That aside this game was incredibly fun reminding me of Metroid meets Spelunker with a little Pharaoh’s Curse. Played with an external controller and it’s even better. Because you respawn on the same screen you die the game is pretty easy, but that’s not really what this is about. ✓ Great game, poor controlsThe development team put together an indepth game, lots of things to explore, lots of variety. But, the game is let down by poor controls. As someone with a device full of games (and lots of experience in platformers), these controls are up there as one of the worst controls i've come across. They are too close together and too crammed in the corners. The positioning should be flexible - and as a develper, that would be a VERY quick thing to implement. I've tried to be fair and rate the game with 4 stars because in spite of uncomfortable controls, it's still very enjoyable. ✓ Best Platformer!!I've been a fan of Donut Games since they started coming out for my iPhone 3G way back in 2008. They are a great company and the games were wonderful for the older devices, but get pretty boringly repetitive nowadays. Traps fixes all the single plot issues and brings many different elements into this game. With the game controller support (have the SteelSeries Stratus), it makes the game perfect for what it's going for. If you're looking super flashy guns and fights this ISN'T it but if you're looking for a nice platform with more than one twist and turn, this is the game for you. $5 is pittance for a developer that's been around since the App Store opened and continues to release new games and updates the old ones. ✓ Exceptional Metroidvania GoodnessDonut Games has a history of making solid games with more arcade style play (given 19 or so of their games that I own). This is a departure from that as this game is an open world platform puzzler. Like Metroid or Castlevania but maybe a bit more Indiana Jones. This is not just a random indie looking affair either but something with the polish that the big N put in their platformer a back in the 90's. Sure all Donut Games titles have a lot of polish but this one is a new level of polish even for them. If you like this genre, this is the game to get. ✓ Really good retro adventureLet us keep the gems after death and get rid of all that score thingy. We couls use the gems to buy cosmetics items instead. The score could be how long we survived or how many chests we found without dying.
