One Minute Changes for Negative User Reviews

1 tiny fix = 5 starsI want to love this app. I'm following Justin's beginner course, so this is great! Except... Every time I practice, I have to change my device's settings to keep it from going into standby. It would be nice if there was a big button right smack in the middle labeled "keep screen from turning off" or at least let the timer keep running in the background. Either one of these features (or both) would earn this great tool an immediate 5 stars. I love the app, especially for free (thanks!), but with having to change my device's settings every time I practice, and then back afterwards, I just can't give it a higher rating yet..Version: 1.0

Good idea, poor toolCan’t tell when to stop! Timer sounds need to be volume adjustable and selectable..Version: 2.00

Doesn't workIt doesn't keep track of the chords played. It just counts seconds. My timer can do that..Version: 1.0

Bit disappointedThe minute count down stops if phone goes into standby mode, keep waiting for the alarm to go of to say I've completed 1 minute but it never happens! And like others who are disappointed it doesn't auto count your chords - which I would be alright with if the timer worked. So basically for me all it does is randomly select the chords to change between - I don't really need an app for that! Love Justin guitar stuff usually so a bit disappointed :(.Version: 1.0

Disappointing app.I downloaded this thinking that it would count and record the number of chord changes in a minute. It actually does neither. You have to count the changes yourself and all it records is a high score. I don't really want to know what my high score is but to track my progress over time..Version: 1.0

Needs improvementUseful but can’t delete chords and can’t change chord names (bug?!).Version: 2.18

Where's the Score?I thought this was going to count the changes and give me a "score" for the minute? It is not for me? Anyone else not getting that?.Version: 1.0

Audible Timer NeededIt would be great if there was an audible signal when time is up. Also having the app use the mic to count would be great..Version: 2.25

Needs more chord choicesWould be much better if app included all chords in major and minor scales plus 7th chord voicings..Version: 2.00

Not quite enough data savedPrior to using the app, I had been using a little notebook. The nice thing about the notebook is that I have the dates and the cords that I have played, and so I can see my progress, me getting faster over time. The random selection of cords is useful, however, the data saved appears to only be the fastest change for any pair-- not quite enough to motivate IMO. I will likely keep using this for the timer and the random selection, however checking my scores is going back into the notebook..Version: 1.0

Good ideaI like the concept but The app doesn't access my phone's microphone so scoring doesn't work..Version: 1.0

Almost perfect EDITedWorks great on iphone, no sounds/buzzer on ipad. Still love it tho EDITED: down to 2 stars… love justin and love this app EXCEPT random chords aint really random so unless you add/subtract chord lineup, get same sequence everytime. undermines the method. wouldn’t be big deal, but I’ve asked mute times for this simple fix to no avail..Version: 1.0

It's great, but...I think Justin is brilliant! What a lovely bloke... Unfortunately the app doesn't work with the microphone of my iPad, and so that lets it down..Version: 1.0

ConfusedI thought it would pick up a chord as I played and count keeping score and let me know when I hit a good one. I can count to a timer myself without needing to buy an app..Version: 1.0

Very handy, but needs minor improvementsAs a beginner, I found one minute changes to be an excellent practice method. Awkwardly setting a timer on my iPhone, and recording my results on paper whilst holding a guitar was discouraging me from wanting to practice. This app is a great way to time the practice, and capture progress! To earn 5 stars, it needs many minor improvements, such as larger menu buttons, move "Save/Next" button away from the number input to avoid accidental skipping past input, scroll wheel or numeric input for results instead of tap and hold for high scores, larger countdown timer, tap on current chords to bring up the two relevant chord charts, improved graphics for chord charts, relevant video demonstration for each chord to play within the app, link to other video lessons, in app purchase of products, progress over time graph (e.g. Total number of chord changes per practice day, individual chord change graphs), feedback on completion such as "New personal best! 4 changes more than ever for this combo!" or "6 changes above your average. We'll done!" accompanied by a progress graph for the chord changes just completed, optional user profile login on open if more than one user has been added, scores saved to Game Center, and optional practice reminder notifications at a set time. All these suggestions are minor, but could make a great app even more brilliant!.Version: 1.0

Counter neededThis app has a lot of potential. I feel it needs to keep count for the guitar player using the Ipad's mic. If it's supposed to, forgive me..Version: 1.0

Not perfected yetLove Justin and his beginner course, but this app needs some tweaks. I've selected the 8 cords I know and have used the app for three days, and yet there are some combos that have no score because they haven't been selected in the random mode. Wish there was a way to manually select the cord combos so that I could at least get a baseline score. I like the concept of the app, but it needs some changes to be more useful..Version: 1.0

Really? It’s just a fancy timer and nothing special about it. You still have to count the changes by yourself. Not recommended..Version: 2.18

Repeats the same changesRepeats the same changes over and over and never really gets to the harder stuff like F, Bm and changes with them..Version: 2.25

UselessScreensaver comes on and stops app before the minute is up.Version: 1.0

No auto countCome on Justin, you do some good stuff but this is not worth buying. I was expecting an auto count on whether I hit a clean chord. But to have to count the score yourself and add it into the box. I have a stopwatch and pen and paper which is just as good and cheaper!.Version: 1.0

Not an iPad app, only works in portrait12.9 inch iPad is orientated to work in landscape. This app only works in portrait mode. Can’t use..Version: 2.25

Doesn’t count changesPlayed a few dozen in a minute and counted zero. Yes, I played the right chords..Version: 2.18

Glitchy but usefulThere are problems with adding and editing chords, and the interface is not very well designed. But you get what you pay for..Version: 2.25

Microphone doesn't work so no scoringNice idea (and I like his other apps), and it's helped me with my chords. But the microphone doesn't work on my iPad or iPhone. Therefore no scores, therefore I don't know which chords "need work"..Version: 1.0

No scoresApp works well for mixing up chords but for some reason I can't input scores?? :(.Version: 1.0

I can’t figure it out.It does not count the chord changes..Version: 2.18

Great app refresh but quite buggyI LOVED the last version of this app. It has really helped me and is part of my daily practice routine. I was stoked to see a refresh and I love the new user interface and the way you select chords. The only thing I've noticed is that I think it's not saving my score unless I push the play button after entering the score. If I don't push the play and only push next, it doesn't save my best score for the chord combo. Also it would be great if you could hold the plus down to increment the score instead of many taps. So - save score when pushing next or play - Hold plus and minus buttons to increase or decrease score - fix the "best" counter so it shows the best score for the chord pair. - The start and stop sounds are really soft even when my phone is on max volume. Would be great with a bit more volume. (I now upgraded to iOS 11.1 on iPhone 6s and have no sound) Also write your scores down before you upgrade to this version as mine were lost during upgrade. Great update guys! Thank you Justin and team. (This really isn't a bad review - I love this app. I just hope it will be as reliable as the previous version)..Version: 2.00

No longer worksNot updated to 64 bit, so will not run on iOS 11 👎👎.Version: 1.0

Looked everywhere no androidReally hate android but needed to find a dl and I guess there is none. Sad.Version: 2.25

Needs some bugs fixed (new version)I just upgraded to the new version and am not totally happy. First, it erased all of my prior scores and selected chords which is annoying, but I'll live. Second, the countdown and time-up alert sounds are waaaay too quiet now and it's almost impossible to hear them over my playing - even with the amp at fairly low volume. You had a volume slider before and if anything they were too loud, but that was far better than now. Please fix this. Thirdly, the score increase and decrease buttons don't auto count when you hold them anymore, now you have to hit them once for every count which is totally tedious. This needs fixed too. Lastly, the best score display is tiny. Why can't it just show in the score box like before? All minor things that can be addressed, but considering how much I use this app they really are annoying. Otherwise, this app has been amazingly handy and helpful. I hope to see it return to its former solid self. Thanks!.Version: 2.00

Good but needs some workNo way to reset “best score” counter to zero so that one can start over; noticed the developers who quickly responded only to say its true and they would put it “on the list” to fix!.Version: 2.18

Update better yet much worst.Stable app but a pain to record my score, the developer has done nothing to correct this major flaw despite being told the day after the update happened, very poor support and product testing..Version: 2.00

One Minute ChangesI wish it would display horizontally as well as vertically. I thought it was suppose to count the number of changes too..Version: 1.0

Does not scoreThis app is only a timer for me. It does not give me a score. Very disappointed..Version: 1.0

Annoying bugs but useful appThis app is great for keeping track of chord changes, but the interface isn’t very intuitive, and if you try to tag a chord the writing is invisible. Also, if you want to see your lowest chord scores, it includes those with 0 changes if you haven’t practiced that chord. But still a very useful app. ALSO: it would be great to add a feature of you could see your progress over time by dates. It would be very motivating if you have 20 changes and get up to 40 in a few weeks!.Version: 2.25
