Contraction Timer - Time labor for Negative User Reviews

Useable but flawed when could easily be improvedExtremely aggressive rating review requests right off the bat Cannot delete entries which is annoying if you accidentally pressed start.Version: 2.3.3

Them popups thoughIt does the job, but.. What I absolutely hated though was that during, what I as a first time dad found one of the most stressful times in my life, I continually got interrupted with popup adds to purchase their other apps as well. Nobody in need of this app has time for that right then and there!.Version: 2.3.3

Intrusive and inappropriate notificationsAsks for app ratings and pushes other services EVERY TIME the app is touched. Do you know when I don't need or want to be asked to rate your app? During the time between each and every contraction. I'll go to a different app next time..Version: 2.3.3

TerribleI have to admit I downloaded this while in the midst of contractions so maybe I didn’t investigate it enough but I found it so confusing! I couldn’t tell what the numbers meant - if they were the length of contraction or the time in between...! And so I ended up leaving for the hospital probably too late! Would not recommend sadly..Version: 2.2.3

Easy and straightforwardThis app is very simple and easy to use—accomplishes just what you need it to. My only problem with it is that when it times how far apart the contractions are, it seems to record from the beginning of one contraction to the end of the next one, rather than beginning to beginning like you are supposed to. I know this because before you press start it shows a timer that is tracking the time since the last contraction. For instance, the timer might read 6 minutes when you press start, but when it is over the time recorded is 7 minutes. It is supposed to go by when the contraction started, not ended. If it has been 6 minutes since the previous contraction when you press start, that’s the time that should be recorded..Version: 2.2.3

Good appLooks good. Just making sure I don’t get asked for a review at the worst time!.Version: 2.3.3

4th laborIt times your contractions and tells you how far apart they are. I wish it wasn’t a slider for the intensity but 5 buttons, as when your in the zone tapping is much easier than sliding..Version: 2.3.3

Prompt for reviews during contrations… niceYou asked multiple times for a review at the worst time, so you got one.Version: 2.3.3

Duuuuuude, quit it with the notificationsDon’t ask me to download other apps or review right now. I’m literally in the peak of discomfort and now I associate that with you. Bad marketing. Send a sweet followup in the days after we’re done using the app with a congratulations or something. Good lord..Version: 2.3.3

Wanted me review while in labourIt kept asking me to rate the app between every contraction. Had to stop using it after a few because it was such a pain. Would have been fine if that wasn’t happening..Version: 2.3.3

Easy to use just needs more optionsEasy to use, just needs the in between time a bit bigger and able to delete entries or alter them if you couldn’t get to your phone in time.Version: 2.2.3

Not the damn time to asks for a ratingI’m having contractions and it’s asking me to rate it and then asking me to download more things..Version: 2.3.3

Better Now Than Later- ReviewJust doing what 90% of the reviewers are doing and trying to avoid a pop-up mid-labour. Here’s your review Contraction Timer…app looks easy enough to use so far….three stars for me having to do this..Version: 2.3.3

Required ReviewJust reviewing this so I can use the app.Version: 2.3.3

Surprisingly - Adverts not helpful in labourRegardless of the quality of the ‘contraction stop watch’ - the repeated request to rate the app & the full screen takeover of (in our case) a ‘click here to get your tickets to Brighton music festival ‘ made this a very disrupted experience. When - to be frank - you need it least. Would suggest looking elsewhere rather than risk having your precious attention exploited in exchange for something that - let’s be honest - is not the most sophisticated app in the world.....Version: 2.1.4

Will tell you what you need to know! This app was useful for timing my contractions and determining when I needed to go to the hospital. You must know what to look for as you deem yourself ready or not. It would be helpful if the app provided recommendations for when you should pay attention to your contractions and go in to hospital (when they could be a sign of active labor). Also, extremely annoying to be asked to rate the app every few minutes when I was dealing with tracking my contractions. The worst time to rate an app!.Version: 2.1.4

Works as advertisedWould recommend disabling notifications as they spam you with ads for some other app.Version: 2.3.3

Stop hassling me to review in the middle of labourThis worked okay and has a fairly decent interface, but it simply wouldn’t stop nagging me to review it when we were right in the middle of labour and concentrating on tracking painful contractions. It was absolutely the last thing we needed and got in the way of the one job we needed it for. Would also be good if there was a better graphical representation/summary of previous contractions over time..Version: 2.1.4

AnnoyingPersistently asking for ratings and upgrades during labour - ridiculously inappropriate timing!.Version: 2.1.4

Fine but stop prompting for reviews till laterThis app is good but when users will first use this (eg myself) is when we actually need it and are going through the pain of contractions. Would have been great if this app stops prompting for reviews until days later and not at first use....Version: 2.1.4

Easy to use. Could use some improvements. This app is very simple and easy to use. When one is having a contraction this is much appreciated. Where I think it falls short is in access and the graphs. Having the app be available on the lock screen would certainly bring it up a level. Sometimes unlocking ones phone doesn’t happen upon first attempt. Add in having a contraction and frustration ensues. By the time you get to the app the contraction is half over (I realize you can manually adjust the time of the contraction, but hear me out) Next, the graphs. I would recommend seeking a consultant for help on how best to lay out the data. Currently it doesn’t make sense. The time shouldn’t be on the y-axis..Version: 2.1.3

DecentIt does exactly what it says in the tin, but we had an issue with it. The phone screen locks itself to save battery between and during long contractions. Every single time without fail the app then sent us a notification about their follow up app, the baby tracker. We eventually turned off the notifications but maybe this isn’t the best time to be trying to spoon feed your new app to a woman experiencing contractions? 🤷🏻‍♂️.Version: 2.1.4

Good but AnnoyingIt does what it’s supposed to but it’s super annoying in labour being asked for a review. And to install their other app..Version: 2.3.3

Try a different app...Mom of soon to be 7- Ease of quick tapping the start/stop is nice but there is so much randomness on the screen that you can only see a few of your recent contractions at once. Instead at least a quarter of the screen is unneeded adds for other apps. Plus extra screen area taken up by a weird non-useful space consuming graph at the top. If you get a semi slow start to tapping the start button you can't roll it back by a few seconds, you have to go back an entire minute, which throws off the closest bit of accuracy. There are other apps that focus more on showing your contractions and even have additional screen options to use for things like graphs (that are useful) and extras. Pick one of those and save yourself the frustration. No mommy in labor wants frustrating add and gunk. Get ease of timing elsewhere!.Version: 2.3.3

ReviewWow in labour great timing with the review.Version: 2.3.3

Keeps asking to write review during use!Even though I have a review early on (to avoid this) it continued to ask me during labour!.Version: 2.3.3

Poor planningThe idea behind apps like this is good but at the time you need something like this the most you don’t want to be fighting with your phone and the app. Why has someone not thought about adding an option to disable the phone lock for an app like this? Why should I be fighting to unlock the phone or keep it unlocked while I’m trying to record a contraction? This app was infuriating at a time that it needed to be as simple as possible. Would not recommend this app..Version: 2.1.4

Works fine but demands a rating during contractions! The functionality of app is fine and it works well. Would be better to remove the ads, and given that the app will be used during early labour don’t try requesting a rating until a couple of days later!.Version: 2.3.3

Watch app data does not syncI have been using my Apple Watch as well as my iPhone to time contractions. Both seemed to be working until I looked at the data today and noticed that although the app seems to work on the watch, none of the contractions registered from the watch port over to the app on my iPhone, so those were completely nonexistent in my contraction timeline and data, making the information useless. It’s incredibly annoying. So only the contractions registered from my phone show up in the contractions list. I’ve verified that the app is listed in my watch list and everything. If you plan to only use your iPhone then this app will work fine for you..Version: 2.1.4

Untimely request to review appThis app did exactly what I needed it to do, timed my contractions, and did the math for me as to how long were between each one. It is very user friendly (important when in the heat of contractions!) with a simple interface. Outlines the contractions nicely and gives the option to pick intensity of the contraction. It lost two stars from me, because as I’m in the middle of contractions, and trying to focus on breathing through, and starting and stopping the timer, it was asking me to review the app. That is not the time to be requesting reviews. It would pop up mid contraction and I’d have to close it before stoping the timer. Otherwise, I do recommend this app for easily tracking contractions, just please stop asking for reviews during labour lol..Version: 2.3.3

AnnoyingConstantly trying to send notifications and asking for reviews whilst in labour is extremely annoying..Version: 2.3.3

Poor timingLike the app, low stars because WHILE a pregnant woman is timing a contraction is NOT the time to interrupt and ask for a review!.Version: 2.2.3

Annoying when in labourI keep getting a notification to download the paediatrician application and I agree, it would be better if the start timer was the whole screen. It’s annoying trying to press it when pains are coming on..Version: 2.2.3

We’ll seeLeaving a review so it doesn’t ask while I’m in labor… hopefully they change how they ask reviews so no one has to do that before using the app..Version: 2.3.3

Stop asking me for rating during contractionsThe app is good, however the last thing you want to do during your contractions is to close the rating app window every time you open the app!.Version: 2.3.3

Poor UIInsisting on a rating to ‘remove’ another banner gets you a poor rating. The user interface is basic, yes, that’s helpful sometimes, but in comparisons to other contraction timers out there it is poor and clunky. I tried this one as it has Apple Watch, but won’t be continuing to use it. Deleting it before labour starts..Version: 2.1.3

Too many requests for reviewToo many requests for review during labour.Version: 2.3.3

OkayDoes the job but when I use the watch it messes up the record. Even if I click stop it would still keep recording..Version: 2.3.3

RatingAsks to be rated between more than an average contraction ffs… app is useful though.Version: 2.3.3

Writing review so app stops askingWriting review so app stops asking.Version: 2.3.3

Annoying add and rating notifications!!!Great easy to use app but highly frustrating that you’re bombarded with spam from developer asking you to rate the app AND to use their “paediatrician approved baby tracker”. Not the kind of crap you need when you’re in labour and trying to figure out what’s going on with your body. Still can’t figure out how to stop it so have stopped using it for another app. My partner downloaded it on his google phone and had no adds compared to mine on iPhone. Why is there a difference??.Version: 2.1.4

GreatSimple to use.Version: 2.3.3

Too many notificationsThe app is fine for tracking contractions, it works great, but for the love of god I wish it would stop asking me every 10 minutes if I want to download their baby tracker app. No. I don’t want the baby tracker. If I did then I would’ve downloaded it one of the first 10 times it asked me if I wanted it. It’s annoying especially when I’m in labor and don’t want to constantly have notifications for nothing on my phone when I’m waiting on important calls and texts from family, my midwife, and my doula..Version: 2.3.3

Sends too many notifications and demands you do a reviewThis app is helpful but at a price. When your partner having contractions in a stressful.Version: 2.3.3

The worstThis app not only asks you repeatedly for a rating WHILE you are in labour, but when you fave and do it between contractions, and makes you think of a unique nick name in order to submit and I was told about five time the name was taken before I typed a load of rubbish and it got approved. The last thing you need when you’re in labour. Also got served constant ads about private cesarians which having contractions - again not something you want to be thinking about when you’re just trying to get into the right headspace are home. Otherwise, it’s a good timer, as I’m sure they all are 🤷‍♀️.Version: 2.2.3
