Spending Tracker for Negative User Reviews

The good, the bad and the ugly...The good: Don’t have to sync bank accounts with the app, no bank account errors or sync issues, don’t have to pay a monthly fee for using the app like other financial apps, a flat one time fee of less than $10 is needed to unlock Premium features for the app. The bad: You have to manually put in all your transactions and do everything else (except the calculations for the balances). You have to pay that one time fee if you really need to use the app on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. The ugly: I could never figure out how to use the “budget mode” and had to figure out, with help from Heaven, how to use this app for budgeting. I emailed the support guy on help with setting up a budget and all he did was repeat a step in the instructions to set the app to budget mode which was no help to me at all. I setup an account with my expenses as income for my budget and compare them to my transactions that I put in my financial institutions accounts that I made. I keep my budget and income rolling from month to month and if I need to change my budget and my income I can (which is a good thing)..Version: 2.7.3.1

Not recommendedAll I want is an app that I can enter what I get paid weekly and add up my cost etc.. This app fails to do that.Version: 1.2

Grrr!!!I want to be able to go to each of my accounts and see what is going on and coming out of them, with a running balance (like a Register or Statement)... but this won’t do it! It will only show my chequing account..Version: 2.8.1

Gives forced reviewJust not too good, and slightly hard to understand. Also, the calculations might be wrong..Version: 3.0

This is the oneTried several. All failed to provide what I wanted, a monthly expense/income tracker that didn't ask for your bank and credit card information. This syncs so my wife and I are always on the same page, we can track multiple accounts, and data can be exported. Update- We’ve had several issues with one device suddenly not updating and this has forced us to reset all the data and basically have to start over. Our solution was to simply text all spending to the one device and record from there. The other function we’d like to see is a ‘Returns’ category that credits spending without including the value into income. Otherwise you’re left having to figure out which specific expense to credit and if you’re family is like ours the returns don’t always happen immediately so finding that expense is a pain..Version: 2.8.1

DisappointedDownloaded this app a couple of days ago and quickly upgraded to pro. I thought it was just what I was looking for and was impressed. I upgraded mainly to remove adverts, save and sync and input recurring expenses. This is when I was disappointed. Save and sync involved Dropbox which I found very complicated and quickly removed it. Adverts were removed ( the constant advert was almost always for Temu). Although this has been removed I now find that this same advert is flooding my phone on various apps and games which is annoying and worrying. Considering deleting as I find this worrying hence 3 stars.Version: 3.0

No Good Without BackupI've used this app for over a year and found it pretty easy to use with good features showing spending trends, history, carry over, etc. However, I noticed that Auto-Backup was not working. I contacted the dev who responded and tried to offer solution but to no avail. In the end, the answer was pretty much keep trying and see what happens! I persevered but Auto-Backup happens intermittently-when the app feels like doing it, it would appear. Now I have discovered that a manual backup succeeds to Dropbox but Auto-Backup, on the occasions it happens, does not actually result in a backup file in Dropbox! In the app it shows a backup has been performed but it hasn't. This is completely unacceptable. Unless you can be certain that your data is being backed up you cannot have confidence in any app. The manual backup appears to work; at least it appears in Dropbox but if automatic backup is a feature then it should work and, on my fully updated iPad Pro, it doesn't. If the backup worked I would give 5 stars for this app but with this failing I can only give 2 stars..Version: 2.11

Great but needs an UpdateJust started using this app this month and it’s great but the only issue I have is that it doesn’t have a “Custom” feature under time period to track one’s spending from one specific date of choice to the next one instead of the usual “Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearly.” For example I’ve noticed that when tracking the Yearly time period transactions under budget mode it shows the total budget from January to December by including budget amounts from previous months as well which can be misleading since I only started using the App in October this year..Version: 3.0

Useful but..::I just got this app and I find it useful in tracking my daily expenses. As soon as I make the purchase or pay for my monthly bills I input it right away into the system therefore it allows me to stay on top of my spending. I am still debating on paying the fee and am still looking around for a better app because there ar some things that I want in the app. For instance, I cannot share the whole expenses to my husband without us sitting together and him scrolling thru my phone to see the detail of the expense. Another thing is I want to print it but there’s no option for that either. Although, I wish there’s a separate window for just the carry over and income so I can screen shot and share it but the income & expense detail are all incorporated in one window (transactions) and there are no sort option like if I want to see just the Income and Carry over. I will stay in this app if they can improve on that. I hope my suggestions will be taken into consideration..Version: 2.10.1

Not badThis needs regular updates and a sync with bank accounts in NZ for it to be really good!.Version: 2.8.1

Apple WatchI just can’t get it to sync with my Apple Watch..Version: 3.0

First dayI downloaded this app yesterday (and purchased the £2.99 upgrade) and allocated some time today to input all my regular expenses and income. All of that is very easy to do and didn’t take long even though we have several accounts with plenty of direct debits etc! What I haven’t managed to do yet, that I was hoping to be able to: 1) establish how much I have left to spend this month taking into account future regular outgoings, and 2) allocate budgets to specific areas of spending such as eating out and food shopping. It looks like budgets can only be applied to the account as a whole which doesn’t help me to monitor and control spending in each area. I don’t know if I’m making it too complicated, but the app is telling me that I have far more to spend than I actually will have after all the regular payments have been taken out. The balance is showing as the same balance as my bank account but obvs this isn’t the amount I have left to spend for the month, it’s the amount in the account as of today. Maybe I just need to use it for a couple of months to give it chance to regulate itself? So two stars because the app is easy to use but no more because of to not doing what I wanted it to when I downloaded it. I will come back and review again in a couple of months..Version: 2.7.2

It does what it’s meant to do.Works on Apple watch, easy and simple to navigate. I recommend it..Version: 3.0

No syncingI had high hopes when I read the first review about being able to sync the data with other devices so multiple people can track spending. The thing the app doesn’t tell you is that you need the pro version to sync with Dropbox to be able to sync with someone else. And for that person to sync with you, they need to upgrade to pro as well, which just happens to be an in app purchase which doesn’t qualify for family sharing. The app lists it’s compatible with Family sharing, which is misleading. Very disappointed..Version: 2.8.1

Purchases not workingI already purchased the add on on my iPhone but I can’t restore it on my iPad. The application is the same across both iPhone and iPad..Version: 3.0
