✓ Time for a breakup?I used to love this game - I have been playing for years. Lately it has become a frustrating struggle to play. ✓ Had to delete.I've had a streak completing the daily puzzles for over 3 years, completed all the new packs, almost every puzzle in the game was solved... but when an app has the opportunity to turn off the volume, AND my sound on my phone is off, and your believe your little app gets to bypass that and turn my volume on? For an AD?? Horrific and unacceptable. I have sensory issues and sudden noises I'm not expecting cause them to flare up - not to mention how often I wanted to do these puzzles in places that needed to be quiet. I understand needing ads, but you do NOT get to lie to consumers and literally change what my phone is doing. I've brought this up before and NOTHING changed. How terribly disappointing to have to delete something that's been a part of my daily life for years - but the puzzles are NOT fun enough to justify the frustration, panic attacks, and trouble. ✓ Latest update took 5 stars to 3.5I have long loved play the flo free games for at least 6 maybe 7 years. I find it both relaxing and mentally challenging. This is 1 game I have talked a few other seniors into trying as it makes a great form of mental exercise. In fact I had to reset my progress a second time while back as I had cleared all boards perfect (guess that can explain 1,350 days playing?) When I realized the new update removed the option to watch commercials for hints. Between fact that I am an elderly disabled person on a fixed income and I occasionally try out games I see advertised I miss that option. As I occasionally need those hints especially with some of the newer levels to avoid excessive frustration. Was the removal of that option intentional or accidental? I am hoping accidental..Version: 4.3

Just adds an extra step if you're genuinely wanting to use the app. It's a ridiculous cash grab making people pay the $7 or whatever to make it ad free. ✓ A good game ruinedThe game itself is fine, but it’s impossible to play now as it constantly loads the App Store before I can make a move. I tried deleting and reloading but it persists. This time I’m deleting and will not be subjecting myself to the ridiculous grab for my attention or whatever you’re trying to do. I can handle the ads from time to time - that’s how the developers make money. But incessantly loading the App Store is more than intrusive, it makes the game impossible to play at all. ✓ Forced into insanityI love this game. I played it a few years back and even googled it the other day so I could find it and reload and play again. Like others that have left reviews my problem is with the adverts or should I say advert, as so far there has only been one. I don’t mind adverts but this one does not run the length of it’s ad unless you ‘play’ it and at the end there is no option to leave the advert ie no ‘x’ to press on, only install. And the ad pops up every level almost. I’m feeling disappointed and somewhat bullied by this advert already and am so tempted to now remove free flow from my games simply because of this ad. I refuse to pay to be rid of adverts. I don’t have very much money which is why I play free games and put up with the ads but you don’t get anyway out of this ad. There is no escape.Version: 3.3

✓ Ads for gambling are getting far worseReally love the game, and happy to put up with advertising in general cases, but recent changes seem to have allowed some ads to automatically open up the App Store for gambling apps (888, Bet365, etc) without any interaction or warning. Not sure how this is acceptable in apple’s rules, and a terrible thing for a game that young people could be playing. If this is some hack that advertisers have found, then there has to be a way to stop it. If this is something that the developer has designed to increase ad revenue then apple should really be putting a stop to it - if this was diverting to a website in a browser then iOS would issue a prompt to ask whether it was ok for the app to open the browser (i.e. it would require some intentional interaction from the user), whereas this diverts without interaction. Is this really ok? Not something I’m happy to support..Version: 4.4
✓ Even paid version has adsAfter I paid to remove advertisements it still presents advertisements if you want hints and agree to watch a ‘video’. there is no end to the ‘video’ which is just an advertisement. Had to terminate the app in order to return to the game. Greedy developers. Take my $7.99 and be glad of it. You’ll only drive me away by using dark patterns. ✓ Terrible Navigation ChangesI love Flow Free. I give it five stars, however, I hate the new navigation changes made in the latest update. Darn, I keep forgetting to turn off automatic updates. There used to be forward and back arrows on every puzzle so you could change puzzles whenever wanted. Now there is a big light bulb right in the center to purchase hints which I keep accidentally hitting and no forward arrow at all so you have to back out to the puzzles to choose a new one. I liked the old way because sometimes you find a puzzle hard and just want to skip forward knowing when you come back later you will be able to see that puzzle differently and be able to solve it. I suppose the light bulb is there to make money selling hints, but I am never going to confirm the purchase of a hint even if I accidentally hit it. Maybe I will get used to it, but it sure is annoying. It was perfect before. Don’t change a good thing..Version: 4.3

✓ Can I just sayFlow Free is a reasonably challenging game with engaging levels and not an overload of ads like how many great games have been ruined. I like how there are different modes such as different sized grids as well as the normal modes like Easy and Medium and Hard. ✓ Free version with ads is AWFULDo NOT download this thinking you’re getting a free game that you can upgrade to a paid purchase if you like it enough, or that has a few ads placed around the game or at the end. The ads are incessant and most are nearly impossible to close, interrupting any attempt to try to play more than one game that lasts less than 30 seconds, if that. They cover the whole screen, most don’t have Xs to close them, instead there’s another little icon that takes you to another game demo/purchase screen with the Done option, but if you close that, you just end up in a loop and the fastest way out is to quit the app and start over. My 6-year-old wanted to try this because he saw a friend playing it and I figured some brain teasers were harmless enough for some quiet time. Instead he was screaming in frustration every minute because he kept getting blocked and I had to keep “fixing” it until I couldn’t stand it anymore. Also the intro levels are so easy they aren’t even challenging enough for a kindergartener. He skipped far ahead ….Version: 4.7
✓ It’s Worth Five StarsThis app is lovely! I’ve completed 24 out 26 levels and, although I must have watched 500 odd half minute adverts to get free hints and around 3700 five second ads in between the individual puzzles, it was genuinely worth it. Some genuinely good products advertised, too. Unfortunately the past two completed puzzles got stuck on the short advert with no way to move on to the next puzzle. So I’m taking a break from Flow Free so as not to get frustrated with having to continually restart the app. Flow Free is actually worth 5 stars, but I’m not a happy girl about the adverts getting stuck, so for now it gets 3 stars..Version: 3.5
✓ AdsI do not complain about responsible use of ads on a free game. I have heard enough reasons for them to last a lifetime, so we don’t have to rehash the need for a revenue stream or the way to keep the app free. I give you just one (1) ⭐️ because the ads are used irresponsibly. It is HOW and WHEN you use them that is the problem. There are too, too many, they interrupt playing the game, they are much too long, and the means to close them takes the player through several screens to get back to the game. The time for the “X” to appear is just too lengthy. The ads occur about every 4 or 5 levels and run on multiple screens as long or longer than it takes to complete the games levels between them. It is annoying, more annoying than the game is fun, so while I have enjoyed the game itself, I do not like it enough to endure the ads as you choose to use them.
