ActivityTracker Pedometer for Negative User Reviews

Distance is not accurateI bought the pro version. Measured against my treadmill and GPS walk. 5 miles was showing up as 2.9 miles. Waste of money..Version: 3.1.1

Doesn’t load historical dataI bought this app to make sense of the 4 years of historical health data stored on my phone, but although it claims to download it, nothing is saved. I only have two days worth (since I bought it) and having paid an excessive amount for the pro version am pretty disappointed. I like the Home Screen, it that’s about it..Version: 3.1.2

Good but... needs work.*updated response after developer responded...*** My watch is ALWAYS on, my phone is in my leg pocket on my workout pants... assuming your user is ‘dumb’ well, now I wish I could give you ZERO stars. Also, I shouldn’t have to ‘adjust’ my step length, considering a fitbit or another walking app doesn’t require anything but keeping your watch on. And ‘ I don’t walk much doing chores’ ?!?! Excuse you??? So, you know the layout of my house, how many sq. Feet it is and what exactly I do? Again... RUDE! I wanted to like this app, really I did, but... I just ran 6 miles and it only accounted for 3.6. That to me is a fail. I’ve been noticing that when I’m in my house walking around and doing chores it doesn’t even account for those. So, I give one star & deleting app. Not worth it. —.Version: 2.9.2

...But weird how the app got my weekly steps and data off my phone from the week leading up to getting the app. But all round is a helpful tool.Version: 2.6

Data fam v.2Without the ability to edit or reply, some clarification further to my earlier review. Yes:data farm. The app claims (as did the author of the reply) to use “only data form the health app”. When you try to change settings, it demands access across all apps. “The following data may be used to track you across other apps and websites owned by other companies. That is the very definition of data farming. ” Data not linked to you-identifiers”. “ Data used to track you-identifiers” Spot the difference. Adverts? Expected. Flogging of data on free app? Naughty, but almost standard. Access to apps which, for some, may contain personal data? No. Not good. There are other apps doing the same job, free, but don’t have the same access..Version: 3.2.1

Good idea, app is 100% ineffective thoughBought this app solely so I had a complication on my Apple watch that accurately told me the number of steps I had taken that day.. unfortunately this app claims to do that and fails. The # of steps the watch complication shows is totally different from the #of steps it shows once you actually open the app on the watch, which is also different from the #of steps taken shown on the phone app itself. Which # is accurate? Why are the #’s different at all? I’m not sure why, but one thing I am sure of, I wasted $4.99 buying this ineffective app that DOES NOT do what it claims.Version: 2.9.2

MayaThis app is good it tells you when you are close to your goal and it tells you how many calories you have burned. The only downside to this app is that i have never understood the floors and that you have to go into the app to get the step number to go up. With the floors what do you mean because 3000 steps is like 2 floors. I think you could have replaced it with something a bit more useful. But overall I really like the app.Version: 2.9.2

App crashingKeeps crashing since yesterday, can’t open.Version: 3.3.6

Doesn’t work, don’t buyAs the last couple of reviews state, doesn’t update counts properly on watch or phone. Restarting watch does not solve it (poor response by developer). Paid $5. iTunes will not refund, get instant denial so developer must have zero refund policy regardless of them saying in here to request refund. Don’t buy. Doesn’t work. Counts don’t update on watch, and phone count stays the same for days on end unless you open app and then it may update but most cases still doesn’t match what watch says. Sync on and background updates on. Turn sync off is another response by developer. Why would you do that? You want them to sync! Developer needs to TEST his product!.Version: 2.9.2

ActivityTrackerActually garbage does nothing.Version: 2.9.2

Great but problemsThis app is great because it has a complication on the iwatch. I think its silly apple hasnt got a step counter to display on the face of the iwatch The only problems is when i first got this app it would update regularly on my watch so every time i checked my step count it displayed correctly on the face. But as time has gone on eg. it only shows I’ve done 1000 steps for the day but when you click into it, it then shows 6000 and then updates the watch face. But now..... it doesnt show at all it just says “activity tracker” on the watch face and you have to click into it to find out and even then it doesnt show on the watch face :( hopefully this can get fixed soon!.Version: 3.1

Works fine apart form complicationThe app works mostly fine and it’s a very good pedometer app. However, I have found that the watch complications can be hit and miss. I want the complication to be a small circle showing the total number of steps I’ve done, however, once you go into double digits, it will Only show the first number - eg if I’ve done 200 steps, the progress circle will be a true reflection of what percentage I’ve done, but the number inside the circle will just be “2” - other pedometer apps seems to be able fit the whole number in. Other complications seems to work fine - ie if I choose one that’s a longer bar on the outside of the watch face. Fix this issue and it’s 5 stars from me..Version: 3.1.4

MsIt would be nice if you could change the steps to 5000 or even higher. It would also be helpful if I understood all the chart and how they work..Version: 3.0.1

Does not automatically update Apple Watch compilationThis app does not automatically update my steps on the Apple Watch compilation as advertised. I have to constantly tap the complication to “wake up” the connection & accurately display the correct number..Version: 2.9.2

Don’t waste your money! This app is garbage, totally unreliable as a step counter! It DOES NOT track steps accurately nor does it sync accurately with Apple Watch or the apple health app. Wish I would have read more reviews before paying. Do your self a favour and read through the other reviews first and save your money. Edit: Had you actually read my review you would see I did pay and upgrade to pro… it is still inaccurate in tracking steps and syncing. I did read the other reviews and see many, many negative reviews from users with the exact same problems that I encountered. Edit: Upon following the developers direction, I am still unable to get the app to sync and function as it should..Version: 3.1.5

Gets there in the endThe tracker will eventually give you a final amount of steps for the day, but the time lag is to me unacceptable, it cannot seem to count and show the steps together, when I get into bed at night I take note of my steps but in the morning those steps have increased, while I’m in bed, not possible so there must be a time lag. I have been using this app for 14 months now and it still lags. WHY ?.Version: 2.6.1

Broken for iOS 13 and watch iOS 6In the Q and A on their website they confirm that there are synchronisation issues with iOS 13 and watchOS 6, which they claim is out of their control which indicates they are not trying to resolve. On the current operating system versions I’m finding the information to be too inaccurate which is a shame because I liked the widget/complication and this is the only reason it gets the two stars. I’m regretting paying to upgrade to the Pro version as hidden in the Q and A is an admission that it’s broken and doesn’t work with the current OS versions..Version: 2.9.2

Activity trackerNot impressed. My friend and I who both have iPhones used the activity tracker today when we went on a long walk. Our starting point was equidistant from both homes but when we checked after finishing our walk I had 10.9 miles and he had 12 miles. How can this be if we walked together? Even more strange is that last week for the exact same walk my tracker said 12.4 miles. Please explain..Version: 2.6.1

Sync issues between watch and phoneWatch will not sync properly with iphone 12. In accurate reading! Money wasted! Yes the watch was sync'd as well as both the devices were restarted. I bought another app StepsApp pedometer, and it works just fine out of the box. Clearly show your app has problems. As mentioned earlier, money has been wasted on your app. I imagine how many people are getting stuck by paying for your useless app. You offer no refund option either..Version: 3.1.2

Phone and watch saying different thingsI bought this app and upgraded with the thought that I would be able to see step counts on my watch face. This works, however the amount of the steps on my phone in comparison to my watch steps is vastly different. I presumed these would sync together but obviously not. Finding this very frustrating and ready to delete it even after spending a ridiculous amount to upgrade it..Version: 2.8.4

Your app is useless! It records less than half of the steps that Apple Health reports. Totally inaccurate. You had one job!.Version: 2.9.2

3 1/2 StarsThis app is great and all, but I’ve noticed that if you walk 6 steps, and go back into the app, it won’t change the number. It’s like you need to do 50 steps for it to realize that it needs to change. So basically, it’s not real accurate. I also notice that it has changed the number of calories and minutes. So I was checking the app, and there was a certain number of calories and minutes. Then I checked back on the app, and the calories and minutes were at a lower number. This doesn’t make sense, seeing how the number can either stay the same or be larger. It literally does not make sense for the calories and minutes to go backwards, seeing how that’s close to impossible. So the app can be taken as an estimate for how much exercise you have done, but it’s not to great for the accurate exercise amount in my book..Version: 2.9.2

Stopped working after recent IPHONE software updateBeen using this for a couple of years now and been great phone did a software update last night and now won’t work. Tried everything from deleting and reinstalling, checking all settings are correct checking the tracking is on etc etc. got fed up after wasting 1hr trying to get it working so deleting and will download another app now..Version: 3.2.3

Not accurateI paid for the pro and it’s not very accurate, wish I’d known before I bought it..Version: 2.7.2

Not that accurateEver since I updated the app the widget is blank.Version: 3.2.3

Very disappointed.I bought this app hoping it would track my steps as I was running. I’ve been using Fitbit and the Fitbit tracks steps immediately as steps are taken . I’ve had this thing on all day and it hasn’t tracked a single step. I followed all the instructions to get it to work including the sync data and privacy and it does nothing. Save your money and don’t buy this app. Update. I restarted my Apple Watch and the steps finally updated. However it looks like every time I want the steps to update I have to either restart the watch or wait a half hour. Absolutely ridiculous. I download pedometer ++ for free and it works and updates just fine. I lost some money on this piece of junk app. Be sure you don’t do the same. These developers should be ashamed of themselves..Version: 2.9.2

Glitching on Apple WatchI loved the idea of the app and jumped right in to purchase as I was disappointed to find you could not alter your steps goal on the Apple Watch. I have synced my watch and data to the app and it will work... sometimes, it crashes on my watch and my phone now making me unable to view my steps and even change settings atm. Both phone watch and app are all up to date with updates.Version: 2.8.5

Steps not syncing from Watch to IPhone 13 ProI really like this app so much that I paid for full version, (this is the first time I’ve ever paid for an app). My issue is I have followed all instructions with setting up. But the steps registered on the phone are way lower than the steps recorded on the app??? This is frustrating as I know I do between 10-18k steps per day on my watch but the app register’s between 1-3k? Please can someone help?? I don’t want to delete the app but seen as I’ve paid for full version, I expect the app to work as it’s suppose to 😡😡.Version: 3.3.2

Tracking TimeApp’s good at tracking steps but hit and miss at time/minutes spent walking. Compared stop watch to app minutes and there was significant difference. Have had a 50 minute walk log in at 12 minutes. My focus is on time walking without having to buy a watch..Version: 3.1.2

L’il Bits to Fix over CoffeeThe app looks great and gives a nice history, but fails to count steps if you don’t walk very far. I vacuumed the house to the tune of 0 additional steps. Also, I paid for the pro version because I thought it would sync with my watch, a Fit Bit Blaze. Apparently, you need an Apple Watch for sync to be effective 😐. Overall, if you never set your phone down and walk away from it AND you walk far enough for the app to recognize your effort to create a greater step count, you’ll enjoy this app. It knows exactly when I get in bed and when I get out of bed, assuming I picked up the phone when I woke. There were instances of 13 hours of sleep counted on days that I didn’t use my phone as an alarm and went about my day. It’s not perfect, but this app has a lot of promise with just a few glitches to muddle through..Version: 2.6

Good clean steps but needs an update! Some reviewers here seem to misunderstand how things work. Your phone (or smart watch) is what is counting your steps. This app merely displays that info to you in a clear format - much clearer than Apple’s own software. In that sense, it does everything I want apart from the complications don’t appear to be compatible with the newest Apple Watch faces despite me upgrading to Pro. I see the developer promised an update back in October, so I’m hoping that’ll arrive soon in which case it’ll be five stars from me..Version: 2.7.2

Pretty good app but not very accurateI like the app design and everything and I don’t know if this is the app’s fault or my phones fault. I have noticed it is really not accurate.. like at all. Today for instance, I went for a 3 mile jog and I know for a fact it was 3 miles because it was around a track. My phone was kept in a tight fitting jogging Fanny pack around my waist the whole time. When I got home to check the app it said I have about 5,000 steps and have walked 2.3 miles. I know I ran 3 and I was walking around a bunch before my jog too so it should be even higher. This has happened more than a few times now. So something is either off with my phone or off with the app. Not sure which one..Version: 3.1.1

AppDoesn’t have the same numbers as the Apple Watch, that sucks.Version: 2.9.1

Notifications error** I tried emailing support but it will not work. When you hit send on the support webpage, it turns yellow and does nothing. I am forced to leave a review as my only form of contact. ** I am a PRO user and enjoy the app. I have been getting odd notifications from the app recently. In the morning I get notifications that I am halfway to my goal while eating breakfast. My goal is 7500 per day and I probably have about 500 at this point. I just received a notification that I have met and even exceeded my goal. Again, my goal is 7500 and I am currently at 5500. This has been happening the last week or so. I have the most current version on my devices. iPhone 13, Apple Watch 7. Any idea how to fix this? Once this is resolved I will change my review..Version: 3.2.5

InaccuratelyMy Activity App shows highly different steps and calories burned than this app. I have purchased the Pro version and have selected the option to sync with the watch however it does nothing..Version: 2.9.2

Brilliant Not BoringThis App calculates my activity without my having to do anything more than carry my phone with me. How easy is that! I was amazed to see I had a very real pattern in my life regarding my level of fitness - 99% of the time it was always the very same day. Now that I’m aware of this my goal is to ensure I have no drop in activity most especially on “that” day. Subsequently, I’m able to easily rectify this. In the process I’ve lost weight & become me fitter all thanks to this little App. It’s just like having your own Personal Trainer who lives in your mobile! Just brilliant!.Version: 2.6

Floor tracking doesn’t work…Unlike other apps (Fitbit, garmin , etc), Activity tracker does not track floors unless you were actually climbing stairs. For example I did a very steep hike with an elevation gain of 1200’ , equal to climbing 112 flights of stairs and the tracker showed 5 floors! The rep told me this:” A flight of stair climbed is considered when you gain 10 feet (3 meters) in elevation and take about 16 steps. This is a very sensitive measurement which unfortunately can be wrong sometimes”. And then, subsequently this “ From what I understand, you didn’t actually climb floors today, rather went for a hike. The elevation gained during a hike can’t be measured this way.” No refunds. What a waste of money for the “Pro” version. I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS APP,.Version: 3.4

Fix your app!!!!It’s displaying days old numbers and not updating day to day ! Not happy at the moment !.Version: 3.0.1

Good but wouldn’t recommendI downloaded this app and it was working great for about two weeks and after that every time I went onto the app: it would go black and then close the app. I wouldn’t recommend this app as it has that fault but other than that I had no problems. But please sort that out....Version: 2.8.5

DisappointedI upgraded to the pro version of this app for the simple reason I wanted a watch complication that told me how many steps I have done. Well it is massively misleading to say that you can change the complications as they seemingly can only be used with the basic watch faces. If you use any of the newer modular faces then there is no option to display a complication. Ultimately I have wasted money on something I can't actually use. It can't be that hard to design a number of different complication. It's a shame as the app itself is nicely designed and clear to read. I just feel short changed as I don't want to have to open the app to view my step count..Version: 2.7.2

Was good but don’t expect much supportUsed the app for over two years. It’s decent, the accuracy of the steps counted seems a little questionable sometimes. After a long time the app one day dumped all my historical info from Prior to the first of this month. I changed no settings on the app and uploaded no other information that would effect the app. Customer support answered me after one day but after asking standard questions, they provided zero further support. I guess if you don’t pay for the app then you don’t matter as a customer. Beware..Version: 3.1.5

Incorrect mileage countsNow we walk 9 miles a day and I’ve had to “ tweak “ the step length several times. It just starts tracking fairly well then it will lose a mile or more on the same trails we do every morning. So even implementing your suggested “ fix” does not work all that well. As stated in original rating below it barely counts the back now 2 miles of trails and there is a very strong cell signal there so that’s not it either. I would have to take the step length up to 48 or so get a reading so I’ll just “ guesstimate “ until I find more accurate system. I’m so sorry I paid $4 for this app! I walk pretty much the same 3.7 mile walk every morning with my dog. The only time it varies is when we add the last part of trails on so more steps NOT FEWER! Every 2-4 days this app screws me out of 1-2 miles! Since it’s pretty much same morning walk I don’t get it! Even parked my car at last part that it NEVER counts more than .3 miles and started walking 1.2 miles by its self! Did that walk today with regular walk all it registered was 2.7 miles! Looking for more accurate app. Need CORRECT info for ortho doc. Reply to developers: I already tried the custom step settings. This app seems to have MAJOR issues with any type of non flat terrain..Version: 2.7.2

Activity tracker somewhat disappointedI use to have a Fitbit and changed to Apple Watch. I have had both on at once and this app tracks 1/3 to 1/2 less steps. I have compared at the end of the day to my friend who did relatively the same site seeing and again I am way lower. Disappointed for sure Tested as requested and confirmed your app is not registering as I did 100 steps as you suggested and there was a delay in recording and it shows 54 not 100, which corresponds to the recorded steps being considerably lower. Still disappointed in your app and your comments.Version: 2.1.2

Says UPGRADE TO PRO on watch faceNo thanks. Not even prepared to try the “free” version out when it’s got UPGRADE TO PRO written on the watch face complication. Looks Horrible. Would have been prepared to try it out and then upgrade if I like the app but I don’t want to read UPGRADE TO PRO every time I look at my watch face. Plenty of free apps have upgrade premium options that don’t put a huge UPGRADE advert on the face of your watch, this is just a really sledgehammer unimaginative way of trying to get people to upgrade. Uninstalled. Judging by the developer’s reply to my review the point of my feedback has gone completely over their head..Version: 2.9.2

Doesn’t keep syncApp on my Apple Watch appears stay in line with my health app (data collected is almost identical), however the app on my actual iPhone does consistently has different measurements and if I don’t take my phone with me (which is the entire reason I went for a gps/cellular model watch), the data is even that much more skewed. No settings area as far as I can tell. No reminders to hit goals. Complete waste of 5 bucks if you ask me. 2 stars for a pretty interface but the app is mostly useless if you want reliable tracking..Version: 3.0.1

Good but sometimes inaccurateDoesn’t match up with health app and doesn’t seem to be accurate all the time..Version: 3.1.1

Looks ok but free version doesn’t offer enoughI like to be able to see my daily steps on my Apple Watch which is only available on the paid version. This feature is offered by other apps for free. App looks good and does what it says on the tin, just think u can get what I’m after without spending a fiver elsewhere..Version: 2.9.2

Watch app is terrible! Complication doesn't work! Watch step count is off!I bought ActivityTracker "Pro" for Apple Watch in order to use the complication to display steps. After paying for Pro and unlocking it, the complication still says "UPGRADE TO PRO". Further, the step count on the phone often doesn't match the step count in the Apple Health app or even the ActivityTracker PHONE app! I've tested this with the "Sync Watch & Health" turned on and turned off. The phone app always matches with Apple Health, but the watch only matches sometimes. The counts on the watch go up and down like crazy! I have requested Apple for a refund. I will be trying out other apps. EDIT: I tried the steps the developer mentioned, but it still doesn't work. There's another app that costs half as much and works wonderfully on the Apple Watch. I have now switched to that and requested a refund for this one..Version: 2.9.2

Not worth the Pro versionFree version is reasonably good, although fairly basic. Nice layout, seems to be pretty accurate and easy to use. Upgraded to Pro version but expected a lot more functionality and options than it delivers. Still a decent app but there are many other steps apps out there that offer the same that are either free or cheaper than this one.Version: 2.9.2

Visual stats excellentExcellent app for a quick snapshot of daily steps but the information is limited in the free version and does not sync Watch steps unless you pay the upgrade fee which is quite expensive. Although this App looks very good, I think it's a shame that accurate steps info is not available in the free version..Version: 2.1.2

Interface is beautiful, flawed accuracyI thought I found exactly what I wanted. I’ve been using it over the past 5 days. When it works, I love it! However, I noticed it sometimes drops the data from the previous day, it doesn’t always count all the steps. I was very active yesterday and should have logged over 20,000 steps...I had 13,000 by mid-day. I continued to be active and at the end of the day only registered 16,000 steps. I don’t feel like waiting for this to be fixed..Version: 2.5
