✓ Old newsBecause this paper is down to a handful of Employees , some of the news on the app is a day or two old. Not worth it..Version: 5.21.3
✓ Total "Bull****"Anytime a local news source chooses to require a fee for information about a serious health threat, it gives the public insight about the motivating philosophy behind that source. We have a constitutional right to a free press in this country. Some would argue that refers only to freedom of expression for the news source. However, I feel many more would argue that we as citizens of a country in the midst of a terrible pandemic have a right to free news affecting our very existence. YOUR MOTIVATION IS OBVIOUSLY GREED! ✓ JokeThis app is a joke. It never recognizes my subscription and never lets me read the articles after my 5 free for a month even though I have a paid subscription that’s is suppose to allow me access to all articles. On top of that there is no way to contact customer service. Star Press sends you to Gannet their parent company then Gannet sends you to Star Press. Muncie at its finest. ✓ Very disappointed!I subscribed to the digital edition of the Star Press, what a waste! Same stories for several days in a row. It was my understanding that the digital edition was the same as the print. However, I see stories on the front page of the printed edition that I never see in digital! ✓ Very slowThis app is fancier than the previous version, but loads very slowly on my phone. The previous version loaded quickly and was easier to navigate than the current version. As before, stories are not updated within a reasonable time, and I often find the bulk of the stories to be several days old. Push notifications often arrive when there is not yet a real story. It seems obvious to me that developing this project and maintaining this site is very low priority for Gannett..Version: 2.0.3

I can’t find a phone number, and there is no way to cancel online Also, my initial digital subscription was $9.95 Now, I’m up for a yearly renewal and they are charging me $48 without any prior notice! ✓ This is not a good app for finding out what’s going on in MuncieI get most of my news about Muncie from a Facebook Muncie community group. If there is an accident or shooting you rarely see it in the Muncie Star Press. You have to search Facebook or other outside news sources..Version: 6.10.0
✓ Gannet....sighI loved the Muncie Star/Press back when it was locally managed and distributed. Since Gannett took over, the editing is pretty embarrassing and research does not always seem as complete or unslanted as it used to. Otherwise, it's an ok place to get local news and the app delivers breaking news pretty quickly..Version: 4.12.2

✓ The Star PressThe Star Press does a great job keeping the community informed. They are in need of another societal contributor lie the used to have in Larry Reilly but other than that they do a decent job reporting on our city government and local people who make an impact in our community. Larry brought to light facts from public meetings that the general public can’t attend because they are scheduled during the average community members work day hours. Many people I know miss his column and insight because he represented the people from the town and the people with the gowns. Chris Flook does a great job presenting the public with historical facts about our region and if it were up to me he would file more columns so that local people can learn more about and take more pride in our community. His insight is amazing and I look forward to reading every column that he contributes because I love Muncie and I love learning more about our history and the makings of our community. I have mentioned a couple people by name that I enjoy but there are countless others that make a huge impact. There are tons of people who miss the Walker Roysdon Report, Greg Fallon, and many other pass contributors. I only rate this app at 3 stars because there are a lot of local stories about our schools, county township activities, and surrounding counties as well that go u told and positives that do not get as much promotion as they should. We now live in the “24 hour news cycle” that drives clocks and advertising dollars. I would be willing to add two more stars to this rating if there was more reporting on all of the great things happening in Muncie and ECI as opposed to nathipnal click bait headlines that drive down the moral of our local residents. Nonetheless. here’s to you The Star Pess!!!! Thank you for everything you do!!.Version: 5.25.1

The last version was very easy to use more like the print edition this one chooses to lead you no where to read little or nothing of use.
