✓ Horrible, just horrible.The new version is horrible. Half of everything doesn't work. Most of the interface/graphics are all messed up and you can't use any items out of your bag. I opened a ticket and they gave me A canned response saying to check the FAQ. I replied and then they said they have an update to fix it. No update so far. Overall. I like the game. It's definitely a game with an importance on spending money to get ahead. but it's not a requirement to be successful if you don't. Oh. their customer service is horrendous. ✓ My thoughtsThe whole game itself is very enjoyable but some upgrades are ridiculous when it comes to what is required and the amount needed. The main one is the turrets that need upgrading using the arrows. You pay a very high price to just upgrade 1 level could you not have other means of getting them such as packages or from the dragon or even from the ruins etc. Also can we not have the ability to move buildings around and or plots such as military tents etc without having to use a single Move go ,which gives you only 1 swap. ✓ Best game like itI’ve played this game on and off with different accounts for about 4 years and the reason I keep coming back to it is because no matter how well rated the new strategy/empire games are, none of them are as fun or anywhere near as visually satisfying as CoK. The layout is simple but the designs are beautifully done and the animations are satisfying to watch. The online community is active and well monitored and despite having a huge number of players, the game avoids becoming impossible to progress on the leaderboards by having multiple kingdoms so growth is completely possible. Surprisingly this game is much less pay to win as some players say, I’ve spent money on the game before with some accounts but recently I’ve tried not spending any and it’s only fractionally slower to progress. Most of the items you buy are purely aesthetic accept for a few that give you supplies such as wood and food which is helpful for upgrading your buildings. The key to succeeding on CoK isn’t spending cash, it’s simply putting time into it, and the game is absorbent enough for that to be nothing but enjoyable. (Especially with the current lockdowns on non-essential travel and work in most countries at the moment). The one time I experienced an error in the game, I was immediately compensated by the customer service team. Clash of kings is in my opinion the best game of its kind on the market and is perfect for people of all ages. It’s a great, fun way to kill time and the community is fantastic. My only suggestion is that players can currently buy items in the tavern, but I would enjoy there being a way to also sell unwanted items for supplies, I’ve spoken to a few other players who agree with me on this and I think it would be a good thing to include in the next update..Version: 5.27.0

I used to play this a while back and just recently downloaded it again but I remember you got to pick which civilization you wanted near the start and then you could switch later on. Options like Yamato and Viking and stuff but now I can’t even open the civilization temple? There are complaints from people that enough isn’t given to play for free players. I haven’t found this. I will never be an overlord, there are people willing spend serious £££ to grow fast. ✓ Wonderful War GameFirst off all the advertisements for this game are false. The game in nothing like advertised. Second~ the amount of hackers in this game is insane. You will be constantly attacked by hackers. I would also like to mention that the battle mechanics are set up so that only people who put large sums of money into the game win. Even if you are able to amass a 60k army some dude who spent money to get better troops will come by with the same sized army and only loose 4K men while you loose all. Another thing to mention is the healing process. Once your army is in the hospitals it takes weeks to gain enough resources to heal them. The last thing would be the teleporting system. All the people who spend money on this game are constantly teleporting to different weaker players. They teleport right next to you. They have a 10 second travel time so you have no chance to save your army or anything. Honestly you will like the game at first. You'll probably put some money into it. I put 30 dollars into it. But once you stop putting money into the game you will be attacked constantly. The developers have no idea what they are doing with this game... Don't waste your time or money..Version: 4.13.0
✓ HmmmI’ve just recently played the game again and actually it’s not to bad. In 2 weeks I managed to get castle lvl 15. And no I didn’t spend any money. The game overall is fun despite there being castle lvl 26 the minute I started the game, in a kingdom that couldn’t have started more than a few days before. It is a lot more fun to play, there’s more to do and things have gotten easier. However one problem; I switched accounts after the app saying that my account was bound to Facebook and was safe. I’ve been trying to log back onto the account failing miserably. The account was secure and linked to Facebook because it said so and I shared the Christmas share thing. So it must’ve been linked. I hope the developers figure something out in future so that we can gain our account back easier and with less hassle. Furthermore, I’ve been trying to link another Facebook to the account and it’s not letting me do even that. Because all that shows up is an old account that was created several years ago. Maybe make it easier for us to log in and out. Still I’ve lost two week of work, which is disheartening but I’m going to continue playing cause the game is very fun..Version: 4.14.0

✓ Could be betterI did enjoy it until I realised that the players hold grudges on random alliances and just bully low levels. I am only castle level 26 and people just spam raid me every day also recently they did a kingdom merger but then all it did was waist my gold and items it also killed all my troops. Low levels are restricted into worse alliances than everyone else. Also for some reason the game made everything huge so you couldn’t see anything. ✓ Good GameVery few games like this are able to keep me coming back but this one does it. It’s entertaining and you don’t have to hyper focus to keep advancing. Some things I would change is the UI lay out, it’s very crowded and it feels overwhelming at times with how much is on my screen. Drop rates for hero’s seem a bit low, I do play a lot of gacha games because I am a degenerate, do I say increase the drop rate for lower tier hero's so people can fill up the chain of command feature faster. ✓ Solid but needs tweaksReally good game but it beads to major tweaks, them been firstly, drop the cost of advanced teleport by 1000 or make it easier to obtain somehow, this is a problem as it makes it difficult for an alliance to be together. Secondly, when supporting an ally, your troops should be considered as part of the castles garrison and have the same rate of casualty as those troops would have if they were part of the garrison. You need money to fight money and you cannot hide troops to build your power. You have to log in every few hours to move your troops around and keep an active shield (more money) to ward off the larger players. I was the 11th strongest player and built the #1 alliance - which was torn apart by three players who dumped a lot of money into the game (or hacked it for nearly unlimited gold). ELEX needs to come up with a formula that separates the big money spenders from the others who play the game on a budget. I have finally reached a P5 castle and can’t even stand up to some of these people who have spent tons of money and marvel army’s that number in the hundreds of millions. Fair? Not at all. ELEX is certainly entitled to a profit. I don’t care how big a profit they make either. You just need to separate these massive castles that have spent hundreds and thousands of dollars building their castles from the rest of the players. I’m really tired of loosing my entire army and everything else to one of these monsters. I do spend $$$ on this game and so do most of the players. We will leave this game in time if a separation of such extreme powers can’t be done. We love the game and the friends we have made while playing. ✓ No longer Worth The Effort (1 star)I’ve been playing for over 2 years. I can’t even begin to explain how many things have changed with this game in that time. I remember when you could reasonably play this game for free, but this is no longer the case. I was lucky enough to get my castle up before all the “new” features were added. I have seen every redeeming quality about this game turned into a cash grab. Things that used to be randomized with white-gold quality’s (with the option to further upgrade), now all start as white quality, and you HAVE to upgrade them. No more chances of getting some gold quality stuff. <—— similar things have happened, and the exact reason why I’ve written this review again. I just found out today when purifying dragon glass, you no longer have a chance of getting an white, orange, gold, etc. quality bonus, every spin just gives a white quality, that you must then upgrade. They are taking away everything in an attempt to really squeeze every penny out of the “heavy users”. This game is almost criminal in its structure. The gear gets expensive though (up to $200 for a competitive set) so I wish the drop rates for materials enabled true crafting rather than frustrated you into buying. ✓ FunI am enjoying the game. It has so many things to do. But some of the instructions are hard to understand. I wish they would simplify the way to get more marches. To me, that is the best part of the game. But if your army is tied up helping an alliance member fight, you can’t do any fighting for yourself. And their explanations on how to get another march don’t work for me. It would be so much simpler to simply buy another March if that is what a person chose to do. But other than that frustrating thing, this is a fun game and it’s hard to leave it. I would just like to add that this game is fun but one thing I HATE about any game is running out of energy. The marches are the most fun but they cost energy and I think that is a rip off. I wish they would fix that. I play Bloody West and we have no energy problems. However there is a prolific problem with external software that exploits the game allowing some players have an unfair advantage against other players (at least one alliance mandates the use of it). Were this software available to everyone I supposed it would be almost fair. However， all of the information regarding these exploitations are only in Chinese. One would have to some familiarity with the language， I minored in Mandarin， to even locate this software and then enough mastery to setup the software to exploit the game. I have combed through several of the public alliance boards and this data is only present in the Chinese language. Temporary player accounts will periodically post links to the services that will charge players a fee to use these exploits to automate farming and cheat the system to increase resources. Feel free to verify these claims: find posts that are neatly formatted with a lot of brackets; "QQ" and a contact number are almost always included; an unnamed player will spam the general chat with Chinese and "t.a.o.b.a.o." followed by a number (go to taobao . com and then search for that number it will bring up one of these exploit apps to purchase); and those that use these exploits seem to have a clockwork-like ability to recuperate.
