✓ Hard time seeing what work needs to be done as a parentFrom what I can tell from my usage as well as from our teachers are saying, there is no easy way for parents to see what work is still out and needs to be done from the parents phone. In order to get her this information, you have to check the student’s device which is not helpful when you’re trying to stay on top of things while you’re at work. Fix this and the rating goes way up. It’s good to see the teacher student communication AND also what work has been completed.Version: 7.6.6
✓ Unorganized, the social feed of educational resourcesAs a student this is organized when a child works in their own account. However, as a parent resource, this app is incredibly frustrating and unorganized if you have more than one child. The posts are added by your children’s teacher and isn’t sorted by student. This makes everything a constant mixed social feed and makes you spend more time trying to find resources and feeds, vs. actually pulling up the per child activities. Significant improvements could be made in this app for parent use..Version: 7.2.4
✓ Great app, needs a landscape view.This is a great app and I look forward to seeing individual child and class activities it’s a great way to showcase what the kids are doing and interact with them. My big gripe is that you can’t view pdf newsletters and other files in landscape format. Most parents I know look at Seesaw on a phone but it’s difficult to read documents without zooming and so it’s hard to keep track of where you are on a page. Improve legibility by allow users to turn their phone on its side. It just doesn’t function now. Please consider this a feature request..Version: 6.2

✓ It’s just for messagingThis app is only good for messaging the teacher. Not a good app to see what they have to do, what is done and what needs to be redone only what they have completed. You’re better off downloading the seesaw CLASS app to be better involved in your child’s classroom. And with knowing that, if you have more than one kid it gets a little more difficult going back and forth since the CLASS app doesn’t allow for concurrent users..Version: 7.5
✓ Worst app everDoes not up date, seesaw refuses to allow to be run on a Mac. Not everyone wants to do things through there cell phone but you force it. ✓ Basic and flawedWhile it's handy to have, the app's concept is nothing new. Yet it fails at its most basic function, which is viewing photos. No single photo download, no rotate, no pinch to zoom (and stay there). When you read the text before viewing photos, the grey dots continue to hover over the photos until you go back to the first screen. Seriously creators, do you even use your own app?!.Version: 6.2.2
✓ So annoyingIt’s one of two things.....either the school our kids go to have no idea how to use the app effectively, or it’s the worst app of all time. I have notifications turned off but I get notifications constantly. We have two kids, so every time a school note goes out I get everything twice. There is no rhyme or reason to things that get posted. Basically there are so many notes that it makes it tedious to even want to navigate. The only thing I like it for, is if a teacher or my kids post a photo or video of something cool they did in class. I’ve told our kids that they are responsible for their learning and that we won’t use the app. No different than the way it was before technology. ✓ Why are there two apps with different views?!I was asked by my child’s 2nd grade teacher to DL Seesaw family, only to notice I cannot submit their class work or homework on this (seesaw family) app?! I have to login to Seesaw class as my child’s login so I can take a picture of their work on my phone. Obviously my child can take a picture of the photo via their laptop computer, but who the hell wants to position a notebook in front of their laptop or iPad cam that’s blurry to show their work? What is the point of having this app at all if you cannot have the same functions?! ✓ ClunkyWhy can’t I see the class activities from the family app? I need access to this to print from a different device to my child’s. So I end up logging in as the child on the class app on my device (so logged in twice, once on the child’s device and once on my own) but then as I have more than one child I have to keep switching logging in and out as I cannot be logged in as both, this then needs the unique code sent from school each time so the whole process just print/email from the class activities is a pain. Please simplify this; view class activities from the family app would solve this issue. Also on the Kindle, there is no delete button from the journal! This is available on iPhone but not Kindle. ✓ Poor UI choices, difficult to manage contentI’ve been using Seesaw online before but it’s difficult to view pictures and video on a tablet there (if it’s an album then all you see is a small image), so this year I gave up and installed the app. Other than being able to see larger pictures and more stable navigation (it was just atrocious online, so hardly an improvement), I don’t see any benefits in installing the app and consuming space on your device. I have just one kid who is in the last elementary grade. But according to the app, I have 5 children since it seems to treat every class as “child”. Can’t get rid of any old stuff. When I open a list of “children”, they all are listed under one name and I don’t know which class is which. Messages from 2 grades ago are still there, can’t delete anything. Sometimes notification bubble is up but there is actually nothing new when you tap on it. Overall seems very disorganized and maybe convenient for teachers but not so much for the parents. Printing from it is almost impossible, files that you save to Dropbox lose their file name and extension, and there’s no portrait view on iPad. ✓ App LimitationsThe App is a good idea but has limitations that developers need to work through as follows: 1. The App does not allow to turn off notifications for each time someone “likes” a pinned video, photo or message. So, you keep getting highly annoying pings. 2. When a notification arrives that an item was updated, it’s not straight away evident what changes were made, so you have to go through every single slide looking carefully what has changed, and whether quotation marks have had a slight change in colour meaning there’s a comment hiding in that slide. ✓ Terrible, terrible applicationSummary: privacy concerns, can't see favourite postings, no landscape mode I am not a Facebook user. I have no control over who has access to my kids' photos. Names and images are matched on a foreign server! This is very concerning for anyone who understands anything about privacy. I have one seesaw post I often refer to. It takes me a full 5 minutes to scroll through months of posts to see 1 post that I favourited. That's appalling UI design (and I'm a UI designer!!) You can't rotate images. The one image I'm interested in was taken in landscape mode but I it can only be viewed in portrait mode. you can't copy images to your photo album or view them full screen and it's hard to zoom in!! Mind boggling. The whole UI is clunky. How do you see images? How do you review comments? It's not intuitive to use. This app is terrible. I do not recommend it. It's a flawed design..Version: 4.6

Then i could not change password as my email was entered wrong. Worked with the school tech support twice, and still don't have access to my child’s journal. There are so many features that I like about this app. It has been a great way to go paperless and to communicate with my parents. I have the parents post videos and pictures of the homework I assign. In order to do this they have to download the class app and the family app. There needs to be a way to integrate all of this into one app. Having two apps makes the first week of setup really confusing for parents. ✓ DisappointingAs the title says this app is disappointing. I have used other apps for parent teacher communication and this one fall short on several different fronts. 1. Adding both parents to a child’s class is a pain with the app seeming to make it extra hard. 2. You can only message the teacher after they message you. So you have to commit on a class/group photo to ask the teacher to message you. 3. You cannot contact other parents on this app. I know with COVID it isn’t as big of a thing but being able to message other parents worked great for me on another app I used before. That includes bullying, class get togethers, invitations to sleep overs or birthday parties. Parent to parent communication doesn’t exist on this app. In conclusion. This is a poorly executed app that is neither user-friendly nor well thought out for a multiple parents or communication coming from parents to teacher. In addition there is no parent to parent communication available..Version: 7.7.4
✓ App is very delayedThis is a great tool to see what the kids are doing in school. My only issue is when one of my kids post, it does not come onto the app for 4-5 days later.
