✓ Really Unfortunate UpdateWhy oh why tamper with this? I have subscribed since edition 1. On uploading the new update, and restoring purchases, the app did not restore anything and instead I am having to download individual copies of the last 20 editions again. And the download speed seems very slow compared with how it used to be. And when Im downloading the app doesn't show that I am downloading. So irritating to me when the old version of this app worked perfectly well. Oh - and nearly forgot - it won't let me download issue 1 for free, it wants to charge me for an edition I had before..Version: 3.1.3

✓ Sloooooow DownloadThe mag is quite good for a weekly. The content is also quite good, with videos and dynamic content. The only frustrating thing is the painfully slow downloads. It takes at least 1hour to download a new issue, if I keep watching the download. If I switch to another mag, and let this download it in the background it takes forever!!!! I read 10 other magazines on my iPad, nothing takes more than 2 minutes to download, even with larger content. This app seems to retain all the data even if issues are deleted so the only way to reduce its size is to delete and reinstall the app regularly, this needs fixing, the app was over 5gb in size! ✓ Problems downloading which publisher doesn't seem to care about!I have had problems downloading the magazines - in so much as the files are corrupt and I can not actually read the magazine. I have followed their instructions and re downloaded the offending issues - but to no avail. As with all magazines from Focus group they are not very helpful and merely redirect you to Apple. ✓ Good info, but takes forever to downloadI do enjoy this magazine, but for somebody stuck on slow internet this takes FOREVER to load. There is absolutely no reason these downloads need to be 400mb or more! I subscribe to other photo magazines on zinio and they are around 100mb tops. Please stop with the HD videos, or give an option of a smaller download size! The UI while reading is also needlessly fussy an annoying. ✓ Employ some techies please!The mag is good enough, but no technical support whatsoever. Downloading, if it works, is painfully slow and only works when the app is open thereby rendering your ipad useless for hours on end. If you consider subscribing, my advice would be to wait until they are actually able to deliver a magazine. ✓ Slow downloads and poor navigationHave to agree with loads of other reviewers that the monolithic downloads required by this app are appalling. Need to switch to some form of streamed or partial download and/or improve server capacity. Not just that but navigation within the app is tedious and unintuitive. ✓ Please fix the issueI have a similar problem to the reviewer above. I have purchased all the issues since issue 1 and they were all downloaded. The app tells me I need to download them again, however my usage stats still show a large amount of data for the app on the iPad (5.5GB). This is obviously all the previously downloaded data. The app overall is very good, but now spoiled by a poorly thought out upgrade. I don't know whether to delete the data and download it all again or wait for a fix..Version: 3.1.3

✓ Great content spoiled by the app!!Been reading PW for a while having taken the annual subscription and I really like the look and feel, and the content is great for weekly bite sized readable chunks. The app is shocking. It takes for ever to download an issue, and if you flip to another app it stops the download, and regardless of what the settings say I haven't been able to get it to automatically download. I end up skipping numerous issues because I can't get the thing to download in time the when I want to read it!! A really frustrating experience. ✓ Oh dear, oh dear!There's an old saying... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Have been a subscriber since issue 1 and downloaded every issue, no problems at all. Then, somebody, somewhere chose to 'upgrade' the app. I've lost my entire library - all 20 issues - and to get them back, I have to download them all again. Every single one... Issue 1 has now been downloading or 7 hours (yes, 7!) and is still at 86%. Worse... when you do select the 'download' option, there's no indicator to tell you the progress... so unless you use a pen and paper to note which issues you're re-downloading, it's going to be guesswork. I like the magazine, honestly. But the upgrade is shambolic and ill conceived. It comes across as a technician's wet dream, born of a need to be seen to be doing something at work, on a salary that we subscribers help pay for. Heed the outgoing Groupon CEO folks - start with the customer - and stay there. If this is still as bad in a fortnight, you'll be losing another subscriber! ✓ Poor, REALLY poorThe process of getting started with the download is terribly convoluted and annoying with endless things to do. Once you FINALLY complete your purchase the magazine is a pretty terrible experience, the pages don’t even fit my iPad properly and it basically feels like a cheap PDF. On top of this the magazine itself only consists of around 36 pages which is utterly ridiculous. I thought half of it was missing. OK to read at a push for five minutes but after that, well, you might as well surf the net as you will probably find more content. I remember when magazines were first launched on iPad, they were incredible with interactive 3D models, tons of videos and loads of other stuff to keep you interested. Now it just feels like a cheap and nasty experience. I doubt, unless it improves significantly, that I will continue with it for long!! 👎👎👎.Version: 6.0.6

✓ Hot and cold weeksIt's great that the magazine comes out weekly. When they ran 'theme' competitions, they really held my attention, especially when I got a shot published. On the down-side, the content is a little 'light' except for the reviews, and the app seems to have a lot of bugs - currently asking me to pay, when I already have a subscription, so I've stopped downloading. I won't be renewing my subscription unless they iron out some of the bugs, and include a 'meatier' article each week - say something on technique..Version: 3.8.1

✓ Great magazine, some bugs in the appI've been reading this magazine now almost since day one. The magazine is truly unique, and I really like it. However, the app seems to have some sort of memory. As I delete issues, the app continues to hold the same space on my iPad. I find I need to delete the app every few weeks and re-install it or the thing takes over my iPad.
