Why money?It costs money.Version: 7.6.5

Pretty goodNeeds a bit more work but works well in the simple task of counting days sober ... The daily motivational quotes are great !.Version: 2.2

Well made but flawedThe main problem I have with this app is that if you don’t check in and say you’re sober, it just assumes you are. It just happily ticks along congratulating you every day for your progress while you have a drink in your hand. If you don’t log in and say you kept your pledge, a safer assumption is that you haven’t..Version: 3.93

I don’t recommend this app unless you only plan to use it for a tracker, and not support.I’ve had this app since 2020. The nice thing it did was I could see other peoples stories who were dealing with similar things as me. At first, there was a problem with no trigger warnings or graphic detail or pictures, but the app dealt with that. So we were good. Then they got rid of being able to post more than once a day(unless you paid for the premium). This sucked bc I rlly needed support some days or needed to rant and I couldn’t because apparently once a day is all you need. I was able to live with this though. What took me over the edge was how they now make you pledge 5 times if you want to see other peoples posts. Personally, seeing peoples posts and being able to comment and give advice was encouraging and therapeutic for me. Now I have to wait five days straight, assuming I don’t forget a day, to see them. It’s forcing the users to make a promise most aren’t ready to keep. This type of stuff makes people feel crappy about themselves or doesn’t help them when they’re crying and just reset the clock and need to see some support. If there’s another app you can use, I recommend that..Version: 7.4.9

Issues with plus versionI purchased sober plus , two weeks into my subscription it stopped working prompting me to purchase again , I emailed support but never received a response.Version: 7.9.3

Moderation seems to be essentially nonexistentThe community using the app to stay sober from self harm has a serious moderation problem. as far as i'm aware you're meant to be eighteen to use it but i constantly see people with their ages in their names who are underage. people constantly make posts that are extremely harmful for healing, the environment on here can be pretty much identical to joining an online community that is IN FAVOUR of the things you're trying to get sober from, it's extremely disheartening, i find that the app is only useful for its timer and the pledge feature but i'm genuinely looking for another app because it's unfortunately temping to look at the community since i want to feel less alone. every time i look at the community posts i feel terrible for all of the younger people on here who should be getting a sobriety app but are just putting themselves into an environment where they'll only get more triggered..Version: 7.9.3

Social media addicts bewareIt's mostly a great app. It has a stopclock that counts each second so you can see your progress, motivational quotes for each day, and even a review function with analytics so you can record how the day was and notice patterns. The only reason that I have not given it five stars is the fact that, despite the fact that it recognises social media as an addiction, it has no option to disable access to the community (another form of social media in my opinion). It's making recovery from my social media addiction harder when it prompts me to "Share your story" or "Show some love" because that's exactly what I'm trying NOT to do. So far I haven't interacted with other users of the app, but it's getting tempting... Edit: I'd also like a way that I don't have to pledge daily in order for the app to like me. Being addicted to this app is actually starting to become a concern, something I never imagined upon downloading. (also removed another star because of this).Version: 7.3.9

No assessing your saved progress without premium on another phoneThe app is overall good and I like the layout and the daliy pledges you have to make as it helps you to reassure yourself why your staying sober, however I recently got a new phone and dislike the fact that I have to purchase premium to continue my journey for being sober as I was using my old phone. Disappointed and unsure exactly how long I’ve been sober. Still keeping up the good work though no matter what..Version: 7.4.8

Please considerThis app is totally amazing. Very well developed and thought out. Great concepts. But man oh man a subscription is just the wrong way to go. I understand the need to make money but making this a one time purchase would be a 5 star no brainer for me. In fact the free version is almost enough but I can only track 2 addictions and I have a few I would love to track. I can’t understand how paying is helping anyone with that. Some peoples addiction is even gambling so paying to get help doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. I would totally pay $10 flat out for this app and I bet a lot of the 1 star reviews would as well. If you have to throw some ads in the social feed I could handle that too. But a subscription just feels like a money grab to me in the hopes people will forget about it. Super bummed there isn’t a flat out fee and I’ll have my eye out for other apps to help me track my other addictions this app won’t let me track..Version: 7.6.3

MehIts a fine app hoenstly it doesnt do much except to try motivate you but thats not the issue. My issue is i got permanently banned for posting on an underage account, i dont know what thats about bc i havent posted anything in months and not to mention this has never happened until now. It is one of the ways i am able to connect or even make friends as i do not know how to talk to others, now i want to understand why i am banned so please fix this and make it clear on what happened instead of giving me a pathetic little excuse/warning of what happened, i would love it if in the near future you actually consider giving a full explanation. I am very disappointed in this app and its abilities..Version: 7.7.3

BannedGot banned for being underage? never mentioned anything about my age ever..Version: 7.9.1

It won’t let me into the appSo I’ve downloaded this app to help stop my self harm and the app had been working perfectly, I’ve been clean for about 4 months and that’s how long I’ve had the app downloaded, and today I tried going into the app and it won’t let me. When I click on the app, it just sends me straight back to my home screen, no matter how many times I try going into the app it only leads me back to my home screen. Please help fix this!.Version: 7.1.5

SupportThis app was great, it had a community for about any addiction, it’s nice helps me keep track, one thing im not understanding is the banned for underage? i understand most of it but i’m quite upset because what about the teen who are struggling and can’t speak up and want to talk to others like them, this app was perfect for that, unfortunately it banned ppl under18 maybe for legal reasons but im just thinking about all the kids to teens to even young adults who are struggling and now this app is just a calendar to them instead of a safe space..Version: 7.7.5

Fantastic app that won’t transfer data to new deviceI really really relied on this app. And now that I have a new phone and don’t pay for the Premium app, my data is non transferable. Will stop recommending and have now deleted..Version: 7.8.8

Great app but DO NOT enter community boardThe app itself is really great, super motivating and helpful such an awesome premise that really holds you accountable and gives you a sense of achievement. My issue is the community board. When i first gained access to this board i thought it would be people supporting each other and talking about their progress - however every single message i saw was people talking about the details of their relapse, why they hate themselves, how they plan to commit and signing off as they say they’re about to commit. Incredibly triggering stuff. I understand having a space to vent is incredibly important but this was over the top and clearly there is no moderation. At the very least there should be filters for these kinds of posts so they’re not the first things you see upon swiping. People outlining sh and death methods should not be allowed to remain up on the community board, it is causing more people to relapse. knowing countless of these messages are public just a swipe away on the app has really sullied my experience and makes me fear for the well-being of other users. i do genuinely recommend this app but please please please do not enter the community board if you’re in a fragile mental state..Version: 7.4.6

No widget without subscriptionThis app has been recommended to me by quite a few people, so i figured i would give it a shot. so far, i’m liking it. i like being able to see my progress as a reminder that i’ve made it, even if it is only a few days. the only thing i wish was different, is i wish we didn’t have to pay to be able to put the widget on the home screen. for me, it would make it a lot easier cause i wouldn’t have to always unlock my phone or even search for the app. i can swipe to where the widget would be quite quickly and then continue going about my day, cause sometimes i just need that little reminder. i hope the developers would consider this in future updates, cause it would definitely make this app a lot more convenient, especially for people constantly on the move.Version: 7.0.4

Problems with App Protection and the Community BoardI just checked out the community for the first time and it was shocking. I get that it’s a place to vent but other people can see the stuff you pay on there. I don’t want to see people complaining about how much they want to hurt themselves and easier ways to do it. I’m trying my absolute best not to and all they talk about is how much they want to and how much they do it. The producers should really crack down on it more or at least make it clear that it shouldn’t be a place for sharing easier ways to harm yourself but a place to spread motivation. I also HATE how you have to pay for the app to be password protected. I understand that people have to pay for some things so the company can make a profit but it’s completely counter intuitive to their mission. The app not being password protected, and then someone finding out your addiction can be so harmful. I love how this app gives me daily motivation to keep going but they should really work on the smaller stuff that will make this app so much better..Version: 7.7.1

Great But…The app itself is great but the community is awful. So many comments are negative and talking about suicide non stop. It’s rather depressing. Great app but steer clear of the community if you are trying to stay positive..Version: 7.2.0

Being sober need not be an issue!I am currently just ‘ getting on with it!’ & not really thinking about drinking so that the reminders for me on the app are reminding me of something that I don’t actually need reminding about! They are making an issue for me that atm isn’t being an issue! It’s not helping me personally to make a point of remembering & so infiltrating an issue that isn’t currently an issue! Focusing on new patterns of self help, nutrition, prayer, the sunshine & birds & not giving ‘ head space’ to thoughts of alcohol is far more beneficial for me right now..Version: 7.3.0

Frustrating ExperienceAs someone who is trying to recover this app helps with the basics. And for its basic features, I would give it a 5-star rating. Yet the community section is quite concerning. A lot of these people are children and it’s just frustrating seeing them talk about vaping and self-harm etc. Not only that but a lot of the stories are very attention-seeking and made up? I mean I understand things are rough at home. But going onto an app where adults are discussing sobriety and their journey. It’s not a child-safe environment. There should be an age restriction. Or some way of monitoring how many children genuinely use the app. It’s scary how they treat it like Instagram or a regular social media app, it’s not TikTok. It’s a sobriety app. I don't know if parents stopped checking children's phones to see their child complaining about how their $50 cotton candy vape died.....but maybe they should start checking again because It's something else..Version: 7.2.7

Groups need a lot of workI would rate it higher but I find the group feature to Have some really big issues. The first being that the general section to type messages to the group is always flooded with notifications of different people’s milestones, resets, commits for the day, etc. Sure, you can adjust what notifications you see but many are on by default and most people probably don’t even know you can. The problem with this flood of notifications is that actual discussion and support between members is usually dead because you could type a message and it may be buried within just a few hours and nobody sees it. My group came to the point of almost nobody even bothering to talk with each other because of this. The solution would be for notification to be in a completely separate tab in the group, and for the chat to be for chat and that’s it. There also needs to be a way to see what a group is basically about if you get sent an invite. Currently there is no way to know you just accept or decline. Should be like a page you can get some general info on the group before you accept or deny.Version: 7.7.9

Toxic community, better chance of recovering without this appI started using this app when i was 11, since i was struggling a lot with self harm. At first glance, it was a great app with a caring community and a way to track how long you were clean for, but instead of helping me get away from my struggle, it pushed me deeper into it. Because when you reset the timer, you’d get tons of caring replies to your posts, and that kind of attention is addicting. It’s depressing scrolling through all of the posts on the community tab too, since most of them are people putting all their issues out onto the internet and half expecting people to fix them for them. Self harm is already a competitive thing thanks to social media, but this app makes it worse. If you genuinely want to get better, i suggest using some free anonymous counselling websites, such as Kooth, where instead of sharing with the world about how bad you’re feeling, you can talk it out with a professional and learn new coping strategies. This app is unhealthy, addicting, and anti-recovery..Version: 7.4.5

Banned from the communityI love the app. It helps me a lot, but so does the community of people on there; they have the same-ish issues as me but i cant access it because im banned for being underaged? But there are so many people on there who are also underaged and not banned. It’s honestly ridiculous that there has to be an age restriction for this app even though people of any ages struggle with addictions and not just people over 17. Im literally 14 and struggling with a self harm addiction and i cant get help and find people on the community section because im banned. Sorry but it doesnt make sense to me and its really frustrated me that i cant share my experiences and see others and give them support! All because I’m underaged!.Version: 7.7.5

Need a refundCancelled the free trial because didn’t really catch my attention ,but somehow still got charged the 69.99 please really need the refund as I don’t have the money to pay for app...Version: 7.8.6

Banned for posting positivity.POV u get permanently banned for being 15 yrs old when you’ve had the same account for three years. This sucked the positivity out of me. If anybody connected to the I am sober management sees this, I’m not even asking to be unbanned, I’m just disappointed. People need this app. People need the connections. I’m upset to say the least. There are 10 yr olds posting about their sobriety for a vast amount of the topics. That is obviously hard and disappointing but why would you not support them? Let them have a community and safety? Rude. Great app but bad management:).Version: 7.8.5

Can’t reset start dateFix it please..Version: 4.0

Privacy?! Shows "I am Sober" on Lock ScreenI realize that my notifications that will help me stay on track so that I am using a recovery app to anybody that looks at my phone..Version: 7.9.1

Toxic appHonestly this app just makes me feel guilty for self harming. let urself live. if you relapse, just be like oh ok and move on. it’s nothing to be ashamed of and this app quite literally makes you feel that way..Version: 6.3.4

Okay (:A pretty good app. Would have been good to have some encouraging quotes and would be better if it wasn't limited to alcoholism.Version: 1.8

Community tab ACTIVELY DETRIMENTAL to sobrietyAn app to track sobriety for anything is a great and helpful tool. but the social aspect of this app is ACTIVELY DETRIMENTAL. no one on day 0 should be reading other people’s depressing day 0 posts, and yet that is exactly what you are drawn to do. this is the case for any addiction. probably the worst, though, is self harm. people post very, very dark things on day 0. the LAST THING someone who’s just hurt themselves needs to see is the types of things people post in the self harm community. it’s not only a problem in day 0, either- any of the milestones have some really dark things posted which someone struggling with self harm really shouldn’t be reading. who in the world thought it was a good idea to take a bunch of people struggling with depression, suicidal thoughts, etc. and have them interact with only each other, relatively unmonitored?! i cannot restate how awful this would be for someone still trying to go sober..Version: 7.0.7

NEEDS A START AND STOP OPTION!To be honest! I found it infuriating sometimes, when i read people talking about, how drinking two glasses of wine a night, and shouting at their partner etc - this was alcoholism. That’s a drinking problem! Not alcoholism. I couldn’t relate to any of what I’d read people writing. It also doesn’t allow you to say what you want. What you type has to be cleared in-case it’s “negative” that’s ridiculous. Talking about sorrow etc is the very reason most are addicted too things. They’re stuck in their minds, alone! They need to get the food and bad out of their heads. Mostly I found it’s used by Americans; using it as an almost dating site. The “motivation” is ridiculous! Giving you “stay positive” messages that are entirely pointless and meaningless. The app needs something that stops the clock counting when you reset it after relapsing. It just automatically starts counting sober days again immediately after resetting. So if you start drinking or using whatever on day x. And reset it, it will start counting you as sober immediately afterwards. It should only count days when you specifically hit a start date. Basically a start and stop option, count the days from when you start, until you hit stop. Store those days, then restart counting when you hit start again..Version: 4.3

?I got banned permanently for being ‘underage’ when I’m literally old enough..Version: 7.7.5

5 étoilesCette application aide beaucoup de gens, elle sauve des personnes. Merci de votre aide..Version: 6.2.6

I don’t understand what I am paying for?I downloaded this App thinking it would give me Much more then just seeing the amount of days I have been sober for. I can use a calendar for that. It doesn’t give you any kind of motivational anything. Other Apps tell you exactly what is going on with your body after 5 days of not drinking, for example how your liver is healing, your Brain fog ETC. The other Apps also have courses you can do and much more . I am very confused what I am paying for and why there are so many people saying this is such a great App when it literally tells you nothing ..Version: 7.5.0

Thank youThis is helping a lot like a lot thank you I haven’t cut since a week ago it’s nice I’ve been at my lowest a lot but I didn’t do it because I know I’m not alone :).Version: 7.0.5

Depends on the personAs much as I am sure that this has benefited many. It has not been of benefit to me in the slightest. It was a constant reminder of my skin picking and only caused me to develop more insecurities and addictions. It introduced me to hair plucking. The notifications aren’t helpful constantly letting you know. And the intense guilt you feel if you’ve relapsed is awful. As i mentioned before it really depends on the person, you may have an ambitious drive to get out of the habit and succeed or you may also have an ambitious drive to get out of the habit and fall into a deeper spiral. It really depends. I wish all those wanting a good result, good luck..Version: 7.4.8

A good app with problemsI’m on day 7. My main issue with the app is the trolls that appear within the chat section. I’m not sure getting a bunch of addicts to complain at each other is really motivating, and I can’t turn that off. The rest of the app I find really useful. Putting into words the way I feel about addiction and being reminded of this is really good. Also, reaching milestones and knowing how far I’ve come is important. But yeah. Them trolls. You need to be able to turn them off.Version: 7.5.0

It's okIt's ok but it's a bit hard to navigate around certain screens. It's good though..Version: 2.2

Its ok butI like pretty much everything about this app its nice to see my progress however i think its really unfair to have the lock be subscription only because my parents don’t know about what progress i’m recording and they sometimes search my phone so have pretty much free access to it. on the app they suggest signing out when you’re not using it but my phone automatically signs in with the saved password and i cant not have a saved password because i barely remember anything and writing it down would get found out so the app is pretty much useless because i can’t update the progress count in case it’ll be seen. i know they need to make money but they have tons of other premium functions, the price of the subscription wouldn't have to change if they made the lock free. There’s no way this will change so i'm having to delete the app even though i like it because i can’t update anything..Version: 7.5.4
