✓ WipEoutEdit: Game went downhill with subsequent updates adding micro-transactions. It's also unfortunate that vehicles are for the most part direct upgrades and not sidegrades so there is little point in trying out different ships (just use the one with the best stats) unlike WipEout. Lastly it would have been much better if you could choose pure time trial or race on each track. I could look past all this however if not for the retroactive microtransactions. I was going to buy pixelbite's newest game but now I'm worried about shady retroactive microtransactions =/ Edit: haha, just looked at some of the other reviews. The controls took me one race to get used to. It's YOU, not the controls. Probably not wipeout or fzero fans. I do think a lower speed class should be added for people like you guys who are new to the genre and need a more gradual difficulty curve. ------------------------ This is precisely how the time trial portion of WipEout on iOS should be done. Well worth the $1 (worth more than that actually). A cautionary note, there is only one speed difficulty so if you don't think you can handle high speed racing, don't bother with this. It won't be fun for you. Updates are planned and hopefully the game is expanded to include races and other modes, but for now the $1 is still excellent value for what is here. If race mode and more is added this app would be well worth $5-$10 if the quality is as good..Version: 1.0.9
✓ Not what I was expectingThis isn't a time trial hovercraft racer, it's more of an endless runner like Temple Run. Contrary to what Spiral said, you can adjust turning sensitivity with the buttons, but it never feels quite right. Your car drifts slowly in one direction for the first second you hold down the button, then jolts to the side. Same with tilt; it's like there's a huge deadzone, then BAM! It could be that sensitive if it were consistent across the turning radius, but instead it works very strangely. Fix the turning and it might be fun..Version: 1.0.0

✓ IAP spoilerNot a bad racing game although the controls can be very awkward to use on twisty courses. Again, it's the dreaded IAP problem that spoils the game. You can't get cannons for your craft without paying for extra storage. They need to employ their 'no IAP' idea from space marshals 1. I'd like to say it works well on space marshals 2 as well but my iPad won't take the game. Thanks pixelbite!.Version: 1.1.4
✓ Good but could be betterThe graphics and sound are amazing,also the race tracks are well designed and challenging only down side is that there are no other racers in the game to race against also some power ups would make this game more interesting and keep me playing. ✓ Good app starting to go badThis app is realy good but i cant get phase two unlocked becuse the challenges in phase 1 are slightly to demanding (and i play a lot of games) and the only alternative is you have to pay to unlock phase 2, iv seen this kind on buisness moddle befor and it just ends up annoying people making the app sell less.Version: 1.0.2

✓ Bad controls, boring gameplayThe pics look good in the description but the controls are incredibly jerky and the gameplay is just solo racing around the same track, really boring after the first race, not worth $1.Version: 1.0.1
✓ It should be betterIts the closest the Wipeout Ive seen on iOS since AG Drive got pulled. Everything about the game is pretty great, except for one game mechanic: The Red and Green Polarity gates. Its an interesting idea for maybe one or two tracks, but for every track in order to gain boost, its annoying and takes away the point of games like Wipeout or Podracer, and thats to go fast. The polarity mechanic makes it feel more like an obstacle course, and not a course that takes skill and precision to get through. Fun for a few levels, but after a while I want something about speed and precision, and not hitting or avoiding gates..Version: 1.2.0

✓ Horrible controlsI personally don't know what's wrong... tried both onscreen and tilt control and there wasn't any improvement. Neither was the sensitivity controls any help... It kept either under steering me or over steering me. Call me weak, but the range between under and over steering seems too small that getting the right steer you need is near impossible no matter the sensitivity setting you set. On the other aspects, it seemed to be an ok game at the very least. I couldn't get any further due to the frustration of hitting the walls by under or over steering no matter how small the adjustment you make in your tilt or touch..Version: 1.0.0
✓ Close but no cigarSuch a close thing, it nearly resembles wipeout but it fails in some crucial places. Firstly the controls are clunky and unresponsive and too simplistic, you don't have any way of controlling the degree of the turn you are making, it's literally left or right buttons. Secondly the HUD display is basic, it's standard procedure in most racing games to give as much info as pos, what type of corners coming up your speed, oh, and a brake wouldn't go amiss either good graphics, and music, but controls and game display are terrible making the game not so much about racing, but instead memorising the course like a maths test, which as you can imagine gets boring fairly quickly..Version: 1.0.0
✓ Good graphics horrible gameplay!!!Appart from the good graphics the gameplay is awful there should be actual races. It gets boring after a while there's only a few tracks and the tracks themselves are way too narrow it's hard to control the vehicle weather you use touch or movement steering. The achievements are too hard overall the gameplay is just running tracks over and over again gets boring fast. This was a great idea but seems like they just failed I do not regret buying this but they defenetly need to add actual Racing with other vehicles or people online more vehicles more customization and it would be a great game..Version: 1.0.0

✓ Amazing GraphicsThis game has BRILLIANT graphics! Please get rid of the 3 stars for each level because it makes it annoying that i cant completely finish the level without redoing it! I would have found it less annoying to pay more for the game and not have to pay additional tool box slots, it makes it feel like pay to play. ✓ Difficulty settingsI like the game and the graphics but this game gets real hard, real fast. Why is there no difficulty setting? The only other thing is Everything needs to be unlocked which makes it harder. Maybe I'm not a very good driver but the target times are Impossible and the 3 collisions maximum badge is impossible. ✓ Potential not yet achieved.Basically, there are quite a few nice aspects to this game. The graphics and frame-rate are fine. The upgradable 'hovercraft' are pretty cool. But these good aspects are overwritten by an incredibly awful control scheme. Steering in this game feels very unnatural. Almost as if the steering works by 'changing lanes'. Which when cornering, makes it difficult to decide how much one should turn. One might find themselves bouncing from wall to wall on a straight, whilst trying to battle oversteering. ✓ Great game but...Repulze is an amazing game, it deserves a 3.5 because it feels like an unfinished product. It lacks any opponents. Assuming since this game was just released it will be added through an update. Buyer be warned that this for now is all time trial based racing. Another thing is if the developers could throw in a multiplayer be online or even just head to head would make this game one of the most solid purchases on the App Store. ✓ How is this an iTunes "Editor's Choice"?I was immediately intrigued by this fame since it looks a lot like F-Zero. Plus it was listed as the iPhone App Store Editor's Choice. So, I figured why not pick it up? Don't. At least not until they update the controls. The default are two touch arrows (Left/Right) which aren't great, but sadly they are better than the tilt control (set in options) which felt be labored and sluggish even at 100% sensitivity. The graphics look pretty decent on the iPad, and gameplay was smooth. The music wasn't too shabby either. But sadly I didn't ally get to enjoy much of it as I didn't really make it beyond 4 races. That's all I could stomach given the controls. If the developers update the controls, I'll be happy to give it another go and reconsider my review. ✓ Immediately annoyingHad to stop after 2 minutes. Controls for turning left and right are so sensitive that you end up either smashing into the walls all the time or micro-tapping ten million times to get positioned correctly before the road changes direction again. Could be fun but they need to get a real expert in game mechanics in there to fix these flaws. I just don't understand why they didn't see this already. ✓ It's ok, mehThe game is meh. Visuals are ok. Nothing compared to real racing 3, but the game play is repetitive and boring. After the 3rd race you'll realise the game is the same thing over and over. You basically race to the finish in a set time. You can get boosts and stuff which is interesting at first, but you'll dislike it eventually. Besides that, it says hyper sonic but you don't break the sound barrier at all, so it still feels fast but not that fast. The game is ok but it's pretty boring after the 3rd race. ✓ Below mediocreThe only reason i got this was because it was running at 60fps and i like racing games. But this game doesnt even worth the price in my opinion because there is nothing to it. ✓ Where's the Gameplay ElementAnyone looking for a Wipeout style racing game will be very dissapointed. For a start its not a racing game, there are green and red forcefields scattered throughout the tracks, you have to pass through the correct color on demand to increase your speed and complete the track in time. This, although dull maybe could have been at least a little enjoyable if it was possible to avoid crashing into walls all the time, the controls are awful. So i'm giving it 2 stars, and thats only because I love the graphics, other than the graphics there's not much to rate. Take my advice developers, add some powerups, add some racers, add some upgrades, add multiplayer track and arena battles and you'll have a mega hit..Version: 1.0.0

✓ Phase 2/ too many mechanics.Ok, I loved phase 1 however with phase 2 introducing 3 new mechanics I just find it overly complex. I really liked just racing thru the levels trying to hit the gates but now you need to collect toolkits, open up obstacles with power coils or something? It just overly complicates what was a nice, highly polished, simple racing game imo. The twitch handling is good, the visuals and general presentation the nicest thing this side of a post-WipEout world and the challenges paced well enough that you can play for minutes or hours. ✓ SteeringHey! The game is pretty cool for it's early stages. I feel like the graphics have been anti-aliased more than most game which is nice to see less jaggies. ✓ Hate racing games that stop dead when you collideSorry about the one star but on he first track on my first race I hit the entranceway to a tunnel then I bounce back to a full stop with n announcer going 3 2 1 and then i collide with the other side, repeat 3 more times. I get around the track then again collide with the same entranceway. Repeat until I hit exit and came on here to review. Nothing shoud ever come to a full sop unless you hit a building or wall but definitely not while you are the track..Version: 1.0.0
