✓ Was good. What happened?!As a subscriber to an internet package, I use this app for my handheld devices. I don’t know what you’ve done, but overnight the app has decided to not work! This app now disconnects me from my home WiFi, and gets stuck connecting/disconnecting & doesn’t actually do anything. Just says “oops, something went wrong”. Hhhmmm. The cynic in me thinks it’s because you have the other app which now restricts how much data you will allow under vpn protection. I hope this is not so?!.Version: 2.12.0

✓ LONG delays & CONSTANT timing out when using McAfee Safe Connect.I have trusted the quality of McAfee products for many many years. Sadly, this VPN software is SO SLOW it causes major timing out problems in trying to connect and stay connected. At first I thought it was the Wi-Fi networks that I routinely use in numerous locations that were causing the problems. In the testing I have done, the pattern is very clear. REGARDLESS of where I am, I must turn off this program to be able to connect and run ANY application I have. I can even sit directly in front of my high speed modem at home and get timed out. This occurs in my home with my private high speed network, in any other location, and in other cities when I travel. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. This performance exposes me to great security risks. When I TURN OFF McAfee Safe Connect, I can always IMMEDIATELY process again at high speeds. I had hoped that when Intel purchased McAfee that the products would rise to even higher standards. It has been long enough now, and there is no improvement. I have been in the computer field for over 20 years, and the last computer services company I ran had 2000 employees and a $200 million annual budget. ✓ Breach within system, recent update errorsI just recently updated to the current version of this app. I have been a victim of a cyber crime and to which the majority of my apps and built in programs are compromised. Even though I have contacted other governmental authorities and agencies on the matter, with this recent update it has been problematic but ensures me that someone whom had access to my I.S.P., IMEI, Sim Card, Cloning or any other possibilities for intrusion has caused a serious security breach on your software application. Upon this recent update the screen has froze unable to utilize the system at its full capacity. ✓ Never works.I am currently overseas for a period of time and purchased this VPN service to protect my information. Since I have started using the app it has given me nothing but trouble. While it works half the time on my laptop (Windows) it almost never works on my iPhone. There are two major issues with it. The first issue is that it will continually fail to connect to the VPN servers. When it does, it will disconnect from them frequently causing you to have to manually reconnect. The second issue is the app itself. When the app is opened, it will not pull up the drop down menu to select which server to connect to. This is especially frustrating if the server you have already selected won’t connect. When attempting to reach any sort of customer support, the app will only bring up an error screen. ✓ Just look at the activity log....I ABSOLUTELY would not recommend McAfee for protecting your devices, for instance, when I click on 'see reports' for my activity, it shows basically a light switch showing protected and unprotected. In my head, I'm thinking I'll see a detailed report showing me how I'm protected. I honestly feel like I signed up for a scam site, with just the overall poor quality of the website development. ✓ Software switches my emailThis has been very frustrating. The email I use and set up with businesses I have noticed is being forwarded to my iCloud email. The businesses I have noticed without my permission or request change my settings to the iCloud email. At first I couldn’t figure out what was happening, I was even told by one business that my correct email was not on their system. I even contacted Apple support. Plus I was notified when an upgrade was done and that took time to figure out how to fix. Great time of year to feel unsafe. Then, only 250mgs are used for an entire month, you have to upgrade. I paid for an entire year last May, now all these changes have been implemented which is different than what I paid for. ✓ VPN does not work properlyEveryone should be verifying their VPN is actually working with an outside source. Mine only works some of the time. Although my IPhone will show the VPN is on at the top of the phone and in settings, it is not always working. When my VPN is working, my prime video will always tell me to turn off my VPN in order to stream a movie. Unfortunately, many times my phone will show my VPN is on but my prime video shows it is not on. Even after Mcafee had me install a second app “safe connect ,” it still only works part of the time. I canceled it through the app twice, kept getting charged, then called in to make them stop charging me. They said they would cancel it but, they did not, and continued to charge me. ✓ Terrible Order Experience and Customer ServiceI tried to sign up for a free seven-day trial and was charged for a year. The charge showing on my account history didn’t have an amount showing and had a different order number than the one in my email receipt, and I spent almost 40 minutes trying to get it cancelled and refunded in what should have been a five-minute call at most. I also was unaware that Safe Connect is only for iOS and Windows, excluding Mac OS, which totally defeats the purpose for multiple device coverage for Mac users. ✓ VPN never worksMcAfee has the worst VPN service on my cell phone. I checked in settings that it always remain on and it never does. When I’m in another location I have to turn it on because it’s not on. I am constantly having to turn on my VPN service. ✓ Good idea, but buggy with zero supportI spend a lot of time in hotels, and thought this app thinking that a software VPN from an established security developer would solve all my problems. It did... when it worked. The app itself is very slick and very intuitive. The GUI is friendly and it’s very easy to see your status at a glance. It’s also easy for more advanced users to dig further and tweak. The problem is that it kept dropping connection. When it came back up, although it showed me as having a subscription, it only gave me the trial version volume of data. No problem, I’ll contact tech support. Here is your challenge: find a tech support page for this app anywhere on the Internet. It’s strange, because I’ve always had very good luck with McAffee tech support, but there is no contact page for this app. After several hours, I gave up and contacted the chat line for another McAffee app, and had them transfer me to the specialist. I was up and running again in minutes. Trouble is, this happened again. And again. And again. Each time I had to spend time trying to find tech support. I KNOW it exists, I KNOW they are good... but I don’t have the time to mess around with this crap.
