✓ Very expensive game and addictiveI don’t suggest anyone download this game if you’re likely to get addicted to playing it as you will spend lots of money on in app purchases. This game was fun in the beginning until they took away the chance to watch ads to shorten the wait time for an upgrade or to get rubies. It is very expensive as you progress to other restaurants to upgrade an item. The first or second upgrade of one item is between 15-22 rubies and that’s just one item. You have no chance of winning enough to service your whole restaurant so you’ll most likely need to pay for additional rubies. It’s quite a rip off..LOOC.MI.WONK.UOYVersion: 1.24.1

✓ Fun but Pricey - Impossible to Obtain Gems!This game is extremely fun to play and I’ve been obsessed the past couple of days. HOWEVER, the ability to obtain gems is EXTREMELY difficult. The game encourages you to purchase gems, however the gems are overpriced and frustrating, because there really is no other way to obtain gems easily. In order to obtain gems for free you have to complete quests which essentially make you replay a level hundreds of times in order to obtain just one or two gems. Upgrading your kitchen fully requires hundreds of gems. It would be a lot more enjoyable to play if things didn’t require HUNDREDS of gems in order to progress in the game; I often have to stop playing solely because I don’t have gems and cannot get anymore until the next day with the daily quests. Even after waiting a day, it is difficult to gain enough gems to upgrade enough of your kitchen to progress to the next stage. I’ve purchased some gems before, but since upgrading requires so many gems, the gems were used in SECONDS. I would honestly NOT recommend this game unless you have money you’re willing to spend. ✓ Grab for cash with constant crashesThis used to be a fun game but now you have to wade through nearly 10 cash spend adds before even starting the game. Then adds are used for speeding up play but half of them crash the game or worse luck it up. The greed shown by the developers has made this unplayable and the constant competitions (a three day competition usually involving recent restaurant levels which require costly expansions and only a few hours before the next one begins) has made most players sick of the game and pressure for team play. ✓ Super fun but difficult to progressI really enjoy this game. It provides great challenges and a lot of opportunities to play different types of levels. I love it! The characters are endearing, the visuals are very clean and nice to look at, and the designers’ ability to play ads throughout the game (without taking over) is clever. I also enjoy playing in guilds with other players. Love the competitions for each of the levels and in the overall game. The major drawback, though, is that it’s pretty difficult to get upgrades in your restaurants. If you’re not able to get these upgrades, then you’ll have great difficulty in passing levels. It’s understandable that levels get progressively more challenging. However, the opportunities in which to get what you need to upgrade (without paying real money) are scarce, and the need for gems (the scarce payment, which you can conveniently purchase with real money) increases significantly as you progress. I wouldn’t call this a pay to play game per se, but I feel like it will soon be practically unplayable if it continues on the same track it’s on right now. ✓ Cooking DiaryFed up as it keeps crashing since the update. Need an endless amount of gems to upgrade the restaurants. The side games e.g. 'Creighton' & the 'food truck' are impossible to get through. I gather you can't update either of them to make the levels as you progress easier? There is no advice anywhere I can see? Can't for the life of me figure out what the gold stars (I think they are) are for? Each time you get an assistant chef, the game presumes you want to use them immediately on the next level & you have to opt to alter back to the original each time which is frustrating. When you pay to spin the wheel, the deals should become better. You have GOT TO BE KIDDING ME with the ONE gem option *facepalm* 1 gem literally does nothing! It makes me not want to invest in spinning the wheel. 2. More options to win gems!! Even if it’s one or two gems every level or every two levels. It’ll keep people actually wanting to play. 3. ✓ It’s really funThis game is actually quite addictive and there many things you can do like customise your avatar, buying pets and other really fun challenges you can do by levelling up! The more you level up the harder it is to keep up with the clients as you might have to serve a lot of customers in not so much time! It also seems really promising on keeping you entertained as they are constantly coming out with new challenges features and just added thing that can make the game more fun, I personally really enjoy this game and recommend it! However...My only concern things tend to be really overpriced for example there is a golden ticket for the Easter feature which is £4:99 and it’s not even that exclusive or ‘special’ as this doesn’t come in some sort of bundle so that there are so many prizes or added features you can unlock by spending £5 (making it worth it)! Luckily there was a pop up message from my bank saying that I was billed something from this game. I reported but my problem was not resolved. I was left wondering if their so called “investigation” really happened. ✓ The balance is offIt’s a great game at the beginning, you keep opening new restaurants, have lots of quests and join guilds...until you realize that you can only progress by spending $$$. Yes you get lots of coins for sure, but it’s really hard to earn gems which is essential for upgrading your restaurants. Also the guild quests are very off, even if you are experienced players it doesn’t give you any advantage how you earn points - and remember, more you are advanced (after spending so much money) it gets harder to complete each level - so sometimes the guilds benefits more by having low level new comers who can clear levels with flying colors. The game really needs to be balanced so it weighs more if your guild members have higher levels, and vice versa. I stopped paying every week for silly prizes, and slowed down the speed of playing - it’s still playable but it stopped being addictive. I know other games which are very generous with “time you spend with the game for free” and it definitely works when you make a spontaneous decision if you want to continue or not by spending money. However the recent upgrades strongly feel to me like they were created simply to get players to spend real world money as the new insanity levels introduced are simply not achievable without a great deal of rubies, boosters etc. I have just spent £1.99 on a pack and still could not pass. ✓ Fairly fun to play… while you canThis game is fun, and I get how it’s “equal” in your minds as to free to play versus pay to play. But it’s not. This game is so glitchy. Watch an ad to speed up (dozens of times), to unlock decorations etc. yet the ads barely work. You end up watching about 5+ ads that don’t count to anything, and crash your game, and don’t get any reward. At one point I quit the game in a rage after 7 ads in a row screwed up. You also end up spending over 80 gems in order to “upgrade” as needed and it still won’t pass. ✓ Good game but bring back adsReally enjoyed this game and the entire concept — not just the typical serve and upgrade — you get a number of stories and get to participate in competitions alongside others playing! I use to play the game every day and the app grants you chances of upgrading your store without having to spend money by winning diamonds and notes to spend however most recently they have removed the option to fasten your purchases by ads as well as the option to watch ads for more diamonds which has upset many users along with myself and when question on social media they suggest the app “at random” chooses who and when the ads pop up however this never occurred the first 3 weeks I played up until the most recent update???? However as your progress it’s becoming more and more effort to win rubies in order to upgrade. ✓ Harder and harder to complete stagesI have been playing this game on and off for a few years now. It is super addictive but I do find it harder and harder to get through stages. With some stages, I’ve upgraded almost everything and still couldn’t complete it. Once you are stuck with a stage, you also couldn’t get the daily bonuses by completing stages. ✓ Great gameBeen playing this game for over a year and have found you don’t need to spend real cash to progress though you will take longer to do levels. The developers have made the game harder since I started playing it introducing levels with forgetful geeks, picky cowboys etc. There are great outfits to collect, you can do the food truck on Thursdays, there’s Creightons challenge which I have never managed to do, and you can do Guild quests and Tasty me where you get extra coins, lives, rubies etc. There are often glitches with the game but the developers do try to help when you tell them about your problem. I keep playing the game but often find myself stuck on a level even after buying several things for my kitchen. ✓ Great game but...I absolutely love this game. I quickly got addicted and couldn’t stop playing it. The graphics are amazing and the storyline is interesting. One problem I have with the game is how impossible the levels get. I understand the need to make them harder as you move up, but harder shouldn’t equal impossible. In one of my restaurants, I tried to beat one of the levels and failed about 3 times. I then got help from my guild and even with the help and the extra tips I still failed. Then I made every possible upgrade to my restaurant (stoves, ingredients, drinks, etc.) and I tried again and I still can’t beat the level. The game raised the coin objective I needed to beat the level but decreased the amount of customers I would get so I’m always like 20 coins short from what I need. It’s so frustrating and makes me want to quit and delete the app. The second problem I have is the need for gems to upgrade everything. They’re already super hard to come by in large quantities unless you by them. When you do get them, it’s like you immediately have to spend them again. You should only need coins for upgrades, and if it’s a higher level one maybe it could require one gem but not eight. It seems to be a never ending circle sometimes with trying to upgrade and get to the next chapter so you have some rubies. ✓ Ridiculous ruby amountsI love this game. It’s very addicting but they are many setbacks and even changes that are not ideal. Rubies are getting harder to come by! We get 2 rubies every so often in the truck levels, but a suggestion is to maybe allow 1 ruby every truck level instead. They are also winnable after finishing a story (20 rubies), but we need those rubies to be able to finish the story. We can also win them in the achievements but having to serve, for example, 2400 snacks in the Particles of Taste restaurant is ridiculous for only 5 rubies. This should at least be worth 10 or 15. I get it sometimes since snacks and drinks can be served more often than the main dishes, but that is a lot for less rubies. And the currency differences are a little ridiculous too. Since we get to a point where we’re not updating restaurants in a city anymore, what’s the point of still having free coins regenerate every 4 hours. It’s really a waste and would be more useful to be able to trade in for rubies. Like I have almost 900,000 coins in one city and haven’t really used them. One last thing is the update on certain updates in restaurants where, for example, we need 5 rubies to get a certain wall design or curtain design now. We already need too many rubies for restaurant updates and this is just too much. It’s not reasonable. ✓ Don’t get pulled in.The actual gameplay is great and lots of fun BUT once they have you playing and you have a few Restaurants they start to ramp up the demand on Rubies to progress but do not increase the speed you can get them UNLESS - yep you have guessed it BUY them. That’s when the game gets really expensive, All deals for 99p suddenly disappeared and become deals for 4.99 everything was suddenly more expensive. The developers rely on the addictive nature of this game, they make it impossible to pass levels unless you pay money for rubies. ✓ CryingLook, this is a really fun game and I’d love to pretend I haven’t spent an entire week playing it, that being said me and countless people I know have had issues with the currency. My friend lost progress she’d spent rubies on (the currency hidden behind a paywall) and was not given any help towards recovering her progress, nor any form of compensation worth investing back in. She is distraught because cooking diary is a very important game to her. I have also experienced lost ability to watch adverts in return for rubies, with rumours online stating this is because of a payment I made. It’s punishment for helping the company it feels like. Cooking diary is the greatest mobile game I have ever played, but these practices have soured my experience and have left me and my friends incredibly upset. But with the constant and increasingly unpalatable upgrades, I find myself teetering on the edge of actual dislike. What I loved most about the game, the sights and sounds of close to real life food prep., and serving has been lost; replaced by cartoonish looking items and zero sound effects of searing or other sounds equally attached to a functioning kitchen. And what’s worse, the levels that used provide a fun and challenging gameplay experience, are now near-unplayable… unless you spend more and more money on boosters. ✓ Addictive?I really enjoyed this game when I first got it. I beat the first restaurant level quickly, but when I upgraded to the bakery the levels started to become harder. One level was filled with all of the customers that forget their order as soon as they stated it, which was near impossible. I thought the bakery restaurant level would be similar to the diner one, due customers being able to customize everything, however, I was wrong. It is very much indeed similar, but it is HARDER. Example: How am I supposed to cook three cakes with two ovens, one triangle cake with chocolate icing and blueberries, one star cake with strawberry icing ONLY, and one cake with who knows what? And on top of that, dealing with what drink they would like, having to reset the drink machine, what snacks they would like as well, and making sure that they aren’t getting too impatient? One time I used all of the candies for just one level! I can’t even complete levels anymore without having the urge to close down the app! I was really excited to keep going along with this game until I made it to the last restaurant, but due to how impossible the levels are getting I might not be able to. ✓ Used to enjoy the game but not anymore…Like the other reviews mentioned earlier…. I used to enjoy this game a lot… but since they updated the game it makes it a lot harder to pass the levels. The problem is that even you have upgraded everything in the restaurant, the speed of stoves/knifes/drink dispenser are not fast enough to complete the level. Especially those Difficult levels which require certain amount of smiley face…. the character or equipments just not fast enough before the customer patience dropped. Hence it is like a “must” that you have to use Booster (sometimes multiple boosters) In order to pass a level (e.g, speed boots + candies). Turns out you may need to use rubies to buy boosters or pay to buy rubies/boosters. It’s ok to have some difficult levels, but I noticed those “Super Difficult” levels come up quite often. In the early days it wasn’t made easy to win diamonds rather than pay for them but it was achievable. The Ruby rewards for completing guild quests were reduced by half, so now it’s not even worth the effort needed to stay in the top 3 spots. They completely removed the free festival store that everyone could compete in and get items in. The keep removing in game games that we liked like turbo chef. They keep altering and adding new stuff to old restaurants and changing the dishes as well, so that you have to relearn everything, update new things (which spends more precious rubies), and added more stuff to the blue diary to complete, which is completely unfair because you shouldn’t be changing old restaurants, nor adding new achievements. I’m all for making the game difficult because that makes it fun but this is getting ridiculous. I’ve made tremendous progress and would hate to delete but you guys are making it more difficult. They gave us free delivery with Dave then changed it to be only every 12 hours and that’s IF you pay for the path of glory. You get blue bucks as rewards for everything and yet can’t really use them for anything. ✓ Getting unachievableI have really enjoyed playing this game for a long time and I am part of really good guild we have been doing well but recently we are getting lower and lower and everyone is struggling the levels are becoming so that u cannot pass them without buying some help and even then they it’s still hit and miss whether you can do it. I am taking part less and less in the tournaments when it is recently opened restaurant as I cannot get forward enough to pass the levels when it comes to this. Every daily challenge to win help is now in your most recently available restaurant and if I’m stuck I can’t then or the play game. ✓ Beware-this game is a cash grabI like this game but it seems to be a cash grab as some levels are impossible to get through without rubies or upgrades yet to get enough rubies to do this you need to pay real money. The food trucks are a massive cash grab. Don’t waste your time with these events as the developers make it impossible to progress through the levels of food trucks without paying real money for rubies. Even then you cannot make it through the next level and then must start back at the beginning of the last checkpoint. It’s an impossible cycle unless you are willing to fork out ALOT of money. ✓ Latest Update BROKE The Game.Ever since the latest update, I LITERALLY cannot play the game. I start the game and it tries to direct me to the Path to Glory. I I tap the PTG icon and then nothing happens. It’s almost like the game is frozen except everything is still moving around in the background like other customers in my current restaurant but I cannot interact with anything. it’s not like I can avoid it either. Anytime I try to tap anywhere else on the background gets darker and the game highlights the Path to Glory icon so the only thing I can do is tap it and then the game stops working again! ✓ UpsetThis was my favourite game until they changed it. You used to be able to watch an ad to speed up your upgrades but now you have to wait HOURS for the upgrade. ✓ Great before new updateI’ve been playing this game for a while and didn’t mind spending real money on it as they’d offer good deals now and again and I really enjoyed playing it. However, since the update it’s been increasingly difficult to pass levels without spending excessive amounts and even then it doesn’t seem to work. For example I’d been stuck on a level by being about 2 coins away from the goal. So I upgraded several things in my restaurant which should’ve taken me way over the goal but was still 2 coins short every single time! I’ve gone from spending around £5 a week (which was enough to upgrade and make the game enjoyable and easier) to double that and still not able to pass levels. Today I was stuck on a level by being 1 short of what I needed, upgraded my restaurant and now I’m 3 short every time I play the level! I was happy to spend on this game but won’t be anymore as it doesn’t make a difference since the upgrade. And without paying I’ll probably have to delete the app within a few days as wont be able to pass any levels. ✓ Constant updates prove frustrating for playersNot only do longtime players find that the new updates are creating new levels that are sometimes impossible to finish without added boosters (many of which have to be purchased), they are redesigning old levels so that players can’t go back easily to first levels to contribute to quests or to complete assignments in the book. The new updates bring ‘insane’ levels and many I have not been able to finish without boosters, which run out quickly and are expensive to buy. I have played for years and used to find this game fun and an outlet to have especially on down time during the pandemic. More recently in the past few months I have quit out of frustration and have not been able to help the team I admin for as much. They are quite indifferent in customer service messages as well and have solved nothing. The developers maybe have a quota to bring to corporate trying to squeeze every last dime out of the customers and every last ounce of joy out of the game, as it has just gotten more and more terrible and a money grubbing scheme. ✓ Too expensive for me!I have been playing this game for a number of months now. This is the first time ever I have chosen to spend money on a game because I was enjoying playing. The first purchase was only $1.29, then it went up to $2.99. Now the lowest offer for less gems is a minimum of $7.99, often up to $30 or even over a hundred dollars because the ‘deals’ change all the time. The last upgrade also increased the difficulty of many levels, I have fully upgraded restaurants, with max prestige and cannot pass a level without using boosters. I am still playing, but refuse to spend a cent, enjoyment is no longer there because it’s really hard to pass a level, so I can foresee that I’ll be looking for another game soon. Lots of players are complaining, so I really believe that the developers need to rethink their business model. ✓ Cool game but gems is an issueWhen I first started playing this game, I really enjoyed it and the storyline is interesting and great too. However the only thing that is a bummer and I know I am not the only one who has said this, but it’s the fact that to upgrade the kitchen not only do you need to use the coins you have, you also need to use the gems too. This I find is a bit difficult because it’s not as easy to gain gems as it is to gain coins. So maybe my suggestion to keep this game going and make it better is hopefully just have the coins themselves be the only thing needed to upgrade the kitchen so it will make it easier and have the gems used for other special things or upgrades. Especially when the levels increase and get harder to beat and you need to upgrade the kitchen and you don’t have enough gems, you then have to be forced to pay for them and if you still don’t have enough gems after you do, where you have to spend another 99 cents for example is getting to just be pointless and not worth it. There are other ways to use gems but just not constantly along with coins to upgrade kitchen items. ✓ Impossible to play after awhile without spending significant moneyThis was a great game until I beat maybe 4-5 restaurants. The cost of upgrades keeps getting more and more expensive and it seems like there are less rubies to be earned. I wouldn’t mind spending a little money every now and then but $1 for 10 rubies! It won’t even buy you one upgrade you need at the Golden Dragon restaurant I am at now!! It’s so frustrating. And also, I used to be able to watch videos to speed up delivery of upgrades or be able to speed up asking for help from my guild and now it asks me for a ridiculous amount of rubies. I thought this game was maybe going to be different since the first few restaurants seemed fair and reasonable. But it’s just like every other game. The daily reward is only 2 rubies! ✓ Good game but ridiculously expensiveI like this game but it is impossible to progress without spending rubies which are ludicrously expensive. I know games like these cost a lot to develop but the charges are off the scale. One of the side things is to have a pet which you have to keep happy. For some reason you have to pick a pack of cards every day - three of which cost rubies and one of which costs the blue notes which you win during gameplay. The three packs of cards cost 20, 40 and 80 rubies total of 140 which is about £12 and I have no idea why I should do that. You do get 30 mins of unlimited energy sometimes but otherwise you have to top up lives with rubies. Some of the levels are impossible to do unless you have upgraded your kitchen (which costs mega amounts of rubies) or use boosters (which cost guess what? Yes even more mega amounts of rubies) So whilst it is an enjoyable game it’s daylight robbery so I will play till I can’t get any further for free and then I’ll uninstall. ✓ Good once upon a timeI started playing this game a few years ago and entirely enjoyed it since you could still play without needing to spend money and if you just wanted gems you’d have to grind and play a lot of levels. But since I started playing again recently I noticed with the new update there’re difficult levels and even insane level which makes it so hard to pass them. Every restaurant has these once they’ve passed a certain number and because of these insane levels I cannot complete the achievements and it makes it so hard to get the gems now. The difficult levels are hard but still manageable but the insane ones are so difficult that no one is fooled that the developers are just forcing players to spend more money to pass the levels. ✓ Started off fun, then lost its appealI used to love this game, I thought the storyline was interesting/creative, the levels fulfilling and not too easy, but not too hard to beat either. Then came the updates. There are so many new dimensions that the makers have added to this game that it’s no longer fun. These dimensions include incredibly difficult levels that feel impossible to pass without spending money on in-game gems, challenges which require you to compete against other players for a 1st place prize, but to enter you must now win at least 50 levels. ✓ Taking WAY TO LONG to receive my receipts in my Email inbox!It use to take a few hours to receive a receipt now it’s taking days I’m still waiting for one From three days ago! I find this really fishy because my Email was hacked shortly after I downloaded this game in the first place. When I first downloaded the game I received a receipt within a few hours at first then it started to take a a few days, then my Email was hacked I got it fixed I then made a purchase in the game I received my receipt within a few hours again.
