✓ OverratedI'm confused as to such high ratings for this. I don't mind a simple game, with simple graphics etc because they are often the most fun... But... Let me tell you, this is rock hard!! It is also not very satisfying to beat your best score. I don't know why! Now I am not at all a tight person, and while £1.49 is not going to break the bank, I think this game is definitely not worth over the minimum 69p, due to how very very very simplistic it actually is. Physics model doesn't seem great though, very "linear" for want of a better description. Just doesn't feel exciting or like you're in control. Also there is a bug in the scoring - mine *always* tells me "new high score" even if I get a score in single digits - in Game Centre it tell me my high score which looks closer to being correct, but because of the buggy scores I have little confidence in it, can't easily see what I'm aiming to beat, and so not much incentive to keep playing..Version: 1.0.5

✓ Superb gameplay but w/a couple bugsI find this game incredibly addicting. Whenever I'm bored I get an urge to play it. Simple to just get right into and easy to exit as well (if my salt levels become too high). There are two aspects of the movement, however, that make it hard to fully unwind and immerse oneself in this game. First, there's bouncing. Occasionally, the ball jumps like it's life depended on it, probably around 4 times higher than normal. It happens unpredictably: sometimes when I'm expecting a typical rebound, sometimes when merely turning around a corner, sometimes when I'm traveling in a straight line with no bumps. It wouldn't be so bad if the sudden airtime allowed me to turn quickly enough to stay over a curving track. But far too often the giant bounce throws me off the track with no possible recovery, ending the run. Secondly, even worse, is the momentum stop. Just as sporadically as the giant bounce, I'll not so seldom have my ball just stop completely, losing all ability to resist falling off the track. This is a guaranteed run killer unless I happen to be on completely zero inclined track. Just last round, my ball stopped AND teleported way off the track. These bouncing and momentum stopping glitches can only be handled so much with reflexes and controls. Most of the time, they, not your skill as a player, determine your high score, kinda taking the fun and challenge out of it. I wish that weren't the case..Version: 1.3.4
✓ Wish I could do no starsThis game isn’t fun. At first it looked like a challenging game but after playing it I realized I just waisted $2. The game has no logic. A bend comes up so you try to prepare to turn.. and you flew off the edge. Okay so maybe you are supposed to jump from one track to the other? So you fall off and aim for a track, hit it, and fly into the sky like Superman needing to use the bathroom. You only “roll” the first maybe 7 levels, the rest it just falling and praying you hit the next track before the timer runs out. ✓ Yet another "editors choice" that has left me wanting.You are a flat white ball on a procedurally generated blue road..... Against a flat white background. To turn left hit the 'left' button, to turn right hit the right button. THAT'S IT. The turn speed is far too slow, unless you are lucky in the road layout you will almost immediately fall off the road as you cannot turn as fast as the road often curves. When you do, you will be able to try and 'fly/fall' back on to a lower section of the road but as you are a white ball against a white background good luck guessing how fast you are falling/ moving forward. If you do manage to hit the road again you will invariably be travelling such an angle/ speed that you almost immediately bounce off again. At this point the game becomes a case of "How many times can I do this before the road curves in such a way that I can't make it back".You can't adjust the turn speed, there are no tilt controls... In fact there is no options menu at all. You can turn the music on and off.... That's it. It quickly becomes apparent there is little skill involved as getting a high score is based purely on how the randomly generated road is set out below you. After 45 mins of this I'm done. If you want a game that requires skill try "Duet" for something that will give you a genuine sense of achievement..Version: 1.0.6

Also, I play this game on my iPad, but I am unable to use my keyboard to control the movement of the ball. Why not??? I find it frustrating that I have to use the (occasionally unreliable) arrows on the touch screen to control the ball movement, even on my iPad. If the developer redesigns the game so that the user can tap ANYWHERE on the right or left side of the screen to control the ball’s movement, most of the problems with the use of the arrows on the touch screen would be fixed. ✓ Good idea, controls don't work wellThe idea of this game is nice and appealing, but the cone tools are awkward and sometimes non-responsive. You press on the screen, and there is no indication that your fingers are where the turn buttons are mapped. And sometimes there is a half second delay to see your input registered (sometimes not) which makes a big difference in a reflex controlled game. It is difficult to get the hang of, but (unlike one previous review suggests) it is definitely a skill-based game. I have a high-score of over two hundred and regularly score >100 to demonstrate that you can indeed learn how to get better at this game. I know it says "impossible" in the name, but it's definitely not just a whimsical name. The one time I scored more than 10 it was as much by accident as anything else. Controls are fussy, my thumbs would keep moving off the screen. Why not make it tilt steering? Definitely needs some attention to variability of difficulty as other reviewers have mentioned. With practice, you’ll find yourself gliding easily down the slopes without to much trouble, and mastering those turns suddenly becomes easy. However, the game lacks detail and has no difficulty settings. The only customisation included is the ability to change the colour of the tracks. This game is costs 5 dollars, but in reality is worth about 5 cents. There are simply so many similar games that overtake it by far. Music should change according to choice or progress or just be random (not one annoying arcade music track). Include possibilities such as a safety net to act as a life so when you accidentally fall you have the chance to bounce and resume on track or something. Do not offer these lives as in-app purchases but simply grant them to players every 100 laser gates crossed for example, to be used voluntarily and not automatically. Offer varying difficulties with a wider track for easy and a moving track for hard. Come on, do something more without ruining the game. ✓ Needs some tweaksHard to find the track because the ball blocks a major portion of the screen. Controls are sloppy. There is no reason for the virtual buttons to be so small and sensitive. Since there are only two buttons, “left” and “right”, and they’re at opposite ends of the screen, why not make the touch zones much bigger? And for that matter, why no tilt steering so we can have some nuance in how tight we turn? It is simple, so I want to forgive the game. ✓ Really needs a practice modeIt really is impossible. Like when you bounce after the second bounce you’re falling again. If it had a beginners/ practice mode I would definitely rate this game a four or five star game..Version: 1.3.4
✓ Tough but very goodThis is actually a brilliantly simplistic and challenging game that looks stunning. Objective is to get as high score as possible by travelling as far down the impossible road as possible. If you fall off you need skill and a little luck and you may be able to get back onto the road. Controls are simple as can be. You have a left button and a right button. Press left, goes left. Press right, goes right. The game is well worth the money. EDIT: The difficulty is likely to shorten the long term playability of the game. A week or so in and I barely get any higher a score (top is about 60, normally get around 30-40). Each go lasts less than a minute - which isn't very rewarding. The game may be more appealing to a wider audience if there is some mechanism to highlight progress (e.g levels and/or achievements), although can easily understand why the developer may choose not to. Strongly recommend making the difficulty more gradually progressive..Version: 1.0.2
✓ Addictive but no flowFor a game with such big holes in the gameplay (randomly generated road booting you off with no amount of skill that could save you) the penalty for death (time it takes to re-spawn) should be as close to zero as possible to achieve a fake sense of flow during the learning phase. As it stands, on runs where you inexplicably fall off due to random variance in the road become a rage-quit when they don't need to be that way. Great concept but could be better..Version: 1.2.8
✓ Far too difficultI want a refund because the game is too hard. I rarely get a score above 1. Game would be VASTLY improved by the addition of a difficulty setting that slows things down so people who have just bought the game don't lose constantly (a very frustrating user experience)..Version: 1.3.1

✓ Absolutely terribleThere’s nothing wrong with a challenge, but the challenge shouldn’t be getting use to terrible controls. Your ball almost instantly starts to bounce around like there’s no gravity. Turning is the just the biggest joke, like it would be easier to turn a tank in quicksand on Mars than to turn this like white ball of awfulness. Then, when your ball hits the road, it jolts up, taking 90% of the screen, causing you to miss the road and fail. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. ✓ Looked like a good idea but...Very simple idea - no problem there, in fact that's what appealed. Nice initial concept and graphics. But way too hard to keep on the track right from the word go. Of course staying on the track is the purpose of the game, but a bit of thought in having a graduated pace - perhaps a novice level, slower to begin or a wider, less twisty track would turn the 1 star into something much more reasonable. ✓ Great idea, not sure about executionThe idea behind the game is great in its simplicity and addictiveness, which is why I still return to it after all these years. But for a 3D game it is remarkably difficult to judge distances and where you land after jumps, making it much harder to control that it would have to be. All you need is one bump, and you have no idea which way you have to turn to get back to the track. The ball itself blocks out a large part of the screen, making it even harder to judge where you are going to land. The controls are also very clunky - the all or nothing turning seems odd given that you could enable gyroscope controls that would make the process much smoother. Sadly the developer no longer seems to develop the app any longer..Version: 1.3.4

This game desperately needs a beginners mode, it is far too fast to start off and no way to really get used to the limited control that there is. ✓ The title of the game says allA Impossible game does not always equals a fun game. There so many glaring holes in this game it would take too long to list them all. From the time it takes to respawn which infuriates the player more than anything to being booted of the track from the overly bouncy ball.
