✓ Needs improvementI have a number of chess apps on my iPad and this is the best looking. Playing with 3D pieces looks amazing on the retina screen. The main problem is the level design; I played my first game on the highest level 'advanced' and the CPU took a pawn, allowing me to move my knight into a royal fork and easily win the game. Another big feature missing that rivals have is an opening book, which is a fantastic learning tool. There are also no built in games (e.g. T Chess Pro has all of Bobby Fischers and the option to import more). I hope the designers of this app look at Shredder; in particular the way the CPU automatically adjusts strength after each game based on the way you've played..Version: V1.01

✓ Not such a good app any more. Shame.So I used to moan about the begging for reviews, when the app worked. Now it doesn't work. The rating score is not visible and appears as dashes. The take chess pieces are no longer symbols but letters. After about 5 minutes of use, the screen flashes rendering the app unusable. Shame. It didn't need improving. Now it needs repairing. And the annoying begging messages still pop up..Version: 2017.3

✓ Room for growthCurrently, I used Chess King, a program that I like very much. After looking at yours I think it has promise, I hope you guys evolve your your software to be as robust as Chess Kings’, I like your interface better, but they have richer features for learning! ✓ Do Not Buy This GameThis game misled me into purchasing it by showing a full screen picture on a computer monitor. This game does not allow me to set it up for a full screen picture. I only have a small picture and cannot use it due to its small size on my 14 inch Macbook Pro. Stay away from this chess game. I would give this a zero rating and consider the picture as false advertising. Please fix this problem and I will give you a 5 star rating..Version: 4.21

✓ BetterThis is a great game of Chess. I'm only a average player but this has all the options and customising you could want. Originally I couldn't tell the difference between the 69p version and the retina because I was focussing more on the icons rather than the pieces. Like the description says, the board and the pieces have been re drawn, not the icons which are still a little pixelated. However, the boards and pieces are all truly beautiful and the selection of board types, colours and pieces are all really stunning. The retina does make a large difference when you look at the castles turrets and the knights heads, but also just the round heads of the pawns are noticeably smoother. This would be 5* if it was £2.99, 4* if it was £3.99 but £4.99 seems a little steep, and if you already have the 69p version it's only for the super retina fan boy on whether the £5 upgrade is justifiable. However, it's still a great game of chess, withe great options and challenge with beautiful pleasing visuals..Version: V1.05
✓ App reviewOn iPhone 6 the font is too small and you can't read the rank so I don't actually know why it's there. When you click on rank it says data unavailable. Needs a review button so you can review the game with training tips. Other than that it works ok and hardly crashes. 5 out of 10..Version: 2017.6

✓ 3D featuresI purchased this with expecting the 3D capabilities to be at least what the pictures show. They do not represent the same features. There are no instructions for set up. ✓ Cute, fun to play, not for serious use.Highly customizable for pieces and board appearances. No variations, no annotations and no comments. Engine lines are prepended by useless [+][*] that comes directly from another chess app !? It does have potential. It looks unfinished ... ie: the history view has options to show/hide variations and comments yet, there are no such features ....Version: 2018.05
✓ Needs a refresh, more 2 player featuresGreat app, but it needs a cleaner look. Also need more features for two players ie notifications when it's your turn with online players, timers ect.
