Yoga Studio: Classes and Poses for Positive User Reviews

Still the best Vinyasa AppA couple of years ago, I wrote a long review to praise Yoga Studio (see further below for original post). And it continues to be my favourite workout app. They have added a collection for runners, which I use religiously after every run; and a collection called Quick Fix, that has helped me include some stretches even when I oversleep in the mornings. It syncs the workout data with Apple's Health app and -for those brand driven- it is now own by Gaiam. Fantastic. Still the best app ever. Wish they would develop the Apple Watch app though. **original review** I've been looking for Vinyasa classes in my city with no luck. After reading a magazine article I decided to try websites and apps for iPad. I downloaded five of them and Yoga Studio is the best one ever! Pros: * different durations to fit with your busy schedule * different levels to suit your expertise * syncs with your iPad calendar - so you can set a reminder and/ or track your activity! * my classes functionality - if you don't like the Studio classes, you can build your own * you can change the background music to your own playlist! * if the class is going too fast and there is a pose you don't really get, you can review each pose, with easy to follow instructions * if you live in North America, you earn rewards! Cons: I don't live in North America so I don't earn rewards! It's definitely worth the money - I don't regret it! :).Version: 4.3.3

Grandfathered subscribers lose access with latest updateEdit: version 4.0.4 seems to have fixed my inability to restore my existing purchase. ——————————— I purchased this app prior to version 3.5 (when the subscription model was introduced). Since then I was able to access the app with no problem (I assumed I was grandfathered in to a free subscription since I had already purchased the app). The most recent update has cause me to lose all access to Yoga Studio unless I pay for a subscription. The pricing seems reasonable for the content that I’d be getting, but I will not be subscribing on the basis that I believe it is wrong to try to transition app purchasers into app subscribers. Imagine buying a movie, putting it on the shelf for a year, then when you go to watch it you’re prevented from doing so until you pay for the movie studios subscription program. It’s a dishonest business move and really unfortunate because I really got a lot out of this app and I’ve recommended this app to friends many times. Not anymore..Version: 4.0.5

Lots of OptionsIt’s not too expensive for what you get if you stick with it honestly! I’ve spent way more on classes and this is pretty solid and I felt like I was in a proper class without the atmosphere essentially lol.Version: 4.4.16

I can’t restore my purchase. Can’t even open on iPad Or iPhone. With the last major update they made everyone pay for a subscription. The outcry made them restore the original content for previous owners. Now they did it again with 4.0. I can not restore my original content. Or even run the app on my iPad Pro 10.5 or iPhone X. Update: version 4.0.4 fixed it. Had to reinstall apps on iPhone iPad and Apple TV. Working well now. Thank you.Version: 4.0.6

Great app for getting into yoga at homeThis is the only fitness app I regularly come back to again and again. I like the studio practices where I can pick something appropriate to the time and needs I have at any time of day..Version: 4.3.50

Love it!One of the best apps I have. I can’t always get to yoga classes & this is a great substitute. It contains a lot of poses I have learnt in class & comes with great instructions & guidance to ensure you are holding the poses correctly & not hurting yourself. I love that you can choose the length of workout you would like depending on time available. There should be no excuses for not practising yoga everyday now that I have YS..Version: 3.9.0

A really great yoga app! This yoga app has encouraged me to practice yoga daily. The voice over is really pleasant to listen to and easy to follow, please don’t change it! I enjoy the daily classes and being able to see what I’ve done on the built in calendar as well..Version: 3.9.2

Meilleure app de YogaAprès en avoir essayé plusieurs, je reviens toujours à Yoga Studio. Les entraînements sont variés et stimulants..Version: 4.4.10

Don’t update! It makes you sign up and is unclear if you will get charged twice. Very intrusive too wanting to select info about you.Version: 4.2.8

Keep my yoga practice up anywhereWe move a lot and often live in remote locations. We have 2 small kids, and life is hectic. This app lets me do yoga whenever I can carve out some time for me. I love having different intensities, the ability to do classes that have specific focus (I often use the back pain ones, and enjoyed the prenatal classes when pregnant), and being able to pick lengths so I can do yoga even when I only have 15 min to spare. My husband and I do the meditations together as we both benefit from the grounding. Overall I’m nearly 4 in years in and still impressed with this app..Version: 4.4.13

Subscription disappointmentI loved this app, would dip into it as it was convenient and well designed, however I'm really disappointed that it has become subscription only. On a tight budget it's not something I can justify spending money on, especially after having been using it already and it working for me for a free download. What a shame Just updated the app and will now not let me restore, only option is to begin a subscription which I will not do. It’s a shame that the people who have made and developed this app have just become greedy.Version: 4.0

Nice routines, a bit lacking in varietyI purchased this app back in the day when you could buy it outright. It’s been great, and even though I can’t access new content, I really like the basic routines. Having said that, there is a bit too much repetition of the same moves across supposedly different routines. The music is soothing and the voiceover is calming. I always feel relaxed afterwards Would I pay the subscription now? Probably not. I think it is too expensive for a grouping of prerecorded routines, especially when compared with other subscriptions on offer..Version: 4.1.3

Great app for everyoneThis app is superb! I am new to yoga and have found this app to be perfect for learning the poses since each one is shown clearly in video format rather than just instructions or pictures. The best feature is the ability to compose your own sessions to suit your abilities which then plays in real time, including video visuals. The sessions provided are also great. It is good to have poses for all ability levels from beginner to advanced so you can tailor make any session to suit your current requirements. Best yoga app I have come across. I love it and use it every day..Version: 3.1.3

Best yoga appFor the cost of a yearly subscription I can do a comprehensive yoga class as many times I like, whenever I like for as long as I like which would have cost me hundreds of dollars at my local yoga school. These are excellent classes, clearly explained and shown. It helps if you are already familiar with yoga but I like that you have plenty of classes to choose from so you can go at your own pace. I love that I can do a 20 minute class or grab a 10 minute class in between doing things, or do a relaxation at the end of a busy day. The choices are excellent. I highly recommend this app, it’s worth every penny..Version: 4.3.3

Enjoyed but getting bored with interfaceI’ve had this app for some time and am now paying the subscription fee. It needs updating though to appeal more to those of us who enjoy yoga but are not going to use most of the experience yoga routines. Or the ones that are person based. Perhaps if I wasn’t a mum with a full time job also doing other exercise I would feel differently. But then I would probably go to a class! I’m starting to shop around..Version: 4.3.10

I love this appI was wanting to do yoga but the classes were too expensive for me. I found this app about 3 years ago and loved it straight away. I practised yoga every morning and felt great starting my day. I was asked to pay a subscription and did because I never wanted to stop. I still love it and love all the new classes that have been added. A very cheap alternative to attending classes multiple times throughout the week. LOVE LOVE LOVE IT..Version: 4.3

Best yoga app I've triedI used to love yoga studio and I still do but a couple of the changes since we had to pay for it annually instead of just buying the app are not so good. Now you have to login every single time for some reason mine doesn't seem to remember my email address or password which is a little frustrating. In addition you think that now after buying the app and having to pay annually they word design a lot more classes as it's been the same for years and it would nice to have additional classes on top of what they have now. It is still nice to be able to tailor your own session..Version: 3.6.1

My Favourite AppI was recommended this by a Physio. But all I can say is wow!!! Seriously as a male who had no idea about yoga this has now become my everyday routine. 15-30mins each day and in 7days I have seen amazing results. At first I thought it was a little expensive. But now I realise it's actually too cheap. This is really recommended to all..Version: 3.3.1

Long term fan BUT...I love this app and have used it for a good few years now. It is wonderful and allows you to completely adapt and personalise your own classes to your ability and aims which is great. Unfortunately I can't give this's 5* review for one big reason. I use Yoga Studio on my iPad for the larger screen and ease of viewing poses. But all my fitness and running apps are connected to my health app on my iPhone. Yoga Studio does not yet allow for syncing across devices which is SO BACKWARDS considering how great this app has been for such a long time. Classes and scheduled workouts are only recorded on the device you play them on which is such a pain and means syncing with Apple Health or similar apps used only on other devices does not happen. A next update MUST for us yogis please!.Version: 3.7.0

Best Yoga AppI’m a busy Mum of 4 and find it difficult to fit yoga workouts into my daily or weekly routine, however this app is brilliant as not only are the classes great, they also range from 1 hour long right down to 5mins. I also run, and use the 10min class (which is aimed at runners) as my stretch before or after my run. I have been using this app for many years but previously tried a great many yoga apps so in an attempt to find something I could use at home rather than going to a class, and nothing came close to this. It is the best one out there. I love it..Version: 4.1.7

Update a rip-off *EDITED*If you are like me and bought it a while ago, you might be unable to reach new content. DON’T PANIC. Make sure the app is completely up to date. Then go into a combination. When the add pops up asking for a subscription, click ‘restore’ in the top right corner. Then you can once again use all of these wonderful classes. Original message: I paid for this app a few years ago, and love its classes and combinations, but with one of the more recent updates I now have to pay AGAIN for a subscription based service. I only have access to some of the combinations which I had already downloaded, while those that I was saving until my skill level improved are now inaccessible. Quite upsetting..Version: 4.2.2

Enjoyable classesUpdate: After a few weeks they were able to fix the bug and restore my access. I liked the old layout better but I know you can’t please everyone and that they are listening to other feedback, hence the changes. The original classes are worth five stars but after being blocked out of the app by a ‘bug’ for two months in a year, I will reserve the fifth star in the hope to see some improvement in future updates. It would please me to add that fifth star back in after some time of consistency. Original review. The latest update has again brought me to the subscription page and the restore button does not work. I tried to do a workout yesterday and again today but am unable. I am a legacy user and you have assured us not to be weary of future updates. Please fix this bug as soon as you can. Thank you for your time..Version: 4.0.4

The perfect yoga appI've been using Yoga Studio for a number of years and have found they have a good range of classes, from post-run stretches; combination classes; to winding down at night. I was originally annoyed when they changed to a subscription service, since I had already paid for this app, but having looked around at what else was on the market, Yoga Studio is well worth the money. Luckily for me, they soon rectified the app for original purchasers but even if they hadn't, I would have paid for the subscription..Version: 3.7.0

So easy to use EVERY day - no matter what your schedule is.Great selection of classes for all levels of ability and different mind/body needs. Love to do the morning yoga in bed and finish my day with a class that ranges from 10mins to an hour - depending on my schedule. Simple, effective, easy to understand and a great app to compliment any 'real life' yoga classes. I'm traveling at present and this app has been a great companion for the weeks I have been unable to attend yoga classes in person. Brilliant..Version: 3.1.1

Love itI have used and loved Yoga Studio for years. Twice now it has locked me out and wanted me to pay a subscription. While it is worth the money, it just burns me to have to pay for something I’ve used for free (and frankly, there are other free yoga apps out there, although not as good). But both times, eventually YS let original users restore after some time and continue using it for free. The locking me out is the ONLY complaint I have. The app itself is fantastic, a true life-saver. So many different collections and routines, for just about any situation or length of time. Awesome for when you’re traveling and can’t get to your yoga class or for when you’ve had a long day and drop to your living room floor or back yard to release stress. Great for beginners and experienced yoga practitioners. If you aren’t an original member, I urge you to pay the monthly fee to try it out. I think you’ll find it worth it. But thank you to YS for allowing original users to be grandfathered in when you started charging..Version: 4.0.5

Dream come trueThis app is fabulous!! I do yoga on a regular basis and when I can't make a class, bam here we go! It's just as good as a proper class if not better. It's cheap easy to manoeuvre and takes minutes to do :) I love the Calendar feature too its the sort of thing that motivates you to do yoga even if you don't really feel in the mood. Definitely worth it's 5 stars.Version: 2.1.2

Big fan and userBeen a user of this app for many years. It’s great value..Version: 4.3.39

Perfect for beginners and not pretentious!I’ve been wanting to get into yoga for years, and can’t seem to get to live yoga classes in the area, let alone pay a ridiculous amount of money for them. This app is perfect if you want guided, helpful yoga classes from wherever you are. I am so inflexible, and haven’t yet (until now) found yoga that suited me. Not pretentious, or trying to be ‘trendy’, like many others. I’ve learnt a lot of poses already and feel confident in yoga!! My only suggestion would be more classes, different time lengths and styles :).Version: 4.1.2

It’s simply great....I am a complete novice with yoga, and since downloading this app, according to my family apparently I’ve become a yoga bore 🤭! I have used this everyday since getting it, taking my time to read through the instructions for each move then watching the video before taking part. I can’t fault the content - there are plenty of moves for me to make my way through and plenty of instruction before and during the programmes. The preloaded programmes have been sufficient for me so far, but it’s great to know that I can put together my own session (which I have)! My only query with the developers is about these sessions - is there any chance you can include the vocal guidance that is part of the preloaded programmes instead of just announcing each yoga move? As a beginner it’s great to have that voice prompting you to relax your shoulders etc! All in all, I am more than happy to pay the yearly subscription for this yoga app. 👌🏻.Version: 3.9.0

My favorite yoga appThis app just gets better with each update. It features a range of classes to suit all levels and now includes meditations, pranayama and specialty classes. Teachers are easy to follow and have pleasant tones of voice. I don’t usually bother to leave reviews but this is the app I most recommend to others. Both to those starting their yoga journey or for seasoned yogis who can’t access a group class in their area..Version: 4.3.6

Yoga when it’s suits youThis is an excellent app for any one who wants to practice yoga. You have an abundance of classes, levels ,styles and length of class. It’s brilliant for home or travel Fantastic product. PS I’ve a practicing yoga for 25 years and have been to many classes and styles..Version: 4.4.14

Just right for home yogaClear instructions and good range of lessons. Highly recommend this.Version: 4.3

Great appI’ve had this app for years it’s the longest running app on my I pad it’s brilliant the new additions are great. I would like to see more of the standard classes in the old style especially as it’s a pay subscription app. My only gripe is I paid for this app in full when it came out. I understand it needs to be improved hence the subscription but it is a gripe. If anybody whom purchased the app had the cost refunded it may be less of a gripe. I previously rated 1 star because of this. Having said that the apps brilliant and its single handedly done more to cure tendonitis in archillis and my knees more than any physio has done and the physio is prices hence I’m raising my rating. Shame about the cost plan but at lease it’s being improved again please add more normal classes in the old style More added love the app keeps me flexible works in well with cycling would be great to see cycling specific classes to help flexibility and even strengthen areas cyclists tend to suffer from great app.Version: 4.4

Quite simply the bestI'm new to yoga and thought I would give this a try, not expecting it to bring me the flexibility and strength I've been looking for, for years! I do quite a lot of cycling, running, swimming and walking and this has taken my mind and fitness to new levels. I feel great for the rest of the day when doing a class on a morning and sleep really well after a 30minute class on a night. It's just perfect. Very clear instructions, calming narration and very well illustrated. I would recommend this to anyone of any ability..Version: 3.8.0

Definitely recommend this app! This is such a great app. Lots of choice in terms of time and focus area (eg strength, flexibility) & ability level. Very good video instructions. I especially recommend it to practice in between yoga classes or for people who have a little foundation and can monitor themselves to some degree. But I’m sure absolute novices would also benefit it just helps to have some human guidance along the way. I use this for a quick session in the morning and it makes such a positive impact! Thank you to the makers :] But I’m wondering what happened to the warrior one’s in the beginners 1 cycle since the update..Version: 4.0.6

Consistently good fitness and wellness tool!I’ve used this app here and there for several years. When I started, it was free! But when I came back to the app after a short break, they had started charging for it. While I wished I could have been grandfathered in, I paid for the app because it’s totally worth it. The instructors and instructions are great. Just enough to get your form right, not too much to feel too out there or hippie dippy. There are tons and tons of options for classes, difficulty levels, focus areas, and amounts of time. The options have increased tremendously over the years. This app is a great way to get in some restorative fitness at home or in your hotel room with whatever time you have. The time always flies by, no matter how long of a class you choose and you always feel refreshed and amazing when you’re done!.Version: 4.2.3

By far the best yoga appI have been using this app for about 3 years now. Good when travelling, or when I just can't get to a class! Very easy to follow classes, a good range of different levels of ability to choose from. Can use offline as you download each class once. Great app!.Version: 3.1.3

Great appI’ve subscribed for many years and I love this app and how the practices continue to evolve and challenge me. The three levels of practice would be enough for the yearly fee but the addition of new practices is inspiring and challenging and in some cases eye-opening.Version: 4.4.16

Great yoga workoutsThis app has amazingly easy to follow yoga workouts; relaxing, challenging, uplifting. Don't think you have to be skinny to do it either.. unfit/overweight? You can do this too! Every session gets a little easier, you'll be a pro before you know it :).Version: 3.7.0

Most practical yoga appI’ve used it for a couple of years now, before and after concussion. It’s been fabulous in helping me to healthy life and body. The focus series keeps getting better and better! This helps you with it all and now I’m able to gently restore flexibility and balance. Would love to see classes for aging and menopause changes..Version: 4.4.22

Decent free featuresI’ve had this app for a few years and never actually used it until September 2021. I have used it daily since and really like it. It has helped with my chronic back pain and I find that I sleep much better as well. The free features are pretty good, allowing you to explore some classes and learn about various poses. The best aspect of this app is that I was able to peruse some classes and then create my own, personalized class using the asanas that I enjoy and work for my body. It is best to have had some experience in practicing yoga with an in-person instructor before using the app, so that you do the poses correctly and don’t injure yourself. For a free yoga app, I highly recommend..Version: 4.4.4

Yoga and meditation for my every occasion!I have been using this app for years now and.Version: 4.4.20

BeginnerI was new to yoga when I bought this app. It has helped me establish a daily yoga practice. The instructions are clear and the pace steady so I achieve the poses in a quiet meditative way. It's now 15th April. I've just tried to use the app this morning and I can't get in without paying a subscription. I notice someone else had this problem and the developer's answer was to hit the restore button to access the material that was there before the update. I've tried this but it's not working. I'm very disappointed as I've been using this app daily. I can't find a way of contacting anyone to get it sorted. I'm not happy this morning.Version: 4.0

AngelaThe best out there- for years!.Version: 4.4.20

Incredible content on a horrible platformIf I were rating this app on the content alone, I would give it 10 stars if I could. This app’s classes and features include EVERYTHING that I am looking for in a yoga software. Than comes the absolutely abysmal platform and customer service. Subscription gives access to the promised features only sporadically, which, when one is trying to use a workout app on a routine basis during a very limited free time is unacceptable. The app does not allow to either create an account (even after following “Create Account” link), or reset purchases, or even exit the pop-up window without shutting down iPad, which indicates poorly executed backend. Contacting Support doesn’t help either as the only response I have received after waiting for a few days was that I might be using an older version of the app (which was not the case) followed by silence. Overall I find it incredibly sad when a developer creates an outstanding application, but fails to follow through on the promises it have made to its customers..Version: 4.2.2

To the point applicationI suppose it all depends on what you’re looking for but if the point is to spend some time working through routines, learning poses, and/or creating your own routines without distraction than this app is perfect for all that. If you’re looking for an overly commercialized, and modernized approach toward yoga try any of the others. They’ll be sure to inundate you with commercials and additional charges without end and dilute it to nothing more than another workout routine unless of course you try Asana Rebel, in which case you’ll spend a lot for a great app that honestly isn’t any better than this one in my opinion. I’m happy with this app. Gaiam, if you’re reading this, don’t mess this up by trying to keep up with the Jones’. It’s not been missed by some of us the potential to tank this app into the commercial abyss that the others quickly sink in when they get greedy. Please stay true to you’re roots and don’t forget what it’s all about!.Version: 4.0.6

Such a great yoga app —one of the best!I was one of the lucky ones who got to purchase this app when it was in development. So I don’t have to pay for a month to month or yearly subscription to get really lovely yoga workouts from beginning to advanced levels. It would be a 5 star rate if subscription prices weren’t so high. Would I pay for the subscription if I had to? That’s a good question. No, I believe the subscription price is way too high! But it is an excellent app. Perhaps the developers will consider getting more subscribers at a smaller fee. The other features added since I purchased are very appealing!.Version: 4.3.46

Paid legacy users now required to pay more.Review edited: they’ve fixed the functionality to allow previous purchases to be restored. Love this app and will continue to recommend! Original: I paid a one time fee for this app several years ago. Once the app moved to a subscription model, legacy users weren’t grandfathered in and are now being asked to pay about 5x more than the flat fee for just a year of service. The subscription should’ve been forced on new users—not the long time users who helped promote and build up your following. Or perhaps increase your revenues through ads. But this decision was in poor taste and I don’t seem to be the only one who is dissatisfied. Also the restore feature that the developer has claimed in other responses as a fix is NOT working. I keep getting an error that it failed. Moving on to other apps..Version: 4.1.2

RobberyEDIT: See my review below which I initially gave one star. They responded! I love this app and find it to be the best yoga app I’ve used. I’m so glad thankful they’ve honored previous subscribers’ memberships. I had started using another app which I didn’t like as much. This one is great due to the interface being so simple and logical. You can find classes easily that fit your needs and the moves are varied within each routine. The other one I used had a lot of reputation and the explanations were t clear so I had to pause a lot. I also like the voice abs music options. Thanks!! SUGGESTION: it would be nice to have different duration options for each of the classes. For example, one of my go to options is beginner balance and there is only a 30 minute option. I have to choose other routines if I want 60 minutes. It would be nice to have 15, 30, 60 minutes for each routine. Honestly, I preferred the look of the previous app. Much more intuitive to have the categories all visible on each page and then have trees under each. I already paid $5 for this app and now you’re charging me for a subscription?? Unethical. I love this app but guess what - you lost my business..Version: 4.0.5

Great App!This is a great App! It allows me to practice yoga wherever and whenever I want. With the timed classes I can choose something that fits in with the time available and just devote that parcel of time to my practice. It even goes on holiday with me so that I still get to practice. When I'm at home, I turn off the sound and put one of my favourite CDs on to provide the background sound. Whether a beginner or an accomplished yogi, this is for you..Version: 3.3.1

Good stretching app for athletesI am not into the holistic or spiritual side of yoga, I practice purely because I train regularly, run 50 miles a week and need some form of regular stretching. For this purpose the app is brilliant, varied, digestible and its convenient to do a short session after every run or longer sessions on “rest days”. To improve the app I would like a male instructor who is realistic to “normal men” doing poses that are actually possible. I’ve done these sessions with lots of mates I train with and not one can do a “fire log” but at least we fall about laughing as we try. The instructors on the app are great at yoga but completely out of range to normal people which can dent confidence and cause frustration. I have used the app daily for two months now and will continue to do so as it’s great for what I use it for. It’s also much better than ROMWOD for a daily stretching routine as every session trains all muscle groups as opposed to romwads ideology of spending ten minutes in pigeon and then calling it a day. I can’t comment on whether it’s a good yoga app but for a complete and varied daily stretching aide for keen athletes it ticks all the boxes and is a bargain for the monthly price..Version: 3.8.0

Why did I wait so long?I got this app almost a year ago, and only just started using it with myself and my 9 & 12 year olds. We have used it three mornings now, and love it. We have started with the very beginners balance and enjoy the clear instructions, the pacing, and the noticeable improvement in our day following Yoga in a very short time. Why did I wait so long after getting this app to actually start using it? Oh well, we are now, and love it!.Version: 3.3.1

Back up and running...Update; finally had an update that’s allowed me to get back on to this app, the updates look amazing and can’t wait to get back into it again. The communication has been great via them direct and I’m glad its all been sorted. Back up to a 5star rating from me! Had this app for 4 years, back when it was free, even when I’ve re-downloaded it in the past for whatever reason ive been able to restore my free membership, but since the last update i am now locked out. I have messaged support and im still waiting for a reply. What’s really annoying is that my customised lessons will be lost. Fed up with not being able to follow my daily classes. Apart from this annoyance the app is very good - just expect to pay for the usage..Version: 4.0.4

Yoga Studio is incredible!!!This is the only app where I can find yoga classes to suit my speed, which is really slow. I have issues with lower back pain and hip pain due to several bulging disks in my spine. Lately the pain has been pretty bad and the only thing that relieves the pain and tightness is the class for lower back pain. I do the morning stretches each morning, then inwalk for 30 minutes, then I do another yoga class in the yoga for back pain group to stretch out after I’ve walked, and I am free from back pain and a lot of stiffness for most of the day. I am looking forward to adding more Beginner Essentials to my routine soon. There are plenty of classes on Yoga Studio for anyone and everyone, the selection is so vast I’ll be doing yoga with this app for the rest of my life! Quite worth the monthly fee which hasn’t increased in years. I love Yoga Studio! It’s the best yoga app and has the best classes I have ever found. Thank you for creating it!!.Version: 4.4.16

Excellent - very comprehensive and you can tailor classesI love the way you can mix and match poses and it'd be great to be able to design your own blocks. The mix of customisable and set classes are fantastic. I am also astonished at the greed and ignorance displayed by some recent users (who are supposed to be yoga practitioners!). This is a very comprehensive app for its kind. Do you know how much it costs to even set up an app and how many, many hours and more money that it takes to program and maintain it? This is why some developers are moving to subscription - it is just costing them too much. The developers have been very generous. There are other lesser apps than this that cost more..Version: 3.7.0

Once an excellent app...I paid for this app a year or two ago and use it weekly. I love the classes and the delivery. This app made yoga part of my daily routine. I tried to open the app yesterday and was blocked out of my account by a subscription request. I tried the ‘restore’ option as advised to another reviewer and that didn’t work. How disappointing to receive no notifications that this would happen and how angered I am to be asked to pay more, for a service I already paid for! I have contacted the developer about this and have not received any response. This is not good customer in my book..Version: 4.0

Happy once againNovember 2022 I’m still using the original classes prior to 2017 and still loving it. January 8th 2018 I cannot stop loving this app, I've had it for many many years and always encourage others to buy it. I will forever use it as it is a vital part of my daily life. XOXO August 24/17 Message to GIAM: We old original users are the ones that made this app popular! We shared it with our friends and families and they bought and downloaded it. I'll give you 4 stars because I haven't forgiven you for trying to make me subscribe to something I bought years ago. With that said I fell in love with this app many years ago and continue to use it daily. I'm a grandfathered user and once I chose the restore option in the app, it brought me back to the interface and classes I had previously download before they offered subscriptions. I'm still happy with the app but extremely unhappy with how many of us old users were tossed aside. June 21/2017 Unethical! I paid for this app originally and now with this new update I can't access my classes because they want me to pay again to subscribe. For all of us that paid our access should be grandfathered into this new update. You went from 5 stars to 1..Version: 4.4.16

UnethicalIt’s wrong to ask existing user base who paid and supported the app when it was less popular to now be unable to use the app unless they subscribe. If you change your revenue model to subscription rather than a one time transaction fee that is fine, however please don’t disregard the fellow community who has paid for the app previously. *edit* I just want to edit this review and say thanks for listening to user feedback and changing it so that previous users who bought the app can now have access to their previous videos. Appreciated..Version: 4.0.5

Great app to get into yogaThis app is a great way to get into yoga for compete beginners (like me). It is easy to pick a session to match the time you have available, your skill level and the type of session you want to do. The sessions for runners are highly recommended - the worked wonders at stretching out my tight hamstrings..Version: 3.0

Génial pour personnaliser ses flows de yogaJ’utilise cet application version gratuite depuis plusieurs années, et je la trouve géniale notamment pour créer et enregistrer mes propres routines (flow) de yoga et pouvoir y accéder facilement partout! Merci!.Version: 4.4.14

Yoga StudioI’ve never done yoga before, I’ve alwaysss done martial arts throughout my entire life! I had a spinal fusion when I was 13 and recently discovered I have heart problems so I’ve had to give up martial arts. I figured I’d give this a go, it’s $2.99 a month as opposed to $6.99 a week from other apps. It’s still cheaper than attending classes and it’s so unbelievably relaxing! I’m feeling good, my body is looking good and I’ve even started to crave water! I feel more in touch with myself over these last couple weeks than what I have in my entire life! I love yoga and I absolutely LOVE this app.!.Version: 4.0.2

Love it!Just recently started to do some yoga and wanted an easy at home thing. Started with the GAIAM starter kit and wanted more of an option than the cd it came with. I remembered reading about the app while researching prior to my purchase, downloaded it and haven't looked back. Extremely happy with the different lengths of classes and also the options of different types of classes with the chance to move up in difficulties when I'm ready. I only purchased a short subscription but at this rate I will definitely be considering a much longer subscription next. :).Version: 3.7.0

Yoga studioA great app!!!.Version: 4.4.1

Love this but sometimes too fastI love the classes and have really found them helpful for my general fitness, balance and low back arthritis. My only complaint is that sometimes the poses move too fast from head-up to head-down. I have inner ear damage and a history of vertigo so those movements make me very dizzy. I have to slow down or skip those sequences altogether. Could you develop classes for people with vertigo?.Version: 4.4.14

Worth every pennyI had some trouble before (2 years ago) with being asked to pay twice for this app but now that seems to be resolved, so there’s nothing about this app to not like. The classes and various skill levels are FANTASTIC. Worth every penny..Version: 4.4.18

Thank you!I have had this app for many years. I purchased it back when it was purchase only with no subscription. I used it off and on then let it fall by the wayside. Until I was diagnosed with breast cancer. After my final reconstructive surgery, I felt driven to not only return to my previous level of health, but to push myself farther and stronger. I returned to Yoga Studio to find it had changed. I was very glad to be able to restore my purchase and retrieve the original free classes. (Like many others, I don’t want a subscription service). I worked my way through the beginner classes and moved on to intermediate. I quickly realized that I needed to add in some weight training to strengthen my core and muscles for the more challenging poses. I am now using yoga and weight training to feel stronger, more balanced and more at peace with myself than ever before. Thank you, Jules, for gently guiding me through the classes. If I had any suggestions, it would be to please add a few more free classes for the “old school” yogis..Version: 4.4

Perfect for me.Fantastic app for those who are busy and prefer to workout at home. I love how it provides variety of levels, time and types of classes to suit your schedule. I’ve used it for 2 years now, since pre, during and post pregnancy! With my 8 weeks old son, I’m appreciating this app even more as I get to practice anytime, anywhere. Totally recommend this to others, as I have been!.Version: 3.9.0

Great relaxing yoga workoutsI was a complete yoga beginner when I started. Over the last 18 months I have great my improved my strength & flexibility. I have fibromyalgia and this has made a life changing difference to me. I’m still at beginner level so have lots more to explore..Version: 4.4.20

Favourite app of all time!I am lucky that I purchased this app many years ago for a one off fee so I don’t have to pay the ongoing subscription fee. Apart from being limited to using this on my small phone screen (it would be nice to watch it through a larger TV screen), I am really satisfied. I have produced many of my own pose combinations from the options and added them to my phone calendar on repeat. There is quite a range of poses at different ability levels and for different goals: flexibility, relaxation, strength etc. The instruction is clear and I like the choice of background music. This remains the best app I have ever purchased and I look forward to using it for many years to come. Thank you Gaiam..Version: 4.4.4

Nice App but room for improvementI‘m using Yoga Studio with one of the subscriptions for quite a while now. From the subscriptions it is not clear what the differently priced subscriptions really offer. In my (beginners) view the best content is the initially free content. Here each pose is explained and you can see what poses are in a class. From the new content I like in particular the immunity series. However, the final rest phase is usually too short. Now to the improvements: 1.) It would be good if one could set the time for the rest in a class. The Video could be paused for the excess time with the music going on. 2.) It would be great if the pictures for the individual poses would be 360° or at least show the pose from all 4 sides. 3.) A preview of the poses in the subscription classes with explanations should be added as in the initial classes. Overall, I like the App and find it better than other Apps I tried..Version: 4.3.21

Great app!!Perfect for yoga at home. Really easy instructions and soothing music. However disappointed they now make you subscribe, I was expecting there would be new classes with different flows for this additional subscription fee, but have not seen anything. Yoga studio you need to add additional features or I won't be resubscribing!.Version: 3.6

Hips lower back and glutesSo relaxing and helpful..Version: 4.4.18

Best yoga app - user friendly for beginners or experienced alike!I’ve tried a number of different yoga apps and this is the OG. My favourite feature is the custom classes with high quality graphics, recommendations for link poses and seamless joining interface. It makes for recreating great face-to-face classes a breeze to change up your practice, particularly if you have exhausted the in-app classes (which I find of varying quality, sorry Gaiam!) I love the in-depth explanation of each pose, with traditional Sanskrit name, and also suggestions on how to progress or advance into certain asanas. Wishlist for this app: 1. additional poses in the yoga pose list 2. adding additional classes for yin & restore styles of yoga 3. adding yoga sequence blocks for meditation to add to custom classes (such as body scan, yoga nidra or alternate nostril breathing)..Version: 4.4.4

Great app for all abilitiesReally enjoy these classes, nice to have some shorter options as well when you don’t have much time. Only think that has never worked is when I try to play my own background music within the app, nothing plays..Version: 4.2

Thank you!Restore function now works correctly and I have proper access to this amazing app again. Thank you for putting up with us impatient folks (that’s why we needed to do yoga in the first place 😂)..Version: 4.0.4

Great app, recommend thoroughly.A fantastic app which has developed over the years I’ve been using it. Really worth it for a wide range of abilities, I use it to supplement my ‘real life’ yoga classes as I travel a lot with work. I have recommended this app to a number of friends and will often use it after a gym session or run. Awesome and worth the purchase. For the creators: My only critique is that the customised yoga classes are clumsy and difficult to put together. For example, you cannot edit them afterwards or rearrange the poses during the creation phase - you have to add the poses in the order you want the in final product, which is laborious and frustrating as it’s not intuitive..Version: 4.3.7

Able to practice everydayI love being able to do a yoga class a day without leaving my home or paying hundreds of dollars a month. The classes are challenging, restorative and deeply relaxing and fulfilling at the end. I'm in my third week and currently my 8th day straight and have already seen a change in my body - physically and my mindset. My strength, flexibility and rotation in my chest, shoulders and hips has already improved. Cannot rate this app enough stars!.Version: 3.7.0

Great AppNamaste.Version: 4.3.8

Yoga reviewI have been using this app for about two years now. I really love it. Despite regular use I find there is enough variety in the classes to keep me interested. My favourite classes are with the woman in the blue outfit; her voice is very calming and her pace is great. I would like to have names for the instructors. I also really like that I can see the serious of moves in her classes, before I start the class. You can’t do this in any of the newer classes, which means I am less likely to try them. I also like the class specific themes like: yoga for runners or back pain. I hope they develop more like this. They do seem to regularly add to the app. Overall, highly recommend. I would also love to see a yoga for perimenopause or menopause..Version: 4.4.16

Good but repetitiveI’ve had this app for a few months now and it has been amazing for getting me into the habit of practicing regularly, however I have done all of the beginner classes and would like to change up my routine but there is only one class for each type (eg. Flexibility, strength, combination etc) it would be great if more classes were added as it’s not good to do the same routines over and over again. I have tried using custom classes however there is little guidance on how to create an effective class and during the class there are no instructions for how to safely move into/out of poses, breathing, or modifications, instead it just says the name of the poses. Overall definitely recommend for beginners but may look for other options as it’s getting overly repetitive..Version: 4.3.27

Love this appDo yoga every day with this app. My only request is to update the videos to put in a few different poses..Version: 4.4.22

Been using it for years and still love itI simply love this app. It’s helped me improve my practice so much and it’s so convenient to use, perfect for a long one hour session or a for a quick yoga fix. The video quality is top end, the voice tracks are really useful (and can be switched off) and even the music options are spot on (can be switched off too). You can download your favourite sequences so you can use the app offline, and you can even design your own sequences. There are options for duration, focus and now even yoga type..Version: 4.0.6

Awesome appI use this every morning to get my yoga fix at home. Also during rainy days. The poses is explained well and the classes developed at good pace for beginners. Highly recommend. I have again come back to this app although it's through higher subscription now. However it is the best yoga app and all poses explained well and posture sequence well planned. I like the ten minute yoga poses too as they fit in well when short on time. I am using this everyday now..Version: 4.0.3

The best and fare pricingI never give 5 star to any app since it’s mine. But this is by far the best app for yoga. With fare pricing and great instructions. So many classes that you can pick. Suggestions: would be great to categorize classes for buddy parts like shoulder, neck, upper back, calf and etc as you have it for back pain which is great. Nothing releases my back pain but this in the very first session. Also the voice over gives some instructions that video is not following. It might be optional but better to say so. And last thing is that it would better to give some graphical instructions for doing some actions since it’s not clear from the videos considering beginners. It gets confusing following so many close by instructions. Overall thanks and great job. Keep it fare and don’t raise the price ever like other ridicules apps do. Some apps charge more than classes. A+++++++.Version: 3.9.0

Just right for me......I Love Love Love Yoga Studio. Very handy having a programmable yoga teacher in my pocket. Great functionality, runs smoothly...... Since I often live and work in remote communities, there is no access to yoga teachers, this app is great to support my practice! Much gratitude to it’s creators. I would love to see a section added that shares yogic philosophic quotes from masters such as Patanjali, Yogananda, Iyengar, Yogi Bhajan etc., maybe even a feature that you can switch on and off that shares said yogic quotes in a daily notification..... just a thought. Or I could just keep looking at books!.Version: 3.8.0

Great App Needs More LevelsI love this app and all that it offers. I only have two suggestions that would make it better for me to be able to give it 5 stars. One, I feel there is too big of a jump between beginner level classes and intermediate. I do not know about the jump from intermediate to advanced because I am not ready yet but from what it looks like it doesn't look like as big of a jump. There needs to be a more gradual building from one level to the next. Maybe a beginner 2 or advanced beginner before moving on to intermediate. I would like more instruction on how to gradually build to the next harder version of certain poses. The second suggestion I have is to add the option for a different voice instructor. Maybe a male voice and maybe have a visual of a male instructor to go with it. Other than those two suggestions I highly recommend this app for anyone wanting to get started in yoga that cannot go to a class..Version: 3.7.0

Apple TV issuesI love this app and was a loyal user before the change to subscription, I changed to a subscription plan as it saved the upgrade issues and I don’t mind as the content is constantly updating and improving. However I’ve added the app to our Apple TV and it will only allow me to access the basic content? We have a 4th gen Apple TV, I’ve double checked all the user accounts are correct and the restore button does nothing? Which is really annoying as I’ve supported this app for years and am paying for the content so would hope to be able to access new content on all devices. Would appreciate some advice or feedback..Version: 4.3.3

Best for newbiesI started with yoga when I was a young athlete, then life took over. Stopped and reaping the results of bad habits now. After a smal back injury turned into a major reduction in mobility I decided to look for a good yoga starter. Many books, apps and initial classes later I finally discovered this app. This is what makes it exceptional: 1. Poses are shown in a way that makes sense, by a real person going through the dynamics of each 2. The timing is managed by the app 3. Reminders about breathing and pose specifics at just the right time 4. A large selection of poses and combinations that allow you to build a time specific set 5. Sets ideal for beginners are explained well. It allows me to take the initiative and the music and relaxed voice of the presenter makes for a great package at a reasonable price. This is the best option to my mind on the app store at the time of this review. And the interface is clean and beautiful, yet utterly functional. A great app..Version: 3.0

Great yoga appLove this app, it reminds me when I’ve scheduled time for a session, there is variety to pick from, and it is easy follow the instructor. Their narration and music are soft and relaxing. I love waking up to yoga with this app!.Version: 4.4.19

WonderfulFantastic selection of classes and easy to use. My only improvement suggestion is have the Sanskrit names as well as English names for each of the poses..Version: 4.1.2

Love itGreat variety of classes and instructors. Also like how they have some shorter and longer classes..Version: 4.4.18

Been using this app for years - best one I’ve foundGaiam has only just started with the subscription (I think I paid $6 originally and got about four years out of that) - I’m still happy to pay for it. This app is quality. Simple to follow, straightforward and crisp presentation. No extra fluff, just good teaching of poses. Works well with Apple health / activity. Fully customisable. Love this app and will be using it for many years to come!.Version: 4.0.3

Best yoga app I've foundI promise it's worth the money. I've been practising yoga since I was 14 through a variety of self-teaching with books or attending classes. I will admit that this app can't replace attending an actual class with a tutor who can point out where you're going wrong, BUT if you already have a base understanding of how you should move your body through yoga poses this app is fantastic. I've been looking for a good yoga app ever since apps became a thing and this is the best one I've found. I love that the classes are organised into contexts of when you would need yoga - 'yoga for runners', 'yoga for back pain' are just two examples. I also love that you can create your own guided routine based on your own preferences and needs. The background music is a perfect mix of calming, grounding and awakening and the voice of the women guiding you through has ASMR qualities- my boyfriend actually downloaded the app just to listen to her calming voice! It's a great app and well worth the money spent.Version: 3.7.0

Me timeLove this app the variety available is amazing. From relaxation to hip hop yoga, from beginner to expert. Focus on all different parts of body, different stages of your life, and what mood you are in. I occasionally try intermediate but I must say as a 65 year old I’m comfortable in the beginner section also love the instructor’s calming voice. Best value for money yoga app I’ve sampled..Version: 4.3.50

Beautiful & beneficial appThanks for creating this lovely app, this is an app I see the value in paying for as I really enjoyed the 2-week trial. I’m a complete beginner to yoga and wanted to try it out without the expense of a class and inconvenient times. Personally, I feel very relaxed after doing the 15min beginner classes in the morning or afternoon, and while I don’t do it every day, after just a few weeks I’m feeling slightly more flexible which is motivating in itself. This is becoming a lovely way to care for myself in my journey to transforming my life!.Version: 3.8.0

Fantastic appMy favourite app. I love the calm speaking voice and clear instructions, also the variety of classes, time lengths and the option to create your own. I've been using this app for a year now 2 x per week or if I can't get to my live classes. The instructor’s poses are perfect! Even though I've been doing yoga for many years, there are some extremely advanced poses here so I still do all of the beginner classes as well. It’s well designed and clean layout too. I love it and am still using it regularly for 3 years now!.Version: 3.7.0

Love this app but the search function is wonky*** After reading a lot of people’s troubles re:signing in after update: I had that problem a few times but haven’t had that occur in about a year. I honestly don’t know what I did, but I don’t have to sign in every time it does an update now. I’m not a huge fan of subscription based apps but this is one I break the rules for. It’s not as good as an actual class but I can subscribe for three months and pay slightly more than the same price I’d pay for a class in a studio. There is a good variety of classes for all levels. It doesn’t replace the in studio experience entirely but it gives you a flow to follow and that makes it easier than figuring. One out on your own because sometimes you just want to yoga without having to worry about what pose you should Do next. I noticed that there isn’t a restorative focus search when you are looking for classes. They have relaxation. So when doing a search the Rodney Yee restorative class doesn’t show up which is kind of ironic, since his hip opening beginners sequence does show up..Version: 4.3

Fantastic Daily Yoga RoutineYoga Studio has become part of my morning routine. Great classes that haven’t become stale over the last 5+ years of use..Version: 4.4.19

Good for building classesAnother update: After the latest app update (to 4.0), the restore button again doesn’t work. I tapped it; it said it wasn’t working and to try again, and then automatically tried to sign me up for a subscription. Seriously? Update: The restore button finally works and I was able to use the app again. I do wish the pose library was a little bigger, but overall this is a good app for designing classes for teaching and for trying new personal practices. Previous review: I used to really like this app; I'm a yoga teacher and I use it to build routines and try them out on myself. Or at least, I used to. Now I suddenly cannot access my saved classes or build new ones without paying. Supposedly you can use the "Restore" button to regain free access, but that does absolutely nothing. I already paid for the app; no way am I paying for a monthly subscription to be able to use said app. What a shame..Version: 4.0

Excellent appI'm a total beginner and am loving this app. I've done just three sessions and find I cannot wait to do my next yoga 'class'. I'm not very flexible (yet) so do the best I can. The music is relaxing, the voice clear and gentle, and the video helps me make sure I'm doing the poses correctly. Highly recommended. Update - one year on and I'm still in love with this app. Am still on beginner classes, I'm in my fifties so not as flexible as I was, but am dipping my toe into intermediate classes. My flexibility has improved so worth persevering no matter your age..Version: 4.0

Yoga studio appMy one complaint is the classes do not download easily.Version: 4.4.18

Best yoga appThis is such a great yoga app. I was initially disappointed when I re-loaded this app (that I’d previously paid for) onto my new ipad as everything seemed to be subscription-based. I persevered though as I was so impressed with the app previously, and I’m glad I did. Reading through the other reviews, it seemed as though the developers had listened to feedback from other people in the same situation, and now provided a restore function to re-enable download previously accessible classes..Version: 4.1.8

Life saving app - you won't regret it!!Yoga is now part of my day - I love the 15 min classes that keep me in touch even when I'm short on time. I love choosing what I need - if I need to approach the day with strength I do the strength - today I have some work issues to deal with so I chose Flexibility. I love love love this app!.Version: 3.1.3

Great app, but needs more intermediate and advanced classesI have been using this app for over 6 years and have brought a lot of friends on to it with me. Only issue is that you keep adding new beginners classes and don’t reward your longstanding customers with more content. The new Kimmy classes are a good addition, but for every new series you add please think of you long term clients. Sales theory is that it’s cheaper to keep than to acquire …..Version: 4.4.14

Perfect home yoga companionThis wonderful app has been a perfect home yoga companion when I have limited time or weather restrictions from working out or running outdoors. The classes are focussed and the instructions are simple with a soothing neutral voice. I use it for back pain, running and intermediate level exercises and it is a good workout for me. My fitness is reasonable and I can run 8-10km comfortably in 45-55mins..Version: 3.4

This app is the bestI’ve been using it almost a decade !!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰.Version: 4.4.17

Beginner essentials.I started w Rodney Yee when he first started about 10 yrs ago. Now have been practicing w Instructor in purple tank. Basically yoga studio saved my life. I was in a hit and run. I was the hit. I was thrown 30 ft into a snow bank. I broke both my legs and ankle and sustained a serious head injury. I believe that dueto my many yrs of practice with Transcendental Meditation taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and my dedication to yoga I had the flexibility that allowed me to “relax” into the fall. Rather than stiffening up I floated inside my body. I was in PT for four months and they could not believe how fast I recovered. They had never seen anyone with that much physical control that came from the inner harmony I experienced w my body and mind. I was very disappointed to see the Hip Hop yoga. It is a bastardization of all the principles of yoga. I only do this wonderful instructor in the purple tank and Rodney Yee. They seem to understand the inner relationship of mind and body. The whole nickname thing ruins participation in the reviews..Version: 4.3.19

Yoga StudioI have really enjoyed this app since a friend recommended it to me. I use it after bike riding, skiing and any other exercise where I know my body will protest afterwards, along with everyday yoga practice. It’s great to able to choose based on the time you have and the area for focus. It was a little distressing when it changed to a monthly charge, I was very happy with the response for those not wishing to take up the new fee structure..Version: 3.7.0

Highly RecommendThis app was recommended to me by my physiotherapist for easy, guided exercises to help with my injury recovery. It's amazing- the pre-made collections have clear instructions and classes, the custom class maker is easy to use, and there are options for every level and time constraint..Version: 3.7.0

Great Yoga App for travelling.I’ve been using this app for the last six years. Other than a very good variety of classes what I love about it is the ability to download classes into your own studio so you can do the classes without needing wifi. This has been fantastic for me as we spend 4-5 months a year sailing and travelling, often we are in areas where connectivity is a problem. It’s been a great way to keep me fit, flexible, focused and relaxed while away from home..Version: 4.4.22

If you get one yoga app make it this oneI've had this app for maybe two years now and I still use it a few times a week and love it! I'd never done yoga before downloading it, and found the videos and the beginner classes perfect. I love the more advanced classes now too, especially the flexibility ones, they are a great workout! If you will get one yoga app, whether you are new to yoga or more experienced, make it this one. It's a paid app but totally worth it!.Version: 3.8.0

Years of useI originally got this app many, many years ago when Starbucks used to give away the cards with codes to get apps for free. I’ve used off and on for many years. Always saying even though I got it free I would have paid much more than they were charging at the time. I recently “ upgraded” to the paid subscription to access more classes and am very happy with it still. I am in my 50s and seem to wake up stiff almost every day. I started doing just one round of sun salutations each morning and it’s been an amazing help! I’ve been going outside each morning and doing sun salutation and then one of the other 10-15 minute classes. Perfect way to start the day and I don’t feel like my shoulders are up near my ears after sitting at a desk all day. Had it for years already and I’m sure I’ll keep using for many more.Version: 4.4.20

Fantastic!!My husband & I do a yoga session 5 times a week & we really love it. It has improved his golf swing & flexibility & I’m getting more flexible & we are feeling more energised each time. Just love the different sessions & how you can keep challenging yourself. We live in the country & I was tired of traveling to classes so this Yoga Studio is a blessing. Thank you so much to the people behind the app..Version: 4.2.3

Not... so disappointedI’ve used the product for years precisely because it didn’t use subscription as a business model. I was under the impression this company was better than the others who jumped on the greed wagon of subscription but I was wrong. I’ve lost trust for this company and no longer believe their message. For those of us who have had this product, the least they could’ve done is grandfathered us in for a complimentary year. I feel let down and ripped off. Sure they’ll continue to obtain customers but I won’t be one of them. It’s my understanding that even when you subscribe, if it is at the lower tier, you will see ads. If this is true, it confirms the motivation is greed and not a desire to make a great product. Surely, there was a better way. Ugh. UPDATE: Well, I’m eating humble pie. The app listens to its customers. For that, I’m changing my review from 1 (grumpy star) to 4 stars. Going with 4 stars as I haven’t actually tried a session yet but I am cautiously optimistic. The developer explained that they did indeed grandfather-in their previous customers. I am so so happy to have my yoga app back. Thank you..Version: 4.3.3

Great App just what I needI have been using yoga app for about three years now and still love it. I go through phases sometimes using it daily or just once a week or when I need it. I have tried many other apps and yoga subscriptions. And while live sessions or recorded real sessions have other benefits, what I like about this one is that I can fit it into my day, how much or how long I want to or can do, what I fancy doing, in terms of focus or even create my entirely own yoga session. The latter I have done and continued to tweak it, and when I have the time like to do that. Though I was disappointed at first when they went to charging subscription as I thought I didn’t use it enough, I do think it is worth the content in what they have put together even if I just use some basic things of what is on offer. I am really happy about it and can recommend it..Version: 4.3.30

Really awesomeAs a bloke who had never done any yoga before this app has been great. I have been able to work through the beginner routines and quite happily sit with intermediate. I particularly like the 15 or 30 minute sessions as the timeframes sit well in the busyness of day to day life. Totally recommend this app..Version: 3.6

♥️Love this! Guided classes at your own level, super convenient.Version: 4.1.7

Great for people who have busy schedules and can’t make it to classesI’ve tried a lot of yoga apps I this is the best one I have come across so far. I have the monthly subscription and what you get for the price is honestly a really good deal. There is different levels of classes which I like because I have progressed so far in the app, and there are different lengths of classes so you can choose whichever goes best with your schedule. I also really like that you can copy a class and customize it to your needs of what you prefer. Very user friendly and even though I don’t use the hip hop yoga I thought it was fun when I tried it the first time, lol. If I were to say anything I wish this app would improve on is the time you have to relax or be in corpse pose towards the end of the class: it’s like 15-30 sec (I can’t remember) and I personally like a longer mediation after the class to get mind in the right place. Thank for the app, it’s awesome!.Version: 4.1

Love this appThis app givthe flexibility this app gives me. I can tailor my practice to what is happening for me and my body. I can practice at anytime anywhere… the flexibility this app gives me. I can tailor my practice to what is happening for me and my body. I can practice at anytime anywhere… commonly use, mainly beginner but aspiring to improve. While travelling I can practice yoga whether a 15min session or an hour..it's so versatile and fits within everyone's lifestyle. Thank you.Version: 4.4.15

Brilliant app for new yogisI started using this app about 5 years ago and I keep coming back to it time and time again. The classes are structured really well with good progression between the levels. When I started I could just about manage the beginner classes but I have now made my way up to the advanced sessions, which have provided me with a whole new challenge. Along the way I’ve become stronger and more flexible and have learnt much more about listening to my body, which has all been invaluable in the other sports which I do. This app has really helped build my confidence in my yoga practice and created the flexibility I need to practice at home, on the road, whenever I wanted. I also feel much more confident attending local classes. I’ve learnt so much from this app and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is new to yoga, or who wants to practice but is unable to get to a local class..Version: 3.8.0

Perfect for beginnersAs a man in his mid fifties who had never tried any form of yoga lesson I decided to give this a go on the recommendation of my physio after a session on my stiff back. I have always been fit and healthy but realised the stiff back getting up in the morning was getting worse. Not only has my pain gone, I’m feeling better all round, flexibility is now much better and I’ve even started hitting the golf ball further. Above all else this is fun, yes I still struggle with certain more advanced exercises but if you don’t have access to a gym and or classes this is excellent..Version: 4.3.32

Still the best yoga appLove the latest update with the new Teacher. Keep up the great work.Version: 3.7.0

Using my account on more than one deviceLove love love this app, have been using it for about 8 years and as a yoga teacher I would never recommend another app to my students. Price has gone up but worth it in my eyes. One question tho .. I have it on my phone but would like to use it on my Mac. But can not figure out how to sign into my account ?? Please please help. This is the only issue I have but would Love some help.Version: 4.4.16

Let me tell you why this app is 5 Star worthyFirst, I have a personal hatred of subscription apps. When your subscription ends, you have nothing. 😡I’d greatly prefer to pay for it outright, even if it’s a steep price or if I have to pay again for new content. However, I’ve been wanting to get back into yoga and was dead tired of the DVDS I bought way back when. (I also have a personal hatred of yoga classes, so that’s out.) I decided to give Yoga Studio a try. I figured I’d know within 7 days (the free trial) if I liked it. And I do! It actually only took three days to decide I love it. I love that there’s something for my years away from yoga self that makes me feel I can do it again but is challenging, too. The variety is also impressive. In over month of practicing at least three times per week I’ve only repeated classes because I particularly liked them. There is plenty of content to do a new class every day. I also like being able to create my own class “mixes” from other classes. The teachers are clear and calm and the music is not intrusive. I like that it syncs with Apple Health automatically, and I like the calendar that tracks your sessions and allows you to schedule classes for reminders. I really do love Yoga Studio. The only thing I’d change is switch from subscription to purchase..Version: 4.3.6

NewbieI am a lazy exerciser and also know very little about yoga. I’ve used the app over the past few months, starting from beginner classes, just 15 minutes or half an hour and I am now on intermediate classes. I haven’t hurt myself once, find the videos super easy to follow and feel incredible after each session. Even when I’m offline I can use downloaded classes. I love this app..Version: 4.3

UpdateI’ve updated this review one more time as since the restore button is fixed I find myself using the app again. My wife uses it regularly and I’ve again recommended it a couple times since the restore has been fixed. I understand why they have gone to a subscription method of payment for new users but wished they’d found a happy medium in the pricing. Old review I was very disappointed with the new subscription payment and the inability to restore the app for those who had previously bought it. They fixed the restore button but I am disappointed in the subscription method. Good luck to the developers but I won't be recommending it anymore. Previous review in part I bought this app at least a couple years ago. As a chiropractor I recommended it to many patients to buy. They have now changed the app to subscription and all the people who bought the app (I think it was £4.99) have to now go to subscription!!.Version: 3.7.0

Long time customerI use this App everyday, The original classes and meditations. Haven’t used the subscription service yet but I love how I can design my own classes as I have a back problem that stops me from performing some moves or positions. This allows me to still do yoga which I was told I would have to give up. Don’t seem to get any updates to classes or meditations anymore since the subscription service started, I would have thought as a long term, original user there would have been some updates but it is what it is. The App is still really good and if I was able to take part in all classes, I would definitely try out the subscription service. This is one of my must have Apps..Version: 3.9.0

Love the app, not sure about the badgesThis is a brilliant app, and I have been a loyal subscriber for a while now. I love the way the sessions are presented: clear background, the options to change music and create your own sessions are also very useful. I am not sure about the new addition of badges though, I can’t see really what they were meant to add to my practice? In addition, the badges do not get awarded consistently and keep resetting for me every day... other than that - brilliant job on the app, well done! As to suggestions: I would love to see more pranayama sessions, and the breakdown of Rodney Yee’s sessions, i.e. showing the order of poses..Version: 4.3.3

Keeps getting betterI think I began using this app roughly 4-5 (maybe even 6)years ago. There was nothing as awesome as this for free then and even for the new price point, there is still nothing that much compares. I do look out of curiosity but I am astounded that this app still leaves a lot of other yoga apps in the dust especially when it comes to clear rich and straightforward instruction . I've started this review several times and realized, I think I have sent it and haven't. I continue to rely heavily on this app and only one other that is more pricey but is worth it. I had generally liked the direction of things until the hip hop yoga. I am a fan of hip hop but I am not sure this was the best matched instructor or best use of innovation. Despite that, I do look forward to some of the other things that are coming. We are overdue for some pranayama. So thanks! In my humble opinion, I'd hoped to see some expansion of the various essentials, like a 15-minute intermediate essential practice for balance or a deeper dive into the the different kinds of sun salutations. I am a big fan of the earth salutations(noting there are a lot of balancing poses in those practices) and earth meditations. Overall, keep coming with the great offerings. We are all growing. Helps us do yoga dailyI’ve used this app a few years ago but recently came back to it during lockdown as needed some way to stay fit, physically and mentally. My wife and I use this app most days, some days the 15 min sessions, most days the 30 min sessions. The different classes from beginner to intermediate are nicely paced and over the last six months we have gone from wobbly and unfit and nervous with some of the poses to calm, strong and happy in the harder intermediate poses. Advanced are still beyond us although we try once in a while. I’m usually sad to finish each session as I enjoy them so much, and Yoga Studio is now an important part of my life and wellbeing. And on days when we are tired we will do a 15 min relaxation class to just chill out and find our centres again. Recommended..Version: 4.3.35

Garbage for old customersI bought the app a while back. Now I have to pay a monthley subscription to continue accessing what I payed for..Version: 3.7.0

Great for exercising in privacy and at your own pace.I love this program, it has literally changed my lifestyle. I can easily practice at home daily and the progression from beginner to intermediate is well designed because the intermediate classes build on the beginner skills and you can always go back to the beginner set. Once I had used the program (that I paid for) and it had all of the data for the number, type and duration of classes I had taken, it unexpectedly and with no prior warning, required me to move to a "subscription" model and it would cost me more to keep using it (in my case $20/year). If I didn't, all of my previous data would be lost. I think the price is very reasonable, it was just a surprise. I don't know if they planned it that way or not but I did feel like I was the victim of the old bait and switch (or, it's free until you're hooked) scam. They should make that more clear up front when you first acquire the program. It would add considerable integrity to what truly is a great product. Scott Parker, using Yoga Studio 5-6 days a week since January 2017..Version: 4.4.20

Best yoga app I have found thus far (and trust me, I’ve tried many)After using the app for about 1 week, I subscribed for the annual subscription. I have now been using the app and its various classes and features for about 2 months. This perfectly supplements my in studio classes. You can customize your classes by selecting from a very good number of poses (not all, but A LOT). Custom classes are seamless. The “pre-loaded” classes are a great selection and the sequences are well put together. They break down the classes by levels (Beginners, Intermediate, etc.) and then those categories are broken down into various classes like Strength, Flexibility, Relaxation OR a combination class! There is even a section you can go to to review the poses and their variations, almost like a study flip card. I find when I am not on the mat, I am reading about new poses and reviewing poses I already practice well. Very well thought out app. There are a few advancements I think they will make in the near future, including adding more and more poses (at least I hope!) but as the app stands it is very well done. I suggest it to everyone I know, even the technologically challenged because it is so easy to use!- Namaste.Version: 3.9.0

Great app!As a beginner to yoga for just on 12 months decided to try this app as I found it hard to attend classes regularly. Love this app and most moves I have learnt I have found very easy to follow. Some are out of my ability but I'll get there with this app. Because it's so good I have found I have no problem doing it at home. I have tried other yoga apps but they don't flow like YS. Disappointed it has now gone to subscription , but what can u do? You do get what you pay for which is a bonus and I like the new meditation section. I do wish this app could be used on a laptop. My daughter loves this app but only has a laptop so can't subscribe..Version: 3.7.0

Had issues, sortedBought full version years back, used regularly (a great app), then locked out because now they run a subscription scheme. And no, clicking restore as advised on other feedback did nothing. However, the support was actually great, it took a while but finally it worked again. Unlike for many app, the support team was polite, admitted there was an issue, was not flippant, etc and most importantly, it got sorted. So back to a great app. Can’t say what the subscription scheme is like, but otherwise, strongly recommended..Version: 4.0.5

SNEAKY $100 CHARGEI just want to alert everybody that this app automatically charges you one year subscription ($100) even though you were NOT given a choice on the subscription detailed page in the app. You can only select it in the App Store page AND you have to do it 24 hours before the ending date of the trial period. I was okay with the basic classes it offered, until it decided to auto charge 100 dollars. on the app itself: offers basic practices (“Essentials”) that fulfills the need for yogis of all levels, and they’re well done but not much more than that. So routine gets a bit boring after a while. Rodney Yee’s videos offer a bit more variation in guidance and movements, but there are only three videos for medium and advanced level. I’ve been practicing yoga since 2016. It feels like the app doesn’t offer enough in targeted exercises or varied exercises..Version: 4.2.8

Great appI’ve always had very tight hamstrings and hips and over the years have tried stretches and a couple of yoga videos. About a year ago I started using this app, trying to do 15/20 minutes in the mornings before work and then try and do a little bit more at the weekend. What a huge difference I’ve noticed, I’m still quite inflexible in some poses but I can now touch my toes and feel stronger in a non-gym way. There are so many different classes to try and I feel uneasy if I ever have to miss a session! 100% recommend..Version: 4.3.19

Yoga anywhereI started using this app around March 2015 and the fact that I am still use it shows just how brilliant it is. It’s so versatile. I keep a yoga mat, strap and brick at work as well so there is no excuses. With this app I can do yoga anywhere - sun salutations in the morning and after a 12-14 hour shift on my feet, there is nothing better than a 30 mins relaxation session to stretch out my tired, tight muscles. But life gets in the way sometimes and it doesn’t happen every day... that’s one of the pleasures of this collection. When one has time and is committed it works, and when one taps in now and again, it still works... our bodies just love to stretch out... the old saying “use it or lose it” is very true. When Gaiam brought into this app, I was worried but I have tried some of the sessions with the other Yogis and find I go back to the original lovely gentle voiced lady all the time. I find her soothing and definitely not intrusive, she gently guides you through with helpful hints to get the best out of your body. Thank you..Version: 4.3.22

So easy, yet effectiveI've always wanted to try yoga, but never prioritised the time or money to go to classes. This app clearly explains and shows you the poses, all within the "classes" themselves (in other words, you learn as you go). Great if you want to do yoga, don't know how to do it and want to do it in your own time..Version: 3.1.2

Best yoga/health app EVERI had done a little bit of yoga here and there but after playing a high impact sport I was super tight and sore all the time. The classes in Yoga Studio are so easy to follow, the teachers voice super soothing and the music is very pleasant too. I can honestly say that in the morning I wake up a lot less stiff and really notice the difference if I haven't practiced in a while..Version: 3.9.0

Most Grateful, have been using the app for years and it has helped with my overall well beingMany thanks for a wonderful app. It has helped me in so many ways, especially with my back pain as a nurse & after a severe shoulder injury. I have shared your app with many of my friends, family & chiropractor..Version: 4.3.49

Excellent as always!I've had this app since it's first iteration and it's still fantastic. I use it most days and it's my number 1 app overall. The classes are well laid out, with good explanations on every position. Additional: May 2016 and still my favourite app! One consideration though, I use this app mainly on my iPad, but I used my iPhone occasionally as well. It would be nice if the calendars would sync. Currently they don't. Apart from that, all good. August 2017 - still loving the app and lots of new classes have been added. One of my favourites!.Version: 3.7.0

Like a yoga class in your pocketI love this app sooooooo much. Living rurally, it’s hard to get to class, but with this app I feel like I don’t need to! I literally use it every day. Both of the teachers are very calming and I love that you can search by time or focus, the variety of classes and ability to personalize them. The subscription fee is low and well worth it. 🙏❤️✨.Version: 4.1.3

Great Yoga AppI have been using this app for a number of years, even going from a one-time payment through to in-app purchases. I have also tried a number of other apps, some significantly more expensive than Yoga Studio, and have found this to be my favourite Yoga app. I especially like the ability to download all routines onto my phone as I am a sailor and so offline use is my most important requirement. It is nice to see other Yoga teachers appearing and new and different routines, especially more meditations. Keep up the good work..Version: 4.4.6

GoodUseful app for someone who doesn’t know or is just starting out and needs guidance. Had issues when it changed to subscription from purchase model but seems to work again which is great. I just use the basic features to help with range of motion issues from sitting at work, helps a lot.Version: 4.3

Want my original version back!I paid for the original version many years ago and was very extremely happy with this app and I have always rated it high. However, now there are more options to choose from but I have to pay a monthly fee which I am not interested in - would want to only see the classes that were included with the original purchase so I don’t see the other options. If you want me to be a beta user for any new classes you are introducing, offer it to me as a free trial and I will provide feedback, but for now I would love to have my clean original version of the Yoga Studio App back. Previous review: It has been years now that I have been using this app and still love it. I have built strength in the process and now am able to follow the Advance collection. I am amazed by how well this App is designed and the transition from one pose to the next is flawless. I would love to see more options under the Advance Collection that are harder but shorter. Please add breathing exercises as well which will take this already awesome app to a whole new level. I thank Yoga Studio for guiding me and helping me become a better Yogi. This app is highly recommended for all individuals at any level in their Yoga Quest..Version: 4.1.2

Subscription IssuesI have used this app for over 5 years now and it’s my number one app that I recommend to all my students. I had been using the app fine and paid my subscription fee of £1.79 for the last few years to keep the App and all the updates. Last week it stopped working and now says I have to pay $69:99 to get my subscription back even tho I have been paying monthly. I was literally in the middle of the vinyasa series and now I can’t access this at all? What has changed?.Version: 4.3.12

Best Yoga App!I tried a bunch of free yoga apps before being recommended this one by a friend. Holy moly it's amazing. Different classes with different times so if you're in a hurry not to worry. Some are as short as 10 mins! The instructor also has the most lovely soothing voice ever. I could easily quit my job and stay home and do yoga studio all day..Version: 3.1.1

Still here!I discovered and downloaded the free version of Yoga Studio in 2015 and created a regular practice because of it. As a novice it let me go at my own pace and over time I built strength and stability. When the first big upgrade took place, I was happy enough with the app to subscribe. But then as new upgrades occurred, I frequently found myself locked out of the app. I even lost my entire history on the app and all my custom classes in one of the updates. I was advised to register solve the problem. My subscription is paid through the Apple Store—I haven’t registered with Gaiam as it seems as though there are too many steps to take to be given access if one is already a loyal customer. I recently gave the app a 1 star rating out of sheet frustration. Long story short: my access has been restored and I’ve been able to upgrade without losing it again. I haven’t got back the history I lost but since that time the app has remained stable. I still use it regularly, and appreciate the new classes. Thank you..Version: 4.3.4

Restore function working - yay!I was one of the early purchasers of this app and was really frustrated when it changed to subscription as the restore function didn’t work and simply because there are too many subscription services these days, which end up costing an arm and a leg. But they’ve fixed the restore button which I’m really happy about as I love the original app. The reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that, due to the subscription model, I will never get any new content. It is still a great app but I don’t think I would subscribe to get the added content..Version: 4.1.2

Does it’s job wellI’ve been using this app for years to practice yoga. It’s great for those time you cannot get to an actual studio. It’s very straight forward and easy to get into a rhythm. You can edit the standard classes and tailor the poses to what suite you. I don’t use the PRO but imagine it to be a continuation of this already solid app. Unfortunately, as a male, I find some of the balance poses difficult for a beginner nd intermediate. I simply fast forward through those or edit them out of my class..Version: 4.4.1

Love it but also a bit bemused by having to buy it againBought this app a few years ago and love it, but was also surprised by having to buy it again via yearly subscription after having already bought it outright. Like other commentators I understand that the environment is changing and maybe they need yearly subscriptions to finance growth ... Perhaps they should consider a reduced fee for ‘rollover’ subscriptions from year to year. Also be good to see more female beginner classes, rather than just Rodney Yu..Version: 4.1.3

Why do I have to pay again?I was very happy with this app since I bought it a few years ago. But since the most recent update (April 2018) I find I am locked out and cannot use the app until I agree to pay again. I have tried restoring but that fails and I am still locked out. It well and truly earned 5 stars before but now as it is useless to me I am awarding it 1 star which it does not deserve. After this last update guess what? Yep it’s still not working. I am tempted to start subscribing because I really miss this app. But now I have no confidence in the developers and fear I will still be locked out just like others users. Thank you developers I have got my original purchase back of this fantastic app. I really missed it. It really deserves 5 stars but have given it 4 stars as I can only access it on my iPhone and would prefer to use my iPad which unfortunately runs on IOS 9 and I am locked out. Is there anyway a future update might solve this problem?.Version: 4.0.6

Helps my back and sciatica problemsFirstly, I paid a one off fee for this and had all the issues others had when it went to subscription, but the restore button works fine for me now. On to the app, for me the price was worth it for the range of “yoga for back pain” workouts and in particular, the 15 minute beginner combination. I find all useful but the combination is great first thing in the morning, and before and after HIIT workouts as an all body stretch. The app has come a long way, so I’m even considering subscription now, especially as using this on the Apple TV app is a joy..Version: 4.3

Great part of a routineBought this to help with flexibility as I prepare for my black belt TaeKwonDo grading. I'm doing the pre designed flexibility sessions after workouts and it's definitely pushing me. No previous yoga experience but it's still very easy to follow (yoga regulars may not think much of my technique though). The after yoga relaxation is a great added mental bonus..Version: 3.0

Great guidance!I started as a beginner and the guided sessions and pose examples really helped me to learn and work on perfecting my body positions..Version: 4.4.1

Good appIt’s easy to navigate the app and the workouts are good.Version: 4.4.18

Needs a few more tweaks to be 5 StarsTo begin, this app is a great tool for starting and maintaining a yoga practice. The variety of classes is impressive and the yoga pose library is very helpful. But... 1. Needs better sync across devices. I have installed this app, on my iPhone, iPad, and AppleTV. The Apple TV app seems to know what my most recent class I Completed on my iPad/iPhone was. It also seems to know that I have the annual subscription by granting me access to the extras that come with the subscription. Yet my iPad/iPhone app does not know what I recently did on my AppleTV nor does it record my class in my calendar. This should be resolved so you can easily transition between devices and have your yoga log kept regardless of device. 2.The calendar should allow for manually adding classes done outside the app. For ea ole, the Daily Calm app records meditation completed with the app and allows for users to add meditation they performed without the app in order to keep a record of their meditation practice. 3. The newer classes do not provide a glimpse of what positions will be performed during the class like the older classes do. I find this particularly useful in order to determine what poses I will be doing and if necessary review how to do a pose that may be new to me. Nevertheless, this is a great app and I enjoy using it..Version: 4.3.28

Great yoga app!!!So easy to use even if you have never done yoga before. The videos are great and the voice over allows you to follow the routine even when you can't see the screen or have your eyes shut. They are regularly adding new routines to help keep your workout interesting. I have recommended it to many people. Well worth it!.Version: 4.4.14

Great AppI am a mixed shift worker of all hours day and night, so getting to a yoga class regularly is very difficult. These sessions have proven to be a worthy alternative. To give some context, I have never tried yoga before other than some yoga stretches used pre or post sport so a complete beginner who's as tight as a drum - all the more reason to take some action. The studio classes are very easy to follow and pose descriptions provide extra detail when needed. To this date, not a glitch other than having to re download sessions after doing a restore of my iPad and I suspect that is less an issue with the app and frankly a couple of minutes wait is nothing. Professionally built app I use daily. Good job!.Version: 3.0

Great Yoga AppUpdate 6/4/20: I bought the yearly membership and was not able to access my account for a few hours. I still like the app but hopefully they’re able to fix the calendar not registering classes that have been taken. I use this app in sync with my Apple Watch and sometimes I will take a class and the app won’t register the class as taken. Other than that, it’s a good app with lots of fun yoga sequences to explore. ——————————————————— I absolutely love this app! I was using it as an alternative for a yoga membership and it works perfectly for me. It has features such as scheduling, class combinations with different levels and classes to choose from for different categories such as flexibility, strength and combinations which focuses on the entire body. It's very easy to follow as I use the mirroring option for the Apple TV. I saved $80 on my yoga membership by buying a $3.99 app. Well worth the money 👌🏼.Version: 4.3.21

Stole from me-- but gave it backWhen Yoga Studio first moved to a monthly subscription model, it locked out all its previous buyers who had paid a flat fee expecting to have their purchase for keeps. After having happily used it for years, I was furious when the app automatically updated and locked me out, hence the review below. FWIW, Gaiam seems to listen to its customers: They eventually allowed previous buyers to access their purchase again via the Restore function. I am therefore changing my rating to a cautious 4/5 stars. While I am a fan of this product, to some degree I am still wary that Gaiam may try to pull the rug out from under me at some point. PREVIOUS REVIEW - 1/5 stars I paid $3.99 as a one-time purchase for this app back in January 2015 and have happily used it since. With this newest update, it has moved to a tiered subscription model that forces even existing users who have already paid for the app to select a monthly plan to continue using it. It's like charging a new monthly rental fee to someone who has already paid for a movie years ago from the iTunes store. I would like the developers to either help me downgrade my app to the previous version that I had already paid for - or to refund me my money, thank you..Version: 3.7.0

Best ‘Go-To’ Bedroom YogaI’ve been using this app for years. I had never even been to a real yoga class before using it, but I found the directions in these classes were enough for me to learn each position. The range of class levels, styles and time frames are really diverse, from 10-mins to full hour long at beginner through to advanced and has everything from slow grounding meditation to groovy hip hop yoga fusion. Highly recommended, it’s worth every cent🤩.Version: 4.3.36

Good value for moneyThere’s some more expensive apps out there that I feel you get less out of. This app has solid 30 minute sessions or shorter ones if you prefer. There’s also targeted sessions for your back which I like. Different levels too depending on where you’re at. I like the sounds, the voice is relaxing and the flow of the videos are easy to follow..Version: 3.9.0

Good Yoga, Poor TechAfter researching and trying several apps, I chose Yoga Studio to help me start with the basics and progress at my own pace, my own way. It works well for me. On one device. What Yoga Studio fails at is cross-device syncing from iPhone to iPad. In 2020, this is basic functionality, not an aspirational goal of software development. 10/09: I received a message from the developers, which states "custom classes can be shared" and this is true. I have to manually share a custom class from my iPad to my iPhone. Further, if I make any changes to the class on the iPad or iPhone, I must delete it on the other device and share it again. I believe everything should sync between devices automatically. Upon reflection, I changed my review to 3 stars to 4 stars because Yoga Studio is excellent for its intended purpose. It is well worth the subscription price to me, despite the lack of a proper sync feature..Version: 4.3.28

One of my essential appsLove this, from the flexibility to choose level to how much time I’m able to schedule. No excuses not to do something every day. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. It’s helped me physically and emotionally (relaxation classes are wonderful). No regrets in investing the small yearly amount each year. The returns have more than made up for it..Version: 4.3.18

Easy to follow - no visual clutter.I’ve had this app since before Gaiam bought it from the original developer. The yoga for backs routines totally saved my health, when I strained my back, a few years ago. I’ve now got properly invested in my practise during lockdown and now have the paid version. It’s very expensive compared to other apps, but I think the format is easier to follow and I also think the classes are safer - I tried another app and pulled a muscle within five minutes! I’m not young and still very much a beginner but I’m now nearly 6 months in to a proper daily practise and I can see and feel results! Thank you!.Version: 4.3.39

Heart felt thanksLiving in a tiny fishing village on the eastern coast of Australia, the opportunity to attend yoga instruction is limited, especially with Covid-19. I have gained more than fitness. Aged 62 and having an implanted cardiac device and some associated problems, I am happy to report my cardiologist was completely pleased with my fitness level after practising yoga. It is very handy too for travel as one can take the classes wherever you go even where there is no internet (after they’ve been downloaded from the site.) Thank you..Version: 4.3.21

Back issuesI have been using this app for a few years and it has helped release my back pain. Before I would wake up in the morning I was barely able to move. Now practicing every day the pain is very minimal or gone completely. Together with walking a mile each day, I have been able to do all the activities I need to do each day. This app changed my lifestyle..Version: 4.4.16

Fantastic Way Into a Regular PracticeI love this app and I’ve had it for a few years. I was pleased to be able to continue using some content after the pricing changed - I had originally paid a one off fee. There are I think just the right amount of practice choices from 15 to 60 mins; and you can chose to focus on flexibility, relaxation or a combination. It is really true about yoga (or any change I guess) that just doing a little every day builds a habit. I’ve just returned to yoga after a period of not practising, and I’m now doing 15 minutes in the morning then half an hour before bed. My back ache is less, I am sleeping better, my mood is more even. I would really recommend this app (I’ve shared it with friends!) as the yoga teacher’s voice is for me just right, the timings of the exercises just testing enough and I personally like the birdsong. It is so good to carve out 30 minutes, roll out my mat and get inside my body after a day spent in my head..Version: 4.0.6

Something for everyoneI love this app. I’ve been using it for years. I love that it has beginner through advance level classes, and focus-specific classes. Not many yoga apps or studios can help a beginner get physically prepared before jumping into downward dogs and chaturanga. Even after I’ve been away from my practice for a while I can adjust and then work my way back to where I want to be at my own pace. It’s all I need. Highly recommend..Version: 4.4.23

Good app, except for sensual whispersThis is a very clean app with easy to navigate and find the right exercises for you. This app has little to no social media elements and I count that as a huge up side. The exercises themselves are well planned and intuitive which is good, because I have to turn off the instructor. Now, I appreciate good instructors in health apps like these. They usually make the exercises feel faster and give helpful tips. I don’t know how good this instructor is because I, personally, am grated by the instructors voice. She speaks in a soft ASMR voice right up on the mic so it feels like she’s behind you whispering into your ear at all times. I’m assuming this is to help relax the user, but it just makes me. So. Uncomfortable. If the narrator spoke in at a clear and normal volume, that would make me feel so much more comfortable than the sensual whispers. I hope that new narrator options are introduced in the future..Version: 4.1.8

Like a private yoga instructor at homeThis is without a doubt the best yoga app I’ve ever come across. So many different classes with length and difficulty variations, the tone of voice and background sound are super clear and relaxing... I was strangely prompted to renew my subscrition and change it from monthly to yearly, but have been able to change back through my iphone settings - so perhaps the message could have been clearer to state that the change was optional. A small thing in the grand scheme of things, this app makes being consistent with your yoga practise so much more affordable and flexible - so thank you! 😇.Version: 4.1.8

Favourite appThis is by far my favourite app! Use it all the time and love the variety it provides as well as being an easy fit into any day routine. Would love to see a potential 30 minute class for "that time of the month" as I struggle to be able to create my own practice for this time and would love to be able to practice all month without lady problems causing me to stop my routine!.Version: 3.0

This is a really great appI’ve been using this app regularly for a number of years now and I reckon it’s great. You can design your own practice, starting from scratch or adapting one of the existing ones. There are a range of instructors and different types of yoga, so you can find a practice that suits what you need for the day. Something here for everyone at any level.Version: 4.4.15

Great for the frequent travellerI travel constantly and am always in and out of different hotel rooms where a routine is hard to find to keep yourself in shape. This app is the first time I’ve managed to establish a routine and stick to it. I am particularly hopeless at yoga, nevertheless my mornings in my hotel room I now look forward to with a minimum of one of the quick sessions before heading to work. If you’re on the road all the time then give it a try.Version: 4.2
