YoExtremely helpful.Version: 1.2.4

MAKE FOR IPHONE PLEASEI have this app on my ipad and it works great. But as I carry my iphone around with me everywhere else, it would be helpful if the app also worked on the iphone. Even if it wouldnt let you read documents, it could atleast show you the calander of due assignments and your marks on those assignments. A great app and a great website. just make it for iphone!!.Version: 1.2.1

Nice!Positives: Enjoy the ease of grading by fingertip! Quick grading! Easy use of features. Negative: Rubric is not on the same screen as the student paper - must go back and forth between screens for rubric grading which is a bit of a pain. That said, I still use the app for grading on the go..Version: 1.2.1

Fantastic Tool!If your school offers turnitin as a teacher tool, run, do not walk, to your IT guy and get yourself a login/password. Now. Then get this app for your iPad, because everything is soooo much easier using turnitin on the iPad than on the web. If you're school does not have turnitin, I seriously recommend that you get your principal to spring for it, THEN get the app. The last teacher tool that was this useful was Making the Grade. Worth every penny..Version: 1.2.2

It worksOn iPad the website seems to not work very well. This app saves the day and worked flawlessly for submitting my paper. Love this and will use this throughout college..Version: 2.0.0

Makes marking portable (if not a pleasure)Student assignment marking was always "dreaded" with boxes of paperwork and demands on lecturer handwritten notes. This is the first year I've used Turnitin - either as software or as an iPad app - and I've been impressed by how less onerous the process has become. Portability and convenience are a huge plus compared to deskbound marking, simplified availability of submissions and commentary enables speed of access and consistency of material. But that's looking at the physical changes Turnitin has made to marking. In terms of the app and its functionality, I've been impressed. Submissions can be listed and sorted by various criteria, and a library of preauthored comments speeds the marking process significantly. Marking is now easily shared between colleagues and amendment of lecturer feedback is tidy, flexible and convenient. The choice of feedback types might be limited at present and I'm hoping others might be introduced in due course, but everything works without issues. And it's invaluable to have information on sources and potential plagiarism so easily to hand. Overall I'd recommend the Turnitin iPad app to anyone who's not used it before. Sure there could be improvements, like flexible selection of word count information, but it's a huge timesaver and frees up access to student work..Version: 2.2.0

Yay!Turnitin on iPad truly speeds up the grading process for me! I really love this app. The bugs are gone. It isn't crashing. I didn't have to reinstall, and I didn't lose any work after updating. I am looking forward to new features, but this app makes this teacher a happy camper..Version: 1.2.1

Revised review: now four starsNew review: I moved this review from two to four stars because the customer service was wonderful. They admitted there was a bug that made the app crash, but walked me through the temporary fix. Well I would like the ability to post assignments through this app, as a grading tool it's wonderful. Old review: Testing this on both a brand-new iPad mini, and my old iPad, the app doesn't stay open for more than 20 seconds. It seems like it would be a great app and very helpful if they could keep from crashing. I would love to endorse this, but simply can't keep it open long enough to use it..Version: 1.1.1

PLEASE MAKE IT IPHONE COMPATIBLEThis is a very useful app, but would be even more useful it was compatible with my iPhone. Please update soon..Version: 1.2.4

I Need to go back to old versionInitial review:I didn't see that the update requires IOS 5.1.... How do I go back? Update: Later, deleted the ap, and re-installed...now it works. Love that I can evaluate reports without Internet connection. I would like to see this ap for my Laptop, too. 1 to 4.Version: 1.2.3

Grading LifesaverI've not had issues with the app crashing on me like others have mentioned. In fact, this app has been nothing but a grading lifesaver since I downloaded it at the beginning of this year. My junior-level English courses are now completely paperless. All outside-of-class work is to be submitted and graded on the website. The Grademarking section of the app works wonderfully. I've easily been able to create and save my own grading suggestions/comments and I plug them quickly and efficiently into my students' papers. I would say I've easily cut my essay grading time in half. And that doesn't even account for not having to lug around file folders filled with papers of all kinds. I love this app and would highly recommend it to any teacher who is looking to save themselves time on grading. It takes a few papers to get used to it, and another few to develop your Grademark entries, but it is well worth it in the end..Version: 1.1.3

Good app, but there is a glitchThis is an excellent app. I especially appreciate the ability to add voice comments. I only have a couple of suggestions and complaints: 1) I would much prefer it if when I touch and hold a word to highlight, it would highlight only that word and not the entire line. More often than not, when I want to highlight something, it’s a single word or phrase and not an entire line. 2) I don’t care for the new ability to swipe between papers. Often when I highlight something and need to adjust what’s highlighted, I will not touch precisely the right space and instead begin swiping to the next paper, losing my highlight. In an earlier review, I complained about a glitch in this app, and Turnitin responded quickly. Thanks!.Version: 3.1

Life-changingIf I were to make a pie chart of my life, a sizable slice would be labelled "Grading". Being able to both forego (really, just lessen) the never-ending stacks of paper was a godsend, but the ability to score essays straight from my iPad is a brave new world. The automatic e-rater markings would be great. Please add those to the app, Turnitin..Version: 1.2.2

Maybe better than browserI almost didn’t try this app because of the poor reviews. But after trying it, I have not had any crashes, and found the design of the app to be far easier to use and more streamlined than the browser version..Version: 3.1.8

Overall great appThis app is not for students, but it is my lifeline for teaching. I use it for every semester. The newest version is having a weird buggy thing where it does not seem to sync on the surface, but then when I go online, it is synced..Version: 1.3.0

Much Improved/Needs to be student-friendlyAs a teacher, this app is magical. I can grade my essays 10X faster, seriously. With a touch of a finger, I can put comments in, saving me tons of time. The 'misses' still need fixing: students need to be able to upload a paper / teachers need to be able to edit their comments from the app without going to the website. Overall, I cannot imagine going back to the 'old' way of grading..Version: 1.2.1

Great for teachers!I understand this app isn’t for students, but I’m a teacher and that’s what I expected. My students have laptops to turn in their papers. I’m used to using Turnitin to grade papers, but I knew I’d be offline a lot. This app allows me to download an entire class of papers - I pulled 50 plus off at a time - and grade them one by one on my iPad without being online. It’s so easy to use, especially if you’re already familiar with Turnitin (which, by the way, is a web based program that your school must purchase - although very worth the money). Then, after I grade, I just sync my papers when I’m back on wifi and now my students can see their comments. This even brought in all my unique quick marks to use within the app! The only downside to this is that the auto spelling / grammar check doesn’t work on the iPad, but small price to pay for such a great tool. I graded 8 papers the other night just waiting in the car for my kids to finish their activity. Less wasted time! Thanks Turnitin!.Version: 1.3.0

Great AppTurnitin is a great app and I usually have no trouble submitting papers, however for larger files it takes a while to submit. A great feature to add could be to dismiss comments, so you know which comments you’ve read..Version: 3.1.8

Apple penGreat product but does not, as yet, have the ability to include hand written notes using the apple pen or other stylus. Both staff and students value the ability to hand write comments in assessment items. Developers - please look into this!.Version: 2.0.0
