Lark Health for Negative User Reviews

Pretty useless so farThe “AI coach” is a pre-programmed coach, completely not personalized. It doesn’t know or recognize the difference between healthy & unhealthy foods in some circumstances and asks me DAILY is my unsweetened iced coffee has a substantial amount of added sugar. Support says this “AI coach” learns as it goes along, yet every morning it asks again if my unsweetened coffee had substantial added sugar. It logs meals that I know are healthy as either unhealthy or neutral, and there’s no way to edit or adjust it. I’m a former power lifter/body builder who gained weight from chemo after surviving cancer 5x. I’ve since dropped 150 lbs before starting to use this app and I find the errors not only infuriating, but detrimental to motivation. Thank goodness I rely on myself for my motivation and not this garbage. Support is apologetic, but useless, nothing changes so why bother. The canned responses are also useless. The app doesn’t talk to you, it talks to itself. There is no way for you to provide your own responses, only choose the dev’s canned answer. I have no idea how that’s considered interactive. Why bother chatting with a “coach” that answers it’s own questions? Useless I’ll keep using it for the scale and the Fitbit...if they ever show up, and I’ll keep complaining and reporting errors until/unless they start getting it right. The idea is great, but in practice in it’s current iteration it’s a waste of time..Version: 4.7.1

Doesn’t work for prediabetes like they claimI signed up because I was diagnosed with prediabetes, and I’m on a special lifelong eating plan specifically for prediabetes/diabetes. Lark doesn’t let you customize your eating outside of vegan/vegetarian/dairy free/gluten free. There is no option for low carb, low carb high fat, high protein, or keto—all of which are prescribed by endocrinologists for patients with prediabetes or T2D. Frankly I found it incredibly frustrating to be told DAILY that I’m eating too much saturated fat (I’m not) and that I’m not eating enough fruit and grains (which spike my blood sugar!) I deleted the app after my Fitbit shipped. They also have ads advertising a higher model of free Fitbit but once you qualify you find out you get the lowest model for free and have to pay for higher models. I’ll just end up selling the free one (because I already have one just like it and hate it) and buy a higher model that is used..Version: 4.10.3

Can’t Connect to 23andMe and Support is DisappointingI received an email from 23andme about Lark and how it connects to my data and will provide a more comprehensive and bespoke wellness plan for me. I downloaded Lark, launched the app and went answered the chatbot questions. None of the questions included 23andme so I tried to find a setting where I could input the account info and there was nothing. Then I emailed support and the first thing they replied with was a link to install Lark. I replied and said I have Lark and I just want to connect 23andme. They told me to launch Lark and Lark (the bot) would ask me for my information. I said again, that the bot didn’t ask me and if there was somewhere else that I can input the info. It’s been days and I haven’t received a reply. On top of that, the interactions with Lark the Bot based on the health info that it does have about me is pretty basic and doesn’t lend to the extra time I have to spend having a scripted exchange with a poorly written chatbot. I literally want those hours of my life back that I spent trying to get this thing to work. I recommend using Fitness Genes if you want a comprehensive fitness report based on your genetics..Version: 4.8.1

Good but...Sometime about a month ago, Lark started grossly underestimating my exercise. It happened about the time it started asking me to sync my pedometer. It will estimate about 2000 steps when my Apple Watch says I have over 9000. Or it’ll say, “congratulations on that thirty-minute run, you just did!” Then it’ll pop up the activity graph, and it’ll show less than ten minutes in total. I’ve gone from averaging over two hours of activity a day to less than 15 minutes (on the app, not IRL). This has significantly dropped my calorie goals to unrealistic levels. I’ve checked all the settings. I made sure the health app is allowing lark to read and write data. I’ve reinstalled. Not sure how to fix this or what's causing it..Version: 4.10.0

Not worth $20 a month. Not special. My gym cost $40 a month. And there are many apps for free that can do what lark does as far as tracking of weight, food, fitness and sleep. Not only do I have apps to do these things but a simple google will tell you what you ate is bad or not bad. I know what is bad and how much I’ve worked out in a day so Lark does no good for me anymore. If the price was dropped I’d pay for it. Users are silly to even consider $20 a month. This is like $7 a month. Lark isn’t doing anything special or telling me anything new. Just overpriced with a lovely way of sorting the information. I’ll keep it installed but never will I pay for it. I have friends that would have been interested if it wasn’t overpriced for no reason. The developers don’t seem to be interested in paying per year or creative pay plans in general. It’s always been a flat $20 a month since they made it a subscription. I remember when lark was entirely free. :( certainly not $20 a month. Your funny!.Version: 4.9.6

Decent, but there’s much to be desiredFirst off, when I first downloaded the app I thought that the coach would be an actual person, and was a little disappointed that it’s an automated bot. However, I do like that it’s more personalized than other basic apps and actually takes into account my habits and averages so it doesn’t feel like I’m following a super basic pattern or plan. I don’t like how basic some of the features are, especially the food tracking. The input is very basic, which means there’s a LOT of room for error as far as ingredients and calories go. I know the point of the app is to not focus specifically on calorie counting, but when you’re actually trying to lose weight it’s vital that you track them to an extent, and it’s just not possible to do that with the current interface. I find myself doing the bare minimum food tracking with Lark, then going to another free fitness app to actually track my food and calories. Lastly, I think the “mindful check-ins” could be improved GREATLY by just including more options for answers rather than just good, ok, or not good. The options are way too vague to actually log and track my mood and to try to make improvements. If you’re looking to make changes by developing habits without tracking a ton of details or stats, this app is perfect. But if you’re trying to seriously follow a goal or lose a good amount of weight, you’re better off with a different app..Version: 5.6.8

So farSo far I’m enjoying the app. Haven’t had any issues with crashing. Monthly subscription is way too much for me to be willing to pay, I’d pay that for every 3 months, not monthly. Which is disappointing because at the moment I am enjoying the app and the information..Version: 4.8.1

Long way to goLark is an original concept- a quirky chat bot as a wellbeing coach. However, while some may find the gentle encouragement useful for pattern forming I found it's too limited. The integration with Apple health to monitor exercise and sleep patterns is a nice touch and has expanded the usefulness of the app since I used it in September last year. However, It doesn't consider my health goals or reward me (beyond a simple word of encouragement) after forming a good habit. For example- my goal is not to loose weight. I am thin and want to gain muscle. I have gained 4kg muscle since September last year after resistance training. Lark was condescending stating that I could loose the weight by monitoring my diet. This is both bad advice and disheartening when considering my goals. Better logic needs to be the focus of the next release..Version: 3.2.0

Love this app, BUT...This app is great! The interface and user experience warrant 5 stars, I just wish it had an option for sustaining or gaining weight. I love the activity and sleep analysis and the well being check-ins, but perhaps if there was an option to turn off weight related messaging..Version: 4.9.7

Not quite sureSo I came across this app/offer on Facebook and went for it since my insurance covers it. It’s been very confusing going between two providers to try and get to the free scale and Fitbit. Had a near six week back-and-forth trying to be recognized on the app and get my scale ordered when FINALLY that got worked out—though I’ve yet to receive the scale (it’s been a week so hoping in this next one I’ll get it). The scale is connected to Solera which monitors your app usage and sends the Fitbit. I should have that by now had things gone smoothly. Anyway, it looks like most folks do get their scale and Fitbit in a reasonable time period but that’s not been my experience at all. Customer support is slow but does respond. The app itself is ok. Looking for it to get stepped up and really give some helpful tips. I’m willing to give it a bit more time so I hope it all comes together and helps me reach my goals..Version: 4.7.3

Good, but too expensive.I like it quite a bit, but for the price I feel like I should be wowed a bit more..Version: 4.9.9

Easy setup, abysmal food diaryIt does everything that matters the least well. Weight, sleep and activity tracking are fine. It just pulls from my health app or its scale. I had a withings scale before so nothing gained there. But that’s where it ends - you talk to a chat bot through guided conversations, the goals are fine, but this app performa minimal effort to achieve success. Now the food tracking is the worst I’ve seen. You can’t ensure the food you enter is correct because it only shows you servings and calories. Today I ate “protein powder” and any time I tried to make that more specific, it just screwed everything up worse. I have used myfitnesspal, lose it, Macrostax and myplate - all of them do the food tracking much much better. This doesn’t even pass as food tracking. To think this thing is making recommendations based on gross inaccuracies and charging my insurance is ludicrous..Version: 5.3.5

Almost Too AutomatedThe AI makes the app super easy to use, get registered, check to see if your insurance plan covers the cost of the program and to order a free digital scale! All of that is incredibly easy. But there are drawbacks. The app is buggy. I’m using an iPhone 11 Pro Max so and sometimes when I bring up the app, the screen freezes for a few (3-5) seconds and then will eventually move to the chat screen. I slept 6.5 hours and somehow it recorded 9.5 hours of sleep. Logging food is clunky. Compared to MyFitness Pal, there just are not enough options to input what you ate and the AI will make some wacky interpretations. It logged 45 calories for water! In the long run, I think I will get used to the quirks, but I will constantly be hoping for improvements..Version: 5.1.5

Program drives me crazy. When I first started using the lark program I really enjoyed having the ability to track my activity levels and food consumption. The lark program gives you some great tips for maintaining your health. However, there have been multiple glitches in this program over the past few months. There have been multiple updates to the program to try to fix these glitches to no avail. My activity is being added inaccurately lately. For instance, I put in two walks one of 35 minutes and another of 40 minutes. It added these two activities as two 25 minute cycling activities. Not only was it inaccurately tracking the type of activity but it also inaccurately added the total number of minutes. These glitches are becoming more and more the normal with this program and I am getting frustrated with it. Not sure what has happened. When reporting problems with the activity the only advice I ever get is to delete the current program and add the updated program. Yet each update has the same problems consistently..Version: 5.1.7

Good and BadIt’s a good app in their idea and concept and works well. But the data is old. If I ate as they wanted I would be stuck. I have been doing a Ketogenic diet and in a few months I have lowered my a1c into the normal range, bp is normal, LDL is in the mid 90s HDL is good and I dropped 71lbs By the time LARK sent me the information about using this app and devices I have been pretty much out of the woods on some things and when I set up the program LARK basically laughed when I set up how much I wanted lose in my first 16 weeks. I pretty much already lapped the Lark suggestion and well on my way to my goal. I think they need to up their data base and stop following the nation guidelines and use what really works Low carb works! Stop recommending whole grains. I eat enough veggies for fiber and have stopped feeding my insulin sugar..Version: 4.13.1

Should have read the reviews — NOT a quality appI signed up because I’m on a fitness journey and my insurance covers the whole cost and I thought it would be nice to upgrade to a smart scale. I was shocked when the insurance claim processed as $93. I thought, “wow, that’s a lot for a year” based on what I’d seen so far. So I just entered my second month and saw another $93 come through on my insurance statement. They’re charging $93 a MONTH. Even though it’s not my own money, I’m canceling because it’s a complete scam at that price point. It’s not personalized or customized. It’s not AI. It’s scripted and unless you’ve never learned anything about nutrition and exercise, this is all basic knowledge. On top of that, the tone is frequently judgmental in its effort to provide “support” and the food tracking is useless. The calories are all off. There’s no crowd-sourced database or barcode scanning. Looking back at the reviews, these have been the same complaints users have had for at least four years. They’re clearly not interested in making the necessary improvements when they can continue to collect from insurance companies. My guess is that a lot of people just give up on the app without formally canceling and they continue to get paid; I’m not interested in being a part of that..Version: 5.6.2

No option for weight gainApp has a huge gain. If you enter in your weight it thinks you are trying to loose weight rather even if the weight you enter is underweight. And there is no option to turn the feature off once you enter your weight. Please make it so the app can help you with weight gain rather than only weight loss..Version: 4.4.3

OverpricedIt’s not a real person it’s an app please don’t charge that much per month that is a crazy amount for an app. But the developers have done an amazing job with it I just wished they priced it a bit more fairly. I would say it’s probably my favourite.Version: 4.4.4

Waste of timeI have had the Lark app for 2 months and it has never worked correctly. My Fitbit would not sync. So the “coach” kept telling me to move more. I reached out to support and they did respond. Support contacted me and it was the same solution repeatedly. To uninstall and reinstall the app to disconnect and reconnect my Fitbit. Support even told me they have a new update and it won’t solve my problem but it is best to have the latest version. I even set it to ask me for my pedometer steps so I could enter the information myself. The “coach” only asked me twice. There is no where for you to input this information. You can only do it if you are asked. Maybe the “coach” got confused with all the uninstall and reinstall that was happening. The “coach” is just automated responses. Everyday it told me to eat more whole grains and vegetables. That has been my Lark experience. No I would not recommend it to anyone..Version: 5.6.8

Dont bother with this appBecause my insurance offered Lark for free, I decided to try it. I used it about a week, and it is very difficult to use and has so many bugs it's not funny. I got logged out, and couldnt log back in so I tried "change my password." The app never sent a link to my email. After researching on how to fix that, I finally got logged back in only to see everything was deleted. Logging food is difficult to say the least, because it randomly crashes and you have to restart the app, even after redownloading it from the app store. It took me nearly two hours to log a simple breakfast due to the crash issues. You also cant scan barcodes so if you eat some frozen food you have to log each ingredient from the box, but you'll be lucky to do that if it doesnt crash. I own a apple watch and there is basically no support for apple products. I even tried emailing tech support about all of these issues, and only got a response with information I could easily look up on the internet. Dont waste your time or money..Version: 5.2.7

Determined to use, but not a fan especially after losing dataUpdate: Lark lost all my meal data and another week of activity data for a second time at the end of the third week of using. I have used this app for a little over two weeks now. I received my free smart scale this week, but am still waiting for information regarding the free FitBit (for the diabetes prevention program). Chat style interface is annoying and slow even on the fastest setting. I hated this interface on Sydney and I’m glad the developers moved away from it there. Please get rid of it here as well. Also the app seems to lose data at random. I lost all my meal data for over a week (21+ meals worth), two days of sleep data (not even the most recent days - 2 consecutive days from about a week ago), and activity data for 5 days (all the days from the past week that I didn’t lose sleep data for). This is a pretty big problem since the utility of this kind of app is directly tied to the quantity and quality of data entered. Smart scale came preconfigured and uses a cellular connection so it is tied to this app which is sort of disappointing and frustrating not knowing where this data is being sent or stored. Bluetooth would have been a much better choice, but it was free. Could not provide developers direct feedback because it requires the default Apple mail app which I uninstalled because I use the Gmail app..Version: 4.14.3

Good intentions but needs more workI really like this app. It was something that I had been considering for a while now.. I enjoy that it connects to my scale and I can use the same account on more than one smart device. It makes it easier to check in that way. On the improvement side of things. I wish that the sleep and nutrition sections of the app were a bit better. The sleep relies on you inputting in the correct times manually so it hasn’t helped me to track how well I sleep yet.. just how long. The nutrition.. I wish that the app had a barcode or qr scanner so I could scan or take a picture of the barcode or nutritional information. Right now every item that I have entered has the wrong amount of calories or serving size which can be frustrating. For example something as simple as a single serving of Mott’s applesauce. Unsweetened and original has the wrong amount of calories by almost 100 calories and the single serving size of a single portion is also wrong. This makes it rather hard to get the correct gauge on the amount you are eating.Version: 5.8.5

Poor decisions ruined the appI've been a big fan of this app for months and credit it with helping me lose 5kg -- but then the development team introduced a paid model, and removed existing features such as weight tracking. It's now ridiculously expensive for what appears to be a marginal improvement in the Pro version. Companies who treat their existing customer base with disdain deserve to fail, and failure is where this excellent idea for an app is heading with its current commercial model. Boo..Version: 2.4.0

AccountWhy do I have setup an account to try the app?? It’s a free app and has now been deleted from my phone. You should stop trying to get all my information up front as I do t want to give it to you and now you’ve lost a customer..Version: 4.10.0

Don’t Expect Them to Contract with Your InsI signed up because my insurance was literally the example in their search for insurance box.... It still would not come up. No one was available through their support at that time to assist. My insurance company advised to enter it as an instate (CA) network saying that if one is accepted the other will be as well and systems often have issues with the out of state info. Well once I entered the instate info Lark had no issues verifying my group number as covered in their system. So today I call as it has been about 2 weeks an I have not received anything more than the initial welcome email from them. No scale or notice that it’s on the way. The app keeps telling me that I’m almost to getting the Fitbit... The rep tells me I was kicked out of the program because I don’t have h the correct insurance. No notice and my “coach” is just stringing me along.... waist of time. Also this is the 3rd time with a 3rd different insurance so I’m not sure what you have to have to “qualify”..Version: 4.10.3

Great until they removed featuresThe recent change to make us pay to use a previously free feature (food logging - which was what got me to use the app) is seriously disappointing. Not only that, the fact that it is a whopping $30 a MONTH just to get it back is disgusting. Not sure how the developer can justify this!!.Version: 3.0.1

Set up is ridiculousThe forced setup “chat” could be compressed into a one page document. I gave up after being forced through a fake chat that had no end in sight.Version: 4.8.1

Pros and ConsI appreciate the app for helping me track my activity and the educational missions have made me much more aware of the health benefits of unsaturated fats and fiber. However, the food logging portion of the app is often confusing to me. The app tells you up front that if you are counting calories to do so in different app so I have been using FatSecret for that. FatSecret uses nutrition labels to track serving sizes and macros. The Lark Health app lumps types of food together and it is difficult to figure out how to input good choices. For instance, inputting 2.5 ounces of skipjack tuna canned in water, 6 triscuits, a bunch of fresh veggies and a vinaigrette made with 2 tablespoons of olive oil came out to 20.9 grams of saturated fat! According to the nutrition labels the total saturated fat should be 5 grams. Part of the issue is that the app has palm oil as an ingredient in Triscuits, when they are made with Safflower oil. Not all fatty fish are created equal either. My point is that these glitches with the app make the daily Nutrition Badges practically meaningless..Version: 5.3.2

Not gluten accurateWhen I signed up, I was able to indicate that I was gluten free. However, when I entered gluten free food( even generic gluten free bread) showed up as zero calories and no nutritional information. As a result, Lark wanted to increase my calories and kept telling me I wasn’t getting enough whole grains. Also, my FitBit wasn’t synching, no matter how many times I disconnected and reconnected. I contacted customer support, they were very responsive and nice. However, they wanted me to give them the nutritional information for the missing gluten free food… that’s not really my job… As for the FitBit, the response was some type of 5 step procedure involving app developers contacting me to troubleshoot. I honestly thought this was a new app until I read some of the reviews from 4 years ago! If they can get the app working as responsively as their customer service, it might be worth it. I’m deleting the app and going back to My Fitness Pal..Version: 5.7.4

Could be betterLark has a clever interface that at first charmed me. The idea of “texting” back & forth with an enthusiastic “coach” is appealing. But the app made incorrect assumptions (which couldn’t be edited) about my activities — resulting in inaccurate data — resulting in inappropriate feedback. Example: last night I was in bed 10 hours; Lark assumed I had 10 hours sleep: no accounting for reading for 90 minutes or having sleep interruptions to get up to let dog out, etc..Version: 4.7.2

Needs update! Keeps closingWas a pretty good app, although the sleep data needs to be user changeable as it regularly is incorrect. It is still a good app for collection of data for movement like walking and running. --- But the app has suddenly stopped working for me, it just keeps closing a few seconds after opening the app --- Wait for update!!!!.Version: 1.1

Great appIt’s a great app but a little pricey - that’s the reason for the 3 stars..Version: 4.8.1

Needs meal information from Lose It! appI think almost every feature of the LarkApp is great, and I’ve been using it daily for about six weeks. The only thing I would change is the nutrition information data. There is some assumed knowledge of ingredients and caloric content of common foods, but I would love for lark to except information from Lose It! about nutritional intake each day. Lose It! is extremely specific, and contains an almost endless catalog of barcodes and nutritional information from restaurants, not to mention the ability to create your own recipes with individual ingredients. Lark would not have to build a database anything like this, if it would only accept meal information that was already logged for that day in the Lose It! app. I realize that might make it more difficult for lark to track servings of particular types of food, like unsaturated fat and fruits and vegetables, but I can’t see that it would be too terribly hard to figure out, as Lose It! is already also tracking those things to build a person’s daily nutrients profile. I also know I’m not the first lark user to make this exact request. For those of us who track our food diligently as part of our health journey, Lose It! is hands-down the best for this function. Incorporating that information into lark would be extremely helpful for success in the lark app, as well..Version: 4.16.0

Lark crashes or no internet connectionWhen I tried the survey for Lark Pro. I got the sms, clicked on it and then opened the app. It stated no internet connection and try later. The internet connection is fine. The app will also crash when trying to connect on a couple occasions. How can I contact you, the web page has no way to contact. Very disappointed as the app worked before this mess..Version: 4.3.11

Too repetitive; Needs to be 'smarter'..I've decided to change my review after a couple more weeks of using Lark on a daily basis. Lark doesn't recognise that I eat muesli with sugar free yoghurt every single morning, and each time I log breakfast, I need to answer whether or not my yoghurt contained sugar, and read the same exact exchange about why sugar is bad for me, etc. Same goes for other meals that I have regularly; Lark says the same comments each time we talk about protein or grains or dessert.. It clearly doesn't recognise that I've already read that information ten times that week. Another thing they need to improve on is the fact that meals often contain several different elements and instead of focusing on one unhealthy element and writing my meal off as unhealthy, it needs to acknowledge that most of the other elements were very healthy. Lark also seems very limited in its recognized food repertoire. I write in a general cuisine such as "Indian food" or "Korean food" and it doesn't understand what it means. One final thing I'll add is that it tracks my movement based on my steps, rather than using GPS tracking. I often go for walks with my phone in the pram, or cycle and it obviously doesn't recognise the movement because it's smooth. I think for Lark to become an essential part of my health and fitness regime, it needs to become a whole lot smarter and less repetitive because it's quickly getting old having the same discussions every single day..Version: 2.3.1

Not bad but...Lark is a fun little coach but there are a few things that annoy. Lark is quite repetitive in some of the things it’s suggests. We’ve discussed these before, move on already! Also currently it is 42C (108F) outside and it is complaining that I’m not at my normal level of activity. Yes, because if I go “for a quick walk” I’m going to get burnt and probably end up with heat stroke. I have another app that actually communicates with the weather app and knows what the weather is like around me. Another day a few months ago it suggested a walk to get my activity going; we were under a flood watch and I was watching a river flowing where the road in front of my house had once existed. I wish it had more functionality and I often swim and swimming is not something I can add, it just goes under a generic “workout”. So many little things could be improved..Version: 4.4.0

Food interpretation is AmericanHad this app install for 3 days and ended up deleting it. The app works with the concept of free text food consumption chat. Whilst having the potential to be great, this feature unfortunately using American concepts. A curried beef pie was considered a dessert and a Pork Tenderloin was seen as two separate serves of different meats..Version: 2.3.0

Good but too expensiveGreat app in many ways. Can be slow. Very expensive for what it is..Version: 4.10.0

LarkSimple, easy to navigate and “no pressure” checkin. So far, so good..Version: 4.4.0

Not particularly helpfulIf you’ve ever taken a nutrition course or have a nutritionist, then this app isn’t particularly helpful for you. The app basically gives you small, really basic steps for you to take towards a healthy lifestyle. That’s great, but I can get the same information from my nutritionist or from brochures from my primary care provider’s office. It says it’s “personalized” with your 23andme results, which at first attracted me, but really it’s just telling you what your results are.. which you can already do on the 23andme website. It’s interface is easy to use and all you really need to do is check in and tell the app what you’re eating every day. However, I’m already tracking my food on MyFitnessPal (which is free btw), so that wasn’t really useful for me either. I would recommend this to someone who has never sought guidance from a health professional before and has not a single clue what healthy looks like..Version: 4.8.1

Lacking in basic featuresI was so excited when I got the letter from my health insurance company that I could sign up for Lark. I had seen the ads on social media for a couple of years and it looked so helpful. The reality is, I’ve acquired better (and more accurate) tools over the past few years so I don’t feel like this program is as helpful as I thought it would be. The AI *wants* to be helpful, but it still comes off as judgey. There is no way to scan bar codes of foods, no way to fix the horribly off calorie counts and macro nutrient info. I have no idea why it thinks diet soda has over 100 calories in a serving 🤦🏻‍♀️ I already have a blood pressure monitor; the one they sent me is ok but the setup instructions for it and the digital scale were inaccurate and confusing. I finally figured it out and it’s all working fine. The scale they sent is super basic- for some reason I thought it might be one that tracks body fat percentage but it doesn’t- just my weight. I also have to keep family from trying to use the devices because it could mess up the data that syncs- I don’t see a way to fix accidental measurements which is frustrating. In short- if you already use a good food tracking app like My Fitness Pal or Lose It, have an Apple Watch to track your activity, and a decent digital scale that also reads body fat percentage and connects to Apple Health- you can probably skip this whole program and just journal your progress..Version: 5.5.7

Not like it used to beThis app used to be so great. You would tell it what you ate and it counted the calories and would give you tips etc. Now they charge close to 30$/month for it. It is not logical to me as it was their main thing and you can get it for free with many other apps. They also added other information that you don’t really need as your phone already calculates it and obviously that is the free one. You used to be able to enter your data real quick but not you have to spend about 5 min responding to Lark to have a simple sleep analysis. Very disappointed of what it has became.... would NOT recommend..Version: 4.9.2

Taking away free features, too expensiveSorry, not gonna buy a $30/month sub for something that was once free. The added planning and coaching would need to be amazing and guarantee a healthy personal fitness level. I may as well go get a real personal trainer..Version: 4.4.4

Will not updateDespite trying to update this app for days it will not. Your developers need to either fix this app or find another job. Day three now and still not fixed. Too many bugs.Version: 4.9.0

Fun idea, overpricedFun idea to imitate a conversation to log and analyze health data. Deleted immediate realizing they want 27.99 a month to record food data. Absolutely ridiculous..Version: 3.1.0

Calorie Counts OffThis is an ok app. I like the coach aspect but I don’t always like the choices they give to answer with but it’s fine. The thing I hate is that none of the food calories are correct. NONE of them. I tried to put in cherry sparkling water and it said over 100 calories - it was obviously confused by the word “cherry” another example is that I put in triscuit thin crackers and ot said a serving was 250 calories. The box said 130. That’s a huge difference when your counting calories. No where does it tell you what a “serving” is and how they arrived at that number. I guess I was spoiled by My Fitness Pal. Since they got this aspect so very wrong - I’m not sure if people are really losing weight - then again they might be starving themselves if they go by the calorie counts in this app. I’ll try it for a bit longer but having to figure out all the calories for every piece of food I eat is super irritating, but maybe the coach aspect of the app will grow on me and I’ll see some results. I’m happy to give it a chance but might be more work than it’s worth. Oh - and I got my scale surprisingly fast - within only about 3-4 days of signing up. Sounds like I was lucky considering some other reviews. I may come up and update…if it’s worth my time to (and it gets significantly better in the coming months..Version: 5.5.3

Meh 🤷🏻‍♂️The concept is cool. I want to like this application but for one that uses AI to disseminate information, it doesn’t seem too intelligent. Why can’t the user input their own responses and ask questions on health, wellness and nutrition related matters? Frankly, interacting with the “Coach” becomes quite boring. Also, the scale seems a bit off. One typically is lighter in the morning over evening and it weighed me around 5 lbs less in the evening one week. (This type of fluctuation has occurred frequently.) Well, according to the scale yesterday, I gained that all back last week. There’s no conceivable way that happened, not with my nutrition plan and what I know I ate and logged. I have no illness to cause it nor taking any meds that would. I know weight fluctuates but not in the patterns this scale has shown. So, I double checked my weight at my fitness center and actually lost .7 lbs for the week, which is realistic. I’m going to change the batteries in hopes that’s the issue. So my overall opinion at this point, is the idea is awesome but I hope my insurer has done their homework and realize what they’re (through my premium) paying for because it were an app I was paying for directly out of my pocket, I wouldn’t buy it..Version: 5.5.3

It doesn’t do anything!I’ve been using Lark for over a month and it really doesn’t do anything. Keeps telling me the same basic things and asking the same questions. Perhaps it’s for those who crawled out from under a rock and know nothing about nutrition and exercise. I even paid for DNA integration and it gave no additional information. What is the point?.Version: 4.9.1

Apple Watch In the country I’m inWhen i go into the settings for the app connection for Apple Watch is whited out so I can’t connect it and I’m not American, why are all the questions from the coach American related?.Version: 4.7.3
