✓ Glitches make this app a liabilityI love this app—it’s easy to use, provides you with control over important variables (such as whether or not to use iOS voice processing features when you record), and offers various effects. Unfortunately, those effects can be hazardous to use: for some reason, if you attempt to use the trim/add effect function, the app will sometimes automatically trim a recording to 0:02 in length. I’ve duplicated recordings and tried this multiple times and, even though I’m certain I haven’t trimmed the recording at all, the app is determined to provide me with only half a percent of the original audio. I’ve lost one file in this way and now encourage other users to select ‘create new recording’ when applying effects lest they should lose their own audio. Never overwrite the original file. Delete it only when you’re sure that this app has preserved its original duration, which is, sadly, not something you can rely upon..Version: 4.0.0
✓ Exported audio volume is VERY low!!!ALL of my recordings on this app have extremely low audio when I export by email, upload to cloud etc! I tried exporting via all the available options on the app but I have to crank my volume all the way up just to get the faintest whisper of sound from my recordings. Don’t know what I did wrong, but I used the app with the default settings and the audio plays from my iPad at the right volume, which leaves me wondering if the exporting process is broken. I also tried to edit the audio using another app on the same iPad I recorded with, but got the same low volume issue; it wasn’t as low as on other devices I exported to but it was still MUCH lower than normal..Version: 3.6.3
✓ App Freezes / No SupportI used this app several years ago to record research interviews and and it worked fine. However, after updating to the latest version and making a recording more recently, the app froze when I tried to send myself a download link so that I could download the file. It now appears I have no option but to delete and reinstall the app, losing my recording (which has key information in it) in the process. The support website for this app receives no attention from the app developers; as such, most of the questions posted there go unanswered..Version: 3.3.6
✓ Apple Watch recordings not always transferring to iPhoneThis is one of the best recording apps for the iPhone with amazing features. There is a bug which is very frustrating in that if using an Apple Watch to initiate a recording from the Apple Watch, the file does not always transfer to the iPhone. There doesn’t seem to be a way of doing this manually. So you can only listen to the recording on the Apple Watch. :(.Version: 3.7.5
✓ Awful File SharingI like the app, it records well, but after performing 60 takes with an immediate need to share multiple files quickly, there is no easy way to do it. You have every option needed for sharing an individual file, but limited to email sharing for multiple selections, and even then it’s a nightmare. Making you click on a link for each individual file, within the email, 60 times, then you have click 60 browser based links to download the files. Absolute nightmare. Just add the ability to share multiple files in the same way you can individual ones. It’s takes me 60 minutes to do what should be a 1 minute job..Version: 3.6.6
✓ I have an issueThe app is very professional, but there’s one glaring issue every time I use it; how do you edit or add to recordings? I’m doing an audiobook and was 10 minutes into a chapter and the app kicked me out of the recording process because of low battery, and I can’t seem to start from where I left off. ✓ Keeps freezing mid recordingLove this app, but occasionally it “has days” where it just freezes randomly mid recording and screws up everything and I have to restart. It’s unrelated to wifi or whether I restart my phone. It’ll just record, then eg at 2 minutes in, freeze and not record anything for 20-50 seconds, then resume. Extremely frustrating. So after you’re done and review your segment, you’ll have a gap in your recording. I can’t be the only person this happens to. Fix your app..Version: 3.6.3

✓ Works well until you want to free up storageThis is a handy app for recording voice audios and is reliable, though there is a lot of buzzing/white noise on the recordings at times. It would be good if it included an option to remove this. The big problem I have with it, though, is the way it’s eating up storage on my iPhone. Deleting files never frees up space from the phone - once you’ve recorded, that’s it, the space is gone forever it seems! The files are deleted, but space is not freed. This is now causing problems for me, as it’s taking over 5gb of space on my phone, despite not having many actual files saved and available in the app and I can’t reduce it no matter what I do. If this was fixed it would be a 4/5 star app, but this is a big drawback..Version: 3.6.8
✓ Great app, but….Is there a way to append/continue/resume a recording after it has been recorded? Can’t find the option anywhere. Surely with all the options this app has, it would have the option to continue. I can only find “append to another recording”. Continue is a must-have for a songwriter. ✓ Has been a great AppI have been using this App for many years and it worked flawlessly. However, just recently, its recording has started producing some glitches which I am unable to trace out. There was no issue with my iPhone mic as Voice Memo was recording perfectly at the same time. ✓ Top of the line recording app!!!The app is great..has more then what you can ask and does more then what you can think of. Reason I gave it 3 stars if because out of all the great and wonderful feature it has, it can’t record on Apple Watch or iPhone let say if the screen of Apple Watch goes black. It would be great if it can record without showing that it is recording for those important moments in life that needs to be recorded without others around knowing that you are because it shows on Apple Watch or iPhone screen. This would be a great spy feature on this app and also on Apple Watch if it could record simultaneously without others knowing. If this feature could be added without removing the others great features that it has I would give it 10 stars because no other app can compare to this one except for the fact that it can’t record simultaneously while Apple Watch screen is dark or off or on sleep..Version: 3.2.4
✓ Repeat button stopped workingThis app was previously fantastic, I often used it to learn talks that I needed to deliver. I would record the talk and then play it on repeat and listen to it over and over again while I worked. However after the latest update the repeat button has stopped working. ✓ Super super buggyThe app disconnects my Bluetooth headset. The only way to make it work is by having another app opened in the background. Very very finicky. This app is extremely buggy, especially when using “advanced” recording mode. The engine’s input gain does not change even though the slider that adjusts it can be moved. The input gain value remains unchanged (can’t be changed by entering a desired value either). When the signal is clipped the whole recording gets “stuck” in that distorted range and has to be started all over again. This makes the app pretty much unusable unless you settle for a non WAV recording. EDIT 2023: this app is even more buggy on iPad Pro 12.9. Complete junk..Version: 4.0.0
✓ Like losing your audio?This app is ridiculously frustrating during recording.n There seems to be a magical combination of buttons that must clicked in order to keep from losing your audio. Whatever you do, don't try using anything like pause during recording. This "option" appears to erase everything recorded AFTER you resume recording. For example, I completed an hour long interview this morning, tapping pause early in the recording. I promptly tapped resume when I was ready to continue. I checked the time ticker throughout the recording to ensure that it was recording. When I finished, I tapped pause again. Then stop (as I have learned in the past when it erased another interview, this is the other "magical" combination necessary to keep it from erasing your recordings). The only audio I have from this morning's interview is pre the initial pause - a huge 1 minute of 60 minutes worth of audio. I have contacted Dayana's technical support via email to try and recover the lost audio from this morning. I've heard nothing back from them. Don't risk your data by using this ridiculous app..Version: 3.4.8
✓ Excellent performance and attributesI use it to make and send recordings. I appreciate the functions allowing colour coding, renaming, appending and editing. Being able to email from the app is excellent. If sending to others I recommend emailing to self first then forwarding from your emai account l. ✓ Great recording & and editing App.I have used this little App to record a 30 person 4 part harmony choir rehearsals for the past 2 years. I edit down the 2 hour rehearsal into individual lessons and songs. It’s great. What I would love is when editing I can digitally enter exactly the time I want to place an edit cut. ✓ Adjustable input gain gone?I’ve been an avid user of this app since 2013. It’s been my primary source to record any ideas since then. Recently it seems that they’ve gotten rid of a huge function in the app, adjustable input gain level. It used to be when you start a new recording a sliding fader would appear allowing you to adjust your input gain level. I’ve searched for a while now and I can’t seem to find this option anymore. To the developers of the app, please bring this function back. It was useful beyond recognition, it allowed you to calibrate your device to any setting for the best possible quality recording. With this setting available the app deserves five stars; it’s reliable, consistent, organized, and easy to use. To the other users: have you found this to be the case too?.Version: 3.4.6

✓ Good quality but massive corruption problems.Was using this app myself and with my sister in order to podcast record. On four different occasions now our files have corrupted, hers turning to static and mine losing half the audio (for example a 28 minute file saving as 16 minutes) - we both have plenty of storage and specs required but there is clearly something terribly wrong with this app and has been extremely frustrating and detrimental. I was trying to stick by it due to the range of settings but unfortunately I’m going to find something that actually works from now on..Version: 3.6.3
✓ What happenedUsed for years and now you record a memo And when you out pause ans then continue the recording is all garbled. Taped several lessons that teachers allow us to do to listen later to make sure notes are good and now after the pause the recordings are unintelligible ! I wish I could post the recordings here. So when I realized this happened I did a recording in my house if one minute, 30 secs speaking, then paused for 15 secs and continued recording for next 15 secs The last portion after the pause is all garbled ans unintelligible! I did this on mp3 , wav and m4a all with same results. I just can’t delete the app and then download again because I’ll loose several important recordings. Everytime I calibrated the mic. ✓ App deterioratedI have been using this app since it first came out. It was excellent and can’t fault it’s ease of use, quality of recording and the fact it is free. However, in the last couple of months it stops recording around 30 minutes. It doesn’t warn me so I’m left with an incomplete recording. I have reloaded the app but it is still doing it. ✓ Didn’t work for meBearing in mind the excellent review, I downloaded the free version, with a view perhaps to buying the pro version. I was impressed by all the features and it’s apparent simplicity to use. I then recorded a test memo, staying silent for the first 7 seconds and then speaking. I then chose the advanced edit option in order to get rid of the silent 7 seconds. So I moved the coloured sliders and chose the first 7 seconds. I then pressed the x button/icon at top of screen and it seemed to delete the first 7 seconds, I pressed play to double check and that was fine. I then naturally wanted to save the whole recording, but the save button at top right of screen was “grayed out” so I could not save the recording. Very frustrating....Version: 3.6.1
✓ Paid for it but…I paid and used this app for several months without fail and loved it. yesterday it started saying it could not authenticate my OneDrive. It gave me no option to sign in again and i can’t establish the link. I removed the app and reloaded and it. Now i have Ads and can’t seem to get rid of them. ✓ Great in SOME Functions FATAL in OthersThis has a great app if recording and basic editing is what you want. The sharing features are excellent as is the creating of movie frames to give visual cards. As others have said never overwrite your file unless you are sure it is what you want. A major issue is connecting audio jacks with iPhone adapters. Even with Rode audio mics and accessories there is audio-killing buzz. This is a fatal flaw which forces us to use older iPhones such don’t have this issue. After multiple assessments Apple insists it’s not their end. A recording impasse. I wonder if other users have found the same issue connecting wired mics?.Version: 4.0.0
