Nice Ride Bike Share for Negative User Reviews

Not yet ready for low hassle prime time usage!Wasn't prepared to spend about an hour downloading & navigating non-intuitive account setup process. Non-contrasting iPhone screen colors were hard to read. Needed multiple restarts to bypass snags & known hassles with credit card scanning..Version: 1.0.1

AwfulHorrible experience you the bikes are super slow and heavy it says you can put them anywhere but you actually need to find another docking port and usually they are Full I had to ride Back to where I came from after all a piece of crap.Version: 14.35.3

The worst bike share experience everRode miles to the nearest bike docking station per the app. Got to Lyndale and 56th only to find there was no bike docking station. Stood there while 3 other riders came to dock their bike and couldn’t. Called to report it and it’s the worst customer experience possible. They couldn’t figure it out. Told us we had to take the bike miles away to dock it or we’d be charged over $1000 for their faulty app and incompetence. Held captive by their error. Totally unacceptable. Get a scooter. Get an uber. Do not use this company..Version: 12.15.0

Over payRode the bike for 3-4 minutes to my destination and app told me it’s off, later found out that I was charge $54 but app told me the bike was off. Emailed the company and the email said email was not found..Version: 12.15.0

MisleadingApp looks slick, but the language around pricing is wildly misleading. Don’t fall into the trap. Random server at a local restaurant said “my boyfriend also fell for that scam.” You lost a customer - and it sounds like more than just me..Version: 14.38.3

Won’t loadThe app has two pages you have to click next on and after clicking the second next option it just spins and then come with an error telling you try again later. Needless to say I never was able to get passed the welcome screen..Version: 13.41.3

Dockless rentalsWill never do a dockless bike again. Got on a bike for 10 min. Returned to a dockless area but didn’t see/know how to end ride so figured it would end at the 30 min. My own fault for not calling support number. Apparently the GPS on the bikes “isn’t that accurate” so now it’s not known where the bike is..Version: 12.19.1

Don’t Use!!!Bottom line: they don’t maintain the locks on theirs bikes and if the bike doesn't lock they try to charge you $1200 for it even if they tell you on the phone that you are off the hook because their product is malfunctioning. So, want to get charged $1200 for a bike that doesn’t work, that you can’t lock, and that you don’t own? Use this App!!! They’ve completely defeated the purpose of their service, which is to enable you to use a bike, lock it, and not have to worry about it. Long story: I used one of their bikes to go to work and it wouldn’t lock. I called their customer service people to explain that the bike wouldn’t lock and explained that I had to go to work. They asked me to troubleshoot the bike which I did. It still didn’t work. I asked them to close the ride because I didn’t have time to stand and guard their bike while a technician came out. First they said they couldn’t do this, then they said they could. They closed the trip. I asked them explicitly if I would be responsible if they couldn't find the bike and they reassured me that I wouldn’t be. Then they couldn’t find the bike, so they reopened the trip and are now telling me I’m responsible for it if they can’t find it. They refuse to send me the audio recording where the agent assures me I’m not responsible. Not sure how it is legal for them to reopen the trip once they have closed it. So, in summary this is not the, “use a bike, lock it, and don’t worry about it,” that it might seem. There are all the downsides of using your own bike (ie, you have to worry about it getting stolen) only instead of being in control of whether your equipment is working you get to use their broken and damaged equipment and then are held responsible when it malfunctions..Version: 12.19.1

TerribleNever going to bother using this app. Look at every review from the past 2 years ..Version: 14.53.3

False InfoApp says there are available bikes but they wouldn’t unlock due to some other issue. I wouldn’t trust going to a bike station again. Much easier experience renting bikes in literally every other city I’ve been in..Version: 13.99.3

Need a push notification for failed returnsYou have GPS coordinates for all of these bikes. Please send a push notification to the app if a bike is checked out but spends a long time not moving. This means someone forgot to lock their bike. Failing to tell us and letting us rack up charges just seems predatory..Version: 12.18.0

Need a way to report user interface problemsThe app has a way to report mechanical problems with the bicycles, but no way to report user interface problems with the app. First issue: the map Minneapolis has five basic categories of bikeways, listed here in order from greatest exposure to traffic to least exposure: 1) Shared lanes on arterial streets. Examples include most of Central Ave NE, Bryant Ave south of Lake St, or Marshall St NE. These are typically short gaps on bike routes between other facilities. Arguably they should not be displayed at all in the app. OpenStreetMap (OSM) tags: cycleway=shared_lane AND highway=primary or secondary or tertiary. 2) Painted bike lanes. Do I need to explain? OSM tag: cycleway=lane. 3) Protected bike lanes. These are similar to painted bike lanes but include flexible plastic posts in a buffer area between the bike lane and car lanes. You’ve seen them. OSM tag: cycleway=track 4) Bicycle boulevards. The definition of this category is a through route for bikes that is not a through route for cars. i.e. people can drive here, but only to access driveways or parking on that block. Think of it like a bike path that people are allowed to drive on to get to their homes. OSM tags: cycleway=shared_lane AND highway=residential or unclassified. 5) Bicycle paths separate from the roadway. OSM tag: highway=cycleway OR highway=path AND bicycle=designated The current map lumps together 1 and 4 in one category and 2,3, and 5 in another category. How does that make sense to anyone? I would give 3–5 a special designator, maybe a wide transparent backing line, to signify that these are the primary bikeways, aka the “low-stress network.” I would then overlay a thin line for 2 and 3, a medium dotted line for 4, and a medium solid line for 5. If 1 is displayed at all I would use a thin dotted line. Second issue: There is no way to tell from looking at the map which docks accept returns of classic bikes. If you are riding a classic bike, you could easily be riding to a dock where you cannot return that bike and you would never know until you got there. The app distinguishes between the two types of docks after you’ve borrowed a classic bike, but this assumes that riders will be looking at the app while riding, which I think is clearly a design flaw..Version: 13.31.3

Autofill feature missing? The app does not appear to interact with the iPhone auto fill features so that standing next to the bike in the street you have to enter everything from scratch, including pulling out your credit card. Am I doing something wrong?.Version: 12.19.1

Update01apr21: app doesn’t work well with iOS update 14.5 or iPhone SE2..Version: 13.75.3

Terrible navigation in appI can’t even use the app because it won’t let me delete old credit cards, nor add my new credit card as the default payment method.Version: 13.24.3

Very bad riding bike appInstructions unclear got bike stuck in toaster. Bikes aren’t even electrical smh.Version: 12.15.0

It makes no senseHow can you offer a day-pass that only can be used by 30minutes gap. If I buy a day-pass is to use the bike all day long. MISLEADING ADVERTISING..Version: 13.98.3

Not the quality that it used to beIt seems that since the Lyft partnership/take over, the quality of both service and hardware has gone downhill. I frequently have issues with broken bikes, scooters that won’t unlock (yet they’ll charge you for using it), and lengthy delays in customer support. Not sure what the deal is. Also, why are the scooters being locked up? Lime and Bird, the competitors, are just grab and go, which makes way more sense..Version: 13.38.3

TerribleI had a problem with ending my ride. Long story short I couldn’t end the ride the charged me over $100. There was nothing I could do customer support was no help..Version: 13.34.3

Stole money from me :(If you mess up taking a photo of a scooter, it’s a $30 charge. You will not be refunded. There is no feature to go back to take the picture, so if you accidentally took one like I did, they take $30 from you. It’s ridiculous, and their employees, like Gustavo, are so rude and passive aggressive. When I tried to reach out my concern, Gustavo ended the chat immediately. I am a college student, so I can’t afford $30 when I mess up a photo. Also, the app isn’t very safe at all. Use PayPal to avoid getting your information stolen. This happened to me in the past, where $100+ was stolen from me, and Lyft basically said “too bad.” Thankfully I was able to get this issue resolved with my bank. Terrible app and terrible service. Please safe yourself the money and download Uber. There are many other apps out there which are one hundred times better than this one. I had the student discount (where you go through the tedious and lengthy process of proving you’re a student— not worth it), so I didn’t feel like switching to another app like Uber until now. Save yourself the money! Skip this app!.Version: 14.52.3
