JamUp Pro for Negative User Reviews

Good sketch pad and great interface for first demosThe amp simulators are impressive for such an inexpensive app, the share utilities are a nice touch (some of you love delay waaaay too much, though! ;-p) and the audiopaste app makes it easy to import from my FL mobile DAW and add axe and vox to ideas with a minimum of hassle. Feedback and level issues are a problem for live work. Using this in a band practice setting w/ a jam hub requires a careful balance of gain and master volume, otherwise feedback gets quickly out of control....Version: 2.4.3

JohnI was using your app for about 6mnths with my bass guitar, then it started distorting. I got a new phone, and the app still is not working properly for bass guitar. I’ve checked all levels on sound board I’m running it through, checking all levels on the app to make sure I’m not clipping, and it’s still playing distorted. Hoping the issue gets resolved soon. I was really enjoying the app until it stopped working right for me.Version: 3.6.33

Not bad at allBest sounding amp sim, bit cheesed off with in app purchasing. I wish people wouldn't buy them and maybe developers would stop being greedy. Would much prefer to pay small premium for an update of significance. Anyway onto the sounds... Nice and responsive and don't sound too flubby or boxy. As expected the sims are fine if a little exaggerated in their perceived characteristics. Low latency mode is a god send. All in all a good product if a little overpriced if you take into account what you need to invest to have all the fun stuff..Version: 2.2.0

App doesn’t workWaiting for an update for IOS16 After I updated system Sound in the app is absolutely horrible And won’t load amps or any effects..Version: 3.6.42

Makes nice sounds, but 8 track completely worthlessVery frustrated with this app. DON’T BUY THE $5 8-track “upgrade,” it only allows you to record more tracks. There is no way to do any post-recording mixing, or anything like that. If you want to record something and then use that recording in “JAM” that is not possible. Want to speed your track up? Impossible. Highly frustrating, and borderline infuriating how little functionality it has..Version: 3.6.40

Amp controls crash if you try an amp not purchasedI tried an acoustic amp and they don’t give you control of the eq. Ok, but why does the volume and eq on all my amps quit after I switch back. Have to delete the whole app and reload. I’m ditching this crap and going back to my real amps. I wanna refund. I threw away loads on this garbage..Version: 3.6.40

Wow. Absolute garbage.Maybe it’s the latest iOS update, but nothing works on the app. I used the free version for a while and thought I’d upgrade to pro. Waste of $10. Looper doesn’t work. 8 track doesn’t work. Effects all sound the same. Will be asking for a refund..Version: 3.6.42

Great but still needs a couple of fixesExporting/backup to dropbox does not store midi config so beware when importing on another device. Categorising a wah pedal as a “modulation” effect is a hinderance when you wish to midi toggle a “true” modulation effect, such as chorus, independently. Who else thinks a wah pedal is a modulation effect? Be nice to see the ability to import user cabinet IRs rather than have to buy audiobus and a convolution app to get the same result. Other than that, its cool.Version: 3.6.33

Why so much feedback?I don’t understand how there can be any feedback while using earbuds and using an external speaker? - forget about it if you want any amount of decent distortion..Version: 3.6.40

Please update so it’s compatible with ios14.It’s useless to me now..Version: 3.6.40

Crashes all the time! This used to be my go-to app for quickly laying down some loops in the Sampler section. Recently something happened (iOS update?) and now whenever I try to load a saved song the app crashes. When I reopen it there is a default value of 144 measures in the Sampler. Attempting to load a song causes it to crash again. I can sometimes access my list of saved songs by hitting Save first, and then Load, but it keeps crashing. I loved this app! Please fix it..Version: 3.6.30

Missing pedals And 1, or 2 amp...?10 years ago I’ve purchased most of the pedals and 1 or 2 amps and when I took out my guitars and dusted them, I wanted to get back on practicing and opened my iPad to connect a few pedals I paid for; Noise filter, acoustic eq, acoustic, multi head, ola delay, vibrato, auto wash, uni vibe, Pitch Shifter, tron mu tron, room reverb, sab driver, and acoustic. I’m pretty shure at 80 % of my PURCHASED and I know I could make a mistake but, please check and re install my paid pedals, Thank you Frank R. Marchessault L..Version: 3.6.40

Where’s the IOS 14 UpdateDisgraceful negligence to not have an update ready for IOS14, let alone weeks after its launch..Version: 3.6.40

Can’t get it work on iOS 11I liked the app, but after iOS update it doesn’t recognize my audio interface (apogee jam).Version: 3.6.30

Upgraded to Pro and lost my expansionI had a metal expansion on the regular JamUp. I recently upgraded to Pro and can no longer use them. The “Restore Purchases” button does nothing. Please help..Version: 3.6.32

JamPlayer useless for Apple Music subscribersJamPlayer feature has never supported songs stored on iCloud (big disappointment) but if you subscribe to Apple Music it will not support ANY songs on your device as it sees them all as remote (even if you download them to your phone).Version: 3.6.20

Doesn’t workHi I tried to open the app and don’t running.Version: 3.6.40

Needs to be updatedThe amp sounds are great, but it looks like it is not working properly under ios8. The backing track files in jam app sounds horrible and sometimes the guitar is not connected when starting to mention a couple of bugs. I have both Ampkit+ and Amplitube and both of these are more versatile. You need to also by Bias to be able to customize anything, like different cabs and mic's. It has some really nice features though so if the bugs are fixed it is really worth the money in my opinion..Version: 3.6.8

WorksExceptional app. Easy to use and has everything you need to record guitars - if you're willing to shell out an extra $10 for each bundle. The headphone jack peripheral that they advertise for $19 is garbage, you'll need a lightning connector to get the most out of this app. Don't waste your time with the cheaper connectivity kits. Would be 5 stars without the unethical 'in app purchase' design..Version: 3.6.5

FIX THE CUSTOM BACKGROUND!!!Yesterday day before I updated the app, I still had my custom backgrounds. But when I updated it today the custom backgrounds disappeared. Please fix. I've tried deleting the amp and reloaded it into jamup and it still wasn't there. Please fix ASAP..Version: 3.6.20

Excellent tool for learning songsAudio no longer playing through my device (iPad, iPhone) speakers. Audio only works with headphones or earbuds plugged into lightning connector. This is so frustrating..Version: 3.6.42

Looking elsewhere for my next purchaseI bought JamUp and almost all the in-app extras. Then you drop it and start supporting Bias. JamUp no longer works properly in Cubasis 2 which is now the leading DAW for iOS. I accept that things move on but feel that under the circumstances I should get a discount off bias FX. If you don’t offer this kind of incentive to stay with your products, how do we know you won’t do it again, when it’s time for the next significant advancement in software?.Version: 3.6.32

Great app, still major issuesGreat app, sounds amazing. Very good UI. Unfortunately one of the major features still doesn't work Jam section still not working with Apple Music, or music I have manually put on the phone, I.e not from iTunes or Apple Music. Very disappointed by this not being resolved. Would have been 5 stars shame.Version: 3.6.14

BanjofranOkay I have had enough! Positive Grid do make nice software however the bugs are ever present, and for long periods of time their products will not function reliably which is bad enough, My main grievance though is that at some point they decided that it would be a good idea to install nagware even in the full editions of Jamup (XP Pro) and currently their pop up request to "rate their App" completely freezes Jamup in Audiobus the result being I can not use Jamup along side other Apps. I have tried "reviewing the app", telling it to "remind me later" and also pushed the "No thanks" button many times, but it still keeps hassling me to rate the App and freezing my iPad. I have spent a small fortune on the IAPS and feel I should be allowed to use it (bugs and all) without unsolicited notifications, and by the way one of Jamups competing effect processors is a vastly superior sounding product..Version: 3.6.5

Starting to get disappointedI used to love this app. I could plug it into Garage Band and have a field day making music with it. I don’t know what happened in the past year or so but sometimes it says it’s not compatible anymore. When it does let me sync up to it, the sound of it is horrible. I’ve made all my sound adjustments to prevent this from happening. FYI. If you have a problem with Garage Band, they are the only reason I bought this app. Square up with them and resolve your issues please. These 2 apps are the only reason I even get an iPhone. Please fix your issues and bugs. Add an update. I paid too much money for a garbage app..Version: 3.6.42

UnusableThe app crashes when any midi clock is running. It just freezes on start up. I sent them a bug report nearly a year ago and it's still broken. Such a shame, it's really good apart from all the crashing..Version: 3.6.23

Needs way more presetsOut of the box this comes with just a few presets, most of which just aren't very good or useful. If you really enjoy endless tinkering and tweaking of pedals, amps, and chain then you'd probably like this app. I'd much rather have a really robust set of presets to choose from, created by pros who know what they're doing. I feel lost trying to this with this app. There's a reason why users of guitar amp sim software are flocking to Tonebridge - it's because they just want to choose a sound and go..Version: 3.6.33

EhhIt’s ok for a solo practice, but not much else. The tuner needs work. I don’t think they’re putting much into this app these days. It seems like they just leave it on the App Store to squeeze a little more money out of it. Quite a shame! It has potential, but I’m not sure about the developers..Version: 3.6.42

Not impressed, no bias fx2 comparability.I’m new to bias fx, I seen fx2 in the App Store, purchased it, and purchased every extra to the sum of a fair few pounds. So upon opening bias fx2 it presented me with JamUp pro that seamlessly integrates with bias fx. It’s advertised inside the bias fx2 app and I wanted the 8 track (4 off which cost me even more). So with nearly £100 paid of my hard earned cash, I record on the 8 track...only to find bias fx2 does NOT work with jamup even tho the BIAS FX2 APP ADVERTISES JAMPLAY PRO TO YOU. properly raging at this. Malpractice, I feel cheated. Save your cash go else where. I bet the dev leaves an automated ‘hi , thanks for the feedback, please write us at.. blah blah blah” to make it look like they care..which they don’t. Standard corporate ‘reach out to us cos we care rubbish’.Version: 3.6.41

ShameCan’t use it at all with my iPhone X... App doesn’t support Bluetooth either. Such a shame..Version: 3.6.30

NO LONGER WORKSIt was fine for a few months, and now it just keeps crashing. The backing tracks you load will not play anymore. Fire your developers, they screwed it up.Version: 3.6.32

Amazing app but doesn't work on iPhone 7 or 7+This was amazing when I first got it on my iPhone 6. Now it doesn't work at all on iPhone 7 due to there not being a standard headphone jack. Even a splitter doesn't work. Come on guys, the iPhone 7 has been out for nearly a whole year now and this still hasn't been addressed??? For shame....Version: 3.6.29

Poor audio qualityI've been a fan of this app for a long time, and spent a lot on pedals and amps. But not right now... Firstly, I used the Jam feature for practice, being able to load tracks from my iTunes library and slow them down. Perfect. But not any more. The quality of the audio playback is now very very poor. Full of crackles and pops. I'm not sure at what point this started - iOS 9 update, or a JamUp app update - but the feature is now pretty well unusable. Secondly, the base amps seem to sound reasonably good (not great though), but applying any form of effect - distortion, etc- brings the same poor quality audio to the guitar output too. I've been advised by Positive Grid Support that they are aware of the problem, which only affects some users, and are looking into it. The latest update on Feb 9th (with a DSP fix) didn't fix the issue, nor did a re-install by me. I'm not a professional who uses this App for live performances. If I were, I'd be fuming. I hope the outcome isn't that my iPad 3 isn't now man enough for JamUp on iOS 9. I've spent a lot of time and money on this app. So come on PG, let's get it sorted asap so I go back to giving it a five star rating..Version: 3.6.19

Used to be the best phone appThis app was by far the best app I’ve had. Better than anything, but for the last year, it doesn’t work. The microphone picks up noise but the actual app doesn’t do anything. I was due a new phone anyway thinking this would fix it, I eventually brought a new guitar lead, iRig, headphone adapter, headphones and realised the app’s knackered. The developers seem to not care for this app anymore. Shame..Version: 3.6.42

Customer service is non existentI have an outstanding support request ticket that is going on two weeks with no help. If a solution to your problem is not on the faq list, you are on your own....disappointed..Version: 3.6.30

Feeling a bit 'left behind'BIAS this bias that, why can't we use BIAS Pedal with this app too! To all us suckers that have invested heavily in overpriced extras that will not transfer to BIAS FX, I say we have been jibbed! Please make any additional purchases transferable or provide us with access to BIAS Pedal so we don't feel so cheated... Even if there was a cap on pedals purchased to have access would be fine..Version: 3.6.12

A mixed bagAs someone who has been messing around with electric guitars and assorted kit for 20 years or so I was pretty excited by the concept of this. Unfortunately, after spending a little bit of time playing with this application I realise that it's close to useless. The problem is that there is a tangible delay between picking a note and the production of the associated sound. This makes playing Rhythm tracks in particular extremely difficult. The rhythm that you hear back from the iPad will not correspond to what you are playing - there is about a fifth of a second delay that you have To deal with. I have to say that the quality of the different voices for the distorted lead guitar sounds were pretty good and I spent some happy hours shredding away. But this processing delay is a killer, it prevents this kit being a useful, serious tool for creating music..Version: 2.1.1

Crashing with 8-track, please update its too good to ignoreThis app has been a great and creative place for me to make music since 2014. But the 8-track no longer lets you import or export without crashing. PLEASE update this great app..Version: 3.6.42

Wish I'd seen this first...I just wish I'd seen this before all the other crazy stuff I saw (and bought). It does seem better than amplitude - and a big thing for me - it plugs into Audiobus. So whether I use Loopy, or Multitrack DAW or anything else that supports Audiobus to record - good old Jam Up is a plug in between my guitar and this. Haven't tried to sing through it yet - but I bet I can do that to, tiny bit of distortion, little reverb, maybe some echo. Main thing is it sounds good and is easy to use... And an absolute bargain.... Oh... And did I mention it supports Audiobus??.Version: 2.1.3

You screwed me overYou guys did me so dirty. I purchased the full app a long time ago and was able to record using the full 8 track mixer. I had audio files recorded and saved. I launch the app today for the first time in a while to reminisce on some old material to tell me I have to purchase the expansion pack. I tried restoring purchases and nothing. I tried loading my old recordings and they were all gone. You lost my trust. Stay away from this bogus app. Greedy company. I will never purchase another product from you..Version: 3.6.33

Happy enough, didnt get promised discountI m happy enough with the app it does what it says it does. However i only purchased the pro upgrade and a metal pack as there was supposed to be 50% summer sale on them. I dont appear to have gotten the discount when i purchased, so other than that im happy enough. I was going to take another pack that was advertised as discounted also but did not. I have since been in contact with them and they have resolved the discount issue quite easily. I even went and bought nearly the rest of the expansion packs..Version: 2.4.3

ClunkyWildly inconsistent when it comes to MIDI implementation. The user menus are circa 2008: ugly. Can't customize MIDI CC commands, locked out of most nuanced controls. Compare to other apps (like ToneStack) for MIDI detail..Version: 3.6.22

Upgrading to Pro was a mistakePositive Grid makes great products. I had have had Jam Up XT for some time and just purchased Bias for iPad, which is awesome. So I thought I would upgrage to JamUp pro. This is not an upgrage, it is a new purchase. All the amps, effects and modules I had purchased don't tansfer to the new version. You don't find this out until you go to their webpage to look for support because you suddenly have a lot less amps, effects, etc. This would have been very good to know up front. I would not have purchased the Pro Version. If you don't have any version of JamUp then get the Pro version as you get more stuff up front, but be aware if you are upgrading that you may have to purchase items you already paid for again..Version: 3.1.2

Waste of money, over priced.I felt the lite version was pretty naff as far as bass guitar support goes, so when I saw that the full version had it I just had to get it. With a bass head and the ability to load in tunes and play along I felt it was worth the cost, but oh dear, what a mistake. The bass tone has something strange going on, it's like a slight delay or ADT and it has an almost stereo feeling to it. Not like any of the other amps I've got and quite off putting. The big let down is the Jam section. Maybe this works if the files are local (doubt it) but as most of my songs or on iTunes match the Jam section would just freeze up 9 out of ten times, and the app would need to be forced shut before I could try again. I wish I could get my money back as I can't see me using this again..Version: 1.3.0

Doesn’t work on iOS 14Used to be a good app, but no longer works since iPhone update..Version: 3.6.40

No longer works on iPhone SE 2020I purchased this app last year and decided to pull out my guitar and Irig 2 and Jam up pro doesn’t work anymore. Effects don’t work totally useless now and I am out money for an app that doesn’t work.Version: 3.6.42

Come On!This is a great app but after purchasing all xtras now you want to sell them to me again inside of Auria as a VST, just plain GREED!.Version: 2.3.1

Still no support for modern iPhones?!Unbelievable. Eighteen months since the iPhone X launched, and these clowns STILL haven't updated this app - which wasn't exactly cheap - to support it. I for one can't STAND lazy, incompetent developers. Just sayin. This company is literally the WORST. AVOID AT ALL COSTS..Version: 3.6.37

Good app but lost all my purchases !After a update I have lost all my purchases, I also noticed that with each update the sound of many presets changed which would be horrific if I used this live! Even after contacting support through apple or jam up , nothing has happened as it happened previously and happened a second time now it isn't showing in purchase....Version: 3.6.23

UselessI was led to believe this app would play music that I could jam with. There is no music in it. It has two pull existing music off of the iPad or iTunes. This is useless. I could play along with my own music 20 years ago on a boom box. I want a refund..Version: 3.6.32

EhDecent app, my biggest issue is I only have an ipad pro, and there is NO WAY for me to import any music into it. For the love of god please make it so we can at LEAST import songs with dropbox! The whole point of this app is to be able to import a song and jam to it!.Version: 3.6.36

Update pleaseIOS 15 may ruin the muti-track recorder. When I try to import audio file, the app spontaneously stops to work. This app must be updated for better compatibility with IOS 15 and connectivity with USB-C type audio interface. I even cannot hear the sound with my USC audio interface if I am not use the AUDIOBUS app..Version: 3.6.42

Just not it...I’m really disappointed in this app, bias amp 2, and bias fx. Even though the apps are made to be used together, the purchases don’t transfer over. Just when you think you got what you need, you have to buy it all over again. Also the three programs each have a specifically coordinated weakness, so you pretty much have to buy all three. This is very smart marketing, but a dirty way to nickel and dime the customers. The channel switching is super slow and loud. I wouldn’t use it in the dingiest club. Don’t get me wrong, the flexibility is awesome. You have 3 millions ways to make a 5150 sound like crap and one or two to make it sound good. We pretty much all knew that. I was looking to lighten my load with this technology, but I’m right back to big amps-And I am totally happy with it. I wish I never blew money on this setup..Version: 3.6.32

Far from good ios appThe pitch shift is good but only shifts by a multiple of few semitones. All mp3 I downloaded are out of tune by about half of a semitone so that this feature I could never use, always retuned my guitar. Bass samples are just crap never look any close to a bass guitar. Distortion, it is much better if I use any cheap pedal. Reverberation effect takes so much CPU that my latest iPad gets to its knees. All in all - a lot of things to improve to get it usable..Version: 2.4.5

Product crashing after IOS 14 update. This app was awesome but with a lack of updating and adding new effects. It seems they have abandoned this app. Now that IOS 14 came out it’s Crashing so if your like me who has spent good money buying everything in this app is now useless. Cant even open the app. No new effects no new updates. I’m done with this app until they fix it and grow on it..Version: 3.6.40

No.So you are already logged in with your apple id. You pay for their product through the ion app purchase, through the App Store. But wait! There's more! You need to sign in and let your Facebook account be hijacked by these people in order to use the stuff you just paid for. No. Where's my refund?.Version: 2.4.1

No longer works!!App stopped working with most recent update. I keep getting a messages saying 'Audiobus initialisation failed' and then the app crashes. Was wonderful before this, please fix this bug so I can use the app again!!!.Version: 3.6.1
