) and then click and have it switch to a heart with CHF or one that has just experienced an MI, that would be great! Please consider these improvements! This could be a great learning tool. The graphics are so nice that I urge you to not stop at just a simple 3D model...keep going. Also, I too have problems running the app. If you double click the home screen button, all of the currently running apps will pop up along the bottom. Press and hold on one of the apps and them you can actually close out of the running programs..Version: 1.08
✓ Disappointing and expensiveVery basic anatomy and user functionality - you can only see limited views and sections. perhaps useful for showing a patient some relevant anatomy in clinic but apart from that no more than a pretty picture of the heart on the screen that spins around. The resolution has not been optimised for the iPad screen, it looks like it has been enlarged. In summary, for basic students of biology (at school), but not for anyone expecting extensive anatomical detail..Version: 1.07

✓ Buggy with limited worthAs a cardiology fellow, I hoped this app would assist me with learning the vascular and anatomical structures of the heart from different orientations. Unfortunately the app is buggy, limited and not worth 18 dollars. It crashed over and over until I reset my iPad, and even then would occasionally crash or start with a garbled display. Trying to cut through the heart is buggy as well and only works sometimes. The biggest let down of this program is that it is not really 3D rendered on the iPad itself. It is more of a collection of pre-rendered pictures that you rotate through. What this means is that you can only spin the heart, and then turn it to look at the apex or the base- you can't rotate and then angle the shot or free look however you want. You are limited to a few "cut" shots as well and are not able to open the heart where you want. I would not be so hard on this app except for two reasons. First, for 18 dollars I expect a lot more quality and secondly, I absolutely hate seeing fake reviews (like the other two previous reviews). I wish I could have my money back. ✓ DO NOT BUYNo way is this worth $1 let alone $10. I was tricked into buying it thinking it would integrate into the newer program from these developers. This app is obviously on the way out and I wasted $20 (for a bundle of 4) for essentially obsolete apps. I will now ask for my money back. Ripoff. And of course, apple doesn’t let you look for the “most recent” review or even sort by # of stars, obviously in collusion with the app developers to obfuscate how good apps are...starting to really dislike apple (RIP Steve Jobs).Version: 3.8.2

✓ Brilliant animation but lacking in detailThis app looks absolutely brilliant. However, I was really hoping for a greater level of detail, especially in the internal structures of the atria. Great if you're looking to study heart anatomy to a level slightly above the basics and demonstrates well the spacial relationship between major structures. The advanced student however will be disappointed by the lack of detail..Version: 0
✓ Great app, great update, greedy priceEvery app 3D4 makes is gold. I love the Pro series, and Heart Pro is my favorite; this is the app that made me get an iPad. That being said, I cringed when I paid for it the first time, and I'm cringing now that I have to pay $20 more for the updated animations. This is an expensive app to begin with, and I made that purchase with the hope that it would contribute to improvements. I'm really glad to hear the synchronized heart tones, and a little bit of ECG correlation (more of that please!). Unfortunately, I can't speak on the new animations because I can't justify paying more than the app itself for what I can find for free on the internet. Your apps are invaluable, 3D4, just... not $20 valuable, because I, like many of your customers, am a poor med student. You'll get my 5 and maybe more money when the update is dropped to a reasonable price!.Version: 3.0
✓ Very disappointedI have purchased another app from 3D 4Medical that is great. I assumed this app would be as well. Don't buy it. It's okay, but not worth $9.99. -Your text books or other free apps will provide the same information. Once you get into this app, you will find the author wants even MORE MONEY to unlock other aspects to this app. -There are no heart sounds. -There is no systemic circulatory features with this app. It could be so much better. ✓ Won't work on my new iPad and no supportI have downloaded this app on my iPad2 three times, and it has never worked for me. It freezes on the very first screen and never opens. The only advice on their website is to delete and reorder, which I have done with no new result. I can't get a refund, and no one from their customer service has responded to my email (it's been three days). I'm out enough money to be upset. Yes, if it worked it would be a lovely app, but for me it was just throwing money away. iPad2 owners should only download this app if they are willing to risk losing their money..Version: 1.08
✓ Good, over priced for what it comes withI really love this company and all its apps, but this one seems to fall short. I have little problem dropping $20 for an entire system, but $8 or $9 for the heart but the heart acts like a bone... That doesn't do it for me. To look inside there are only 6 views, I would really like a"layer" of the outer part of the heart so you can see all the way inside and interact that way. I was also under the impression that this came with all the veins and arteries, but I can let that go. So please update the looking inside options.Version: 3.1

✓ Waste of Money, few featuresThere are lots of fancy transitions between views, but so much missing. Cross-section view is limited and very poor. No echo views. Lots of expensive add-ons. This is crap and should be offered at no charge. Their essential anatomy app is much better. Too bad it doesn't include more extensive heart anatomy..Version: 3.8

The blood flow videos can be improved by showing the flow better and having textual description to go along with the minimal blue and red dots. Overall level of detail very basic and disappointing. ✓ DisappointedReviews of this app look good. However, limited sounds to app (found two). Have to wear earphones to listen to the sounds, why? Paid the £6.99 to find most of the animations/videos still locked. Ended up paying another £6.99 and still all videos not unlocked. They want a further £6.99 to release more. No extra sounds either, even after paying extra. Graphics good though, but all in all, very disappointed. Feel ripped off! Maybe expectations to high after looking at demos.
