✓ Game is great, iAPs are not.The tile system is plain messed up. The more tiles you unlock the more harder it gets to unlock a subsequent tile. I can’t even imagine how people can connect other cities without incredible luck or wallet size. Yes. “Everything can be earned by playing” sure it can, if you don’t mind playing it for years and years lol. And the ads... i get mild anxiety attacks whenever I finish a level thinking “oh here comes another ad”. I love the game. But I hate the way it’s implemented. Would gladly buy it for 10$ or even more if this didn’t come riddled with in app purchases..Version: 1.13.3

✓ Update does little for long term playersI’ve been playing this for quite a while now, so I have connected all of the stations, completed all stations in chaos+ and I’d done all the achievements. I was looking forward to the, long promised, update only to find that, as 80% of my track is alloy, I have nothing much new to do. I was hoping for at least a couple of new stations and/or ports. I’ve also noticed that, where I used to get four or five challenges each day, I now seem to only get two. Nothing much to keep me interested which, after all the waiting, is a bit of a shame..Version: 18.0

✓ Too many adsFun game but, there are too many invasive ads. You must watch a 30 second ad to continue with game play. The ads appear frequently (sometimes every second round). I would consider buying the game to eliminate the ads, but the frequency and length of the ads feels too much like blackmail and I refuse to give in. ✓ Crashed (and not the trains)...Game ran fine until the Xmas update, but periodically crashed then eventually all the time. Thinking there was some iCloud backup for my progress I deleted the game and reinstalled it, but found my game's progress had reset and lost everything, including the purchased track pieces. ✓ Used to be great....ruined with recent updateThe game was always addictive, a clever mix of puzzle and building strategy. I hit a plateau, where I had the maximum of 6 cities connected to each depot. Recent update means that we can now have up to 8 cities connected (so in theory you get more coins per depot). Except I’ve been shafted by the number of cities being limited to the number of cities connected by iron or alloy! And the more alloy connections, it opens up more connections. So some of my depots have been reduced to 2 or 3 cities connected (so less gold income). And then the glitch where successive plays of a track to get the “200 trains delivered”, and there are multiple track pieces delivered on a train..........I just earned 4 track pieces, and didn’t get any of them, when I went back to the main game. So if you can avoid the glitches, and excuse being downgraded by the devs, then it’s a good game. Sadly, not recommended as it now stands!!.Version: 18.0

✓ Train conductor worldIf you read reviews you will notice this is only the third this year that says it all really, a good game initially and worth a go but the developers have lost interest and there have been no updates for ages. Free game pay a fiver to get rid of adverts and enjoy do not spend lots of money it is possible to go along way without more spending after a time it becomes impossible to complete levels so call it a day. Do this and it’s worth the fiver..Version: 1.13.4

✓ Expensive, if you want to finish the gameDon’t believe promises that eventually the randomization process will reward you with the tiles you need. I’ve been playing for months and I’m still waiting for my “bad luck” to change and be rewarded with a tile I need. The alternative is to buy expensive packs of track that have a lot of pieces you don’t need and one or two that you do. The game is fun, but at this point repetitive as I patiently wait to win or swap for those three pieces of alloy straight track I need to add one more city. Then it will likely be months before I’m “lucky” enough to randomly get the pieces I need to add the next city. One star for being fun but overly expensive. Not once have I ever received a tile I needed in a swap. Alloy horizontal tiles are something you must buy at outrageous prices to advance and even then you won’t be able to purchase enough to advance with a single package. This game is only about gouging you for needed pieces. I don’t buy games and expect to spend a fortune to advance. I’m guessing it will cost well over $100 just to add all the cities. ✓ Used to be betterBefore last update (not the Christmas one) the game was cool. After the update, they changed the algorithm to send the trains, and now you need to face ridiculous stuff like 3 trains in the same line, or just one second before a train leave the line, another one is coming in the other direction. ✓ Great game, poorly-balanced progressionI really enjoy enjoy this game, it’s fun and actually very challenging on higher difficulties. But, that said, it is extremely difficult to progress in the game without buying rail packs. Because of the scarcity of new tracks, connecting to new cities is very difficult after the first few hours of playing. And special events that grant extra coins only occur a few times a day if you’re lucky. And because the coin limit to unlock a new track progressively increases, even those become unhelpful to speeding things up. Even once you get the track, there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to use it, because it’s completely random. Devs, there are 4 corner pieces, and only 1 vertical straight piece, and 1 horizontal straight piece. That means you’ll get twice as many corner pieces that are harder to use than straight pieces. True random is not fair in this kind of system, and straight pieces NEED to be more common. The rate you GET pieces should also be greater, just a coin cap on the new rails would be fine, or at least a way to get the specific rails you need that *isn’t* paying for it. That is, unless, you like this because people will buy packs more often because they get NOTHING USEABLE..Version: 19.0

✓ DisappointingIt seems the sole purpose of this game is to get you to part with your cash. It’s not a true simulation game like Sim City for example. It’s limited to laying rail tracks which become harder to obtain as soon as you have connected the first few towns. The developers have made the game easy to progress at the start to try and get you hooked, then it becomes clear that the only way to connect further towns is by buying the track for cash..Version: 19.0

✓ Claimed tracks not going to “track bar”When I claim non-wooden tracks they are not adding to the bar at the bottom left of the screen. I am running on an iPad with iOS 11.2 , TCW ver 1.13.2 This is a persistent issue, in other words it always does this. I have tried reloading the app but no change. Very frustrating as I cannot “progress” the game. Regards PS - maybe the tracks are there but simply not displaying? Hope so - there must be enough to “track” Europe by water by now! I have advised a couple of weeks ago by email, a detailed review of this issue which clearly showed that some kinds of alloy tiles were being placed as iron tiles in the tile bar. It is very predictable and makes the game impossible to progress as you can NEVER get the required alloy tiles to form the required bridges. A fix would be really nice! ✓ Alright... mostly.So the game does a few things right. It is engaging, each level (or city, if you will) adds some novel quirk. Beautifully drawn, (mostly) fluid gameplay, nice concept for getting more pieces of track to introduce new cities. So why the 2-star rating? They really overdo it with the advertising. Getting a “free” piece of track - a 30-second video. Fine, I get that. An “undo” - again, a video. Fine. But then at random points a video plays as well. Starting a level, opening track, whatever - every so often it just plays. Too much. Well, I hear you say, so pay up! Yeah, the no-ads option is $4.99. And sorry, but this is just not a $5 game. It’s a nice game, don’t get me wrong. But considering that they’re selling you track (and bonus “objectives” as well), it’s just not worth that much. I’d have paid 0.99 or probably even $1.99 in a heartbeat and enjoyed the game a lot more. But even then it isn’t worth $5. Especially being buggy - the app often applies my tap to the wrong train, which is both further from where I touched and which it made no sense to move. All in all, just not worth $5 - but there are enough ads to make clear that they *really* want you to pay up. Still a nice game. ✓ Impossible to progress without payingI was enjoying this game but the latest update has made it impossible to progress further without paying real money. Some stations can never be linked up without alloy junction tiles, which are now so rare they’re almost impossible to get hold of. However much I play, there’s no way to trade up my tiles to a T-junction tile. I am particularly furious that - as I just discovered - the random tile swap machine doesn’t work if you insert five similarly-shaped tiles. It immediately removes all the tempting tiles it was previously offering, and forces you to take a tile of the same shape you’ve just put in. There’s no way to exit!.Version: 18.0

✓ Great game but point mechanic needs tweaking for late stage gameThe gameplay is excellent, and I like building out the train network. However, it feels like a slog because of how long it takes to get suitable tiles. I think the gameplay would be improved if the number of points required for a new tile would grow slower once you reach a certain threshold. The payout should probably follow a sigmoid function. For context, I need about 1100 points for my next tile, and I have to replace all my iron tiles with alloy ones to unlock further connections to my gateways. I have to get 25-level jumps to receive enough wooden tiles to exchange for an alloy one, which takes a long time, and there is no guarantee of getting the right one. In summary, the game is much less fun towards the late stages..Version: 20.1

✓ Ok to start with but......As you build your network you find that some places are impossible to link with more than once, despite what it says in the FAQ’s. The tasks become more and more impossible to the point of it simply isn’t worth trying. Why set a target of 4000 points when insufficient time, or trains, are provided to make it even remotely possible. As for the “random” allocation of track parts, do me a favour! The whole thing is designed, and rigged, to ensure that you either spend ridiculous sums of money, or simply fail to get the parts required. A good concept, destroyed by greed and ineptitude. Update - have now reached a stage where all the tasks are completely impossible, cannot have a “free skip” and new tasks not appearing because I cannot complete the ones that are there! Just what is the point? Spent hours and now at a complete halt in terms of progressing? I also note that the developers do not post answers to this type of problem. First off you have the clash of clans wait forever to do anything fun thing going on and then before playing almost any level when you are ‘allowed’ to play, you have to watch some cheesy ad showcasing the same games over and over. To remove the ads it takes $4.99 — that’s a lot of money for an app without receiving a more generous play schedule. ✓ Loot is not random, issues with iOS gesturesRelatively fun game, although I’ve sunk about $50 into it to keep it moving because there isn’t much variety if you’re not getting coins to build out the railroads. The “random” loot only generates horizontal tiles 1/20 so you’re screwed unless you pay. ✓ Very much regret buying the ad-free version after the latest updateThis game was quite good fun, although it does become very slow to progress as you play it more as the track tiles that you need are vanishingly rare - you can generally expect one or two a day, usually the lowest tier (wood), of which you need 25 in order to get one of the best available in game so far (alloy) that you need to get certain patterns that you need to build the railway “correctly” to connect all your ports. However, the enjoyment of the game as a whole has been massively nerfed along with resource collection in the latest update (18) where before the ports gave you 6 slots that you simply needed to connect to be able to use and collect resources, now the ports have up to 8 slots but most are locked and require you to connect and upgrade your lines with those higher level resources to unlock more slots. This massively slows progress, because of the rarity of those higher level tiles, and is a real kick for those with already existing and designed maps, who suddenly have far fewer resources available. Definitely less fun now than it was..Version: 18.0

✓ Recent update is a downgrade.I loved this game, it was challenging and fun, but the recent upgrades have changed the port system and the way it works and I’ve lost interest in trying to continue. Before the update, when you directly connect a city to a port, you would get money from that railway up to a max of 6 cities. Now, though each port has been upgraded to allow a new max of 8 cities, you need make your tracks longer and with different materials, (wood,steel,alloy) to be able to unlock the ability to add more cities to you port. I had multiple ports that were each connected to 4+ cities and after this update, because some of my tracks aren’t long enough or built with enough of particular materials, 3 of my ports have lost the ability to generate money by locking 2 or more cities railways even though the are still connected to the ports which has resulted in a great loss of income. For us that have been playing this game for a while and have already developed a great railway system spanning 5+ ports and 10+ cities, this recent update makes it hard for us as we have to lengthen our already connected railways otherwise we lose income. I’m probably going to delete this game as I’ve now lost the enjoyment and willingness to continue playing. If it gets changed back I’ll continue to play because before this update this was such an awesome game, but I also know that I’m only one person, so this probably won’t change anything. For the developers, I think this game was fantastic as it was and didn’t need changing (apart from maybe making it a tad easier to get those alloy pieces 😉), I really think that in this case less was more. ✓ Good game but was made more grindyI’ve played this game on and off for many years now, building a sizeable network and connecting most of the ports to cities. Except now I logged in I see that they purposefully made the game a lot grindier by locking away slots for the ports that give you coins. Now you’re forced to spend more to potential get the right tracks you need (which is already difficult). It’s very frustrating since I’ve spent a lot of time and even money on making a lot of diverging tracks and now it’s just meaningless. ✓ Fun but challengingIs there a trick to getting the free daily tile? I haven’t been able to get one in all the months that I have been playing the game. I really do love this game and find myself spending way too much time playing it! I do agree with other reviewers that some of the levels get to be almost impossible and it becomes frustrating, but it would be boring if things didn’t progress and it gives a great sense of achievement when you finally get 4000 in London. One thing that needs to be fixed is the Daily Free Tile—-I haven’t been able to get one yet, as the little wheel just keeps going around and no matter where I click, the tile can’t be claimed. ✓ Fun game, but......I enjoy the game and it’s challenges. As new destinations appeared, and you had to “lay track” to connect this new station. That was part of the fun, the new station would mean a new track layout that would have its own new challenges. The other challenge was to earn money to upgrade the track between locations. This upgraded track allowed delivery of cargo between stations to occur more efficiently, thus generating money buy more upgraded track. This is all great, except that it has been months since a new station was made available. The only objective right now is to upgrade the track. This is getting BORING! I am on the verge of deleting this game. I am to the point that nearly all of my track is upgraded to the top level. Once I achieve that, what is the point of continuing with the game? Develop new stations now! The game is comprised of stations located in European cities. There are plenty of cities left where stations could be created. ✓ Good gameI need to change my previous review as the game doesn't crash anymore. Now with cloud sync even better. The reason I give only 3 stars is because I do not understand how some of the high scores are achieved by other people? On hard* I managed to deliver all trains without losing a star but the score I get is no way near what other achieve. I am not talking few points difference but sometimes double or more. I really do not get it. Do you need to upgrade your trains to get higher score? If that the case then it should be mentioned somewhere and would be a shame as not everybody would spend £5 for trains..... Update: the above still stand. I was playing multiple time in a day. What was making come back was the constant challenge every few hours. Now you have to wait 8 hours to have 2 new challenges. I have all stations connected and all tracks updated. Still have 1350 tiles to build tracks but no new stations..... Slowly loosing interest. I might play 3 times a me if that. Shame as I did really enjoyed it. The game is very challenging and amusing but if you complete all levels on a station there's no option to pick a level when doing challenges while other people haven't completed chaos and get the same challenges completing them easy.Version: 1.3.1

✓ Fun at first but need to pay for things limits how long it’s funFun, quick and challenging at times. But after playing for a while the ability to play new levels takes exponentially longer and longer due to chance and ability to earn new and useful track pieces. If it takes like two days to get a new track and five pieces to get a metal piece from those wooden pieces and the chance of it going in 1 of 6 directions makes it end up theoretically taking weeks to connect future cities. I’d sooner stop playing all together than just paying for pieces that are possibly useful..Version: 1.13.3
✓ Used to be goodThis was a great game but beware of the 100% star mini games that are impossible to complete. Get three of those at once and the game is unplayable. You might as well give up. ✓ Too Difficult to ProgressI LOVED this game at first, however, I got to a certain point where the game was too difficult to progress due to the 3rd levels being way too difficult and how hard it is to get tiles! I seriously always get the tiles that I don’t need. You should be able to collect money and buy the tiles that you want. I wouldn't be so upset about the situation if I didn’t absolutely love the game, but it came to a point where the lack of progression ultimately had me bored with the game and forget about it, only coming back to it about a month or two throughout the years..Version: 1.13.4

I have a number of challenges open which are unachievable ; within the first 5 attempts you’re allowed to get within one of the target but that’s it. Further attempts are interspersed regularly with adverts - the obvious aim of this. And anytime it looks like you might succeed the slower trains are sent in to frustrate your attempt. ✓ New version doesn’t allow cities to be disconnectedI don’t submit many reviews. I’m sure the game is still fun for new players. But for me, the developers changed the nature of the game so dramatically that it’s become a silly waste of time. I had every city/town connected using iron tracks (the middle quality offering) but the changes to the game over the past two updates (I believe) require iron (the highest quality track piece). To obtain steel pieces quickly, I’d like to trade in iron pieces that currently connect cities but do not deliver any cargo to the port. I have 10s of wasted pieces because I cannot disconnect a city from a port. So I’m left to plunk along after having played hours to earn as many iron and steel tiles as I have, well it’s disappointing to say the least. Oh, I did like the change made where you could exchange five identical tiles for that same track piece but at one level above (e.g. trade in five horizontal iron pieces for one horizontal steel piece) but why make the player go thru the ridiculous graphic of the tile machine churning out the new tile. It’s a waste of everyone’s time..Version: 19.0
✓ Wait...it that it?So I just updated the app to ver18 (Sept 2020) and from what I can tell there are no “NEW” ports only “expansions” to existing ports. Come on developers...we waited all this time for an update and there are no new ports????? Based on the new criteria you’ve implemented to unlock new port slots (keys), it will require more special tiles (iron and alloy) and more $$$ for those who purchase tiles. Was REALLY hoping for more in this update given it’s a great game, however, I can’t spend time “replaying” the same game over just to unlock new port slots.Version: 18.0

Now every time I trade wooden tiles in for iron, I get a horizontal piece that I have no use for. I wonder why? Maybe I have to spend money? Get real creators! This game is a fail. ✓ More stationsIt’s a nice game, but if you want to really go anywhere with it you have to pay to get the right tracks. That being said the tracks are a bit pricy for the amount you get. And it would be nice to know what other cities can be unlocked. ✓ End of the line ...Sadly the game seems to come to an abrupt end where you have completed everything and hooked up all stations. Developers promise updates but like real trains they seem to operate their own timetable and subject to delays. Free daily login bonus no longer obtainable so hints at developers forcing you to buy additional assets. The game was fun whilst it lasted but I would seriously recommend to anyone thinking about investing in this to keep their hands in their pockets as it truly is not worth spending anything in game..Version: 17.2.16082
