✓ So much potential but horrid privacy postureI really wish I could use this app but requiring always on location tracking is a total non-starter..Frobitz66Version: 1.0

✓ Could not get past the privacy setting.I was not able to get past the privacy settings for this app. The developer collects quite a bit of personal information along with usage data to sell to other parties. The captcha algorithm failed several times when I tried to establish my privacy settings relating to that data. Not being able to even get past that I am deleting the app. Seems to be very poorly written and does not favor user preferences which attempt to reign in distributing personal data. If you don’t mind having all your personal data commoditized, then this could be an okay app. I, however, was never able to even experience the app core function..Wstd1mtVersion: 1.0

✓ Is it sharing private drivingHabits with companies? How does a "free" app pay for the business operations ? Is this app just another "free" driving app that is sharing peoples private driving habits with insurance companies. Common in Asia but never in America. I knoticed the app collects more information than it needs to collect. It does not need to be collecting the phone's information but it does. And I guess that private phone identification information is collected so the data is easier to give to affiliates which in turn sell it to companies. ✓ Houston Your App No Longer WorksI keep getting the “Houston we have a problem message” where it points me to a location in Settings on my iPhone where the setting it wants me to change does not exist there. It’s under privacy..SteveInWestonVersion: 1.0

✓ Doesn’t know I’m the passenger?Maybe I missed some instruction but it’s rating trips where I’m not the driver. I don’t want someone else’s driving habits scored in my app. It also counted a short walk through the neighborhood. The technology isn’t working as expected..MelindapmrVersion: 1.0

✓ PrivacyI just want to respond to a response about a review and the answer the developer gave. It was concerning privacy issues about having to have the location setting on your phone set in always on instead of while using. Here is the response: "In order to properly track your vehicle's speed and movement, AARP SafeTrip needs access to sensors in your phone that allow it to see your phone's location. We reason we ask for access to location "all the time" is so the app user doesn't have to remember to open the app and grant AARP SafeTrip location access before every trip." My response to that is, if you can build an app with this technology, cave you simply have a notification sent to the user when they are starting to use the app to turn location to always on? Seems kind of like a lame excuse to me. As for the response below, that app is continuously running in your phone detecting everywhere you go whether you are walking are driving with someone else. This is a MAJOR privacy issue. It sounds like you the developer needs to get on top of this and quit making excuses for it..Cavatti01Version: 1.0

✓ Great ConceptI really thought this was a smart app and after downloading it, creating a profile, and accepting the numerous permissions I thought I was set. Only problem was, the first two trips I was a passenger and the app treated it as if I was driving. I decided that I would change the location setting to “while using the app” but when I attempted to open it that way, the app wouldn’t open until I returned to settings and changed it back to “always”. Not much point tracking a trip as a passenger as I often use my phone in the car when I’m not driving..Mme1953Version: 1.0

✓ Helps a lotI have been using the app for about a month and a half now. It has greatly helped me improve my driving skills. The one main reason I give it three stars is because I have come across numerous areas where they have had the speed limit listed incorrectly. I have written numerous times and been found to be correct on what the speed limit actually is as opposed to what I was nicked for in the rating. i’m trying to use it as a gauge to see whether I want to activate it with my insurance company but the inaccuracy makes it difficult for me to determine..VinnieJ15Version: 1.0
