✓ Beware! Shady business.It takes at least a month after you withdraw money you won to reach you. On top of that, they have the right to terminate your account for whatever reason they feel like. ✓ Games good but greed prevailsAbout December, Skillz started letting partner apps offer commercials to folks who lost their game to earn back freebie credit all they had to do was to allow players to opt out . Unfortunately the Tether Team, which has to also be a group of different companies, that is responsible for this app missed that memo. You get a crappy annoying ad win or lose whether you opt out or not. Worse still it plays at top volume no matter if you are in silent mode or not. Unsure how they are bypassing that but. ✓ Too much cheating!!Fun game…when you can find legitimate players. The developers are pretty much doing NOTHING to stop the cheating. Players from other countries use some sort of program to win for days on end before they’re finally kicked off. ✓ You have ruined a great gameI have enjoyed playing Word Race for quite some time UNTIL the developers decided to try to make it a social media site. Today they added an extremely intrusive chat and friends functionality that you cannot turn off. Nor can you exit all of the screens hounding you to send messages or add friends. Furthermore a section of the game screen now displays ongoing chat messages between other users even if you are not participating. It is very distracting. HORRIBLE!!!!! ✓ Fantastic implementation of word search concept with one massive flaw.Normally, top players are matched with top players. Beginners with beginners etc The algorithm gives new players about 100 games before it figures out how good they are. So as a result, top players create new accounts so they can mop the floor for a while until they get correctly rated. ✓ Scoring difference between practice and proNot sure if this is a bug or intentional—I spent a lot of time playing practice tournaments for this game before switching to the pro tournaments. On the practice tournaments, the word length bonus increases by 10x a power of 2 for each letter over 3 letters (+10, 20, 40, 80, and so on). So I trained myself to focus on getting those 160+ point bonuses from longer words. But in the pro tournaments, the word length bonus only increases by 10 for each letter, so an 8-letter word would only get a 50 point bonus, not a 160 point bonus.
