✓ DisappointingI thought this was going to allow me to easily send dashcam videos from my PC’s Garmin GDCPlayer to my phone. Even a short video is too massive to move by conventional means (12 second clip is 11.5MB). However, this app only interacts directly with a limited number of wi-fi compatible dashcams (which mine isn’t). ✓ It does what it says, but could do more!Having recently purchased the Virb Elite, I downloaded this app for my iPad & iPhone. The iPad & iPhone connect seamlessly once you’ve configured WiFi on the Virb. This app allows you to easily change the Virbs configuration. Live view is quite impressive in terms of lag, with the video lagging by about 1 second. In my opinion Garmin could make some real improvements to the App by introducing the following: 1) The ability to actually take photos whilst in Live View, the reason for this is because it’s actually quite difficult to take them via the camera itself, as the bottom is side mounted on the camera and you introduce the risk of shake every time you press it. 2) The ability to view recorded images and video 3) Showing the battery life during Live View/Recording 4) Showing the wording “video recording time left" or similar , whilst it show a time in video mode, you could mistaken this for the battery life remaining. That said a good starter app from Garmin.Version: 1.2

So you have to restart camera, which means reconnecting to camera WiFi, reconnecting camera and guess what.......... “wake camera”........ camera not responding, please restart camera......... I've found that you keep having to turn wifi on via the camera itself and then have to search for it in your phone wifi settings to sync, rather than it auto syncing (which is a bit annoying). Also a bit of a shame that, once synced, you lose a lot of the option settings on the camera itself as they can then only be adjusted via the app... All except playback which disappears from both! I got a dash cam for a few reasons, unfortunately 2 of those reasons are not to create an interactive 360 degrees 4k immersive experience or choose angles to direct a hyperframe 1080p masterpiece. Never have this issue with gopro. Changed WiFi settings so virb connected to router, much better way to transfer from camera. New issue today. ✓ Horrible appThe app has many bugs and issues. Unresponsive when connected to dashcam WiFi, extremely long buffer times when scrolling through a video, video lists don’t pop up until I restart the app a few times etc. If for you an important factor in choosing a dashcam is its connectivity with a mobile device it’s probably better to look somewhere else, however the dashcam itself is amazing as I’ve had mine, version 55, for about a year now. It’s sad that garmin has such awesome hardware but with mobile software that it does not do it justice. PS: what company updates nowadays their app only at a rate of twice a year ???.Version: 4.3.2

✓ Absolute trashI used to be able to download nice and clear videos to my phone from my dash cam, then garmin came out with an upgrade for the camera that was supposed to make things run faster. Yeah it did, but at the cost of getting grainy renders with crappy resolution. Now the app, new update they took the video editing tool, so I have to render a whole 4-6 hour video so I can download it to my phone and use another app to crop the video. ✓ Footage is grainyOk so with garmin 45 downloading at “highest quality” I see grainy footage.. I can tell it’s down scaling this footage because it’s rendering something. ✓ Terrible in every way. Come on Garmin you are better than this.Hi I am using a Garmin ultra 30 camera and the device itself is pretty good. It has a small touchscreen on the rear but when I mount it in my car on the rear screen I can’t see the touchscreen so I need to link it to my phone on my tablet. Firstly the app defaults to the VIRB 360 even though I’ve used the Ultra 30 connection instructions and I don’t seem to be able to change this. Surely you should be able to specify the device type. The few times I’ve managed to get it to connect it takes 10 seconds to refresh the screen and is unbearably slow for video, better for photos but I never use this for photos and I am sure few do. If the phone goes into standby I lose the connection and have to restart the app. The WiFi connection is really poor. I can’t view the videos on my phone as I need to live my life and the time it takes to transfer them is crazy. It’s a HUGE disappointment for a company like Garmin to even release this flaky poor app. It’s a go pro for me next time. The camera is good, but no better than many others, it’s the software that really adds the value. Come on Garmin....Version: 4.4.10

Wifi only seems to work for short periods then loses connection requiring you to power off the camera completely, turn it back on and connect again, and again, and again... ✓ Works okI’m using this app in conjunction with a Garmin dashcam 45 and I am able to view videos thru the app on my phone just fine (iPhone X). The only negative aspect I’ve experienced is that the times listed under each thumbnail are an hour off from the actual time the video was started.. even tho the video times are listed correctly when viewing thru the camera itself. ✓ Good hardware, super weak appI have dashcam45, the dashcam itself is amazing, perfect quality hardware, verry good quality videos in day and night. But when it’s time to connect it to phone, the nightmare begins... first it shows that you have 0 unsaved videos, then after few clicks in app it appears! Then you want to watch, you open the video, tilt your phone than good luck to go back! After upgrade my phone to iPhone X, Some buttons on top left side get stucked behind the clock and you can not click on it... after 3 years of use, it is same, no fixing updates....Version: 4.3.1
