However the rating reflects the disappointment as was expecting significantly improved content, content recycled from original and slight improved graphics on iPad 2. ✓ WoodstockLike Trainz2, but miss the map view from the original. I thought I might re-load the app in case a re-load returned with this missing view. All this did was to remove one of the in-app purchases I had previously bought. Not pleased with this and now need to re-purchase to get it back. ✓ Major disappointment.This game concept is one of the best I have found. The detail is amazing. However, this game is really flakey. It seems that my game has been seriously corrupted. Had much correspondence with Apple and NV3 games and both refused to fix it. NV3 games says they can’t because they can’t see where the problem is. There are so many things like unexpected quits, scenery that disappears, cars that decouple themselves and many other things. This game is hard enough but if you add in all the malfunctions it becomes nearly impossible..Version: 1.0.4
✓ BEST GAME EVER! One problemThis is the best game ever! I love trains and if you do you should so get this!!! I love how you can make your own route and drive cool sessions. But there’s a problem now. There used to be all sorts of DLC and it was really cool! New routes and sessions came and so did tons of new trains. But then y’all stopped. Ever since then there (about six or seven months ago maybe) has been ONE NEW ROUTE (Toronto Rail Lands) THATS IT! And though there have been sessions, nothing really exciting has come out since the Pennsylvania T1 Steam. Then there’s the Class 88 and 68. There have been about 30 or so sessions with those 2 locos. Also, other sessions, they’ve used trains that are already there. It’s just getting boring. Please come out with more trains and routes! On the other hand, it’s a great game! And I recommend getting it! Try some KCS equipment and more NS. An Amtrak baggage car and some Amfleets would be nice to. Thank you!.Version: 1.0.4

✓ AMAZING for PC let alone iPadThe game engine in use seems solid to me, the content i've seen so far is great. I love trains but i find the train set and train sim genre often lacking and or boring.... but this one keeps dragging me back. see the graphics are great but usually running the trains is wanting. This TRAINZ system seems to do the physics in a believable manner ... taking the sheer size of these machines into account. I think you will love this model railroad eske real life simulation. its like a model railroad to me in its looks a little... and its the computer thing and i love it.... but this seems to be simulating full size trains... not the actual miniatures... so... expect bassy rumbling diesals and grumpy steam locomotives... they made the switches, controls, and viewing, camera angles and moving the cam pretty darn good. i do wish the user interface bar to get the decoupler button didnt hide the throttle... does the same naturally trying to get to the horn. just annoying or tricky trying to honk a horn near a road crossing when also regulating speed... you cant do both at the same time... but believe me... they did so much awesome".. they are allowed many goofs i figure.... hopefully not so much as to interfere with the gaming hahaha ENJOY.Version: 1.0.4

✓ 3 Additions I would like.So far I love to game, a few bugs here and there but overall a great game. I would appreciate if y’all or you could add more American freights. Also another good idea is to customize the amount of freight cars and locomotives you have. My last idea is to make it slightly easier to derail in ‘realistic mode’, mainly because I could go 50 mph around a curve and survive and I could hit a train head on going 50 mph and it just latches on unless you are going like 90. ✓ Great game but needs a couple fixesI’ve been a long trainz fan for years but in this game sometimes when I place a train, I’m not able to drive it I’m not sure if that’s because I don’t have a driver or for another reason (this also affects me in the sequel). Also sometimes said, train just disappears and any other train that touches it also disappears but it’s still there just you can’t drive it. ✓ Almost as good as the real deal...Have enjoyed playing with trains since I was a young boy. I once lived near a set of railroad tracks in a small town named Bradford, in Ohio. Had lots of steam engines go rumbling thru our town as diesel locomotives weren’t developed at that time and put to use. Steam engines were the name of the game back in 1947. I asked Santa, one year, for an electric train, for Christmas. He granted my wish and Boy was I a happy kid. It was a Lionel (diesel) freight train. (Had the three rail track). It had an oval track that would just fit on a 4x8 sheet of ply wood. That was my first electric train. When I got a bit older I begin noticing the HO scale trains. That was the right size for me. Not too big to take up a lot of room nor too little to be able to play with. In time I became a fan of the HO scale. To date I have numerous rail cars and track, plus a couple of engines but no place to try and set any of it up due to lack of space, (am retired now with plenty of time to take up railroading but no room to set it up). So, I play Train Driver on my I pad, some times for hours, which is good enough for me. I can create different types of trains, to suit my fancy. It’s the best I can do, for now. ✓ Core game is very good. Recent downloadable content bad.I'm changing my review to 3 stars. While the core game is great, the last 3 downloadable content is bad. Seems like they don't care about this sim any longer. There are problems with their Downloadable Content. Apparently they are releasing and charging for DLC without developing it fully or testing. DLC Steel Hauler won't install. Wasted money. Blue Comet DLC has no Blue Comet. Wasted money. Coal Run Part 1 is impossible to complete in the allotted time. Up To The Mountains Part 2 DLC won't load. This has gone from a serious simulation to one that is very arcade-like. ✓ Few questions..Trainz 2 is an awesome game. You’re able to create your own routes and drive on them using an assortment of trains, either free or bought from the shop. Plus, there’s many routes available which feature settings in the US, UK, France, Germany and Spain. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because some maps don’t load anymore, like Rosworth Vale. It just crashes whenever I try and do it. I do have one question though: Will the DLC we have bought in Trainz 2 be transferable to Trainz 3, or will we have to buy it all again?.Version: 1.0.6
✓ I love this game to death! But there are some suggestions...I was thinking that there could be some new steam engines to the game. So, I thought of not one, not two, but three really cool steam engines to suggest for to be added in the game! The first suggestion is an LBSC E2 Class Tank Engine. I liked them a lot, but was sad that they were all scrapped. So that is a big suggestion of mine. The next suggestion is an LMS Black 5 Tender Engine. They’re very unique in my opinion because of their combination of two different engines. And the fact that they were experimental too. They also are very strong when it comes to goods trains. So I would like to see this one too. The last suggestion of mine is an Avonside 0-4-0ST Saddle Tank Engine. These engines were primarily shunters, so they didn’t often go out along the rails. But they were very good working engines, so I think this would be nice to add. Well, that’s all my suggestions. ✓ Quite GoodI play Train Sim World 2020 and find this to be a nice alternative when I’m away from home. There are a few issues with drawing tracks on my iPad Pro as it has white coloring around and where the track should be. It finally paints the sections of track as I get very near. I’m not a train driver in real life so I can’t speak to the realism of the braking, but it does seem to take a bit longer to shut down than TSW2020. It should just be that the physics here are more realistic, but I have no way to really know. I just adjust depending on which sim I’m playing. I would like to see what the next speed limit will be ahead of time. You’ve done a pretty good job of letting me know I’m running too fast for the upcoming limit, but it would be nice to know exactly at what speed I should be before I get there. It’s amazing to think that evolution of iPad and iPhone games has really paid off. Okay so to the problem part.. it’s not very “big” I would say, more “tiny” but it the meshes on how they have painted on number for the trains as well as the meshes sometimes being smudged on some trains. Worst defender on this: The Canadian Trains. Yeaaa... not surprising for daily players of this game but it’s true... there’s a mesh on an SD40-2 that’s smudged and has painted on numbers. ✓ A train lovers app!If you enjoy the old train sets and the setup you will like Trainz. Easy to learn. Even gives a nice tutorial to help you along but if you have knowledge of trains and how they operate it is a breeze to learn. This is not just a sit back and drive but there are missions to accomplish with scoring or you can just free drive if you like. There are paid items but not absolutely necessary to enjoy Trainz. Very expandable. Create your own routes if you like. There are online services as well to help you and some free things too. Try it you will like. Nice job developers! ✓ Great game. But minor bug.I got this about a month ago & have checked out a lot of the features. There is great gameplay & it gives you a sense of running a model railway. There is a lot of inexpensive DLC (the most YOU will have to pay is US$1.99). There are so many varieties of locos & routes. Now on to the bug: when I decided to improve the default free drive session I was able to get all the locos working. But when I added even more trains I was unable to drive any of them. It’s missing a few Railroads like NS, KCS, and AMTRAK one-story Coaches, and the GS-4 #4449 is only in AFT (American Freedom Train) Colors. But I have one MAJOR PROBLEM. Randomly, sometime the app will get stuck on the loading screen FOR HOURS. I have had to delete, and re-install the game 4 time now. This is bad, because all my world that I have ever created are now gone :(. The subject "Trains" was hard, I spent lots of time and money looking for a great train driving app. Barely any luck! Being the most expensive, I didn't get it first. And being honest it didn't look vary good. Well, turns out this would have to be the best one on the App Store! Some of the graphics are a little wonky, but I look FAR past that. The app has great potential! One thing is that I think there should be more trains. If you do add some more trains consider adding, Norfolk Southern, BNSF, CSX, an Amtrack. ✓ Good but needs a full upgrade and the routes in the app require a full overhaulAlthough I’m quite impressed with the Trainz Simulator 2 for iPad, but it could with a full upgrade in all areas so that it becomes just as good as Microsoft Train Simulator, by doing away with all the fabricated ‘tests’ and also making all the attainable add-ons all included into the app, so that I would have the freedom to choose any train for any of the revised routes. But the one major issue that I’ve observed whilst playing any of the ‘Free Drive’ segments of any of the current routes in this game is that they have all been totally fabricated into one large loop that doesn’t go anywhere!!!! It would make this game a whole lot better if the Developers of this and also Trainz Simulator 3 actually used a map of all the train routes in the UK, Europe, Asia and the USA and incorporate these into these apps instead of fabricating a route when the main objective is to start from a famous station like St. Pancreas (London) and end up at Gard De Nord in (Paris), etc..Version: 1.0.8

There are multiple routes with multiple sessions (think missions) to drive, a nice selection of trains and different scenery with variable weather. You won't do any better on the App Store. This has given me multiple hours of enjoyment. I recently bought an in-app purchase of The Alps area and it is really great. You can tell N3V spent a lot of work on this add-on. For $1 you get the Alps route with 5 sessions to drive including free roam. A bargain. I can't say enough how great it is to play this anywhere I go. First, the model of the SAR 500 Class #504 steam locomotive doesn’t have a working whistle. Second, as far as I can tell, there is no was to download other models outside of in-app purchases. And finally, a minor issue of mine, is the fact that, so far, there is no small USA steam switching locomotives. I would like to download a 0-4-0, or 0-6-0, saddle tank locomotive to mess around with. ✓ New to the game not new to map makingI got this game recently to pass the time because the console games are just not cutting it for me right now. After spending many hours practicing in surveyor mode I have found a new side hobby on my iPad that requires no installation on my desktop I played the FreePlay roaming around the track system just aimlessly wandering but I wasn’t really getting too much enjoyment out of it but after playing around on the surveyor mode I have found a lot more to do than I could ever imagine in an app being able to do. I get this is a port at trains simulator 2009 and it’s a great port that I am definitely late on finding. ✓ Great Game - but a bit glitchy at timesI bought this for my son who is mad on transport and vehicles. He love it but gets a little frustrated with the graphics glitching occasionally. Sometimes when the journey starts up the train controls are missing and you have to restart the game. It would be nice to see speed limits in advance as its difficult to see exactly what speed is coming up but you do get used to the warning signs eventually, but for an 9 year boy with a learning disorder its not the easiest to pick up. I’ve been extensively reworking Highland Valley, adding branches, spurs, interchanges and industries. My wish list: 1) when spotting a loaded flatcar on at an industry, the load immediately disappears when the car stops. It would be nice if there were a user-defined time delay so that it disappears some time after the switching crew departs; 2) I have yet to find the tool to add cameras for lineside viewing. We need a more realistic derailment system, I would love if you go too fast into a train car and derail you like bust it up, with particles and it becomes damaged, and if you go off the track can the train just like fly off WITH NO X above it and if a train car hits train just do as if standard gravity kicks in and bounce it off or damage it. When i was purchasing it I thought that the in game payments would be for maps. And that you wouldn’t need to buy any locos. Surprise to me 3/4 of the locos are not free.
