✓ UselessThis app has become useless. Have deleted and reinstalled, rebooted etc. It loads one book, then crashes, and continues to crash on opening. The only way to read a volume is to disconnect from internet (airplane mode). No longer workable. This was once a very useable app and I made purchases based on its reliability at the time. The current situation is unacceptable and I will seek out other publisher’s solutions..Version: 4.2.0
✓ Fine I guess?Fine if you just want to read, but kind of useless if you want to highlight/ take notes at the same time. Someone mentioned integrating with iOS better, e.g. Apple Pencil and split screen mode, in their review 4 years ago; it hasn’t changed. The highlighting function is incredibly clunky and makes getting through uni readings take way longer than it needs to. There’s also no wrist-guard function, so when I rest my wrist on the screen it flips pages. Obviously TR has other priorities, but updating this interface would go a long way to improving UX. Not much point buying an ebook if you can’t do the most basic things with it - especially if your iPad is your main device..Version: 4.5.0

✓ Almost uselessI bought this App for Archbold 2012. I can't search within a chapter. No advanced searches. If you bookmark a page you can't label the bookmark. If you jump to a paragraph on a hyperlink there is no way back. ✓ Keeps losing publicationsNot only is it prone to crashing publications keep disappearing and only re appear when i delete the app and re load it. Even then if i close the app and re open they are gone again. I use Archbold and it keeps losing the 2019 edition. It also keeps losing the Sentencing Guidelines. ✓ An absolute disgraceBearing in mind the price of a subscription to the White Book, for example, the whole set-up is appalling. There is no longer an app that works on desktops. The annotations don’t synchronize. Navigating backwards and forwards is hopeless. There is no way to remove unwanted books. The search facility is remedial. Just because you have a monopoly on the most widely used Civil Procedure guide, does not mean you should be satisfied with charging a fortune for such a rubbish product. ✓ Not goodThis is really disappointing. I bought an ebook of Australian Tax Handbook. I can't read it on my ipad most of the time, as the app keeps freezing itself up. What's the point of having an ebook when it is so hard to work with. If you are a professional looking for an ebook version of reference books, i would recommend you to get them from CCH. I got a MTG from them, it never crashed, and nearly takes no time to open anybook i have on their bluefire app, it is also comparably faster when i use its key words search function. I had no contact with the developer or anyone from customer service in the interim until they wanted a star so the sent me an email. Classic. Customer Service, Thomson, is supposed to be about the customer. You just completely ignored me until you wanted something. That’s not customer service. That’s being self absorbed and self-centered. Like others, I can't log in using one pass. App keeps telling me "unsuccessful" over and over again. It is better to make sure your app works well before rolling it out. ✓ Normally ok but update system awful.When working, the application enables reasonable access to relevant information. Frustrating in that the user can not access multiple sources across the range with a mechanism to either open all sources at once or flip readily back and forth. The update system is also frustrating. Recently the books would not update. With the recent update, the entire application would no longer work. I had to uninstall the whole app and reinstall. The app works again. Thankfully, this finally updated the books. Not a desirable way of updating. The ability to access the books on iPad at court or out of office locations is awesome. ✓ DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY 8/13/2019I love Proview on the PC or using browser! However DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY on this app until the software issue is finally fixed. Years ago the app worked great until the updates. Each update has done nothing. I just reinstalled the app, just to check if the latest update worked and still the same. This time app crashes after a few seconds. Tech support is no help. Tech support will do an update then say everything works, but really they have no clue how to patch the code. ✓ UselessThere are no page numbers and there is no table of contents to locate particular charges. If you were sitting in front of a judge who has the hardcopy you would never be able to work along with the judge because there are no page numbers or similar content which exists in each of the physical hard copy volumes. Will be voiding the electronic service and order the hard copy. It is very surprising that Westlaw could not figure this out on it’s own. ✓ Difficult to navigateIt’s a real pain to navigate texts using this app. Maybe it works fine for reading a novel, but it is awful for reference texts. Each subheading in a table of contents requires opening a new page. So if I want to read the information at Chapter 3.4.iv.a, I have to open 4 diff levels before I get there. So stupid. The text formatting is terrible — quotes in footnotes are presented as inch wide columns of text over 6 pages, next to two inches of margin. Good luck trying to jump between chapters or search by keyword. Just give me a proper index and hyperlink the page numbers. I’d be surprised if anyone had tried to use this app before it was approved. But the online platform is only marginally better, so.....Version: 4.5.0

✓ Worst app everThis has to be the worst app ever for textbooks. It takes 10x longer just to highlight things. I hate it. Having an apple pencil should make things easier but the fact that i have to go through 3 other steps to switch between highlights and push so hard to select the text i want to highlight when i should just be able to highlight it right away. ✓ Hyperlink lure to profitsThomson Reuters / West has screwed up yet another acquisition, this time, O’Connors. Throughout the commentary there are hyperlinks to rules, cases, other books. While it’s expected that such links to non-owned resources would/should cost extra, references to even the rules themselves (contained in the Appendix) do not function as makes sense. For example, a reference to rule 269b ought to merely take you directly to the rule located in the Appendix; it does not. Instead, it takes you online to link to a West resource that you must subscribe to (more money). Why would this be since the rules themselves are located within the O’Connors book?! This is nothing more than a money grab. The claimed benefit of ProView is the ability to access and search a software version of the O’Connors book. Clearly, it does not do that and is a misrepresentation of the offering. It is instead a lure to get users to subscribe to other West resources are more cost. I might as well use the physical version that doesn’t “link” either. The only value to the ProView version of O’Connor’s is that it adds no more space and weight than you iphone, ipad, or computer. DEVELOPER RESPONSE IS FALSE. While you can navigate via the table of contents to sections of the commentary, clicking on any TRCP or TRE reference is linked ONLY to online access and NOT to the Proview Appendices for these rules. To make matters worse, while the hard copy book has all rules in the Appendices, the mobile app does not and the only way to access each rule with the appendix is to go to the beginning of the rules in the appendix via the Table of Contents, then manually scroll through each page one by one. Try accessing Rule 192 this way, it takes forever! It makes use of reference to the rules worthless. Bottom line, Westlaw (Thomson Reuters) is terrible company that scams its subscribers into these O'Connors Proview subscriptions by not providing any examples or trial period. Why not? Because they know no one will subscribe to it bc of its poor functionality. Westlaw continues to bill me for this garbage and has made no attempts to resolve these problems. I will tell every lawyer I know how terrible this app is. It will be my goal to prevent any others from making the same mistake, unless and until Westlaw resolves these problems, and puts a decent customer experience over their own greed. Finally, in their Response to this review, they provide a link for further communication - haha, it does not work! Westlaw Developers are clueless. Either they don’t try their own product and links or they are part of the problem and the scam. This borders fraud.
