Simply Yoga for Negative User Reviews

Wasted an hourTried to get app to do anything and it does nothing one you pay. You get a new app but it doesn’t do anything. The free app does some but the paid version doesn’t even do what the free version does. Don’t waste your time and money just use the free little bit thats given..Version: 6.41

Great little app but needs musicI really like the 20 minute option when i don't have a lot of time. and I agree with another reviewer that the 40 minute option is too repetitive. I can't seem to save my custom programs which is too bad. AND, I would really like to have some music options with this. I live near the ocean and love the sounds but the ocean waves on the app are too loud and distracting.Version: 3.26

No flowThe yoga routines on here have no flow..Version: 6.31

Loved it 3 years ago. Now, not so much.I often use the 20 minute routines after a treadmill workout, or just to stretch out the tension that builds on any given day. The longer workouts are challenging enough to keep me using the app. Definitely worth purchasing the full version. Updating my review after 3 years. I loved this app back then, but now there are much better, more flexible (no pun intended) yoga apps out there. This one is in need of a major overhaul..Version: 4.80

Too much Sun Salutation in 40 min versionI've always felt limbered up and energetic after a session after a real yoga class, but I would only recommend the 20 min FREE version of this app, and for complete beginners. The 40 min version seemed to be 50% sun salutations, I lost count after doing 15 of them. I did not feel energised afterwards, although I felt slightly more flexible..Version: 3.11

Great For getting back into yogaUsing this app at home has helped me with my back injuries and gain more strength and flexibility. It could use more class programs though along with music in the background.Version: 4.61

Great if you like one routine on repeatPaid a fiver in the belief that I would get varied yoga workouts for the week. The reality is that the level 2 is identical to the level 1 and there is only one routine that I have now done four days on the bounce. Yes you can make your own routines from 60 or so moves but being a complete novice I have no idea which moves to include to make a decent session- was really expecting the app to do that for me. The instruction is good but only having one default workout makes it a complete waste of time and money- and ultimately very boring..Version: 4.76

Was workingWas working, but after most recent update, none of the videos play. All frozen, non responsive. I paid for the pro version, the problem exists in both pro and free version. Kindly fix soon or refund my monies. Thank you,.Version: 4.86

I like it but..I really like this app but wish there was a half hour version without creating my own routine. Sometimes 20 minutes isn't enough and I find the 40 minute one a bit long and a bit repetitive..Version: 3.26

Very Good app. Has much potentialI love this app. I am a yoga student and I find the descriptions of the reasons for doing the asanas essential. The directions are clear too in this app. Also thank you for putting the Sanskrit and English in too. A couple of suggestions. I would like to see more variety in the programs. Too many Sun Salutations at present. Also when working out your own program, if you want to change the order of the sequencing, you have to start again. That could be improved. Also how about adding pranayama and mudras too. And an option for the pace as in faster or slower, of the class. And an option for putting in an asana more than once. And what about a meditation. Don’t like the updateI’m really disappointed in the update. The new routines don’t flow like the old ones did..Version: 6.22

Custom workout routine lostJust tried out the new version for the first time. We didn’t like the update! For one thing, our previously custom workout routine was lost. And some of the poses have also changed. The new routines seem to order poses in very different ways. Poses are all ordered alphabetically. Creating a new routine requires knowing the exact order one wants; if one wants to add a new pose to the middle of the routine, one almost has to start from scratch by removing anything that comes before the desired pose. Would be better to allow more flexible in reordering poses..Version: 6.21

New version too fast and choppyOur whole family has been using Simply Yoga for years, both in individual practice and when together. This new version is too fast in certain poses and doesn't transition smoothly between poses. Also, the background ocean noise is too loud..Version: 6.21

Daily yoga?Thought I was purchasing a different routine each day bit only get repeats! Good practice but I will soon get bored with it. Disappointed DMA.Version: 4.86

Where is the 50 minute sequenceThis updated sequence is too fast, the logic of the order of poses is not clear, it needs to include a 60 minute sequence. I much preferred the sequence as it was a few days ago..Version: 6.21

Thank goodness they fixed the ‘fix’.So glad to see the original routines mostly added back in(although they are sped up a bit and not always in quite the same order). Those routines were the best for me that I have found and was quite upset to see them initially gone. Thank goodness I updated again and had them added back. But I guess my custom routines are gone now..Version: 6.23

I want to like itI’m new to yoga, and I’m 60. For me it’s important to move slowly and deliberately, cause at this point in life it’s easy to tweak a joint or ligament. So, my main frustration with the program is the speed of the instruction. I’m on Level 1 basic mins and the instruction is simply too fast. What i would appreciate is a ‘pace’ setting by which I could increase the time between instructions, esp on beginner levels. As it is the program is unusable for me, which is sad, because I think I would enjoy doing the routines..Version: 4.80

OKGood that you can set up your own sequences. Clear instructions. It sometimes doesn't give you time to get from one position to another (like standing to sitting). Too many sun salutations (2) in each of the 20 min presets. I would prefer only one. Would be improved if one of the presets focused on stretching poses and the other focused on strength poses..Version: 4.61

UpdateI used to love this app until the latest update. I had my three routines just perfect and I loved that didn't have to think just follow along. Now it seems the poses are done more quickly and sun salutation doesn't repeat. Sigh.....I am glad I have most of my routines memorized..Version: 6.21

Good, but too much repetitionThe instructions are clear, but you probably spend 15 minutes of a 40 minute session doing sun salutation which I found quite boring. Agree with other comments that larger picture would be helpful too. Overall though pretty good, but I look forward to some new poses in the 40 minute routines!.Version: 3.0

40 min level 2I liked the class. One improvement would be to combine moves so that is it more of a continuous flow rather than separate movements..Version: 5.00

Pros and Cons....Pros: No subscription fee. It's yoga for the average person, you don't have to be an athlete or yogi to follow a workout. Every pose is completely explained. Cons: Every routine seems like a random collection of poses. To create my own routine, it would be nice if I could view each pose so I can decide if I want to use it. Overall a very good app, but there is room for improvement..Version: 4.88

Not happy with updateI’ve used this app for years and loved it - BUT the update has sped up the poses, doesn’t focus on the breathing, and the pre-programmed sessions don’t have the same flow. I like the additional poses but it’s lost something for me. I’ve created my own list (a nice feature, but the previous version had this as well) but as I noted there seems to be an effort to rush through the poses. Not liking it as much...😕.Version: 6.22

Hard for beginner to followSeems to me the words and actions of instruction are out of sync. Maybe after a few more times..Version: 6.40

Sun salutation is too rushes.I like the 20 minutes practice, however I only gave it 3 stars because the Sun salutation rushes through downward dog part of the flow and doesn’t give enough time to get into the pose nor to benefit of its stretch before moving right on. that’s my only complaint.Version: 6.40
