Value Diary - Weight Loss Diet for Negative User Reviews

Not impressedI want to return this app, it isn't worth the money for it, the database is small, it is not user friendly and it doesn't sync with my iPad.plus you have to oh additionally for it to connect to your Fitbit- overall I am not impressed and want my money back..Version: 3.1.3

Reduced features disadvantage existing usersI bought this app a few years ago and it was so easy to use, however now that they’ve moved the database search to premium membership only, the app is completely useless! Will be going back to MyFitnessPal....Version: 4.1.5

Honey2macLots of great features but a few drawbacks; does not work across all your devices. Pricey for 'back up'. Difficult to accurately track as many items do not indicate portion sizes making it tough to figure out which one to select from multiple similar items..Version: 3.0.1

Application has changed-things now behind a pay wallI purchased this application years ago and had been using it just fine until this weekend when I bought a new iPhone. Now, all of the features I paid for in the past are hidden behind a pay wall. The support team was nice enough to let me know that had I contacted them last year apparently they would have giving me access to the same application. Because Apple presses people to back up via iCloud, I have no back up of the old application. Disappointed that an application I paid for is no longer usable and instead I am being asked to pay on a recurring basis for what used to be already included. Edit: I see the developer has responded that this is a different application. Fairly lame response in my opinion. When I went to my device in the App Store to download previously purchased apps, Eureka it took me to this one and rightly so. They have changed the features and hidden behind a pay wall. The semantics about it being a new app, you can judge for yourself..Version: 4.3.1

AnnoyingI loved this app when I first got it I lost 1 stone but all Of a sudden it stopped working and all my points are wrong, they’re different from my mums (even if she puts my weight in) it’s really sad tbh because it’s such a great and easy app to use but it’s a shame it’s ruined somehow, I’ve tried deleting and re adding again but still it tells me the wrong points to eat :(.Version: 4.1.0

Disappointed 😕I used this app around 4 years ago for 2 years straight and was successful in losing over 2 and a half stone 👍 Having had a baby and gained around a stone back of this lost weight I downloaded the app again to lose this using the only tool I had found to be successful. I am so disappointed in the changes that have been made to this app - adverts every time you add a food item. So many things need paying for which didn’t before - you can’t even plan TOMORROW’S meals without having to pay the premium, can’t check the dining out section without paying a premium... I’ve therefore moved to a new app in the hope that I can find the same success. What a shame as I had raved about this app for years..Version: 4.1.5

Premium Subscription IssuesI have been using this app for over 10 years. Always loved it! However my subscription auto-renewed and when I logged into the app it won’t recognize that I renewed and I am unable to use the app’s features now. I’ve tried a data refresh, purchase refresh and nothing works. I created a IT support ticket with the development company of the app and have not received any updates or feedback for over a week now. I don’t there exists any support for this app anymore. They haven’t made a new version in years..Version: 4.3.1

Used to love this needs to be updated!I used it several years ago and I loved it then. Quick easy and back then 10 bucks got you a lifetime thing. Fast forward to today and I need to lose weight again and first thought was this sight without even trying the free plans I got a year sub. I typed in and scanned couple of items with wide array of points that were totally inaccurate. For instance I scanned a tv dinner the first amount it showed was 49 points. I clicked to see the details and entered what was on back and it brought down to 27. That is a huge difference. A lot of the items I even scan aren’t even in the scanning part. Tried to look up butter and nope… just didn’t exist. I hope the devs look into fixing the app or I will have to look into a different one..Version: 4.3.1

DO NOT PURCHASE!I went through all the setting up steps and purchased this app for $4.99/month. It then wouldn’t let me login or access it AFTER CHARGING ME. I then attempted to find a way to contact customer service for help and there is NO WAY to contact them without logging in. So essentially, they can take your money then say you don’t have an account when you login and you can’t get any assistance, until you login. I’m out $4.99 with zero recourse. Their website is trash, I hate to see what the app is like, though I never will..Version: 4.3.1

Scanner does NOT workI was hopeful to use this app in lieu of paying a monthly weight watchers subscription fee. I purchased the year’s worth of usage ($25), only to discover that the scanner does NOT work. I have trouble-shot everything on their website. The scanner is imperative, so without it, this seems like a waste of my time. I refuse to create an entry for each food item I have purchased. Plus, it adds a LOT of time to my grocery store trips as I have to stand there to enter food macros to find out the points. I have asked for my money back. We shall see…..Version: 4.3.1

Terrible to useTried to use it. Couldn't even find instant coffee or semi skinned milk. Adverts are invasive and everything needs paying for. A fully working trial would maybe be better. I gave up after 1 hour trying with out being able to put in my breakfast and include 2 mugs of nescafe with milk..Version: 4.3.1

DatabaseThe database needs to be updated. A lot of foods not on here. If your wanting to build a recipe make sure the scanner is working. If your just wanting to log food, and following pp of ww. I hope you still have the book with points in it. Also not all points are correct. Do you homework and pull out your old books of pp Ww. It's good however if your just wanting to keep track.Version: 3.6.2

Do not buy the premium plan- waste of moneyI was led to believe that by purchasing a premium plan I would be able to track Weight Watcher’s Freestyle points. Very few points match the actual Weight Watcher’s Freestyle points. I went back to Weight Watchers because this app is useless. I contacted Ultimate Food Diary and they said they do not claim to be a Weight Watchers tracking app. Then what are they??? Do not waste your money!! *Update: The developer is stating that my review is not genuine. It is very genuine! The points on this app in no way align to Weight Watchers Freestyle program. It may work for others, but when every point counts toward weight loss success, this program can sabotage your weight loss plan. The meal planner is also not accurate. I asked for a partial refund for the app in October because I was out of the country for a month and did not use it after I purchased it. I went back to the Weight Watchers app and have had much better success. **update: My reviews are not threats as suggested by the developer. I understand I cannot get a refund because I should have tried the app sooner, so that is my own fault. My reviews are to prevent others from making the same mistake I did. This is my only review. I feel the developer is harassing me now to avoid others from believing the truth. Others have left similar reviews. Please do read all reviews as the developer suggests. I should have read them before purchasing the premium upgrade..Version: 3.7.2

Good but with a little extra could be greatI achieved lifetime membership using the weight watchers app and loved it but it was costing too much every month and couldn't afford it any more. This is good, works the same but needs a little work for us Aussie's. Love the scanner, some Australian products don't scan though so maybe if someone could work on that would be great. I don't eat out a lot but the restaurants are American, if you choose Australian plan at the start it should designate Aussie restaurants. I might buy an eating out guide at my next meeting to consolidate the app..Version: 1.9.6

Overall ok. Doesn’t sync between devices.Very cluttered interface but flexible. If you’re used to the WW app, this one will be disappointing. It doesn’t sync across devices or have a website you can use on a computer like the WW app. Be careful about buying a subscription. Once you click buy, it’s yours. Try the one month first so you’re not out $25 that you’ll never see again. I’d recommend iTrackBites over this program..Version: 4.0.0

Good app, but sluggish. Entry needs to be faster.Good app, but it is sluggish. Sometimes it takes 10-15 seconds to load the screen to start entering food items. I still prefer MyFitnessPal for utility, speed, and general design; however, it doesn't track points. This is the best points tracker that I have found. Except for the slowness, I like it..Version: 3.1.3

Not Accurate for Points Plus Values!I have noticed there are MANY MANY items on this app that not correct! Makes it very hard to properly track when the items are not correct!! Very frustrating!.Version: 2.4.1

Customer ServiceI paid for this service but they did not provide the premium package I have tried contacting them several times but they ignore all my messages Beware if you are thinking of purchasing the premium package.Version: 4.3.1

Like it but....Few little niggles compared to WW version but may that is because I’m used to that version but hey I’m saving money on the basic version. Still new to it so I may improve my thoughts once I get better at where things are..Version: 3.8.0

Its ok but looking for something more reliableThe points are all over the place....for example, cheddar cheese comes up: 1 cup diced and one 2/3oz slice both are 15 points!🤦🏽‍♀️ so you dont know what the points actually are, not very helpful! Also if you create a meal in the app and then enter it in your diary it won’t count as an entry in the nutritional values section, so you are back to entering each ingredient separately....😖 making the creating a meal feature a useless feature..Version: 4.3.1

Best points plus app availableDoesn't give the option to use the old point system, and scanner/database is lacking..Version: 2.4.1

No Australian foods, cannot recognise any barcodesGreat idea on the app but does not recognise any bar codes I have in my pantry and when selecting foods manually it seems to be American foods only, why is that,I've signed up for the Australian section when entering info. Would love to know how to get it to read my barcodes? Help would be great if not useless for the Australian consumer = disappointment..Version: 1.9.6

Still needs more workBasic interface. Slow clunky interface. Food database really limited. Not updated with latest WW points..Version: 3.6.2

Expensive!!In its most basic form this app is OK but it is expensive if you want to add your Fitbit etc. Despite what it says the pedometer function is not available as a one-off in-app purchase. If you want to sync your device you have to pay an ongoing monthly fee. Also, the scanner is primitive and the food/restaurant database is not worldwide nor is it very accurate. If you're prepared to calculate all your own food values and just want somewhere to track your points on a program which WW no longer supports then this app does its job..Version: 3.3.0

No App Sync - what a disappointmentThe App itself seems great so far, but the fact you can not sync between your mobile devices is a huge disappointment. We are in 2016, quite unbelievable! Unfortunately, will have to change App..Version: 3.2.0

ProblemsOne part is telling me ww is free next part asking to pay. How do you log you food.Version: 4.1.5

Standard plan free - but I have to take out premium to use the database?I had this on my old phone and loved it. I prefer to follow pro points system and this was the standard plan. I think I paid a one off fee and it was just a few pounds to have the standard plan. I downloaded again and whilst I can pick standard plan, when I try to use the database to search I need to take out a premium option! Disappointed in this change. Deleted from my phone. Will look for something else..Version: 4.3.1

Ripped offPurchased this app, set a pin for privacy and the first time I go to access the app, my pin comes up incorrect. I emailed the help desk and the only way they can help me is if I upgrade to a premium user. I have tried every four digit pin I use and none of them work. I refuse to believe that I set a four digit pin with some random combination that I never use. Feeling very ripped off indeed..Version: 3.6.3

It's not badBarcode rarely works not that user friendly make it simpler.Version: 2.4.1

Free version useless, don’t botherThis used to be a really good free app and I used it a few years ago and successfully tracked what I ate and did loose a bit of weight. I’ve come back to it now, however nothing in the free app works, constantly being told to upgrade whenever I click on anything..Version: 4.3.1

Pedometer don’t workI have paid premium for more than two years. Pedometer didn’t work last 6 months or more. App ask you to pay premium to access, when I got premium already. So disappointed!.Version: 4.3.1

Lost all my data!!This app would have easily got 5 stars but ever since the update it lost my weight progress and all my measurement progress from when I started which is upsetting..Version: 3.5.2

Very few useful items in databaseIt worked for a friend but I am finding it much harder to use than my calorie-based app because the DB search is useless. Eg I asked for roast lamb and it gave me roast coffee!! Dropped it to lamb only and it still couldn’t find any. I haven’t got the time or energy to enter everything by hand..Version: 3.6.2

Not as good as it used to beI had this app approximately 5 years ago as it was better than paying out for WW, it was fantastic. New version is nowhere near as good because of a lot of features being ‘premium’. Disappointing!.Version: 3.9.1

Premium version is glitchy and doesn’t have foodsFinally upgraded to the premium version hoping there would be move foods that registered when I scan them. There isn’t and the app locks up all the time. Extremely glitchy, do not recommend the premium version but the free is fine..Version: 4.3.1

Purple panI have just upgraded to purple plan and the eating out guide is not for uk restaurants. Have tried to contact someone to see how to change this to uk and it keeps saying my e mail address is wrong yet it’s right for the plan. Anyone know show to change the eating out guide to uk restaurants and not us?.Version: 4.3.1

Don't waste you moneyThis app is a trick after I bought I tried to connect it to my Fitbit they ask me to pay for premium account, and any other options inside the app, this app is useless without the premium account. So you going to pay twice. Lose it is a good app actually, I tried both the free and premium account and both are great..Version: 3.4.0

Did not like itPut in all my information did everything that it asked me to and then it stopped. I couldn’t do anything else I could’ve move forward I just didn’t understand it, it didn’t look like what it did on the display before I purchased this app very disappointed..Version: 3.7.2

Barcode scanner needs improvingLoads of items unable to scan. I did get in touch it didn’t help..Version: 3.6.2

DisappointedThis is the third time I’ve bought this app. This is the most complicated and if you want the extra premium functions then it’s £1.99 a month extra. Very frustrating..Version: 3.8.0

Here’s the thingThe way a company or app developer treats its paying customers is a big deal. I don’t know what I’m dropping $26 on or even $5 for a month. Without having some type of free trial I could be throwing away five bucks that I truly need right now in this economy. So to come to the reviews to see what people are saying and then find a review where the developer is straight up being rude to a paying customer raises all the red flags for me. I’ve used this app in the past to track Simply Filling and I had a good experience but that was in 2015. So yes, five years ago this app was awesome. Is it now? Who knows..Version: 4.1.5

Good appThis is a good App but see today that my weeklies are going down then going back up again. I should have 28 weeklies left to last me till Wednesday it showed 30 yesterday, now it’s showing 46.Version: 4.1.5

MrsThis is a good app if you are doing weight watchers. Although a lot of foods in the database are American, so I've had to add most of my foods I like to eat. Also the iPhone version does not currently have a recipe builder which is annoying, but apparently that is coming soon. For 0.99 it's a lot cheaper than joining ww online for access to their database, and it's an easy app to use. With the recipe builder it will be a 4 star app..Version: V1.4.0

Not reliable anymore :(I used this app a year ago which was almost always right but since I've started using it agin I've noticed a lot of thing are not pointed right. Takeaway costa points are totally wrong. I'd be careful when using the app and double check points..Version: 3.5.2

Has potential......but as I was comparing with official app and realised a lot of points are wrong- In some cases by 4/5 points. A lot of US products and measurements and lot of food data not there. Shame as I was hoping this was going to be a good alternative..Version: 3.7.2

So-SoI really like the app and all of its features (the scanner is brilliant), but it's so busy and difficult to follow. Would be nice if you took a page from similar apps and streamlined the look. Until then it's too hard to use 😕.Version: 2.4.1

Good valueWorks well and covers a lot of English food, others had mainly USA foods. Mirrors Weight Watchers fairly accurately. Has too many conflicting entries so needs looking at to be useful.Version: 4.3.1
