✓ Good emulation; needs autofireThis is a faithful emulated version of the game, with good pixel scaling and expected options. However, the touch controls need some work. I'm willing to allow the fact that slide control isn't as easy to implement compared to R-Type and EDF due to the different character speeds or even built-in NeoGeo technical challenges, but an autofire option seems like it should have been a foregone conclusion -- auto by default, then hold a button to charge shots, right? Not so here. In addition, the button sizes on the iPhone version are a little too small, especially the joystick -- a scaling option would be appreciated. Nevertheless, it's a suitable emulation that just needs a little more care in the control..Version: Ver.1.00

Also it would be nice to have a touch movement multiplier like other games- where if you move a small amount the ship moves further to prevent strain on the fingers. Also please consider enabling the game video to be shrunk (e.g. include pinch zoom in video setup) and placed off to the side so the fingers don't cover the game video..Version: 1.2.1

✓ CompetentAll in all this is a pretty good conversion, plays well with touch controls as well as pad. However I’d like to see some tweaks. When using pad control you can either have auto fire on or off. It would be nice to have auto fire on button press and a separate button for a charge shot. incidentally multiple buttons on a pad and not currently utilised within the game. It would also be nice if menu navigation was more intuitive with a pad. Separate to that, it seems that a small update is going to be needed on the latest iOS, as level 2 has major flickering on the background..Version: 1.3.1

✓ Avoid on newer devicesThis is unplayable (like all snk games) on newer (retina devices are not really new anymore snk, come on...) devices. specifically on iphone 5s AND ipad air the screen displays in landscape mode but the app is forced to portrait mode and this cuts off most of the screen. An email to snk support has not yet yielded any results either. Avoid this app if you have kept up at all with apple devices in the last 2 years... ✓ Those touch controls...Ugh ! Such a great game ruined by touch controls. SNK, you are supposed to be in the top three of arcade kings. None of the control scheme for moving the ship is good enough for this kind of game. No need for autofire but fix the virtual joystick or the "touch ship" controls. I think you've actually manage to do a worse virtual joystock than Square Enix with their games (Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana ) and yours truly need a great control scheme. Because otherwise, what a great game. Great port, still holds up, but the controls...THE CONTROLS ! :P Seriously at this point big names like SNK, Capcom and Square have no reason whatsoever to come up short with bad touch controls like that. And you should realize how much better the publicity if one of those could finally nail it !.Version: Ver.1.00

✓ Not happy, doesn't even deserve 1 starI jumped at the chance to be able to play this on my phone... Trouble is, you can't play it if your IOS is up to date. If you've not got IOS 7 this game might just work! I can't get past the select screen and even start the game. There is a little disclaimer stating that they can't guarantee it will work on IOS 7???? ✓ So Close - And Yet So FarThis is not only a classic shooter - but one of the all time greats. Great graphics, sound, gameplay...add up to one the best Shoot-em Ups of all time. So when I saw that this was available as an app for the iphone I was beyond stoked. And everything is there. The only problem is that the control just does not work. I am not sure if the detection is off or what but you can't have the types of delay that I've experienced with this in a bullet heavy SHMUP, and it's everything from being able to move the ship to the fire button. I do not know how they are going to fix it, but until they do you should wait. The reality is that the game is not playable with the current control set-up. I do not believe I am the only one logging this particular complaint either. Lots of folks gave this a 5 star rating (which is fine based on the game's actual merits), but without the ability to actually play it I can't give it the rating I also think it deserves..Version: Ver.1.00
✓ Wow, no leaderboardsA shooter with no leaderboards? What's the point? The only leaderboards I see in Game Center are for a d-pad control. No touch control. Besides that the touch controls are bad! DotEmu fixed the controls and has leaderboards for Raiden Legacy, but has done nothing here. Even if you like this game, I'd skip it. There are a few other poorly done shmups out there too; people need to learn that a shmup on iOS is touch controlled. There is no speed difference for different ships. And for the love of Sasquatch, shmups are about scoring - give us a leaderboard!.Version: 1.1 Ver.

✓ Great game, but lazy port with terrible controlsThe dpad has awful spacing and sensitivity. Space invaders infinity gene did this best, but I'm not certain that solution would help this game. I feel SNK should rework the level pacing to fit the slower, less responsive nature of touchscreen controls. That way, the game will feel more natural on the device..Version: Ver.1.00
