✓ Fun but hearts are an issueThe gameplay itself is fun enough, but nothing new. I’m sure we’re all familiar with a “match 3 or more of the same type to clear them” concept by now. It does have the fun element of Pokémon though. Some of the levels and tasks on the cards are overly difficult, but I get that they want you to spend money on items (the game is free after all). My only real issue is that when you play a level, you lose a heart no matter what. Other similar games you only lose a heart/life if you fail the level, but in this game you lose a heart even if you win the level. Unfortunately, that really affects gameplay as some levels are literally only 3 moves, so you end up waiting 30 minutes for a heart just to play for 2 seconds even if you win..Version: 1.13.0

✓ Returning playerI played the game years ago when the 30-minute heart refill made sense with a somewhat limited number of stages and not nearly as many events. But after all this time nothing has been rebalanced. Catch rates are low and even for a game to get you to spend money, the reward doesn’t feel worth spending money. The graphics and music are cute. But the problems far outweigh the actual enjoyment. Even for a lifetime Pokemon fan, there are better games out there if you want the Pokémon and if you’re looking for a match 3 style game, there are also much better options..Version: 1.13.0
✓ Constant crashes on iPhone after 1 battlePokémon shuffle is a fun game no doubt. The issue lies in the fact it crashes after playing one mission or “battling” one Pokémon. An error screen pops up saying quitting after ten seconds. I’m not sure if it’s only on iPhone but I’ve been playing this game for years, it’s always the same. After one battle, the game crashes. It is fun, but dang, you think they’d fix the crashes after at least two-three years. My phone is always updated, I’ve done everything in my end to trouble shoot including emailing about the issue multiple times with no response..Version: 1.13.0

✓ Charming game, but has some flawsI’m a long term supporter for Pokemon mobile games, and this one was a gem at release. There have been several cool additions: more levels, quick bug fixes, and a charming cutesy UI to attract fans of all ages... there is a current bug which renders the game playable but aggravating; check it out dev team (if this game still has a dev team). Has to do with whenever a puzzle trys to start (normally when the app has been running for more than one puzzle). ✓ Tutorial far too long!!Tutorial was way too long. Should have ended after catching pokemon 1. No option to skip, just lots of dialogue and forced play. Add an option to skip and I'm back in. ✓ Fun and addictive but hearts are too limitedThe game has fun and interactive gameplay, knowing Pokémon match-ups and abilities and using them to maximize your success is great, especially when the game gets tougher later on there is a real feeling of progression, learning, and enjoyable RNG. There is plenty to do and a lot of ways to enjoy the game. However the games heart system and regeneration time are really infringing upon that depth of gameplay. You are forced to choose what you can do at any given time, and then not be able to progress at a decent pace in a game that has a large amount to do. The game is hindered by the heart system. Maybe if players could store 15 hearts, and the hearts regenerated at a rate of 5 minutes per heart, it'd be better..Version: 1.11.0

✓ Losing interestI was all hyped for this game since I love Pokémon, and I downloaded it to play. It was fun, challenging, and addictive. Now....eh, I'm really not that interested anymore. The biggest turn off is it forces you to use power ups and coins to advance (at least, that's my perception.) You also have to go through the older levels like 2 times to make sure your Pokémon are strong enough to handle the megas, and playing levels costs hearts. That's another thing: when did playing a level cost a heart? I might be wrong, but that's not how it used to be. If you have a low number of hearts and use them all, you have to wait 30 minutes for five. Another thing that I've noticed is the Pokémon never drop jewels. It did once in the tutorial with Eevee, and that was it—it was never heard from again. If I run out of moves in a level, I can't get more 'cause I don't have any jewels. Don't force people to buy jewels—I don't think that's fair. Also, the level difficulty in the megas is way too strong sometimes. After you've played it five times and failed, then the difficulty's too high. I'm probably going to delete this because I don't think it's fair to force people to use power ups and coins to advance. ✓ Not enough lives and keeps crashingThis game is fun. I’m enjoying it so far. HOWEVER, you get a max 5 lives and then you lose them in like 5 minutes. Means you can only battle 5 times. Hearts (lives) take 30 minutes to refill. So honestly I only get 5 minutes of play. I just clicked on a free play (as many games as you can play) for 15 minutes but I definitely did not get 15 min AND my game crashed 4 times in that time. Requires lots of money to play if you want to use all the features. I don’t understand this because the Pokemon co makes millions upon millions of dollars from users across all the game systems/games. The game keeps crashing. It crashes anywhere between 3-4 times while playing for just a few minutes. I’m not sure I’m going to keep playing unless they fix the crash issue and make the lives fill faster or just let you have more lives. ✓ Shop effects are way too expensiveHaving expensive effects isn’t terrible imo but when they don’t actually trigger in the match and you still lose coins its a problem, especially when you use a jewel for the upgrades and just waste a jewel.Version: 1.14.0
✓ Amazing Game but…Pokémon Shuffle is a super fun game for anyone who loves puzzle games or who are into Pokémon. I sure know I had fun with it…until I started playing again recently. For whatever reason the game keeps crashing literally five minutes each time I open the app. I don’t know what causes this to happen but I really REALLY hope that this bug gets fixed soon because I really like this game and I don’t want to have to worry about a silly nonsensical glitch. ✓ Great fun, terrible save game systemI originally started playing this on iPhone. I wanted to put it on iPad for cross play. There is no cloud save. Instead they have this convoluted transfer game thing. The problem is this transfers everything to the target system and then it’s like starting again on the original device. ✓ Great game but unfair to mobile playersNow the game itself is amazing, having a " jewel " like experience with Pokémon, but the worst part about this game is the unfairness to mobile players setting the game at a complete left turn when you compare the 3ds version and the mobile version. For example Pokémon shuffle has a certain currency called jewels and these jewels are used to buy more hearts and coins. In the first boss stage you get 1 jewel to buy more hearts or coins or 5 extra turns at the end of the round. Now in the mobile Version you literally only can get a total amount of two jewels the entire game. One in the beginning and one in the mission cards ( mission cards are certain challenges you optionally could beat for a reward ) while in the 3ds version you can get around 75 jewels just by reaching level 30, and also I would like to mention the fact that to play these stages you have to get hearts to play move up the stages, similar to energy where you would spend some to go on a task or mission, the game gives you 5 hearts in total and after you waste all your 5 measly hearts you wait hours and I'm not kidding literally hours to get back those 5 little hearts to reach up to stages that are 600+ , are you kidding me?! I have to wait hours to move up a tiny bit up the levels. Honestly the game is good overall but the creators of this app ( Genius sonority) took a dump on mobile players and gave them an unfair advantage for not playing this on a ds..Version: 1.10.0

For those Pokémon Trozei fans out there this is a great adaptation and with the mobile version it’s well worth your time. The free to play ability is not bad and if you fill your friend list which is not that hard using the Reddit page you get roughly 12-14 hearts to start. I don’t mind the jewel purchases and especially since they up your heart amount. Plus the free play for 15 min for no hearts you can maximize your playing even for free. Now my biggest problem. ✓ Fix a feature*Now, disregarding the major cash grab in this game or the difficulty curve that takes luck and/or event Pokémon giveaways to progress past, the fact that DS players get more free jewels and spend 1000 less coins per great ball, I still play on mobile simply because of the convinence. And I know they’ve rationalized it by calling it hard mode, (which, no.) But what really strikes me the wrong way is the catch rates being hidden. Anytime you have a 10% or less catch rate of getting a Pokémon, the number is replaces with an ‘?’ instead of the percentage. Now, keep in mind when you use a great ball, the percent doubles so you can normally figure out where it landed anyway, but it’s almost like they want players to use great balls on Pokémon that may still have a ‘?’, when they’re new. It’s like saying “we don’t want you to know not to waste your coins”. It’s not a feature on DS and it feels condescending and shameful honestly.... I really hope they patch it out soon, but it’s been in since the beginning so I’m not sure it’ll go anywhere. ✓ Another Predatory Mobile GameIt’s another tile-matching game, with Pokemon. I bet this is a great game on the 3ds, but the mobile version is what you’d expect, heaving with micro transactions and designed expressly to give you a bad time until you buy some. I don’t mind spending on a game I’m enjoying, but they steeply ramp up the cost on you. Each time I’ve bought jewels I return to the store to find I need to pay several bucks MORE for several LESS jewels. That’s unacceptable to me. How high does that keep going? It’s not enough I want to give you money, I have to give you MORE money the longer I want to support your game, at diminishing returns even? Are you TRYING to drive paying players away from the store? Mobile games are already super predatory and purposely sell you a negative experience to get you to pay to avoid tacked-on pain. Wish, wish, wish we could just buy games in their pure, intended forms on mobile. This was fun enough for 200 levels, but gotta uninstall. There are thousands of other tile-match games out there. ✓ Always onlineI love this game, I do. But the always-online aspect frustrates me greatly. Pros of the game include multiple styles of “combat”, interesting combinations through abilities, and well implemented visual design. Even the safari with its rare spawns I appreciate (even if I will skip trash-cloak burmy every time since it has way too many moves and far too much health to reward only 5 exp). The always-online makes it hard to play though as some days the server just won’t talk with my device. It’ll speed through everything then sit at the battle end screen for five minutes “communicating” with nothing for it but for me to sit there and pray my connection hasn’t gone down. My favourite would be to make it totally playable offline, but if not then maybe just needing to be online for the daily prizes..Version: 1.14.0

✓ Feels unfairOk so 1st of all, I don get how when I have a small percentage chance I catch a pokemon, then when I have a high percentage chance, the game taunts me with a failure capture. I mean you could’ve made the message like aww it got away, or darn, next time I will do it but instead you just say capture failed and that can down people. Also the jewels system needs to be rebalanced. There needs to be an easier way for jewels besides waiting 15 days for a single jewel. That’s half a month. Also the hearts needs to be decreased to like 10 mins. per beside half an hour. This game is good but besides the fact it can be unfair in lots of way. ✓ Fun, but only to begin with.To start with, I really enjoyed this app. Simple, fun, easy to get into and chip away at on a break to kill time. But then, once you hit the higher levels (187 rn) the fun stops and it's just a boring and frustrating grind. It's great at the start when you'll catch maybe after your 3rd-4th try. But by now, even if you finish with half or more of your moves left, you'll get maybe 16% catch rate. And it really does get frustrating to bust your gut trying and trying to beat a level only to not even get a reward bc you didn't catch it. And the rewards are pitiful anyway, past the Pokemon the ingame currency is so frugal that if it was currency we'd be below minimum wage! In the end, the game is built to make you spend money, you can't REALLY pay for free like the opening screen suggests. ✓ Great games but fix the crash issue!I love this game and I’ve been playing it ages now, but there has been a crash issue since I downloaded it 6months or more ago - and it’s still not fixed! ✓ Capture rate are a lieGame is rigged! When you almoooost beat a stage.... maybe one move left to win , the game makes sure to stop your combo and ask for real world money. It’s a swell game up until level 200 then it's all about re-attemptingg impossible stages without throwing down real money. When you think you caught one at 93% it jumps out and it's over without money . The capture rates are abysmal and infuriating so I recommend skipping this game completely.Version: 1.14.0
✓ HelpLet me get this straight. I truly enjoy this game. It is fun, good to play on the go, and honestly, who dosent like pokemon? Or, at least i did like it. I had it on an old ipod before. Eventually, my ipod broke. And i really liked it so i went to get it on my iphone. Every time i attempt to log in, it says please accept the terms of service. I click ok. It brings up a white screen for 2 seconds, and then says, “A communication error has occured”. Every. Single. Time. I think it is because i can not easily go on to websites. Developer, if u could paste the website link on to me review, that would be great. Or maybe its my phone model. I have an iPhone 5s with the latest IOS updated. ✓ Feels like a chore not a game.Before actually playing this game I had mixed expectations while also not knowing what I'm going to get, getting thrown into the game I felt confused as the puzzles are different to the standard match 3 system and I didn't feel like I was achieving anything by catching Pokemon as they were all on a set path. Overall I think that if you enjoy this game it's good to kill a few minutes from time to time but it's not for me..Version: 1.11.0

✓ Money grabCheap and nasty, would be fun if it wasn’t based around waiting 5 hours for 10 mins of enjoyable gameplay. I’m upset that this exists. ✓ No in love anymoreEdit: After a very long time since my initial review the game has taken a shift. The game is amazing when you start but after a while everything gets difficult if you’re free to play player. The Special Stages are really difficult and let’s say out of a miracle you beat the stage, that still means you gotta take a small percentage to catch the pokemon. There are times where i have spent all my coins on enhancements JUST to beat the stage and then fail the capture. Is discouraging how difficult these stages get, especially considering you NEED these difficult to get pokemon to proceed on the Main Stages (for abilities) after a while i just gave up. The game is fun and can get addicting but beware, the deeper you go, the harder it gets. I LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH. It gets a hard once you have progressed in he main stages but it is very addicting and fun. I constantly check the game to make sure the hearts have replenished so i can play. The update has made the game EVEN better with the ability to make friends without the need of Facebook. And the constant gifts everytime to log in is just amazing. Great job!.Version: 1.13.0

✓ Mission glitches have played me into cornerMy daughter plays this game and wanted me to download and play, too. I thought it was a cute game to play one or two minutes at a time so the slow hearts didn't really bother me. However, I have gotten to a point where I need a particular Pokémon to beat a level. I can only get this Pokémon as a reward through a Mission card (or to beat the level I need it for and move past it to a higher level). I played a mission for several days trying to balance fulfilling the mission requirements without beating the round too quickly. I finally accomplished the mission and the game didn't count it. Basically, I can't move on, so I'm done with the game. Sad..Version: 1.10.0

✓ Fantastic but not worth the frustrationThe game itself is fantastic to play , it stays true to the franchise and is genuinely really fun to play , however it is physically impossible to enjoy the game without pouring money into it. Lack of spending will get you an solid five minutes of game play at most every 2 and a half hours, this is due to the fact that the levels are too short and the waiting time for lives come at a heart wrenchingly slow speed of half an hour at a time. The game itself gives you an option of using one gem to allow free unlimited play for half an hour , but gems cost 99p a pop and the half an hour flies by faster than you can say "I'm having a great time". It saddens me because the game is honestly one of the most fun and enjoyable apps I have come across, but unfortunately the negatives outweigh the positives. I should not have to spend and keep spending to enjoy a simple mini game. I understand that free to play should have in play purchases, however the ones provided are simply not worth the amounts they cost. ✓ Fun, but contradicts itself...This game could be great - its a mixture of the fun 'swipe to match' formula, plus the added bonus of catching Pokemon. When the game first starts, you're presented with a screen telling you that the game does not require purchases, making you think this is a very 'responsible' game. Sadly, this is a huge contradiction. Of all the free-to-play games I've tried, this one is probably the MOST restrictive in terms of how often you can play for free. Hearts are lost regardless of whether you win or not, and coins are frequently required for progression but given at a very slow rate. So you either pay out, or close the app. As a result, you lose interest. it's about to be deleted from my iPad - it never gets played because I have far better games with more free-to-playability. ✓ DisappointedI downloaded this mobile app, thinking it would be a lot like the official pokemon DS game, but unfortunately it isn’t. It’s based on the downloadable app with in game purchases. Anyways, when I started up the app, it said I could transfer data with a Nintendo ID instead of having to play from a new game. Overjoyed, since I’ve been very far on the pokemon shuffle app download, for the 3Ds, I began looking for all the codes from the 3Ds app version, only to quickly learn that data from the 3Ds app is not transferable to the mobile app, for reasons unknown. One would assume that since both games are/can connected to wifi, this would be possible. Is is a huge disappointment and I decided I would rather delete this mobile app then have to start over years of pokemon collecting, all over again. If the mobile app creators are reading this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CORRECT THIS!.Version: 1.13.0
