ViewExif for Positive User Reviews

Nice, but a bit limited.Nice implementation. Access via the share function is a good idea. Formatting the data displayed into a more familiar format is good too. One limitation I see is the date/time displayed is not the captured or digitized time, it appears to be the metadata time. Another limitation is the number of EXIF data fields that are displayed is only a small subset of the EXIF data available on the iOS platform. A third limitation is the inability to edit the EXIF data. iOS doesn't allow editing of EXIF data in the original photo but a copy of the photo with edited EXIF data can be created. I will check updates to see improvements but this app has a long way to go before it would take me away from EXIF Wizard Pro..Version: 1.0.0

Excellent SoftwareThis is what has been missing for a long time. Simple to set up and gives you all the information you need, including the software that was used to edit it. Well worth the price..Version: 1.2.0

Very goodI've been looking for something like this for ages since the Apple Photos app does not provide access to this data. It does what it says it does and looks nice too. Recommended..Version: 1.0.0

One of the most useful appsI never knew our photos had so much details / information recorded in them, this app tells you everything and it's so useful and easy to use too..Version: 1.2.0

Does what it saysWell done application, will stay on my iOS devices.thank you.Version: 1.0.0

Fantastic for getting EXIF data from all photosI often import my raw NEF files to my iPad and this shows all the EXIF and Raw metadata from my Nikon pics as well as all data from my iPhone and iPad pics including HEIF. Great app..Version: 1.4

Simple and practicalChecking the EXIF data of a photo or a video is essential if you want to get more information about the photo, the camera setting and of course the location of a shared photo. However, this app lets you share a photo without the EXIF data as well, improving security and privacy in certain situations..Version: 1.2.0

One photo at a timeNice app, works OK, but it only allows you to work on one image at a time. Want to add a tag to a bunch of images? You’re out of luck..Version: 3.3

Great appIt works well for privacy protection when sharing pics. Thanks for updating.Version: 2.0

Doesn’t work in iOS 15.2 & Video IssueApp doesn’t work in iOS 15.2. Fix it! App has no problems reading GPS data from pics sent through text or iMessage, but it cannot do the same with videos. Asks for permission to local photo library and the video isn’t even saved there. Not only that, but even after you grant it that permission, it still doesn’t work. You need to figure this out because it’s always had this problem or shortcoming..Version: 3.2

Very usefulConstantly surprised apple don't offer this functionality themselves..Version: 1.1.0

Freaking Heaven!I have been looking for an easy to use app/extension like this for a while. I really wish this was a built-in feature but this app does the job just as easily..Version: 1.0.0

This is unbelievably cleverWhat a great app. Does what it says and more. Being able to see EXIF data in Photos App is a delight. Sometimes the right app for the job comes along an this Is IT! I’d give 6 stars if I could Thank you for your work.Version: 3.0

Simple and EffectiveGreat little app. It provides the EXIF data that Photos doesn't, and also allows you to strip out EXIF data when sharing through the app..Version: 1.0.0

Keep apps out of your photos!Strips and reads EXIF data, and does it well. Further, if you’re a privacy wonk, you can you can use it as a “gatekeeper” for your photos by making it the only app with access to Photos, and share pictures to and from your browser, facebook, Twitter... all without giving that app access to your photo library. I can’t remember what I paid for it, but on reflection I’d pay double without hesitation..Version: 2.0

Almost PerfectJust add FPS in video and it will be perfect photo and video meta app but other than that it is perfect for photos!.Version: 2.0

Exactly what I was looking forPerfect, exactly what I was looking for. Shows most important information (which camera, focal length,…) on first glance on your local and your icloud photos, and more details (e.g. location) can be shown if desired. Works well on Iphone 12 Mini (ios 16) and M1 ipad pro 12.9 (ipados 16).Version: 3.3

Really handy 👍Does exactly what it claims to do. Looks very "stock iOS" and it just works. Hope this one is around for a long time and updated for many future versions of iOS..Version: 1.1.0

This should be part of the Camera Roll appDespite Apple improving their cameras every year, and promoting them as serious contenders for the only camera you'll ever need (for most people), being able to inspect EXIF data is sorely lacking. You can get some EXIF data in the Mac Photos app so why none at all for iOS? Anyway.. ViewExif fills this hole and it works VERY well as a share extension. Well Done..Version: 1.4

Amazing AppFantastic application, does exactly what it claims. ISO, location, aperture, etc have been accurate every time thus far. The option to not share your EXIF data is a great convenience as well. Well worth the $99 price tag. Props to the developers..Version: 1.2.0

Works greatI use this! An extension to show size, date, name etc. or strip the ExIF data while sharing...Version: 1.1.0

A must-have app for photographersAddresses one of the most glaring shortcomings of the native iOS Photos app. Enables you to view photo EXIF info when using Photos. Also works for the Google Drive app. I still can't believe Apple and Google don't provide this functionality by default. Kudos to Steven Zhang for implementing this..Version: 1.1.0

HandyThis app has come in useful for reminding myself exactly where I took a photo. It's a keeper..Version: 1.2.0

Love the simplicity of adding metadataIt’s so easy to quickly add a description, keyword(s) or star rating to a photo or even screenshot. I use it daily.Version: 3.3

Very awesome feature!I've often wanted to get some details about pics I take with my phone. Very useful utility and works seamlessly..Version: 1.0.0

Such a useful appSuch a great app, immensely useful to see all the details of your photos..Version: 1.2.0

It just works and that's greatActs as an action extension so it works within apps with no need to run another app to check the EXIF. Shows all the EXIF, and even allows sharing with or without the EXIF present. Simple, elegant, and works well..Version: 1.2.0

Soooo good!I went out of my way to review this because it's perfect in every way. all the relevant info you want to know about a photo you've taken.Version: 1.2.0

Seamless solution to a problem Apple should have thought of!I love Apple Photos app, the only downside to it as the lack of an exif viewer. Vital if you are trying to improve your photography, share your data to photoblogs or getting to grips with a new camera, EXIF data is automatically embedded in all the pictures you take. So why Apple Inc chose to leave out an EXIF view option in their otherwise excellent Photos app is a mystery to me! Anyway, rant over and this EXIF viewer app adds a handy EXIF view button on to the 'Share' options to allow you to ready the EXIF data on your photos. Personally I'd also like to be able to view this data in the 'Edit' mode as well if that's possible as a future improve, net, but for £0.79 I really can't complain!.Version: 1.2.0

What an elegant appDoes its task seamlessly and looks great in the process. Except Apple allowing you to view EXIF data yourself, this is the most straightforward way to see that data. Happy to pay a tiny bit for quality and no ads. Thank you to the developer!.Version: 1.2.0

Great app!Works perfectly!.Version: 1.3.1

Surprisingly Fun!This app flows well with iOS. It feels like it was, or should have been, always there. It showed the camera for all of my photos, including from family. It even has a map for where the picture was taken! You have to turn the Photo's option/button on, but open the app and it has a great instruction manual. Tip: If you have a wallpaper that is a picture, check it with this app. Many will tell you the program that was used. Some will even tell you the camera or the location. It's surprisingly fun!.Version: 1.2.0

AmazingThis app is just the best one out there. Only one feature that I would like to see is the ability to remove exif from the image and then saving it..Version: 1.0.0

A seriously great appIt allows you to easily share your photos without sharing where you took the pictures. If others share their photos with meta data you can see what camera they used and where they took the pics. Simple to use and essential if you're taking pics and sharing them with the world. A must have..Version: 1.2.0

Clever app! This app makes it easy to view EXIF info right from the Photos app, using share sheets. I moved it to the first slot in the Share Sheet since I use it a lot. Updated to support HIEC and iPhone X! Even lets you add keywords now!.Version: 2.0

Love it.Easy to use, simple and quick to read RAW files EXIF. Nice one..Version: 1.0.0

Absolutely indispensableIndispensable for all photographers. From the iOS photos app, tap the share icon, then view exif: and see all the details of the shots. Basic functionality Apple didn't include, this app solves it. Can't remember how much this app cost me, doesn't matter: I'd pay $20 for this if need be. Faultless..Version: 1.2.0

Simple and coolThis little app shows the photo info that apple is not capable to implement for years even in its latest iOs. Its simple and without useless gimmicks. And most important, its without ads!.Version: 1.2.0

Fantastic appLove this app-shows pictures in each file instead of all together! For a quick view of a pic you just tap on that album and there it is,,no more having to look through all your pics to find that special one.😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻😻👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.Version: 2.0

Finally!!An app I've been waiting on for quite some time. Super useful and well done..Version: 1.0.0

Handy app to haveDoes what it says on the tin!.Version: 1.1.0

True gem!Absolutely excellent. I've loved EXIF Editor for years, & nothing beats it for easily copying geo info from one pic to another. This gem gives me easy access to the otherwise hidden metadata... golden! BTW, you'll see lens used & geo info only if it's already embedded in the pic's metadata, eg Sony a77v/a99v/hx90v, Nikon p990. Re the p900, ViewEXIF even shows the 35mm equivalent of the maxed out 83x optical zoom -- 2000mm. Sweet!!.Version: 1.2.0

Great addition to my camera rollI rarely need the ‘strip metadata’ function of this app but I regularly use it to find out file sizes before sharing, especially if I have high and low res versions of a file..Version: 2.0

Does what it says on the canWorks a treat - easy to use, works great. All the info you need..Version: 1.1.0

Very HandyIt's very easy to use, and using new iOS features you don't have to leave the photos app. A great addition for anyone interested in finding more info about photos..Version: 1.0.0

Gives most info l needData details like file size. its a shamefor app to hide this info from everyone. and make ppl purchase an app for it. no file name change. no video description. turning device 90* buggy. no list files. but works for ios9.0. and it's small. Does it really charge me 1$ every month??.Version: 3.1.1

Excellent Little Tool! This app does exactly what it says it is going to do, and it does so in a very straightforward, intuitive, and helpful way. It is NOT fancy, and it does not have a bunch of advanced features, because that is not what it is intended for. It is just a valuable little tool that gives you the information that you need, as simply and quickly as possible. Thank you for making it available to all of us!.Version: 1.2.0

Great app and great people to deal with. When I first got the app it read exif data on my images but would not write it on my particular iPad. I emailed the developers and they took my issue seriously straight away. They fixed the problem quickly and effectively and now the app does exactly what it is supposed to. It allows you to read the exif data about your image, whatever its source, so things like size and any information from the camera/phone or from the artist. This is important because for some reason Apple have not provided this facility as a standard part of the iPad photo app. It also allows you to add keywords (to use as tags) and descriptions so you can keep track of versions of artworks for example. It also allows you to gave a star rating to your image. So, in my experience, a great little app that works perfectly as described, and a brilliant, responsive developer. First class - one very happy customer. Thank you..Version: 3.0

Extremely useful - should be native to ios...but it would be even better if it weren't limited to Photos. For example, is there a way to make it work with the Dropbox app? Frustrates me to no end that I can't easily see the exif data on my uploaded photos from the iPad; this would be such a great tool for that..Version: 1.0.0

Great utilityI use this app all the time. It is very useful, especially prior to apples way-too-late-to-the-scene with showing a little more info than none like they do before. I use this even just for the time the picture was taken! Apples display of the time changes is your time zone changes (like while traveling) and will be incorrect! I store the app way out of the way, it's used through the interface of ios not directly. It's in the "open in/send to" symbol, the square with an arrow pointing upwards out of it. On the bottom, the gray silhouette ones not the color ones, has the app listed. You probably have to scroll over to the right to even see it-I edit the list to have it shown up first as I use it all the time. As others noticed, the app has been left alone for a long time, and I do hope it hasn't been abandoned. Oh, and while it seems cell data isn't needed for something to simply display a photos exif data, which it isn't, it's useful to download map data for the geotagged photos to display..Version: 1.2.0

Yes you can strip exifIt may not be clear but you get the option to strip exif data when you share to email from within the ViewExif app (share icon at the top left) and NOT the general share option with photos etc. Good app - does what it says on the tin..Version: 1.0.0

Amazing. Simple. Necessary.I can't believe that a 3rd party had to add this functionality to iOS devices! But they sure did it well. It seems silly that a little extension like this should make such a difference but it does. To be honest I use it less for the actual EXIF/Metadata info and more for file size. It's the fastest way to find the size of an image or video. And when you're running short of space that's important. Well done..Version: 1.2.0

Excellent App!I can go into All Photos, select one, hit the up arrow at the bottom of the screen and select ViewExif and have instant access to all of the key data and location information regarding that photo. This app is so easy to use and has so much info- I'm amazed at its functionality ever time I use it!.Version: 1.2.0

AwesomeEvery possible Exif data. The only problem I have with it is it keeps showing the same map for all photos. I mean it doesn't update the place the photo is taken. Instead it shows the same position in the map for all consecutive photos. Hope to see it fixed in the next update..Version: 1.0.0

Very niceVery good light weight and functional. I just wish there is an option to open locations in google maps rather opening on apple maps only.Version: 3.1.1

Great for showing camera infoI like that this program provides the photo info details from the app or if I am in Photos. One issue I have had for a long time is using the ViewExif app to browse albums often shows duplicate albums..Version: 3.1.1

One of best of its kindI've tried several apps that show exif data and this is one of the best. It displays all of the information you could want. The developer is responsive and takes feature requests seriously. Two feature requests I made were included in a past update..Version: 1.2.0

Works wellGives full information even on photos from my DSLRs. I would like to be able to interact with the map..Version: 1.0.0

Brilliant...Just a super helpful tool....Version: 1.2.0

Super usefulExcellent way to get the details on iOS photos!.Version: 1.3.1

Really usefulApple makes a big deal how great the iPhone's camera is, but makes it so hard to get the EXIF data on iOS. This is a really useful tool to plug that gap..Version: 1.1.0

Somewhat confusingLacks intuitive interface..Version: 3.1.1

Been great for yearsThis is a great geeky toy to see where a photo was taken or how large a video is. Other useful data is provided as well. I use this app regularly..Version: 1.4
