✓ Worst Support ImaginableIs a good product, but my trial expired and have been trying to purchase. Unable to do purchase on iPhone, iPad or website. Call the help desk and just get passed around in Indian call centre circles with nobody being able to help or even understand. ✓ Good in theoryI got this because I have a year subscription with McAfee but this app has never synced with desktop app, i have to manually add/copy/paste between phone and laptop then passwords that weren’t added with the initial import disappear. I’ve been locked out of accounts and the browser extension kills my browser every single time but since removing it I get prompted to re add every time I use the app. Very frustrating app that i probably won’t keep after my 1 year.Version: 5.1.0

✓ Appalling!!!So McAffee decide to change authentication with no notice, immediately requiring the Master Key to log in. With that set to a strong complex password and kept many miles away in a locked vault I am unable to access my secret info at a critical point in time, not because of any error on my part, other than expecting McAffee to not change the goalposts IN A LIVE PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENT ON A WHIM. ✓ Great Interface / Some BugsI would really like to use this app as it integrates with Apple Touch ID and The fingerprint scanner in my Lenovo ThinkPad. I am evaluating it against LastPass and like the interface better but have concerns on overall security of both since they are online/cloud based solutions. ✓ Either the best or the worstThis app can’t even send me a reset email because I forgot my password. Face check, ok, finger print, ok. But no password = death. You can’t even get help from support staff. It’s a good thing I guess. But I don’t see why it can’t sent me a reset email. Don’t forget your master password like I did foolishly. Also. The app doesn’t sync passwords always. I was logged in on my phone and changed a lot of passwords on the PC. It started to ask me for my password on PC all of a sudden. And BAM. I’m locked out. ✓ Constantly signs outIt’s great having an app that remembers and even autofills my passwords. However, I find that it signs itself out far too often. I have it set to automatically sign out after a week, but after a couple days, I already have to sign back in. ✓ Good appThere's got to be a better way than passwords, and this is at least a start. Good on web-sites, not so good on apps. It allows you to have strong different passwords for each of your websites, so if one is compromised you don't have to go and change all the others. The face recognition works, but it's a bit of a gimmick that doesn't add to security (it recognises a photo as valid, so anyone who has a smart phone photo of you can get into your computer) - but it is fun. Does finger-print recognition on phones, which is good. I like it, and I hope it'll improve - and I hope it won't end up costing much! So, three stars for now; better app support and better facial recognition will get it to 4 or 5..Version: 3.1.9

✓ Thanks for screwing recently usedSince I was forced switch to True Key prom password box, the option "recently used" work like sh** you have to open it in app and instead of just copying the password. ✓ Hopeless customer serviceCurrently using a free version and wanted to buy a premium version but couldn’t do it via app. So I opted for support and I was diverted to chat support online. First the guy was from a web support so he was not able to support after writing him all story and he transferred me to mobile support division and the guy also read all my issues written and told me he can support as it’s a sales issue. So purchase department will help again tried transferring me to purchase department but it didn’t connected and I had to close the chat and still problem not resolved. I don’t know how the company like McAfee make this kind of app with out any support. I wish could have given ZERO star..Version: 3.3.4

I press forgot password but is need an trusted device but I don’t have any of a trusted device and I can’t log in!!!! I am very disappointed from McAfee because they are not great. ✓ Lost passwordsIt’s a very noticeable downgrade in quality if you come from a password manager like LastPass or 1Password. Unfortunately given the complexity of some forms taking multi step authentication I’ve had many cases where the password has been overwritten automatically to be the OTP and without rollback or history there is no way of recovering passwords. As well as that, I have had multiple cases where the password manager just doesn’t work and provides some ambiguous message like ‘an unexpected error, please try again’ so I then have to manually go into the app find the password for the app I want and copy it over. 2 things that they need to improve on: 1. Allow a person to turn off auto save at the account level for every current and new password. 2. Fix the password fill prompt.Version: 6.1.3

✓ Good app but still needs a bit work :)This seems to integrate well with safari and looks good when the websites are properly registered showing icons etc I like that. Couple of little bugs that stop me rating it higher. I cannot add folders, I'd like to be able to add folders for such things as personal passwords or work passwords etc. Becomes hard to manage large amounts of passwords otherwise. I have a premium version, every time I log in I'm prompted to tell me I'm premium. I don't need prompting to tell me, just as bad as prompting to tell me I've not paid. ✓ Will not show wallet items browser on iPad awfulIndicates that 9 items in wallet but not show them. When open a login the back and forward icons are rediculous. ✓ Can’t update your email - problematicMy email changed after having this account for several years. Then I got a new iPhone. The double confirmation system went to my old iPhone and my old email so I couldn’t get into my account. After calling customer support and getting disconnected three times they said all they could do is delete all of my passwords and start over. My phone number never changed. I could prove my identify but that’s all they gave me. So I agreed. They still haven’t made the chance a day later. So I can’t get into my old account and can’t start my new one. ✓ Great password managerI like the fact that I don’t have to remember passwords anymore. I feel better about my online footprint and feel less hackable. The only drawback about this is that the True Key app doesn’t work with iOS apps. So to enter a password into an app, you have to open the True Key app and copy/paste the password into the app. That itself isn’t too cumbersome, but there may be times where the app you’re entering the password in doesn’t allow copy/paste, which means you have to switch back and forth to type the password. ✓ Can’t even loginI use this on PC with no issues but trying to use the app on iOS was just frustrating. I can’t even login to this thing. I put in the login information, it sends me an email to verify, I confirm via the email, it then pops up the mcafee site saying access is granted I go back to the app and nothing. ✓ Very Annoying.The app does not store updated passwords correctly. It also doesn’t understand if you want to store 2 passwords for websites that have similar domains. The end result is that the next time you visit a website that you’ve just updated its password it will be incorrect and you’ll have to type it or reset it. Also the face detect feature to log in does not work and if you forget your master password you can suddenly be permanently locked out of your account. ✓ Doesn’t work half the timeThis has been my go to password app for several years. However, now it doesn’t work correctly. Seems since they decided make it an extraction of browsers, I’ve had nothing but issues with the product. Logged into it today on my phone. And none of the links work on the app. Probably since the apps not been updated for over a year. I won’t be renewing my paid subscription when it’s due. There are many other apps that work much better than this one. Paid and free versions. Whether you want all the bells and whistles. Or just the basics. ✓ DisappointedNever use this app with an Apple phone. Mcafee decided not to support face recognization and auto deleted my login. If you forget your password you will not be able to reset the master password. I called customer service and no one knew how to support the issue. It been a month and I’m still not able to reset my password. When you click the reset master password and go to email to reset password from link it does nothing but set at a frozen screen the locks after 2 attempts. I wish I had never trusted this app with my passwords and when my subscription is up I will look to find a better virus protection app..Version: 5.0.1
✓ Multi factor authentication mobile notification doesn’t workI’m unhappily having to change back to single factor authentication. 2nd factor mobile notification has never been received and I have no way of checking/changing if the mobile number used is incorrect. Using email fallback rarely works because the website doesn’t wait long enough for me to open the email and tap the button. The fact that the website doesn’t explain that the email must be opened on the 2nd device is another fail. McAfee needs to do better..Version: 6.1.3

I have no idea how these alerts, messages, etc are coming to me in the first place. Perhaps I had purchased a product from you years ago and you have just been nagging me ever since. Since I have no recollection of how you would have gotten my name and contact information, please advise me as to how we will get my information off of your system. Before you eliminate that information, I would like to request, in readable format, all of the information that you have on me or my account. ✓ Lacking iOS 12 auto fill featureInstalled trial today. Was very intrigued by the product however was very surprised and disappointed that it doesn’t yet support the new iOS 12 auto fill features. The product LastPass already has incorporated it into their product and it is awesome. The only drawback to LastPass is that it doesn’t do the facial recognition on the PC. TrueKey does the facial recognition on the PC- VERY good feature. If TrueKey had the iOS 12 features I would have given this review 5 stars AND already be migrating everything over from LastPass. But they don’t and from what I can see in the community posts they said they would in August and still nothing. ☹️.Version: 4.1.0
✓ Decent But could do betterI am willing to raise my star rating once a few features have been added. 1. Allow passwords to be added that aren’t associated with a website. I am unable to save the password without placing a valid formatted URL. Can we elect to not add the URL at all? 2. Add a folder structure. For example, maybe I want all my bank information in a folder separated from the rest. Or even all my passwords related to my job separate from my personal passwords. 3. ✓ Works But Inadequate Feature SetAfter repeatedly trying to add a new login/password entry from my iPhone, I figured out the only way the app will allow you to save an entry is to associate it with a website. Save button stays inactive until a correctly formatted URL is entered. McAfee support’s response to this was to not add a login entry but create a note. I was also told that no other password managers allow you to create a login account from IOS. Later found a review stating this issue from two years ago along with suggesting they add a folder capability. None of these suggestions were taken into consideration. It’s a shame because they are valid features and without them I don’t have much interest in continuing to use the application..Version: 6.0.1

✓ Not a happy userI have used True Key since 2018 and have recommended it to several people.In the last month I have had a few issues and am reluctant to continue to use the product because it has become quite unstable.I initially had difficulty logging in on my IPHONE.I checked my account on my IPAD and it was showing that the account was no longer linked to the phone. ✓ Disappointment After Two Years with TrueKey – Needs ImprovementI’ve been a TrueKey user for over two years, and while the concept of the app initially appealed to me, my experience has been far from satisfactory. The promise of seamless sign-ins is great, but in reality, it falls short. Every attempt to use TrueKey on my iPhone, whether for web or app logins, results in the same frustrating error message: “Unexpected error has occurred. Please try again.” Selecting TrueKey over iCloud Keychain should be a smooth process, but it’s anything but. The app only signs me in half the time, and its inconsistency is a major drawback. Its buggy and faulty nature makes me question its reliability compared to other password managers. With my subscription nearing its end, I’m seriously considering switching to a different service. A product should deliver on its promises, and unfortunately, TrueKey doesn’t. It fails to function properly, even in basic tasks like opening. ✓ Buyer Beware hidden restrictions and costsI recently purchased the “Total Protection” bundle for McAfee, which if you go by the misleading details on their website looks like you get the use of the bundle across 10 devices. After purchase I contacted McAfees helpdesk to then be informed that the bundle only includes the use of the ‘Password Manager” app on 5 devices. None of the information on McAfees sales website explained this. After much discussion they admitted that they had not provided this information prior to purchase preventing an informed purchase from being made. They then offered an additional 2 months subscription free, but still only with the 5 device limit which totalled ~£4 which does not seem reasonable, considering you would have to purchase additional licences for True Key at £25/yr for a maximum of 2 additional Devices. Not a great experience and would expect better from a company like McAfee. Posting this to help prevent others falling for this hidden commercial trap..Version: 6.1.3

✓ Reliability IssuesGreat when it works, hit and miss if it wants to work when you need it to actually fill in login details though… Often it says ‘unexpected error’, sometimes it works fine, sometimes insists you’re offline when you aren’t, and sometimes just hangs. Great when it works, I just wish it worked consistently! The dreaded ‘an error occurred’ message is far too frequent. Also, the login via the Chrome browser for iOS (when TrueKey has logged itself out), doesn’t work, ever. You always need to close Chrome, log back in via the TrueKey app, and return to Chrome, where it’ll usually then work ok. Overall, a bit of a faff..Version: 6.1.3

✓ Tough choice when there are so many other great password managersI recently began using this with McAfee. I have used the password manager from Dashlane and Kaspersky , truekey is a poor performer The integration between a phone I’d request and use on the laptop does not work . There is no Face ID on iPhone to make access user friendly and if the phone is being linked to open the app on the desktop atleast make it work . There appears to be no communication on the desktop with any ancillary device like your phone that is used. Logging on the desktop , not user friendly as there are no options to keep you logged in 2 factor authentication via phone numbers and text messaging does not even appear to exhist The advanced option for 2 FA is a joke with no availability to use any of the Authenticator apps. Given a choice of apps , I would not recommend this as it is a poorly conceived password manager. The designers are behind the curve , they can see how others have done a great job and just duplicate some of the aspects that work or even attempts to improve upon it.Version: 6.1.3

✓ Sadly, safe notes not available offline !!App works fine but if you try to open safe notes when in airplane offline mode the notes are not working, apparently the tech support says the notes can not be seen when offline so keep in mind you won't be able to check notes unless connected to internet so I think this is a disappointment for some who would rely on this, imagine storing your key combination for your suitcase and not being able to open it while travelling. Only the top portion of the note is visible so make sure you store it there. The note when open just closes within less than a second. TrueKey is basically a paid product so this limitation is serious because I may not see it as serious with some freemium or free tools. ✓ No idea how to upgradeThe app is fine. A bit clunky, signs me out a bit too often, but perfectly functional and has definitely encouraged me to more security-focused. I got it free with BT broadband, but I’ve since left and want to upgrade to the premium service. For the life of me I can’t work out how to do it. ✓ UselessAs a PasswordBox user, I tried to migrate to TrueKey due to the forthcoming closure of PasswordBox and the more recent, positive reviews of the TrueKey app. However, TrueKey refuses to accept my PasswordBox log-in details - despite the promise I could log in using those details and data would be migrated across. I cannot even delete passwords from PasswordBox. I therefore cannot recommend TrueKey, and have now found an alternative password manager app which works very well for me (and in which I can easily amend/delete passwords if I wish to do so). I have submitted an online request to TrueKey asking for my PasswordBox account and data to be deleted - there not being any online option available for me to do this..Version: 3.3.1

✓ Cant connect to servers?There’s a dependency for the app to connect to servers on the internet before being able to access the vaults. The app hangs indefinitely if it cant get to the servers, not ideal when the reason for accessing the app is to access passwords that are required at that moment..Version: 6.1.3
✓ TERRIBLE!If I could give it no stars I would. I migrated my data from Password Box (which was a great app) only to find that I couldn't have access to any of my 'wallet' information (where I stored my passport details, drivers license etc) on ANY mobile device (phone/iPad). I only use this app on my mobile device! I use it so I can have access to that sort of information if I am overseas and my wallet gets stolen. I did try to load the app onto my iMac but it didn't work at all on the iMac. The support was terrible. They said they would call me back the next day between a 2 hr times slot when I was at work. Useless. Run away from this app..Version: 3.1.8
