Emulsio 4 › Video Stabilizer for Negative User Reviews

Didn’t workDownloaded it for a video of flowers that was a bit shaky. On the app the stabilized side seems to be smoother. But once download it’s the exact same video with no difference. Also don’t understand why the more “stabilized” the video is, the more zoomed in it is?? Why can’t the original video be stabilized? Strange..Version: 3.6.7

Not worth your moneyI bought it and completely regretted it. Was not as good as I was expecting.Version: 3.1.3

Has potentialUnlike the last reviewer I was able to get this app to complete the process. Unfortunately it doesn't do a very good job. What can you expect for 3 bucks you ask. It did take some of the smaller shake out but any kind of pan or serious movement throws it all out of whack. Potential is there and I hope it gets better..Version: 1.0.2

Dont spend your money! It stabilyse a little but all your vid wave like underwater (iphone 4s and ipad 3)..Version: 1.1.3

Dreadful!Awful app, takes slightly shaky video and turns it into totally un-watchable garbage. It seems to 'stabilise' by randomly cropping and rotating the video, the effect is rubbish, total waste of money..Version: 1.0.2

Not goodIf you want to keep your original video without their logo do not download this app. I am on vacation and I wanted to keep the original video, but see what it looked like with their stabilization. It overrode my original video in my library instead of making a new one and put their dumb logo on it. Now my video is a waste... Thanks for ruining my video..Version: 2.5.8

It works ...Not magic, nothing miraculous. If you're video files don't have too much shake it will rescue them..Version: 2.5.6

No pro pack availableIt does a go job of stabilization with a Gopro video. I would love this app if only I could buy the pro pack with no watermark. It's just not available..Version: 2.5.6

Decreases quality of videoIt works, and I love it, but the quality loss is substantial. Its fine for a quick personal video, but I would not use it it for anything else. Heartbreaking..Version: 3.1.2

Not good with HDR videosAfter conversion The video quality of HDR video it’s bad.Version: 3.6.1

OKUseful app but doesn’t stabilise enough on some videos..Version: 3.6.1

Watermarks original videoDoesn't make a difference to the video and left a watermark over the original video rather than saving as a new video. Crap app..Version: 2.5.5

Needs option for identifying video targetAs-is it is good for minor camera shakes. But it would be 100x better if it had an option to identify the target of the video (user selects target on different frames, and software recenters/crops video to the target. That would rock..Version: 3.1.1

Best stabilization tool I have found.Works Okay, Needs ability to set horizontal and vertical strengths separately so that fast horizontal panning isn't chopped up. I also like that the app isn't a bundle of tools..Version: 1.1.5

TerribleIt overwrites your original video and then saves it with a watermark. Without warning you! Do not download. Awful..Version: 2.5.8

Very disappointedThe "stabilized" videos are next to useless. They look "wavy" and if you move the camera to the sides while filming (say you're panning the image), welcome to Black Border Central. Wish I could get a refund..Version: 1.1

You have to pay that doesn’t workUnless you want a watermark you have to pay for this app. I don’t have a problem with paying for an app when I choose but it should be a cost not download and create a video then find out it has a watermark. Also I’m not sure what I need to do but the app is not stabilizing my video. I used the compare feature and the video is running exactly the same on both sides so not sure what I am doing wrong..Version: 3.5.1

FAKE! App ADDS jitter during “analyzing” so that it can remove itI hate when developers think customers are stupid. I’m not saying that the application does nothing but it is CLEARLY ADDING jitter to my videos just so that it can remove it during “stabilization”. It might actually stabilize...many programs do, but their preview is literally a LIE. Before you give them any money, check your actual video just before previewing it in their app and you will see what I mean. I have plenty of proof if you want to see how they FAKED the jitter in mine. It’s too bad. Would have been willing to work through more of the app, but clearly can’t trust the developer..Version: 3.1.2

Best post capture stabilisation app I've tried!A lot quicker and more user friendly than previous stabilisation apps I've tried. *Since the latest update I can no longer save out video footage I import from ProMovie. I get the error 'Export Interupted, Could not complete export (Interputed or insufficient space) please try again.' This on a 5S on iOS 11.0.2 and with 19GB actually free (not the automatic offloaded apps free space that many 3rd party apps can't see).Version: 2.6.2

WatermarkedAdds a watermark, and deletes the original footage.Version: 2.5.7

WatermarksSaves over original instead of simply duplicating the file, as well as this they add their watermark which can be removed for £2.30. The main gripe is overriding of the original file..Version: 2.5.6

Keep saying ‘export interrupted’Just upgraded to Pro, but couldn’t export any video at all!!!! Fix it plz!.Version: 2.7

BRANDED VIDEO WITHOUT ASKINGI'm appalled that my video now has your company logo and reads "stabilized by..." on it. I can never get this back..Version: 2.5.6

Doesn't really work that well for meLook, this program does work to a degree, but for me it wasn't perfect and certainly not the sort of quality I've experienced on a PC. Not sure, but I couldn't see any rotational stabilisation which is pretty important. The other thing is I saw a bit of distortion on the exported vids. Anyway, it does work a bit, but not good enough if you're serious about videos..Version: 1.1.3

Didn’t do a darn thing. **UPDATE**I bought this to remove the vibrations from video taken from the bleachers during raucous cheering. I would have settled for any visible difference. I saw none. Wasted my money. **My money was promptly refunded upon request. You can certainly give this a try without fear. It may work for you. The vibrations I was trying to reduce were pretty extreme.**.Version: 3.1.4

Results may be more stable, at the cost of......resolution, compression and (bottom line) detail. Videos output look shockingly worse than the source, even with generous bitrate settings. Like a photo that’s been through multiple low quality jpg passes. Feel free to use generously if you don’t care about video quality at all..Version: 3.6.1

It works great......but!!!I was really impressed with this application and it stabilised the videos better than expected. On a minus however after stabilising three 2min videos the app memory footprint on my phone was over 1GB ????.Version: 2.5.3

Poor implementationThere are not enough control options and the user guide is poor. I've tried three videos so far. The first jumps all over the place. The second is more pixelated than the original source and the third moves more than the original. Overall I'm gutted I spent £2 on this as it clearly doesn't work as it should and i want my money back! II can't find any suitable alternatives on iTunes. Should stick to computer software for now. Poor.Version: 1.1.3

Rating PendingAfter many unsuccessful attempts to stabilize any video, I have apparently deleted and re-downloaded the app enough times to allow it to work. In my initial indoor test, the video was stabilized only if the raw video was not moving slightly erratically. I will conduct outdoor test in stronger lighting conditions in order to fully review this application. I really do have high hopes as I am trying to accomplish my goal of an iPhone 4 made video without any other device software needed. I stabilization is necessary and I hope this can fill the shoes..Version: 1.0.2

Just don't waist your moneyActually makes footage worse. Nothing more to say other than 'give me my money back!' Minus 5 stars..Version: 1.1.5

Make footage worse more than it help.It can help stabilize some footage but many are just worse and I am using a gimble..Version: 3.5.1

Hmm... not sure about thisThe ‘Remove Wobble’ button actually seems to ADD wobble, and really bad wobble too..Version: 2.7

Needs Drastic Improvement.I mounted my camera filming in 4K60 onto my Zhyiyun Crane 2 which made the footage buttery smooth... Figured Id Pay the $7.99 to see if this would be like “Warp Stabilizer” in Premiere Pro..... NOT Quite. In fact in made my footage far worse... Worst $7.99 i have ever spent! It added Title, Vibrartion, Rolling onto my footage where there was none before. Not a happy customer..Version: 3.1.1

Nope.Does not work for me. Video looks better BEFORE stabilisation....Version: 2.5.8

ShakingIt also made my mountain bike vids more shaky.Version: 3.1.2

Never worksI'm a 25 year experienced video editor. I just wanted an app to use for video stabilization when it's not important, as in, not a professional video. I've adapted all of the settings and it doesn't appear to be any use. Imagine how bad an app like this has to be if it can't even stabilize a video of the sunset on the ocean. There's a clear horizon and a central point of focus (the sun) and it still doesn't know how to create a truly stable video. My hands were very steady, so the original video is mostly steady, but I wanted tripod-level steady without having to move the video onto my desktop to use real editing software. This should've been the easiest edit ever, but considering this app has always been lacking in ability, I shouldn't be surprised that it couldn't do something as simple as this..Version: 3.6.7

Doesn't workThe app crashes when trying to open camera roll. This makes it a completely useless app, I don't like paying money for broken products..Version: 1.0.1

Lacking for zoom stabilizingThis gets rid of some basic jitter, but I primarily want to get rid of the jolts that can occur when zooming in/out on iPhone, and this app hasn’t been very effective for this, making me opt for FinalCut instead. Would love this extra functionality..Version: 3.6.7

It's good but could so some improvingA nice app that helps me edit my shaky videos without uploading them to my computer first. Does the job okay, but the huge downgrade is the loss of quality you get after exporting the video out of the app. Crisp videos usually end up looking noticeable pixelated which is a huge shame. The videos are still watchable, I can use them in instagram stories for example, but anything more I'd rather use my desktop setup..Version: 3.1.2

Swing, and a missI’m typically a “glass half full” guy, and very seldom pay for apps. We have a small video production company, and thought “why not” to go with what we thought might help for my less-than stable camera skills. Unfortunately, this program just isn’t there yet. Jelly everywhere, irratic focal point, unpredictable horizon. We’re fine because our main video program (FCP on a MacBook Pro) does a fantastic job, but as far as this app? Well, let’s just say I won’t be modifying my “don’t pay for apps” business model anytime soon, because this is pretty-much a complete waste of money. Great idea, poor execution..Version: 3.6.2

DecentGood for minor shaking a useful tool to have if u don’t have a tripod.Version: 3.1.2

This app is deceptiveI do not recommend this app to ANYBODY! I got a great result from using the free version but it leaves an obnoxious watermark. If you take it a step further and buy the premium version of the app then you are left with terrible stabilization options that crop out most of your video and look nowhere near as good as the free version display because the video remains just as shaky as before but with half of your video cropped out. This app is garbage and is o my recommended for people who want to destroy their video content while spending money on something that doesn’t do anything.... don’t waste your time or money on this crap..Version: 3.1.1

Works well, but PLACES their BRAND on your videos! This app functions well. The great disappointment is that the Emulsion logo is placed on your videos! So if you're editing a home movie you will see their company logo. I'd be happy to pay to have full functionality and NO logo. Try it out, but use it only on videos you don't wish to ruin..Version: 2.5.6

ABSOLUTELY FURIOUSI previously paid for the pro version which means I can save videos without the watermark. They’ve just released a “Pro Pack2” which handles 4K video which means anyone who purchased Pro Pack 1 now has watermarks on their videos again. I don’t work with 4K video and have no interest in paying again. Fair enough if you want to offer this option for people, but it is outrageous that by putting this option in place you are simultaneously removing rights that people have already paid for by purchasing the original pro pack. If this app worked miracles I wouldn’t mind to pay a little again but come on. Respect your customers..Version: 3.0.1

Alters your videoOnce you edit your video, it writes over the original instead of saving as a new video! This is terrible.Version: 2.5.8

Videos won't display.I see the timeline in the strip at the top, and when I hit the play button, the audio plays, but there's no video. All I get is a black screen. iPhone XS Max, iOS 13.1 UPDATE: I quit the app, and hours later I tried again, and now it's working. Three stars because of the black-screen bug which needs to be addressed..Version: 3.1.1

Didn’t work for me.I personally couldn’t tell the difference. Also adds a watermark unless you pay..Version: 3.6.7

Powerful tool with notable weak pointsI wanted to use this app to stabilize my concert videos. From playing around with it, I can tell under different circumstances this app would be amazing, but I think it struggles to find a steady reference point due to the flashing stage lights in the videos I want to stabilize. This is frustrating for a couple reasons: 1. When the lighting is consistent, to tool works beautifully; HOWEVER, there is no point in using it at all if even a 0.5 second chunk of the video gets thrashed around due to flashing lights. You can’t turn the stabilizer on/off at certain timestamps, and there’s no functionality to splice together videos, so it’s really an all-or-nothing issue, and I haven’t found a single video that actually needs stabilizing where it hasn’t had even a moment of that jittery thrashing. 2. There is no manual functionality. I thought the compass button may allow tweaks to individual frames in the case of these jittery moments, but from what I can see it just tells you what the automated stabilizing changed about the frame. I recognize that manually stabilizing would be much more time-consuming and difficult, but having the option—especially for videos where only a couple seconds of tweaking would be necessary—would greatly improve the usability of this app. I think this app is great and definitely has its uses, but for myself, these issues make it nearly useless..Version: 3.6.7

Mediocre at bestIt does work, to an extent, but the results are somewhat underwhelming and too much of the overall quality of the original video are sacrificed, not to mention some of the actual image. Unfortunately, the often mediocre and unnatural results are just not worth it. I'm glad I didn't pay for this one. Try it while it's free, by all means; perhaps results differ depending on the footage. However, I tried a few different videos and was unimpressed with them all..Version: 1.1.2

Great coreReally impressive results, small base app footprint and good usability, but does not manage export very well at all and requires recalculating export when it fails. could not get save as new video working as it kept having a save to album error with error code and saving video over the original only worked after repeating the process several times. additionally the app’s documents and data grew significantly and would not release the data so i have deleted it..Version: 3.6.1

Somewhat usefulLack fisheye removal which is essential when using gopro or dji phantom drones..Version: 2.0.3

Does what it says, can't get 4K to workGood app, stabilises video well! But when I import a 4K video, it exports as 1080p... I can't seem to find a dialogue box to change the export settings? Also using iPhone se, any help would be appreciated!.Version: 3.1

AverageThis app is most definitely 'average'. It DOES work, to an extent. The trick is to only try and stabilise already half-stable shots. Swing your iPhone around like a loon and the software will (not surprisingly) have to crop 90% of your video to find something to stabilise! However, try and hold your camera still on a moving platform or a windy day and you will always get some nausea-inducing camera shake as there is no autostabilisation on the iPhone (why not, with that accurate gyroscope???). With one if those videos this app can have a certain amount of success. Be warned though: the dizzying camera shake can be replaced by an equally annoying 'shimmer' as the top half of the frame is stabilised before the bottom half. And, of course, you lose some detail around the edges, therefore (very slightly) reducing the overall quality. In summary - I'm glad I've got this. I won't be using it on every video, but for 'still' videos with little movement of the camera, this app will smooth down the inevitable hand shakes. *edit* After more extensive use I have discovered that my previous comments are absolutely correct. I took 2 videos today. One was of my dogs on the beach. I tried to stay as still as possible but there was still some hand shake in evidence. This app got rid of that completely and left me with a very steady video. Good job. By contrast the second video was filmed with my left hand while busting a nut over my girl's face with my right. Unfortunately, the hand shake was so severe that this software was unable to reduce it to an acceptable level (until after the money shot, at least). In summary - a *reasonably* still video cam be improved somewhat, but don't expect miracles..Version: 1.0.2

Replaced the MY ORIGINAL VIDEO with a watermarked video! Not amused by this app. Once you use the app then try to transfer the video to your camera roll it deletes the original video from the camera roll and replaces it with a watermarked, lower quality version of the video. To add insult to injury, it wasn't stabilised! The app holds onto an un-watermarked version of your video (albeit at a lower quality & basically holds it to ransom until you pay them £2.99 to put an un-watermarked version back into your camera roll. Avoid this app like the plague..Version: 2.6

Made videos more shakyI found the app made my 4K video worse in terms of shakes. I tried at 10-100 percent stabilization strength, and tried changing other settings. I would rate higher than 1 star but I was refused a refund by Apple, so I had $10 taken from me to make videos worse, with an app I used for less than a half hour..Version: 3.1.1

PoorPoor app. Overwrites your existing video and watermarks it. Waste of time and ruined my video.Version: 2.5.6

Works well to make ads for the appI took video of the super moon and used the app to stabilize it. It worked, but when I saved it, the app overwrote my original video and added their logo and a tag that said I used the app to stabilize it. There was no warning or any way to buy the version that doesn't leave their mark on my image. Now my original video is gone and I'm left with a stupid advertisement for their app that I don't want to use for the video I was making. "Thanks"..Version: 2.5.8

Can’t export 4K. Insufficient spaceI am unable to export 4K video at 60fps, it immediately comes up with an error due to insufficient space. I have plenty of space left on the device.Version: 3.1.4

Does the jobBut renders with the brand so only a demo version.Version: 2.5.2

Just wasted 15 bucksDoesn’t do anything..Version: 3.6.2

Where are instructionsHey there, throw me a bone! I get stuck inside a stabilized video and can’t find the main area. Where are instructions? It would be nicer to use this on a Mac because all of the font on my phone is so tiny..Version: 3.5.1

ReviewEach time I go to upload it comes out with everything I deleted.Version: 3.1

UselessUpdate: since the update the black bar issue still exists And app has began to crash during preview playback then closing app all together. I commend the fact tho that any update has been attempted many dnt bother but it's not near enough to solve the problems here infect this update seems to made things worse. ................ The app doesn't add stabilising as much crops the video. If you move the camera at all for any sweeping videos or landscape scenes this app will ruin your video ! It will either fill your video with black bars on either side actually pushing the video around or it will require you to crop the Inge bs zoom in to hide the black bars. This is not helpful only a hindrance. I would say as it is this app is a con and I feel robbed. Until some serious updates at done ms this bock bar issue is seen to do not buy!.Version: 1.0.3

A waste of $7.99!I bought the pro pack to remove the watermark and was using the app to stabilize a concert video I took except the app made my video about x10 worse! The stabilizer filter freaks out anytime there was a rapid pulse of light during the video I took and causes the entire video to either spin completely around or shake violently from side to side. Thanks for ripping me off for $8 and not even doing the one thing the app is supposed to do! Definitely do not waste your time on this app. It’s absolutely not worth it!.Version: 3.1.1

Turns Clips JitterySo I tried this out before upgrading. I found that some parts of the clip are jittery where as the original isn’t. I tried a lot of clips, and even doing a short 1 minute video. They both had added choppy video. It does a great job at stabilizing, but with random choppy, jittery footage thrown in. For this reason, I will not upgrade. I find that planning with a gimbal is best. If you do use this, plan on for some cropping, shoot further away to compensate. It’s a good app! You can make this app work good for you if you shoot your video right and plan on running clips through this app. It’s not a bad app, just not worth the upgrade in my opinion. I do see that the developer does respond to your comments, unlike other ones, so a huge plus there..Version: 3.1.1

Compresses VideoNot in full HD like you recorded it. No other editing options. Trimming at least would have been nice..Version: 1.1.5

I don’t even know what to sayI don’t know really. Maybe this is some kind of magic that works on one phone but makes jokes on the another. I’ve read that it worked for a good few people, but no matter what I did, it didn’t work for me. Of course when I slid down the slidebar to 0% stabilisation, it worked... it was just as shaky as my original clip 😋😂 no, honestly, all serious, it did not work at all for me. Tried different setups, none of them worked, I felt sick like if I had been on a rollercoaster, after watching the video “stabilised” by this app. Unfortunately it makes the videos hundred times worse..Version: 3.1.1

DisappointingIt doesn’t provide the stable gliding effect one would hope for. Seems like the app is just a series of buttons and crosshairs imagery to make you think it’s doing something, but the actual footage is still jittery. It all just seems ineffective unless you only shoot in slow motion, which I do not..Version: 3.6.2

Oh. Right away you need to upgradeSo. You can use the software. Get the result you want on a video. But bam. They slap a watermark on your video. To get rid of that. You need to purchase. Why just not make the software something you have to purchase and then you don’t have the upgrade to get rid of annoying stuff in-app purchase garbage. Super lame people. Super lame..Version: 3.6.7
