✓ LiesI've had this game since it came out and don't get me wrong it's "ok" but the upsetting thing is that the game hasn't been updated for over a year and there's a button on the main menu saying "Coming Soon" this by now is just a lie..Version: 1.1.4
✓ It's got potential.This game could have been amazing. Quite frankly, they wasted it. Yes, yes it has no in app purchases(yet) and good music. But what they did with it is terrible. With the difficulties it's a joke, played through the game on the first 3. Easy means you will never take 1 point of hull damage, normal only means the same but your guns do a little less, not that it matters considering from the start on those two difficulties you have the shields of God for the rest of the game. On hard it is actually extremely difficult, which I like. The game takes about half an hour to complete with the smallest ship. They have many locations on the map, 25% are actually visitable, even though it prides itself on 'much content and massive map'. Yeah no. Another thing, the massive ships the size of factories shoot out this weak little children's toy of a stomp-rocket. If they fix the map, add more content, fix the combat, add a roster instead of tracking down every crew-member for commands, and maybe add a red blip where your ship is damaged, and give it a good polish overall, it will be a 10 stars game. At this point I do not suggest you to buy it, but keep an eye on it for updates..Version: 1.1.4

✓ Star Command is AwfulStar Command is awful. I stubbed my toe and I was reminded of Star Command. Actually, everything is reminding me of Star Command because I just played it for ten minutes and it was awful and I deleted it: The kink is I'm not thinking a lot about Star Command because it's awful and I deleted it because whatever, forget it, move on. It’s that I know I clocked it when it came out, so... like, apparently a year ago I was stupid enough to play it and want to finish it? Like, I know when I was a kid, I did dumb stuff. I played Elite for a month. I distinctly remember crying when I was 6 or 7 because my tamagochi died. But apparently last year, 27 years of age, I thought Star Command was something that I should finish. I'm old enough to not even finish relationships, like I just won't call a girl back after sleeping with her because whatever, we all die alone, and I needed to finish Star Command? How awful is that? ✓ Not worth your money...Star command is boring, bland, and poorly made sci-fi game. Some of the four ships you can choose from have bad texture issues that let you see the inside from the outside and when you start to upgrade your ship they will stick out like sour thumbs. All the ships are mostly empty with way too much walk room and they look really boring. The medium rooms for some reason can only hold the same amount of people as the small rooms. When you are in the long and boring ship fights the enemy seems to have an unlimited amount of soldiers to send to your ship where as your max can go up to 21. You don't have the option to teleport soldiers to the enemy ship either. The way the Health works is that your shield gets broken by a pebble and then flames engulf you ship causing damage to systems and possible death to crew members(I like this) and your shield regenerates fairly quickly. On the other hand, the enemy's ships have a huge amount of shield and hull. You can't damage particular systems on their ship and you can kill their crew members unless one of their unlimited guys go on your ship. Your ship can be crippled but theirs can't. It's not really adventurous, you are on your boring looking ship the entire game. The story is boring and predictable, there are only three systems you can visit, and the combat is just you waiting the ridiculously long cool down time for your cannons. ✓ Abandoned ShipUPDATE : I'm extremely disappointed in this product. They haven't had an update since 2013?! This is the trouble with a lot of these crowd sourced games. You get the original effort, which is usually less than what was promised and then they give up on it. I get it. Maybe they ran out of money, but they also made a lot of empty promises about what this game was going to become and now it seems to have been abandoned. Read my original review below for my original thoughts and see how excited I WAS about where this "game was going" which obviously never panned out. Bummer. ------------------------------------- I see people complaining that the game is too hard. False. I think the main issue is that the game is not built well for an iPhone screen. On iPad, I haven't found it to be too difficult to control my quad. With that said, I could see how it would be difficult on the smaller iPhone screen (although I haven't, and don't plan to try it.) The game is still really good, and I'm excited for how much these guys add to the game in the future and how it improves. I'd like to see more diplomacy and customization and building. At its current state, it's too focused on combat... Which is fun (at least on an iPad.) Well worth the download and support of a hungry and capable indie dev team..Version: 1.1.4
✓ Decent short Star Trek game.Star Command offers a nice taste of classic Star Trek. The weaponry mini-games were enjoyable, and to a certain degree, so was managing your crew. However, and I cannot stress this enough, the game is SHORT. I played through in a single evening, so if you are looking for a long game, this isn't it. Replayability is minimal, as the ship-to-ship battles are extremely simple and repetitive, offering no real strategic choices. The game is 100% linear, with some dialogue selectors to make it seem more interactive (95% of the dialogue choices are irrelevant). I'm not sure why Star Command was done in retro 8-bit chunky pixel style. It was an odd design choice, but it didn't really detract from the game. Star Command provided an evening of Trekkie entertainment for the price of a pub beer. From that standpoint, it was a good value..Version: 1.1.4

✓ This game has a lot of potential.First off, this game offers amazing retro style graphics, my only problem with this are the backgrounds, I would have liked it if everything was pixelated. The soundtrack is amazing. Feels like Startrek. The gameplay is basic and standard for an RPG, its just basic and simple, not that thats a bad thing. I don't like the fact the the ships are just still, not animations of thrusters or anything, just frozen in space with no animations. The story is simple and contains some good twists and I like that. The world looks very big and fun to explore but it has none of that, none. I would have liked it if you can beam down to planets and fight the same way aliens do when they beam to your ship, and why can't you beam to their ship? The story is short and has no difficulty, once you beat the game you can chose a ew ship, a bigger or smaller and of course, the entire story starts from the beggining just harder and with a different ship, pointless, no replay value. Why can't you just freely explore planters and go into other galaxies? You should beam down to Earth to get recruits. Please fix this game, it is fun but the annoyances are vast..Version: 1.1.4

✓ Needs more stuffReally good for about a couple of hours. You get really hooked until near the end you realise, there are no ship upgrades, no real quests and so on. ✓ Great concept but unfinishedI love the game when it works. Sadly it’s not complete and after a few hours of play I hit a wall trying to get through a battle without a crash. Others worked on the second try but I gave up on this one after 4 reloads. Scared to invest more time considering.. Hope they don’t give up either on this game or try building a fresh new one that works before release. The game introduces such an addictive system of play with incredible potential for new content. ✓ Update soonI'm not saying that this game is in any way bad,but a multiplayer would be nice, where you get to team up with other players and fight countless enemies,and players then unlock special ships that have 2 decks,or ships like the Olympus,which i thought u could get on the black hole setting. ✓ RepetitiveIn the begging of this game it was amazing but the gun system is horrible and when your in a fight your just waiting for stuff to recharge and not doing anything. Also the shield is so OP only in 2 fights was it taken away and the recharge is not a good idea or at least make the recharge take longer. This game is also super short with little to no replay ability. You need to make the fights more fun and suspenseful and change the way you attack because when I played it I got every hit almost every time. ✓ Don't buy ( wait for update)Has potential but is nowhere near completion. Almost my whole crew is lvl30 and my ship is fully upgraded and some missions are still hard since enemies are too powerful, small amount of locations available, short storyline with few side missions makes it get very boring after you have beaten it multiple times, more ship options should be available and should also have different characteristics like hull amount, shields, speed ( for dodging) and what it's for ( battle, guarding, scouting, and a medical ship). ✓ Medical glitchesThe newest update is okay. I like the new Ship designs and the choices of uniforms. I think there's a glitch where your medical crew won't heal anybody. It's super annoying especially in a battle and someone losses health to the point they can't fight anymore and that's them basically out of the game..Version: 1.2

✓ AbandonedThis was honestly one of the most fantastic games I played on my phone. The crew-focused combat kept me on my toes, music sounds great and the story is easy to follow and has a light adventurous feel. I beat all the planets that were able to be played on and I couldn't wait to see where this game was going. Unfortunately it's all but abandoned now. Not one update since 2013. It's a true shame that this game had to go to waste. ✓ Horrible micromanagementThis game has a lot of good things going for it, but it fails horribly in playability. Don't be fooled, this game is not developed enough to be enjoyable. The ship combat is extremely simplified. Maybe that's alright, considering this game seems to be more about your crew. But there are very few tools to manage your crew. especially with enemy boarding and fires breaking out, etc., you need ways to quickly manage your crew. They give you none of this. You have to individually find each crew member, and tell them what to do. To make them shoot the enemy, you need to send them to a room to change their status, and then send them out to fight. The same is true for healing others, or putting out fires or repairing. In the middle of all the action, you are forced to search the ship for each crew member, which they don't even give you a roster screen for, and then give individual commands for each. They don't even give artificial intelligence for your crew members to pursue the enemy in your ship, put out new fires as they appear, etc. This game is silly micromanagement, micromanagement, micromanagement… With none of the tools or menus you would expect to be available for you. I was terribly disappointed, especially considering how polished the game looked in their advertisements. Don't be fooled, this game is not developed enough to be enjoyable..Version: 1.1.4

✓ Where's the update?It's been more than a year since the last update for this game. From what I can gather the developers are too busy working on there new star command or the pc than for this one. If I where you I'd wait till an update or several roll in that actually brings the features promised during their kickstarter. As it stands now this is just a pretty little space sim where you can name your crew members and watch them die. There is no depth to the combat system (no targeting specific areas of the ship like in FTL etc) and the only customizable aspect of gameplay is room placement and crew/ship naming and ship selection. The game is pretty, one of the best looking pixel games on iOS, and that's it. I do not recommend you buy this until it is updated to bring more features..Version: 1.1.4
✓ No apparent supportI refuse to give them more stars than these two. The mobile updates ceased completely November of 2013 because the developers decided to tackle the PC. Updates were promised but it seems they have abandoned mobile despite the promise of an update appearing "soon". ✓ Potentially awesome but totally buggedThe developers are focusing on a pc version instead of fixing the broken aspects of this potentially awesome game. Pity, it’s a great format but just bugs out wasting all your time. In addition it’s full of game breaking exploits which, you know, should be fixed. It’s a paid game so I’m marking it down for these reasons. The devs aren’t focusing on their existing customers and I suspect the steam version will probably be just as broken. ✓ Latest update caused some issuesI'm glad you didn't abandon this game for Star Command Galaxies like people (including me) thought you did, however the latest update has caused a couple of problems. The UI is messed up. The side menu buttons are almost completely obscured, and during combat the purple bar showing what ship I'm fighting doesn't go away, meaning I can't see the other ships HP, shields, weapons and teleport power level. Mission three also bugged out after I destroyed the ship and killed all the boarders. The new ships look cool though, glad you added them. However, no new content besides that is a let down. I can't think how long it's been since the last update, when half the missions you added then ended on cliffhangers. This isn't Mass Effect Andromeda. You are not EA. Don't act like them. EDIT: Incredible. Now the last mission won't end, even after the latest update that said it was fixed. (Albeit "hopefully" fixed.).Version: 1.2.4
✓ Overhyped • Gameplay is underdevelopedThis game has potential, but it feels like an alpha version. On top of it, it is by far not the only game that stands out as a good strategy game on iOS not relying on in-app-purchases. This is not the saviour of mobile strategy games, as it is praised to be. The main problems are: 1) The gameplay is mainly: tapping the screen so the ship guns fire correctly. That’s almost the entire game! There is not much more than that. Forget about strategic balancing of resources and crew, forget about building a ship that is equipped for challenges, forget about micromanaging anything really. 2) It doesn’t live up to the developer’s boastful promises. 3) It is drastically misbalanced. Nothing that you do affects your ship strategically. Further, easy is not easy, easy is like: you heal faster than damage can be done. It is not much more fun on hard. ✓ Would be nice if an update ever came out...I have never written a review before, but in this case I feel as if I must. I bought the game because it looked like fun plus Apple recommended it. It was fun while I was playing it, but I noticed immediately just how short the story was. Well, two years later and no updates have ever been released to add more content. This seems to be a case of developers promising content to get you to buy and then running away with the profits. At this point, I cannot recommend buying this game..Version: 1.1.4
